Seniors in the building, I greet una.

I recently got an interview invite for a civil service role (EO, Finance officer).

For those who have had the experience, what should I expect? What areas am I going to be accessed on? What are the likely questions?

I will appreciate your inputs please.

Thanks

Currently, there is so much scrutiny on COS applications by the Home office due to the ongoing abuse. So, your employer might be telling you the truth. Just be patient. Mine took 3 to 4 months to come out.
Good luck

This is my first time here.. great job guys... The university were i would be working told me they applied for my COS since on 6th of this month, but they are yet to respond back to me...

As anyone whose sponsor applied for COS this month obtained theirs?

Or is it possible the university is delaying giving me the COS since my resumption date to commence my job is February next year?.

I will appreciate every response... thanks in advance

There is definitely something you may have filled wrongly. Could you download your Visa Application Form (incomplete), blurr the sensitive info in it and show us? Perhaps gurus here can spot the error

Preeteeshir:
No, it's not a care job and I'm typing in the correct format, My Cos is expiring on the 30th of next month.
TravelRe: UK Skilled Worker Visa / Health And Care Worker Visa / Qualified Teacher Route by cbn4main: 10:12am On Nov 19, 2023
Elapsed work start date is not a problem at all, so long as your COS has not expired. The 28daus rule says you can start work not later than 28 days after your visa is granted.
Your intended travel date should be after your work start date.

Preeteeshir:
Good morning, elapsed work start date, work start date was supposed to be 5th of Nov, now I can't even pay for IHS, after filling the work start and work end date, I filled my intended date of travel, it's still asking for a valid travel date, I don't know what to do. Please assist me.

Bro, have you thought of the fact that your former sponsor may have reported you to the Home office after issuing you with series of warnings for non academic attendance?

Have you also considered that your former sponsor may have withdrawn their sponsorship after multiples of non response from you?

And finally, have you considered that the Home office may have given you 60 days to exit the UK, but you continued doing your care job, thereby being an overstayer for a long time?

You need to tell us your correspondence with the university during these times. No go waste your visa fee for HCW. Anyways, na just £551. It is worth the trial if u wish to gamble it.

Goodluck bro

Sysco6000:
Thanks for your response,

But as for pictures I don't think I have that. I got police report, messages and stuffs like that proving the kidnap.

And for the ILR, when the time comes I will use an immigration lawyer, I may even use one for this case self to see if it will ease my approval.

I read your text and you said I shouldn't leave any funny remarks or informations, so what you mean is that I should add every violations that i did in a cover letter and ask for consideration and reasons why I violated there rules with proofs right, even without the immigration officers asking.

It is becoming rampant that couples file for their 12 year old nephew or niece as their dependants, to use them to look after their little ones at home while they work full time My former classmate did it and went scotfree. I hope this is not your case.
Home office is becoming aware of it.

Back to your issue. You need to present hospital records of the birth of the child. Other evidence such as pictures baptism (for Christians), child dedication etc
Goodluck

My guys, I wish I had a secret formula but there isn’t. Just apply like your life depends on it, it took me months to get my first offer after interviewing like mad. Just make sure your CV is detailed with all your skills, and be flexible with the roles you apply for i.e Audit Associate, Finance Manager, Finance Business Partner, Accountant, Financial Analyst. Check the JD and look for key words and add to your CV. Always add a cover letter as well. And if too many people have applied for the job, don’t even bother yourself. Godspeed

No.1) I was once a student. I know a few students who did more than 20 hours, applied and successfully switched to work visa, but Home office later discovered them and cancelled their stay. This is a 50/50 something.

No.2) Prior to your exit, did you fulfill all the conditions of your Tier 4 visa sponsorship? My concern here is, did you clear all your fees owed to your sponsor (University). Did your sponsor report you or threaten to report you to UKVI for lack of school attendance?

Sysco6000:
Good day House, I have a Question and my story long

..In 2021 I was opportune to go to the UK for schooling MSC and I couldn't finish my schooling due to personal reasons, that put me into depression so I stopped school, and through that period, and my stay in the UK, I was working more than 20hrs per week in different carehomes.

...So before my visa was expiring, I left the UK to avoid bad travel history or overstay because I plan to come back through full time work.

So I reached out to several carehomes I worked for in the UK, which has cos and I asked for sponsorship and 2 agreed to sponsor since there know how good I was working for them without no issue.

So my Questions goes like this

1. Will my 20hours per week I worked when I was in the UK affect my decision making for a healthcare visa to the UK when I apply for it.

2. My inability to finish school affect my decision making.

This carehome know me right from when I was in the UK and have agreed to sponsor me, so am scared of my chances of getting a visa Approval.

