Osadeba1:Before this FX hike, in August 2022, I was charged almost 70k for like 10 to 15k excess luggage. Paying for excess luggage is more expensive. Avoid excess luggage if u can. Otherwise, pay for an entire 23kg extra bag online and fill up your bag with food stuffs. It's cheaper. |
EJIOGBENIMI:The rate is quite high but so long as you clear your balances before deadline, the rates won't apply to you. |
giselle237:Thanks for the reply |
lavida001:Which money are you referring to please? The one they have planned to use to fund the NHS? 😃 😊 Dey play |
Good morning elders. Please who has travelled to the uk from Nigeria with Kenya airways? How much was charged for extra luggage? Did you pay in Naira or dollars at the Airport? I want to decide whether to pay online or at the Airport |

Gam22:For your second question, during my partner's student dependant visa application, I erroneously inputed January as the mum's month of birth. When we were switching visa, I inputed the correct month. Now, I applied for the mum's visit visa, she got it approved. I think the information you gave in the last visa application is the most relevant and would be used for any decision making. |
jedisco:Bro, does one need another COS from their company to apply for a visa extension assuming their 3 years SW visa is about to expire? |
brainhack201:I'm so touched by this refusal because my spouse's mum's visa was just granted recently (first time traveller). Here are the basic things I did: 1). Duration of visit was 2 months. I stated she was coming to spend time with her daughter who is about to give birth, to support her mental and psychological wellbeing (Note: you must use a very emotional and cogent reason for the visit). 2). I submitted a bank statement of £9,000 and proposed to support her trip 100% with £4,000. Note: Your £3,000 savings is way too small. In the cover letter, you need to draft a budget (Flight, internal transport etc) 3). I stated she was a petty trader and a pensioner with a regular income (pension) and irregular income(shop sales). I uploaded pics of her in her shopa and retirement Letter. Note: in your case, you need to be consistently sending her a particular amount every month to form a regular income for her. This is not compulsory but I suggest you do it to help her home-tie status. Don't forget the MatB1 form, letters of consent from family members in Nigeria, church, her property documents etc. Finay, If you read this thread extensively, I can guarantee you that your next application will be granted. Just like someone advised, don't rush into reapplying. Cheers |

Your passport is always scanned and thats the most important thing. The stamp you mentioned is just for your own record purposes and not even important bcs stamps can be forged. We have seen here, a visa denial, where a visa applicant forged immigration stamp and was caught. So you see, they have everything in the system. jimcykhan: |
Just look at how dry this thread is now. 1 to 2 years ago this place was absolutely rocking. YOUKAY IMMIGRATION POLICIES !!! Nawao!! |
Thanks so much. I appreciate. Goodenoch: |

Elders in the house, I thought having a well managed CCs is a good way to building one's credit score. Why is my case different na? Here is my journey so far: I and my partner arrived the UK in August last year. I tried to get CCs for both of us but were denied by AMEX, monzo and Lloyd's. Luckily for us, it didn't affect our Credit score. My partner is a full time worker while I was a student working part-time. I decided not to apply again until last month. My partner got accepted by two CC companies (zable and Capital one) while I applied for only Zable and got as well. Whenever we use the CCs we pay back latest after 1 to 2 days. We try to maintain a zero balance. I recently checked our Credit scores on Transunion, they were OK. But to my greatest surprise, my partner's score on Experian had dropped by over 100 points within one month of using CC and reported a credit balance of just £28 out over £400 credit limit. While mine reported zero balance but dropped by only 1 point. My experian credit score remain Fantastic. My question is, elders in the house, does it mean it's better not to have a CC? How would they drastically reduce my partner's credit score when im no get any due repayment (just £28 she spent and she paid back the next day or so ). Make una help biko |
I applied for my Mother-in-law in November, first timer. Her visa came out after 2 weeks Baba19: |
Most jobs will require your Right to Work share code either at application stage or during documentation. With a visit visa, you wouldn't have the code. LadyAmyy: |
I really do not understand what you meant by "interrupt" and the implications. But here is what students in your circumstances can do: 1). Try and attend all your classes and perhaps have some outstanding resits (failed modules). You are not under any contract with your university to pass all your papers. The most important thing is class attendance. 2). Go ahead and get COS and Wait until the end of your course completion date as stated in your CAS. Then, you and your partner should apply and switch. Disclaimer: Please, we don't encourage abandonment of studies. Going back to your question, you can switch to a dependant visa(tier 2) after your course completion date (even though you have outstanding papers). It is only PSW that requires you to pass all your papers and your university must confirm it to UKVI via the SMS platform. Cheers Saysozzz: |

Elders in the house, I just got a collection mail for my Mother-in-law's visit visa. Should I expect a decision mail or I should assume that the visa was successful? The passport will be delivered in 48 hours. |
