I wish i could like this twice. You stated Absolute Facts

Rugaria:
This is the net consequence of watching too much CNN and BBC. This is what mental colonialization has done to the biggest black nation on earth. Operation brain phuck!
This is what Bob Marley was wailing about, when he asked the black man to "emancipate yourself from mental slavery"..
The people you are going to die for don't rate you. The war you're jumping into, you know nothing about..

This is how our grand fathers went to fight in British wars against Germany in all sorts of places in the name of fighting the World Wars. When it was all over, the only people being celebrated as heroes of these wars are the whites and no mention is made of the black Africans who put down their lives for a fight they knew nothing about..

I have said it here many times, we need to have our own CNN, our own Al Jazeera, our own Press TV... This is a question of national security. Africans need to be exposed to world events based on pro African narratives... Because, As long as millions of black people in Africa depend on western sources for their primary sources of information, so long will their mindsets be messed up in all sorts of wrong ways... You have never volunteered to fight for Congo Kinshasa who has been fighting against a western induced war for over a decade now. A war that has killed over 6 million people. But you want to fight for Ukraine...

Ndi volunteers..

Career / Re: Career Advice Needed. Remain In Dubai Or Accept An Employment Offer In Berlin? by cdialauka: 6:02pm On Nov 24, 2021
As an IT engineer based in Germany myself, I will tell you to go to Germany. With your salary you will be Eligible for an EU blue card which is very rare and difficult to get on entry, after 3yrs you will be eligible for PR. I doubt you will get this in Dubai even if you make more money. Plus Germany is the hub of Tech in Europe, NO CAP, so think about it

impactValue:
Greetings, good people of Nairaland

Please I need a piece of honest advice from experienced nairalanders, I am a Software Engineer, I got an offer from a very close friend (He is like a brother to me) of mine that resides in Dubai to come and manage a club he co-owns to enable him time for other activities. I will need to learn how nightclubs operate since I have little or zero knowledge about the nightlife. I have the freedom to pick up side gigs (or remote work) when I can and He is not in any way restricting me but he needs me to learn the business with him.

The plan, in a simple language, when I learn the business well enough he will pull out and open his own so I can be his manager since he doesn't want recognition.

He paid for my flight ticket and was the one that processed the visa for me (tourism) and he is currently working on how my visa can be extended and my work permit too.

Before I came to Dubai, I applied for this opening with a tech firm in Berlin. I completed the last stage here in Dubai and have been sent the offer but I will have to relocate to Germany because the work is on-site, the company bare expenses regards flight ticket, travel insurance, visa process et al. The start salary is 56K euros per annum (gross).

Also, I resigned from a bank as a development specialist (full-time staff not yet confirmed though, was earning 450K naira net with other benefits) prior to my trip to Dubai. I was doing well in Nigeria because I earned a total of up to 800K (with all my works combined) just that the work ethic (the bank work) is toxic to me because you will work your brain out debugging code, plus I am looking at a good place that I can start a family when I am ready and Nigeria is a no for me unless I have enough money to send my kid abroad to study.

What do I do now that I am already in Dubai? I am passionate about tech and I love the echo system. Please any input from experienced fellows will go a long way for me.

Thanks in advance. Mod please help so I can get as much input as possible

Travel / Re: Life In Germany: What Is It Like For Nigerians Who Migrated? by cdialauka: 7:36pm On Oct 27, 2021
I am currently in Germany and I can tell you it's been a great experience. I came via msc/study and currently working. Great work/life balance even though I'm not married but it's a good country to raise a family and great for work/study.

OBUKOMENA:
Good evening nairalanders! I hope you had a good day?

