You're indeed welcome on board this progressive movement. The link you provided revealed an indeed touching revelation of the brutality of the so called colonial masters, imagine subjecting fellow human being to such an humiliating treatment all because you want to cart away there resources and impose your government over them. But one thing that i know is we're close to being liberated totally all we need is to combine efforts to bring Africa out of dependence on her past colonial masters who are hell bent on holding her down by every means, to build a continent where poverty is hard to find and war is far from us hence removing every excuse of humanitarian intervention. I know together we can and will make it happen.

If you do not have a vision, your reality will always be determined by others perception- Melanee Addison.
Africans for how long shall our reality be determined by some we believe they are superior to us because of lack of vision on the part of our leaders and even ourselves? For how long shall our reality be determined for us that we can do nothing but depend on the rest of the world and we take it just like that because we've no vision for ourselves? Shall we forever continue like this? Let us wake, let us show it to the world that we'll no more accept to be looked down upon, let us show the world that we've vision and we'll bring our vision to reality. Join the progressive movement for rebranding Africa, your individual vision with that of other can take Africa to the next level. Within the past two decades we've witness the rise of nations that nobody could have predicted will rise and develop at such drastic rate. China,India and the likes. I don't believe it came by chance but some people must have wake up that their nation must develop and be referenced by the world. No wonder everybody is now looking at China as probably the next superpower. If such development can occur in these places then who says African nations won't rise, its all about we the people rising up to the task,we're endowed naturally with everything we need to stand tall, we need to unite and tackle our problem the African way because i don't believe the chinese and indians sort a foreign policy or strategy to solve their problem. This is a patriotic call to all African brothers. Together we can make the change happen, together we can industrialize Africa, together we can alleviate our poverty and together we can build a better Africa for all to leave.

To actually rebrand the image of Africa would be to change the way history is taught. You can't change the image of Africa to a more positive one when people are constantly still portraying pre-colonial Africa as the "Heart of Darkness" and as a place which had no civilzations south of the Sahara Desert. It's an uphill battle against 300 years of distortion. Good luck with your organization, but you oryour organization would need to put out a major work and do years of research to highlight the different cultures and achievements of African societies and synthesize them all in one impactful book. Most of the information that shows that pre-colonial Africa was not the uncreative wasteland and uncultivated jungle it was made out to be is in too many disparate sources and I haven't seen any real good book that goes into detail about all of them. Anyway, like I said, good luck.
thanks for your advice good luck to you too.

Peep this analogy out in terms of  logic:

KINGPIN introduced drugs into harlem and his 'diabolical plan" was to subjugate the oprressed black people and keep them in control so he can exploit them.

He distributed the drug via drug dealers to all street corners in harlem. He cut the drug dealers a good deal to purchase his drugs to SELL to their people.

in turn these drug dealers formed mini mafia syndicates with middle men soldiers, regimes and corners they controlled.

There is a turf war between two major groups on who is to control the entire supply and distribution of drugs. They start terrorizing their neighbourhoods, killing indiscrimnately mass number of civilians

The KINGPIN notices that his business will be interupted by this rift. He strategizes and notices that siding one particuar group will benefit than the other. He props this side up with weapons and information about the other group. With the help of his intervention, one group wins. The drug trade continues. Th KINGPIN gets his cut.

Using inference.
Who is to blame for the mayham being caused. The KINGPIN, the Regime, the soldiers, the people?
If the Kingpin let the turf war go on, in what way would that benefit the people involved?
If we are informed that there is a diabolical mastermind behind the inflitration of the drugs into our community, how does that equip us to make changes?
What changes are necessary to salvage the community. Do we revolt? Do we talk about it? Do we rant and rave? What is the end goal?

Apportioning blame is all well and good but that's self defeating logic because at the end of it all. The system is still the same. You haven't changed the variables. THe players are the same and the situation is the same.

How would you approach a resolution to this problem?
that's exactly the situation in Africa and that's why i said the lizard will not enter the wall unless there is a hole in it. The kingpin ,regime and the soldier are to be blamed but if the people know what is good for them they better unite and find solution to there problem. But the problem most've been so blindfolded that they do not see the problem let alone find solutions. the truth of the matter is you understand point well what is happening but most of the people argueing in line with you just don't see the true picture of thing because from your analogy you assert neo-colonialism just that its our leaders that are selling us out

Just a quick point, sir.

