simpleseyi: This is why there is always a good side of every bad thing. I schooled in the South-West but served in Anambra. During our camp period, there were graduates from one of the notorious schools in the country (I don't want to mention the school's name), cultists from this notorious school brought in arms and ammunition to the orientation camp. For this reason, Soldiers, Man-O-War and other para-military respected themselves so that the graduate cultists will not embarrass and disgrace them(Soldiers, Man-O-War and other para-military). We all were like kings. Even me, wey never see gun before dey pose as if I get sub-machine gun for pocket. That is one advantage of cultism.

contrary to what you thought to be true i believe the soldiers only decided to soften simply because they don't want a confrontation that may lead to spilling all you corpers blood in the camp after spending so much time and money in school. Who be cultist with gun when soldiers bring them madness

Was discussing the airforce with a friend today...that has been a fantasy since the days of AIRFORCE 1 ( the movie).
Tho I'm into computer software...I hope I succeed in taking that into the defense academy.

of course you can get into the military as a software engineer, you know the truth is the military does not put graduates who entered thru DSS into combatant formations the last set of graduate to be put in combatant formations were Nzeogwu, Ademoyega them who staged the first Nigerian coup guess you could see one of the key reason.
So most officers thru short service are adjutant(officers who work mostly in office). However if you choose the direct short service combatant and not short service commission you could be a combatant officer