So, let me just go straight to my reason for opening this thread, and I hope I would be able to convey my thoughts impeccably:

It seems like some of our people who travelled to Germany aren't doing so well after all (I stand to be corrected, though!)
I have a friend over there whom I am preparing to go meet. This guy has been there since 2017. He hardly calls me on normal call. He would rather call on WhatsApp. Reason being so that he could get in touch cheaply. The first and only time I asked him to send me something, he told me pointblank he didn't have.
Just this afternoon, I heard a colleague's father just came back to Nigeria from there after 21 solid years! He had abandoned his wife and children here in Nigeria. If he was doing so well over there, would he not have arranged for his family to come over and stay with him - at least?

I have been worried, even before I heard this colleague's father thing: I don't know what I am going to meet at the friend's place; I don't know what life is like over there - how to cope in a non-English speaking environment. I don't know how long it's going to take me to make it over there and reconnect with my family. This news about my colleague's dad also increased my worries.

So, I decided I would come on here to ask: Aren't these red flags as regards traveling over there, especially with the hope that when i get there, after 2-3 years, I would bring in my family.
Anyone here knows about life in Germany?
Romance / Re: Body Count Means Nothing. Her Body, Her Choice Respect It. by cdialauka: 8:53pm On Oct 24, 2021
Stop this WOKE NONSENSE

Women Bond Emotionally as it has been said that a lady who has had multiple sexual partners will find it difficult to PAIR BOND with a man she gets married to meaning if she has slept with 100 men, her settling for one man is next to impossible as even if she gets married to one man, she'll get bored very quickly and starts looking outside. When you add Female Hypergamy to that, it's just a question of not if but when she cheats.

Hence the popular saying "You can't turn a Hoe into a House Wife"

That's why a woman's PAST is EXTREMELY important before you marry her.

Men want women without a past and women want Men with a Future.

sirjamesjnr:
There is no sure thing as a sexual quota. And there is no such thing as a ‘hoe’. Men that slut-shaming women are not mature to be in a grown-up relationship. No lady is not accountable to any man for her past. It's none of a man's business.

That lady A has one guy she sleep with when she was 15 till she clocks 30 and married, lady B has a body count of 100 before her 30th birthday. The truth is the two ladies have sex and they don't owe you any explanation.

If you are going to marry for 'purity" look for a virgin girl. Do not condemn a man who wants a team player, homemaker, companion, and someone who can resonate with him. A virgin girl can tick all the boxes agreed. If you found that virgin girl with these qualities good luck. There is a lady out there for every man. Time is hard, while the world is moving forward, the Average Nigerian man is talking about body count. Shouldn't you be worried about a lady who can build a great home with you so your generation won't abuse you? Whether you are wealthy or you are coming up, I will like to think you need a proper woman to build your home with you.

My time in this uncertain world, both in the corporate world and among great minds. What we care about are ladies with decent character, basic moral values, ethics, cleanliness, abilities to accept responsibility, and willingness to learn something good. Never for once within this circle of friends and learned mind do we care about what a woman does with her body. What you do when you are in a relationship with me is what matters.

To that man who is in a decent relationship:
I know how you feel. When you develop strong feelings for a girl, it’s hard to think of her being with other guys. Even though you can rationalize that her past relationships happened before you met, it doesn’t make it any easier to accept that there were others who had been intimate with her. But you can’t dwell on this. It will destroy you, and it will destroy your relationship with your girlfriend.

Unless your girlfriend is the kind of girl that is very flirtatious, and who loves all the attention that she can get from guys, you probably don’t have anything to worry about. If she were a “hoe” she wouldn't want to have a decent relationship. So how do you get over this? There are only two things that I know of that you can do:

1. Don’t torture yourself with the details. There is no reason for you to know with whom she did it, how many times they did it, what positions they did it in, how big the guys were, and if they were better in bed than you or not. As tempting as it is to ask her these things—don’t! And stop her from volunteering that kind of information. Knowing these things will not help you or your relationship with your girlfriend in any way. They will only become mental and emotional burdens to you—obstacles and barriers that you will constantly have to overcome in order to treat her the way that she deserves to be treated. You protect yourself and you protect your relationship when you avoid rubbing your nose in her past.