There is nothing necessarily wrong in taking sides, as long as you retain your objectivity and intellectual honesty. When there is a clash been good and bad, between an election winner and an a goon who wants to override the people's wishes, between saving lives and bloodletting, it is wrong not to take sides.
Sir i chose not to take side in the crisis in ivory coast because i see no reason why i should take side in a conflict i don't have first hand info, all i've is propaganda from pro Gbagbo and pro Quattara. The only thing i'm not ruling out is neo-colonialism effect in all this issue from history the western English,Dutch, Portugese e.t.c left there shore to discover places that could probably serve as market for there growing economy, and at the same time get raw material for there industries back at home probably you know that the inhabitant of US today are not the one's inhabiting it now the red indians and in Africa they met people they believe are sub-human because of reason we all know but as the world get developed ways of colonising also get developed and that's what we're experiencing now: neo-colonialism
the only thing is just that the lizard will not enter the wall if there is no hole in it and this hole is our bad leaders be it the dictators or those via stealing there money and saving it in foreign accounts.
As regards taking side i hope you've seen all the different documents posted by different people like the US senators stuff saying the election was rigged in the favor of Quattara and the Gen resigning his position because he doesn't want to be part of an unjustified cause, but the truth is i'm aware of it that in situations like this propaganda is a weapon more effective than even guns.
I'm highly interested , Action speaks louder anyway . I have learn a lot from both of you and sincerely speaking the real problem we are facing in Africa is unity
We need to solve our ethnicity problem and probably from there we can move forward. I'm very disappointed that Africans still remains under Westerns tight belt.
you're highly welcome Sami, if we look deep we'll see even our lack of unity is as a result of some colonial effect for example i was reading 'why we struck' a story of the Nigeria first coup written by the only surviving core planner of the coup, he explained how the british from the begining add systematically divided Nigeria in such a way that North was amalgamated as one region despite the fact that its not only the Hausa/Fulani that dominate the North but the North east comprise of the Kanuris that were never conquered by the Fulanis but divided the south into western and eastern region simply because
1.there system of ruling was totally successful in the North cause they don't question the leaders authority come what may but partly successful in the west cause although the ruler has absolute power but there are still checks and balances in place while their system of rule was just failure in the east since they don't believe in absolute control by one man but rather a council of elder hence they see that this people are better one so that they will always carry the majority while the south will be splited in any election owning to allegiance to either you're from the eastern or western region this will guarantee that the North will always take the federal power amidst the division in south hence they will still have control over Nigeria even after independence since the North'll always obey then even after independence. Can you see the well planned strategy of divide and rule.
But now i want us all to strategise this organisation together and not leave me alone to it. Okay let me put this since last year i've been working on an organisation in my school Nigerian Youth Coalition for National Reformation i've been able to get some of my fellow students to see my view but sincerely everything is still in a state of void, can we bring out anything from this.
Foreign AffairsRe: Breaking News: Gbagbo Arrested. by cdoffx(m): 9:47am On Apr 12, 2011
Comrade this issue is more than just seeing the story from angle and then conclusion. Most of our African leaders are so bad but at the same time neo-colonialism is still far from leaving the shore of Africa just that its there our leaders that make it possible now way or the other. The problem is no matter how authentic the info we think we've, all the parties involved will make the info suite them that's just natural. Pro Quattara will use propaganda and pro Gbagbo will also use propaganda we'll only pick side base on the side that appeal to our sympathy. Cap mentioned IBB and MKO issue lets sincerely ask ourselves where are the international community then IBB is military MKO is democrat should we not think they should've come to help install democracy? So what went wrong? Probably somethings hidden to us all yet known to them. So the case in Ivory Coast is definitely not as we all think just that its only those directly involved that knows what is at stake for them.

Roforofo:
Some Africans are generally silly and like deceiving themselves. In Nigeria a man like Babangida should be lynched in the streets yet people hail him as a big man. Same goes for Ernest Shonekan, Jeremiah Useni, TY Danjuma, many many ex governors and military men. Instead of facing the evil within foolish Africans blame the White man for all their problems. It is why almost every African nation run by Africans is useless, Sudan, Nigeria, Gabon, Burkina Faso, Chad, Niger, Ivory Coast, etc. Yet the same Africans all desperate to escape and live in the West and they all want to get European and American passports. Nonsense people.
there is just no difference between our bad leader and their western counterpart. The western capitalise on our foolish leader to cart away our riches simple. The only difference is just that while our leader are ruining Africa they are using the resources of Africa to boost their economy. No one is blaming them for our problem but it not gainsaying that they help compound it.

