talk2salt: Hi all.
Got in last night. Getting to know the place. Just opened a bank account and got me a SIM. Cold and expensive, very, but awesome!!! Looking to accommodation. Rooming at a temporary, and expensive, basic place with some Indians. They are great! Met some Nigerians and we went out looking for.a place. 110 dollars to share a room sounds much but it's the best I've got. Need to get a job soon as I can. Not many options in Wollongong yet. Keep y'all posted....thanks alot y'all.

Much love to y'all
Godspeed

manmeta: I think this may be ok for assessing your qualifications by your assessing body and I guess it's IELTS Academic.

For visa application, why not do IELTS General Training which is easier than Academic? If you'd have these scores in Academic, I see you having a minimum of 8.0 and scoring the maximum 20 points here (With my otondo english, I got 8.5). I must confess this is a good section to garner points for the 60 required, if you give it your best shot.

Think about.
Thanks, I have checked the SOL and agricultural consultant which my babe qualified for is what I am looking at.what can you say about vetasess-the assessing body?
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by cconcept: 7:47am On Jul 05, 2013
manmeta: 6.0 on each band will fetch you zero points.

7.0 on each band will fetch you 10 points.

8.0 on each band will fetch you 20 points (the max you can claim here).

All the best.
I guess this result is not good enough to apply
Listening 6.5
Reading 8.0
Writing 7.5
Speaking 7.5
Overall 7.5

TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by cconcept: 11:30am On Jul 01, 2013
jt2010: Madam Jenny and Manmeta,

Many thanks. Am reading up on the PR route right now, but I already have a little concern about the assessment of qualifications. I do have more than 10 years working experiences in IT but my Bsc is in History and Strategic Studies while my MSc in IT... I have some other IT professional certificates like MCITP and Cisco etc. How can I get access base as an IT Professional if my Bsc degree is in another field. Also what about my previous working experience before my Bsc Degree.

Please give me an hints on how to go about this..
Exactly what I am talking about.
We have a practical scenario at hand

@okunrin meta(manmeta),I duff my hat for you
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by cconcept: 10:26am On Jul 01, 2013
manmeta: See, I'm not asking you to be dishonest or unethical. But, I believe as long as you have the requisite experience and maybe a least similar qualification, there is a way you may do your paperwork to suit your application.

Think about it!
Am sure someone has learnt something smiley
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by cconcept: 10:23am On Jul 01, 2013
smiley I just raised a general question
I studied applied economics and for my masters health economics and telemedicine/Applied IT. funny enough I have never worked fully with these qualifications smiley
Current and new followers of these thread will benefit from these discussions .
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by cconcept: 10:09am On Jul 01, 2013
I think of one the many reasons why those who already have a degree are thinking of going through the study route is because they have work experience in a different field from what they study in school. I have once raised it before here-how can someone who studied Yoruba/IT etc in school and working as a farmer/bank/ etc apply for the gsm route for PR? We all know this is the situation in many sectors of the Nigerian economy .
I am not so sure but I think the qualification/work experience someone is claiming must be relevant to any of the occupation on the list.
It will be nice if Jenny and co can give further clarification
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by cconcept: 3:18pm On Jun 28, 2013

TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by cconcept: 4:20pm On Jun 25, 2013
So Jenny, what can you say about bunbry?
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by cconcept: 4:04pm On Jun 25, 2013
jennykadry: Have you thought about going down the ladder a little bit and doing a masters instead?

If you are going with her, then you can work while she studies....You both can work really, shift work.
Good ideas.
I thought working hours is limited for principal applicant and dependants who have visa via tafe progs
Thanks Jenny

cconcept: Thanks.i am actually thinking of applying for my wife but am just worried about how she will cope with the kid and schooling.
Jenny, what do you say?
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by cconcept: 3:04pm On Jun 25, 2013
jennykadry: @cconcept

Get a job in the mines as a student on school holidays. Go work for them, you will benefit from it at the end of your course. wink miners are no doubt easily sponsored like crazy. You can apply yourself but if a mining company is willing to, why not??
Thanks.i am actually thinking of applying for my wife but am just worried about how she will cope with the kid and schooling.
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by cconcept: 1:15pm On Jun 25, 2013