2. Change the way that you look at people. Start realizing that every one of us is screwed up in some way. There are no perfect people. Every single one of us does dumb things and makes mistakes in our quest to find love and belonging. Your girlfriend is no exception. Choose to see her through the eyes of love and compassion, rather than through the eyes of judgment and condemnation.

To our ladies. I have one thing to say to you. You don’t need to apologize for your past relationships, and you don't need to explain yourself to any man. Simply understand that all you need is to be loved by someone, and if it didn’t work out, move on and build your life. Hopefully, your next relationship will work out for you.

Me personally? I’ve never longed to be with a virgin except for an ex and my girl(I am not with her because of sexual purity). I prefer my sexual partners to already know their way around their own sexuality. That means they’ve gotten some practice. Now I understand that as a man you need some certain confidence that some of you may are probably still forming. But when someone says something derogatory about the woman I’ve chosen to love I don’t reconsider my love. I conclude the person saying it is an idiot and ignore them in the future. I have faith in myself which leads me to have faith in the people I choose as partners.

Ladies out there, know the class of men you allow into your life. Be responsible for your actions.

Health / Re: Help My Girlfriend Is Epileptic. by cdialauka: 10:52pm On Sep 28, 2020
I would advise you visit a neurologist for seizures and get a seizures drug called "carbamazepin or tegretol" to prevent the seizures from happening. I'm taking because I know someone that had this. The cause of the seizures were due to electrical activity in the brain and this could trigger this seizures. She may feel depressed, suicidal, and really sad after such episodes. Get the drugs for her 100mg or 200mg. But see a neurologist first.

Chef2000:
Please doctors in the house is there a cure for nocturnal epilepsy?

I have a pretty girl, we started dating 8 months ago, this girl is everything I need in a woman, she is neat, cooks well and humble, so perfect to my taste but she is epileptic.

I have been inviting her to my house for over 5months for her to sleep over in my apartment but she keeps refusing, telling me she has a problem then I later promised her whatever the problem is that I wouldn't abadon her.

She finally came on friday, we ate together and later in the night at 22:38 she started having epilepsy and after about 45mins she woke up and started crying, she told me she has been suffering from epilepsy since Feb 2019 but she hasn't been to the hospital due to financial issues.

So please can we find drug for nocturnal epilepsy, it happens to her only at night like 30 to 35mins in her sleep.

WHY THE YOUTH LEADER WAS DECLARED WANTED

In Eleme local government area, there exist two covid19 taskforce teams, one from the state headed by a group of PDP members not in the same camp with the council boss and the other constituted by the LGA council chairman which the wanted PDP youth leader is a member. The youth leader who is said to have criminal records before he was elected PDP youth leader.

The LGA taskforce gave Prudent and Etemeteh Hotels the go ahead order to operate even with the lockdown. The state taskforce got the info and moved to enforce the lockdown order only for the manager of one of the hotels to put call across to the LGA taskforce led by the wanted PDP youth leader, they responded and descended on the state taskforce members, BEAT THEM UP and SEIZED THEIR VEHICLES.

The taskforce reported to their leader who then called the governor.

Less than two hours later, the government ordered for the demolition of the hotels. And the PDP youth leader declared wanted.

It's clear you missed the point. You're more interested in how others perceive you than holding your leaders accountable. The British PMs case is different...She uses the medical system in the UK because it is working but PMB is not interested in developing the medical system/ hospitals in Nigeria but uses not once, twice or three times...he is quick to run to the UK to treat himself while his country's medical system is in shambles..isn't that HYPOCRISY ? If the British leaders did not develop their medical system, will Buhari travel there to use it?...its when people are slaves and have no value for their country men , they talk this way

Sports / Re: Solomon Dalung Orders Amaju Pinnick To Step Down As NFF Boss by cdialauka: 5:33pm On Jul 02, 2018
Amaju Pinnick has reacted to his sack as president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), describing it as “null and void”.

