I do not know if it's an issue of personal preference but this Civic...it serves me so well. Highly fuel efficient and rugged. If you talk about low ground clearance I can understand, but I love it that way cos while driving it back then there's no corner I fear to enter on the express. I have a friend that is still using his since 2019. I'm not saying anything on the price though. It's left for the buyer and seller to wriggle that out

The gear is way to expensive.assuming dollar was like 800naira,ehen u fit see gear for 200k,250 max.but na prado.prado na big man car,and the worth might not exceed 800k in reality but u know omo igbo go inflate price by 200% which might end up being 2.5m.

I don't even have plans of repairing as I know there's no guarantee from past experiences but sometimes you just want to hear other people's experiences also just in case. As for advice of selling as scrap, it's not even an option. Once again thanks for your input.

Maybe that car wasn't registered before. People drive cars that are not registered because they intend to sell the car soon. An unregistered car value is higher than a registered car. Or a fraudulent official registered the car for him again

Ask people working in licensing office if it's possible or not. What they need is the receipt and change of ownership agreement from the previous owner and they delete the previous record of registration with the old plate and old name while re-registering the vehicle with the new plate and new name. But as I said earlier you don't have to take my words for it, ask someone working in licensing office that you know.

Yes that has been done but it's still the same thing. When you shift to reverse, it just stay there with nothing happening and could be there for 3-4min until you rev hard before it eventually engage it.

Hello to everyone. I have this 2006 Prado 4 cylinder petrol engine with gear issue precisely slippage. I would like to know if the issue can be fixed, do you have any mechanic with track record in fixing gear that can fix it, lastly how much does it cost to get a new gear?

The Corolla is highly overhyped. When I was driving a 2007 civic, I once borrowed a friend who travelled with it. He came back shouting "wow this car beats a Corolla in fuel economy even with AC on throughout and some terrible traffic on the way" he was so so shocked and I was just smiling. I can't remember the price of fuel then but in 2019 ( I think 145/ltr) my brother took the car from Abeokuta to Okitipupa (after Ore in Ondo state) on #5000 fuel and came back with it and the car is not even stick shift but automatic

Yes it does change because the VIN is digitally encoded in the ECU so when you change ECU you need to reprogram the car VIN into the new ECU and delete the original one the ECU carries.

Hello guys, I have found this thread very useful. Obviously, I came here because of numerous stops by the police due to the tinted glass matter. I had a tint permit, but that still did not stop them from obtaining me because of lack of medical report.
So I have decided to remove the tint. My question now is, does removing the tint on the 4 doors suffice or should I also remove the tint on the back windscreen? Some people have assured me that I don't need to remove that as long as the tint on the doors have been removed.

Maybe what the person meant by that is the k20 engine pump. I watched a few YouTube video where they replaced the k24 engine oil pump in our own accord to k20 oil pump but the question is can our own mechanics here do that cos they did some little filing to the edge so it can lay properly.
I have even decided to get a new toks engine altogether cos my mechanic don open this my engine countless time. It's so annoying that I will change oil pump today by next week it's already whining again. If I should buy another one now it will make the 3rd oil pump I'm buying at 60k every time and in another one week it starts making noise again.

I'm so sorry bro, I have discarded them. I got a new engine and sold the old one and every other thing as scrap.

I drove my accord from Abeokuta to Lagos last week with loud sound like the engine want to tear apart at some point still did as much as 100+km/h and the car still made it to Lagos. When engine was opened up one or two metal bearings had detached completely grinding within the engine all along. It was a miracle the car got to Lagos but then such miracles only happen with a Honda engine.

Boss wetin do your oil pump? I don't understand the oil pump for my 08 accord coupe o. After the original one I have replaced twice with tokunbo o....they start making whining noise that becomes so serious and loud within one week of replacement

Contact Gazzuzz he will get you a foreign used engine of any type and model.. It may be expensive than normal market price but you will get the mileage and direct from the conatianer.

Yes it is having bearing and metal issue. So no need to waste money on working the engine again.

That's a separate issue entirely from the ringing. I'm guessing that probably the bearing and metal are about going before the ringing or probably too much torque when bolting then down while coupling engine in the process of ringing.

My fear about buying the 08-11 accord engine is that the direct toks is not common cos of the cost so it's actually rebuilt engines that are sold as toks. This is according to one of the dealers in Ladipo who told me he's being sincere with me cos of closeness.

Hello car gurus, so I have been wondering for some time now. The 2.4L engine in Honda Accord 03-05 (EOD) is almost the same with the one in Accord 08-12(Evil spirit). In fact I can't spot the difference aside th throttle of 2008 upward being drive by wire (what our mechanics call turtless).

So my question is can the EOD engine be installed in an Evil spirit Accord? Has anyone done that before? Thanks

I use the same card but 4 plug coupe. First thing first. Get it scanned. My car once behaved that way and a scan showed it's the knock sensor which is under the intake manifold for the 4cyl. I don't know where it is for the 6cyl. Plugging it back in properly fixed issue.

If it's the bearings on the tripod that has broken or worn...then there will be need to buy a new set, or a new tripod altogether. The mechanic will know on inspection.
If it's an engine mount that is broken then it needs to be changed.

That's the drift. It might just be something minor. My Accord doesnt accelerate well from idle, and then i hear some funny sounds when its trying to change gears. I don jus taya as i dey laidis. Wish i could do a lil of what you did to yours.

What type of sound and where do you suspect it's coming from. It might be that there is allowance in the tripod inside the inner shaft cup or so. It could also be that a mount(engine or gear) or two has broken. Everyone of this I have experienced with my previous Honda's which cause funny sound when the gear is changing.

And sometimes it might be something as simple as an overlooked sensor. My 08 accord too has also been giving me head ache. Looks like the engine want to die. Checked everything and couldn't place the issue, I was already frustrated and felt like throwing it away. Then mechanic decided to check fuel pump and low and behold the filter is completely clogged and even with traces of water in it. So we change the pump and engine run better but still not as it should engine would still not rev beyond 2500rpm before rev limiter cut in and idle is as though engine has 10% life left. Meanwhile I have this portable Bluetooth OBD scanner which I use Everytime to scan my car and it's recently started being up MAP sensor. I googled and showed mechanic the MAP sensor(not like he doesn't know it but doesn't know that's what it is called) told me that sensor is just for engine not to consume fuel nothing else. Well I got sensor myself for 8k fixed it and lo and behold my car just de cruise like aeroplane.
