Without wanting to sound defensive, I'll say y'all should not discourage ppl, I dunno which recruitment y'all are talking about but with reference to the recruitment Sahara group did in 2014; Yes the process was quite hectic and stressful but a lot of ppl that I know were employed based on merit and the working conditions are quite above average when compared with other coys in the same industry. So if you have all the requirements, apply for the job and put in your best. I'm passionate to see y'all succeed. |

rodDICK: nice thought. I guess I will get any info about the pay and job security on Monday. about whether I will have more advantage after my MSc, I definitely will. I will be more qualified in the HSE field after my MSc even if I do currently have some professional qualification.
that's the reason why it is a difficult decision to make. OP, you sound like you already have an idea of what you want to do....now you appear not even too buoyant to run dt Msc so your best bet would be AFTER you have received your offer letter, defer your Msc admission for a year, dt way even if the job wasn't as sweet as you want you can manage it for a year nd if you're so tired of the job by then you'd have saved up some money wic you can now use for the Msc but if the job turned out good you fire on. Now that's how to eat your cake and have it. And may I tell you that in the industrial world, experience always covers up for all that whatever you think the Msc would add to your worth. You'll thank me later. I'm passionate to see you succeed. |

brokenplate: Offices are very cheap so they can afford to have a space for their fraudulen act.
But most biz on the island are legit. I'm sorry to burst your bubble sir, but not to sound like I just want to argue ; permit me to state that FACTUALLY, there are many legit companies in Ikorodu(Ikorodu Rd inclusive offcos) Ketu and Iyanaworo nd there are also scam/gnld companies on the island so if you start screening your invites just by 'location' you might be missing out on some really cool jobs (like they say big things sometimes come in small packages). What you should have placed more emphasis on is the 'address' as opposed to 'location' ; I believe you know that those 2 mean different things. Many times, with few exceptions tho, looking up an address on Google will give you all the information you need. Futhermore, there is a thread in this section that deals with how to recognise a scam/gnld job invite where I believe all the other signs to watch out for are properly discussed so I don't need to go over them again. I took my time to make this explanation not to prove anything but because I've seen some of your posts in this section and....I dunno what to say...but nonetheless.... I'm passionate to see you succeed! |

ojoawo: I been just dey waka pass ooo na so I see your post
seemed interesting, na so I help you Google small.
1. there is a Oilex Ltd in Australia (oilex.com.au - website) and none in the US. They got a company LinkedIn profile check them out
2. Haley Berry or who that Karen Derek is- is NOT the HR manager
I was a bit surprised... then I dug deeper
There has been post from one Karen Derek posting messages on job boards for a while asking people to send mail to oilexltd@engineer.com
If that is the mail you got it from then I think it might not be a genuine job. Any company especially one based in the US would use a company domain name registered email address. the mail address should seem something like hr@oilexltd.com
if it is a scam, then most likely game they are gonna play with you is to get a lot of information about you (Which alone is enough risk to cope with) and then ask you to pay Fees that would never end from Admin processing fees to Visa fees etc
I am not saying it is a scam since I do not have any history of any sort with them, I am only saying based on my 2minute Google findings something doesn't seem right.
My 2cents Guy ur sense of humor na final year |