On Monday morning, the Minister for Youths and Spo‎rts in Nigeria, Solomon Dalung, ordered the current NFF board to vacate their office, in respect to a ruling by the apex court in Nigeria, the Supreme Court.

Dalung also asked Chris Giwa, who was voted as President of the NFF through a congress that wasn’t recognized by FIFA, to take over the running of the Glass House.

However, in a statement signed by the counsel to Pinnick, Festus Keyamo and made available to DAILY POST, the embattled NFF boss gave reasons why the ruling cannot stand.

It reads: “We are solicitors to Mr. Amaju Pinnick and the present Board of the NFF which he heads. We issue this statement on the instruction and directive of our clients which reflects their official position on the matter.

“The attention of our clients has been drawn to a statement purportedly issued at the behest of the Minister of Sports, Mr. Solomon Dalung, directing the NFF to comply with certain court orders effecting a change of leadership in the NFF.

“Our clients wish to alert the general public and the authorities in Nigeria that the so-called directive by the Minister of Sports is null, void and of no effect for the following reasons.

“(1) Whilst our clients respect the sanctity of court orders, unfortunately the said court orders are not binding on FIFA, the World Football Governing Body. The NFF is an affiliate of FIFA. It should be noted that FIFA has consistently maintained that this same matter has been taken to the highest Court of Sports Arbitration in Switzerland by these same individuals and they have lost. FIFA is only bound by the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sports AND DOES NOT ENTERTAIN OR TOLERATE decisions by local courts in footballing nations worldwide. Hence, FIFA has since upheld the decision of the Court of Arbitration on this matter and recognized the NFF Board led by Amaju Pinnick. Nigeria has a duty to comply with that decision. In addition, for the indiscretion of those individuals like Chris Giwa to approach the local courts, FIFA has since imposed a worldwide ban on them from all footballing activities.

“The end result is that Chris Giwa and his so-called Board members do not have any locus standi with regards to footballing matters and the Federal Government CANNOT have any dealing with them on any footballing matter. The obvious implication of all these is that if any attempt is made to recognize Chris Giwa and derecognize Amaju Pinnick and his Board, FIFA WILL DEFINITELY IMPOSE A LENGTHY BAN ON NIGERIA from all football competitions locally and internationally and that will spell doom for Nigerian Football.

“The immediate casualties of this ban would be (a) The Falconets who have qualified and are scheduled to participate in the Under-20 Female World Cup in July, 2018 (b) The final phases of the AFCON Qualifiers for the Super Eagles scheduled for August/September, 2018 (c) The Super Falcons defending their title in December in Ghana (d) No Nigerian Club side would be allowed to participate in the Continental Championships and (e) the future of all Nigerian players based in Nigeria would be in jeopardy as no Nigerian player would be allowed to be sold or transferred to any club anywhere in the world.

“Please, find attached the latest letter from FIFA to Chris Giwa, through his lawyers confirming the position of FIFA on this matter.

“(2) In view of these facts above, our clients have taken steps to vacate the orders given by the Federal High Court in Jos. It should be noted that the said orders were given ex-parte (one-sided), as no other person was served with court processes. It should also be noted that the orders were given against Amaju Pinnick and his Board members (who are not parties to the case and were never served) and in favour of Chris Giwa (who is also not a party to the case). Besides, these orders are to last for only fourteen (14) days as provided by the Rules of Court. Our clients state these facts as they are in order to inform the public of the nature of the orders given without meaning to denigrate the authority of the court.

(3) The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, a few weeks ago, having studied the Supreme Court judgment has already advised (by a letter dated 13th June, 2018) that the matter is subjudice, and that Government cannot intervene at this point. He advised all parties to await the FINAL DETERMINATION of the case. However, in a desperate attempt to assume office at all cost, Chris Giwa sneaked back to court to obtain these ex-parte (one-sided) orders prompting the office of the Attorney-General to issue yet another advice again dated June 26, 2018, advising compliance to the court order.

