I have this issue of omission. Though it's not my surname(last name)
Name on passport and every other document is OTU MATHEW OGBONNIA but omission and inclusion in my first degree is OTU MATTHEW OGBONNA. Schools are on strike and I can't do the change. I have been offered admission into NTU.
I have asked this question before and I was calmed. Now I saw this, it tamped me up. Please, advice again

Yours is negligible. The both names mean the same thing.

You just received this document a few days ago, is it too late for corrections to be made?

Age and also gender mistakes is alot to be swearing affidavit for.
Try and see if the error can be corrected and reissued to you.

You are right.

I had a name error in my degree certificate. A letter was omitted from my surname. I did affidavit and submitted it for admission purposes.
I was so worried as I was skeptic if it would be accepted for Visa purposes.

I went back to my school during this current strike, lobbied my way and ensured the certificate was corrected. I now used the correct certificate for Visa.

So guys, always ensure you correct these errors rather than affidavit, especially if it concerns your academic certificate which is very vital for student visa

I paid few days ago:

IHS= $888.05
VISA fee= $457

Current dollar rate now is 618 the last time I checked.

I bought dollars and paid with my gtb dollar card and it was hassle free.

My course is 1 year.

Guys, for those that have gotten PTA,

1). which Airline did you use?

2). After you cancelled your return ticket, were you refunded cash, transfered to your bank or given a voucher and how long did it take?

3) how long is PTA processing time now?

4). Lastly, for a family who intends to travel to the UK together, is it wise to book the tickets separately and process PTA or book for the family together?

IHS: $904

This is according to someone that paid two days ago for a one year Msc course.
The person used a dollar card and the above was the equivalent in dollars.

Which ILR?
His siblings have to come to the UK on their own merit - study or work
You can’t sponsor siblings - no such route exists in the UK
One can sponsor spouse or minor kids - even that is a process, parents is extremely difficult, almost impossible.

For the benefit of those who need the information, there is UK family visa available for people whose relatives are on ILR status or are citizens.

You can sponsor a family member to the UK. But there are conditions that must be met.

You can actually sponsor your siblings to the UK if you have ILR (pr). Of course there would be conditions to that effect.

1). I got unconditional offers from Edinburgh napier and Glasgow Caledonian University with my statement of result and official Transcripts. The likes of ARU, Bangor and Wolverhampton requested for my degree certificate

2). This depends on schools. Research on the school deadline dates.

I used Polaris for form A. They don't accept statement of result. I don't know of other banks

It is a financial institution regulated by the CBN. so yes, it is recommended.
However, I will advise you keep a valid evidence of the source of funds there.
I read visa applicants now get NSF to show evidence of the source.

If you are using UBA, you may consider doing with another bank. It's getting late for sept intake.

I heard (unverified) UBA is currently not processing form A.

All banks are the same currently except for UBA that is currently having issues with Form A. You need to "press buttons" at the branch you choose for them to worry the head office guys to push your application once at disbursement stage.

I used Polaris and was debited within 7days but not without a lot of pressure and follow up. Go to the branch you selected and worry them. At this disbursement stage, they will help u pressure the guys at headquarters. Their rate is 555. I hope this helps

Hi Everyone, please I need some advice from the house.

I applied for my student visa in September 2021 and when I received my BRP in October 2021 after arriving in the UK, it said it would expire in November of 2022. At the time I didn't know much or thought there was a problem, but recently I have confirmed from several people who also applied at the same time or even before me for the same September school start date, that theirs are ending in January 2023, as there are some months of grace added.

Please how do I go clarifying this and can this be rectified as it will go a very long way in helping both me and my dependents whose BRP are also tied to the November expiration date. I would just like to know if BRPs for the same cohort can have different end dates or it must be the same.

Kindly confirm your course start date and end date. This is tied to the duration of your visa. Some one year courses have 12 months duration while some are more.

This may explain the variance in the visa duration btw yours and your fellow sep intake mates.

However if you would finish b4 the current expiration, just apply for PSW and switch.

What is note worthy here is what is meant by APPLICATION DATE according to UKVI.

Someone on this thread had recently reapplied for their visa bcs they noted that UKVI wrote that APPLICATION DATE is the date one paid for VISA and IHS fees and not the date you submitted your application. People that follow this thread can confirm this person's testimony.

Remember what the rule says...the end of the 28 days must be within 31 days of your Application date (visa and IHS fees payment date)

So guys take note, it is wrong to pay for your visa n IHS fees b4 your POF matures.

Nigerians are far better than most nationals in the UK when it comes to vocabulary.

Affidavit won’t suffice in this case, it’s better you can get a letter from your school stating the error was made by them.

@Gloryah, I just hope this said letter from my school won't raise an eyebrow at visa level. I no get strength for NSF and maybe visa ban for certificate forgery.

I guess I will just wait for the correct certificate to be reissued. My contact in my school is working towards it.

Has anyone used a letter from their university acknowledging an error in their name for Visa purposes? Please how feasible is this?

My question is, If I get CAS with it, what are my chances that I will scale through in Visa application?

So long as original certificate wasn't started in your CAS, you are good to go.

Honestly speaking I waited for a week or so without any progress. I was advised by a friend to cancel and switch to a less popular bank. UBA now has loads of Form A request. E choke!!

No. Religion marriage certificate is not binded by law. Only certificate from the marriage registry will be accepted by UKVI.

Please this is incorrect. UKVI accepts religious marriage.
The key thing is that the applicant must prove that that the marriage is genuine and both partners have been living together.
Plenty people on this platform have used religious marriage cert. pictures, WhatsApp messages, joint account statements (if any) etc to backup the marriage r/ship.

For the POF, which is better - to use a dom account ($) or a dom account (£)

My uncle in the US will be sponsoring my UK education. He recommends I open a Dom account (£) because pounds as the official currency of UK is higher than dollar and also because of exchange rate volatility . But I have been to the bank and they said only offer card (dollar card) for Dom ($) account.

Pls I want to know which is better

GTB is the best for Domiciliary account in my own opinion.
I will advise you open a GTB dollar denominated Domiciliary account and request for a dollar card. Your uncle can wire dollar directly to your account with ease. GTB do not issue pound card. Although UBA does but theirs is more expensive.
You can pay your HIS, VS, Flight ticket, Accommodation fee etc with the dollar card.
You can as well use the dollar account as POF.
Make your independent investigations and take a decision.

My advice would be for you to wait for ASUU to call off the strike. If the strike last past your resumption date, then you defer the admission to the next intake.
Universities refund only on visa denial not relating to fraud or incomplete document by the applicant.

I am in this sort of situation but with a different school.
The summary of it is that I decided to wait until the school waive that requirement given that ASUU is on strike, b4 I go ahead to make payment.
I am still waiting for them with my tuition fee chilling in my bank Account.
My question is, why did you go ahead to make payment when you haven't met the conditions of the offer?