Please this is my email 🙏 divinecrimp@gmail.com

Thanks for the reply. But why would I pay for ihs for my baby when I know it's free for HCW visa. I would explore the option of getting a visa for my baby without a passport

080bjaked:
I don't think you do Sir. Also, visa isn't necessary yet unless the child wants to travel. The most important thing is to pay for IHS fees for the child before he clocks 3months so he won't be denied of medical services (unless you are willing to pay out of pocket).

But I can assure you that you can put in a Visa application without a passport. I'm sure because I'm currently doing the process myself smiley

Elders in the house, for a child born in the uk to a skilled worker parents, can they make a dependant visa application without a passport ?

Since free NHS services will stop after 3 months of birth, do I have to get a passport for the baby or I can use their full UK birth certificate to make a dependant visa application?

For the first question, "28 days rule" got you covered. You can resume work not later than 28days after your visa was granted

Goodly1:
Hi everyone, quick one. If the "work start date" on one's CoS is in September and the person is applying for a visa this November (2 months after), is there any problem as the work start date has passed?

Also, if one renewed their passport a month after CoS issuance, is there any need for the employer to update the person's CoS with the new passport number before the person proceeds to apply for a visa? Thanks.

The case is a very touching one indeed. I pray God gives them the strength to endure it.

But normally, all things being equal, in-country switch takes around 2 weeks sha, even though the website says within 8 weeks. I got mine two days ago.

It will definitely be sorted very soon.

dubaiprince:
I can understand how you feel about the delay (it happens at times). I think on a norms, the turn around time for in-country tier 2 visa applications take about 8 weeks since you already complained, you need to give them 20 working days to respond. I am sure they will respond, don't be tempted to complain again as every new complain wipes out the initial one and the 20 working days start counting again.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by cbn4main: 5:47pm On Nov 08, 2023
Ok.

florixi:
Yes, we applied to switch to a Tier 2 visa after the course completion date on my CAS. I contacted my university visa advice office and was told my studentship has no connection with my spouse-dependent visa application and that the home office has already been informed that I have completed my program. I know someone with a similar issue; I believe it is a backlog issue. I want to wait until Friday; if nothing happens, I will contact my MP as someone suggested here.

Your case is very touching.

Did your wife switch to tier 2 after your course completion date as stated on your CAS?

Please, check your course end date on your CAS and confirm you all attempted to switch to tier 2 after the date.

florixi:
Dear people of God ,

Please,I need your input on how to contact the Home Office for an application within the UK on my situation.

My family and I applied to switch to a Tier 2 visa since August. My wife, who is the main applicant, got her visa early in October, while i and the children's visas are still not yet out. This is the 11th week of these applications. i am really worried because our Tier 4 had already expired in late October.

I have successfully completed my MSc, and i am supposed to start working full time now, but this delay is not helping as most of the work i demanding my share code.

I have called the HO, they only told me to send mail to the complaint, which I did two weeks ago. Still no feedback yet. This is really frustrating; what else can i do to address this? Has anyone experienced this before? I need the best advice, please. I am tired of checking my email.

Standard SW application.

I hammered home office with a well detailed cover letter with facts and proof.

Glory be to God!!!

cbn4main:
Elders in the house, after one week of submitting my Skilled Worker Visa (HCW), Home Office sent a mail to my operations mgr (my sponsor).
Please note that I clearly indicated health and care Visa on my Visa application for 3 years and above and not below 3 years, as home office wrote. (See the attached). My COS clearly stated 6145 as my SOC code and i'm eligible for HCW.

I don't know why the case worker mistook my HCW application for an ordinary Skilled worker visa thereby telling me to pay a higher application fee. See the mail from Home office below and kindly advise me:

Quickly, check on your COS if your employer confirmed that you are eligible for a Health and Care worker visa.
From the COS details, I can't see anything suggesting that you are not eligible for HCW visa.

You will need to provide your appointment letter from your UK employer (sponsor) and an introduction letter from them also, stressing the fact that you are eligible for the the visa.

Other people in the house can suggest more.

2) For paragraph 3, na you go answer that one. What exactly is your SOC code as stated on your COS?

My employer said I should relate with the Home office and explain to them.
I was just surprised that such a misunderstanding can happen at that level.

Again, why didn't the Home office send me an NSF? Rather, they emailed my employer.

Anyways, I have written a cover letter explaining in details. Hopefully, they will action it and do the needful.

How much did you pay for your visa application

Lol..it is most likely that the cash worker is on drugs actually.
I saw the mail with my eyes. The assertions made by the case worker was false: That, I selected visa duration of 3 years or below while my COS is for 3 years and above.
My COS is for 6145 and it's eligible for HCW. I just don't know why the case worker totally neglected it and took it for an ordinary SW visa. I wonder when SOC 6145 became an ordinary SW visa.

And again, if they neglected HCW I applied, how come they didn't tell me to pay for IHS?
I paid £551 which is the correct fee for HCW for 5 years visa. Now, the case worker is requested additional £533, making it a total of £1,084 ( equivalent to an ordinary SW visa for 5 years)