“(4) Finally, our clients also urge restraint and caution because the substantive matter is pending in court and has not been fully determined. Our clients have also taken steps to set aside these orders. Therefore, it is important that the Government awaits the full and final determination of the entire matter. It may be the contention of Chris Giwa and his so-called Board that the Rule of Law must be obeyed which means an immediate enforcement of the one-sided (ex-parte) orders. However, Nigeria is also bound to abide, recognize and enforce the decisions of the Courts of Arbitration for Sports which have since dismissed the case of Chris Giwa and his so-called Board, and affirmed Amaju Pinnick and his Board as the authentic leadership of the NFF.

“Our clients are therefore VERY SHOCKED that despite these glaring question marks, the Minister of Sports refused to advise Government correctly as to the position of FIFA on this matter and the existence of an Award against Chris Giwa and his so-called Board by the Court of Arbitration for Sports. The Press Release by the Minister of Sports would definitely cripple football in Nigeria and make Nigeria a pariah State regarding football. Our clients do not, by this letter, want to give credence or promote so many insinuations, peddled about, as motivating the actions of the Minister of Sports. Our clients only urge the President and Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently reverse the position of the Minister of Sports and save Nigerian Football from collapse.

“As a result of the CLEAR AND UNEQUIVOCAL position of FIFA on this issue, our clients urge the President to INSTRUCT the Minister of Sports to engage strong legal representation to challenge these court orders that were given without hearing from anyone or joining anyone on the other side (including the Minister of Sports).

“Whilst this is being done, our clients urge the President to direct all parties and law enforcement agencies to await a full determination of the case before doing anything in this regard as a result of the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sports which is also enforceable in Nigeria.

“The final point to make is that our clients wish to draw the attention of everyone to the fact that the NFF is not an independent association. It is an affiliate of FIFA. By virtue of Article 59, Paragraphs 2 and 3 of FIFA Statutes, FIFA does not tolerate such actions taken by Giwa and his so-called Board to destroy Nigerian football.

“Therefore, by virtue of the responsible position Nigeria holds in the Comity of Nations, it would be advisable that the President directs everyone to toe the line of FIFA and respect the final decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sports on this matter, instead of giving vent to the ambition of ONE MAN (Chris Giwa) who wants to bring down the entire edifice of football on all our heads to achieve his selfish ambition.

A directive has reportedly been given by the federal government through the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development that Amaju Pinnick should step down from his position as NFF President.

A statement to this effect was issued by Nneka Ikem Anibeze, the special aide on media to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, Premium Times reports.

In the statement, the sports ministry directed the Nigeria Football Federation, a parastatal under it, to comply with a court order setting aside the election into the Executive Committee of the NFF held on September 30, 2014.

Mr Dalung said the directive followed a written notification signed for the Attorney-General of the Federation requesting the sports ministry to ensure compliance.

The notification from the justice minister was quoted as follows:

“I have been directed to notify you of the Orders dated June 5th 2018 made by Honorable Justice M. H. Kurya sitting at the Federal High Court Jos in respect of the above mentioned suit between Yahaya Adama Vs Alhaji Aminu Maigari which states that the election of the NFF held on August 26, 2014 under the leadership of Amb Chris Giwa be given recognition pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice filed in this case and that the purported ban of the Executive Committee elected on August 26, 2014 from football activities of the NFF is unconstitutional, null and void.

“It is trite law that court orders are sacrosanct and any acts of disobedience to it constitutes threat to the rule of law. Consequent upon the above, you are hereby advised to comply with the orders of court made therein which for now, is the valid and binding order of court, in the absence of any other subsisting order or judgment to the contrary.

Based on this, Mr Dalung directed the parties involved to comply with the court order.

“This is a court order and not from Dalung. I will not want to go to Kuje prison because of disobedience of court orders. Therefore, I hereby comply with the court orders of June 5th 2018, while Mr Amaju Pinnick and others are also directed to comply with same.”

FIFA had earlier written to Mr Giwa and others, saying it only recognised the Amaju Pinnick-led NFF. FIFA has repeatedly warned Nigeria and other countries to ensure there was no government interference in football. Such interference leads to suspension of a country’s national team from global and continental football.

He has sold his soul for 30K...simply brain dead...People have been killed and he is talking about opposition... When his family is slaughtered, mother raped, children beheaded, and the president is saying herdsmen use sticks..let me know if he will defend him...Anyone who sees the killings going on and the first thought is to defend the Govt is simply brain dead...

Did you condemn the killing, but rather, your problem is opposition.

Of course they(MURIC) would be quiet about the killings going on..shows you how disgusting they are...When it comes to hijab and falz music...they start issuing threats...A time will come when Buhari, MURIC, Mayeti Allah and others that aid killings will feel the pain they've caused this country and pay for their crimes... By then it will be too late for them...I hope Buhari lives to feel the pain when his people are on the receiving end and when he is powerless to do anything.at that point will he understand how it feels

I don't know how much they pay you to defend them...it's simply case of children of the oppressed defending their oppressors while children of the oppressors with no known occupation or source of living dont even bother defending..rather they ride 80M power bike and have society weddings... Continue defending your oppressors...I thank God you will also feel the heat of Buharis incompetence too including members of your family... Continue defending lies because of 30K.... Children of the oppressors will not even bother defending their own...they leave that for people like you.... Children of the Oppressed defending their oppressors....Work Hard and earn your money

Politics / Re: Omo-Agege's Thug Who Snatched The Senate's Mace In Action (Photos) by cdialauka: 11:09pm On Apr 18, 2018
For those who may not know, the National Assembly Complex is not a place you just casually stroll in as you want and pick up an item as important as the Mace. It is the 2nd Arm of Government with adequate security 24 hours. To gain access into the Complex, you will pass through one of the most time-consuming, energy-sapping, rigorous screenings available anywhere in Nigeria and a tag assigned to you after you must have provided details of which office you're going to and a confirmation gotten from same office that you're expected (unless you're going to submit a letter).

For a group of thugs to have gained access into the Assembly Complex and even passed through another layer of security by the Chamber's entrance, a high-powered Official must have granted them clearance. Someone far above Senator Omo-Agege and who can give senior police officers directives.

We all know the Senate just yesterday commenced investigations into a $462m unappropriated expenditure by the Buhari govt to purchase helicopters. The CBN Governor and Minister of Defence were alleged to have been summoned to explain why such huge amounts would be taken from the Treasury without proper approvals and paid to an unknown company in the US in the guise of purchasing helicopters.

This act of attacking a Senate that was in session and carting away it's symbol of authority looks every inch like what was planned by the people who don't want to be exposed. Senator Omo-Agege wouldn't be the first Senator to be suspended and he knows invading the National Assembly with thugs won't make his case any better. He must have been contacted to use his grouse with the Senate leadership as a guise to cover the real intent. They want to destroy the National Assembly to cover their evil. They want to plunge us into a full blown dictatorship. Please don't take my words for it but watch how this matter will be handled by the APC government. Watch to see if the Senator and his thugs will be punished.

If you're in Nigeria, prepare for the dramas coming up in the days and weeks ahead as the elections approach. It will be interesting and I pray none of us becomes a victim of the games ahead.

adudu208:
This is an indictment on the security agencies. That thugs and miscreants can gain entry into the chamber and made away with the Mace indicates that either the executive arm of government is in tacit support of them or some elements dissatisfied with status quo are trying to instigate choas in other to truncate our democracy.

To imagine that the DSS, Police and other security agencies that have responsibility to guard the National Assembly complex and provide security for the Senators went to sleep while the drama played out is curious and highly condemnable.

Unfortunately, some dimwits from Delta State have allowed themselves to be used as pawns in this macabre drama.