Foreign AffairsRe: Breaking News: Gbagbo Arrested. by cdoffx(m): 10:41pm On Apr 11, 2011
Ofcourse we all neo-colonialism in this issue but the truth of the matter is that its our leaders in Africa that makes it easy for all there western autocrat to flex there muscle here in Africa and it would've also been nice if any military aid to any African nation is directly under the AU and the AU determines the extent of involvement but that not the case since all these leaders are just the same western puppets. Just a pity that the few one that wants to be different are not taking the right steps

thanks so much, if i got you right what you're saying is a kind of organisation that will firstly acknowledge the diverse ethnic group around let each one work together closely on her own, then integrate the diverse ideas in such way the system looks like a confederate.
From this organisation the voice of the people can be effectively communicated to the outside world imagine if we've something like that on ground after Gbagbo has been arrested the whole people tell the french forces thank you,you can now withdraw all your troop we'll settle the rest within ourselves, rather than they coming to impose one puppet that will dance to there silly beats, i'm not saying opposition guy is, i'm only using that case as an example.
My humble question is will you just stop being advisor and let work out this thing together, i know you're as passionate about this issue as i'm and every other person here with the love of Africa at heart.

Organisations set up to help Africa such as NEPAD are also responsible for dampening the enthusiasm of Africans towards technology.  I just think that creation coupled with the advancement of technology should be promoted and integrated into the African way of life.  Most of their focus is on Agriculture, which is understandable however the unfortunate truth is that African governments are simply not investing enough money! In reality Africans need to take more responsibility too the government cannot do it all; is it too much for African people to initiate small projects which may attract public or private investment?
the influential ones among the Africa people prefer to invest in some foreign countries rather than invest in the growth of their own nation.

AjanleKoko:
That's a reasonable question.
Those institutions were systematically destroyed by the criminals who have been in governance since 1985. Let me proceed to list specific criminal acts perpetuated against Nigerians by these criminals.

-  Firstly, looting NEPA's revenues to pay for various adventures in Liberia, Sierra Leone, without any re-investment into the company. Ditto NITEL. Ditto FAAN, Nigeria Airways, and so many other parastatals that need funds to survive. Even as recent as 2003, 2 banks - AFEX bank and AIB - were wrecked of shareholders' funds to pay for an adventure in Sao Tome. One of those bank's CEOs was rewarded with a Group Finance Director position in NNPC.

- Criminal neglect of the railways in order to promote road transport haulage, the forte of the Dangotes, Dantatas, and the rest of them. Some of these men are hailed as Nigeria's 'entrepreneurs'.

- Abolishing OBJ's indigenization decree, as well as import control, allowing for used junk to be imported from just about anywhere. The early 1990s saw the advent of 'Tokunbo' everything, from pressing irons to fridges, freezers, and TVs, while the likes of Thermocool, Philips, and Adebowale Industries started to struggle with a number of factors I will continue to list below:

- Systematic abolition of petroleum subsidies and continued increases in pump price of petroleum products, despite an astronomical climb in crude revenues since 1990. Add that to the beginning of systems failure and supply of gas to the thermal plants owned by NEPA starting from 1991.

- Indiscriminate allocation of oil resources to cronies of the government. People like Kema Chikwe and Patricia Etteh own oil blocks in Nigeria.

-Total neglect of solid minerals saw the death of Ajaokuta and Itakpe projects. Go check the website of the Ministry of Solid Minerals. Do you know that there are solid minerals in every state in Nigeria? Ever heard of the Ajaokuta buy-back scam? You can google it up. Since everybody was making so much cash from oil, there was no need to bother with all those solid minerals.

-Introduction of ridiculous import regime and tariffs, such that Togo and Cotonou are now preferred destinations for shipping from Europe and America.

-And finally, governance failure, IBB's failed 40 billion naira transitions, from 1990, 1992, 1993, 6 years of Abacha, and 12 years of PDP looting.

Tell me how any meaningful development can be made in any country with those extenuating circumstances. Tell me how any manufacturing initiative can survive with all these things happening. These are all well-documented, so take time to go and research them all. Find out how Unilever, Dunlop, Michelin, among others, have left Nigeria for good. Do your research.
i don't need to do any research. All what you've pointed out here that you said no longer exist are simply industrialisation and when you talk about industrialisation you're talking about technology. So what are you saying?
Foreign AffairsRe: Will Technology Solve Africa's Problems? by cdoffx(m): 6:31pm On Apr 11, 2011
@Ajanlekoko
now tell me where all those thing are now? You've not just answer my question assuming the trend continue like those day will Nigeria be where it is now. Simple economics says when you consume more than you produce, problem. When you import more than you export, problem. When you are supposed to process your raw materials and send them out finished good but rather choose to export raw and import finished, your economy sucks. So which one of this is not happening now? Just answer that

2muchlogic:
Well, I can see where cdoffx is coming from, Nigeria may have manufactured more in the olden days but it was unimpressive at best and we can see the results today.  If Nigeria was manufacturing substantial amounts of goods and services, the country would have a high number of exports too match. Name me ONE car manufactured in Nigeria that has been exported (NOT ASSEMBLED ) Name me ONE reliable Electronic brand manufactured in nigeria NOT ASSEMBLED ) that has been exported.

Investement or ITT, who built Ajaokuta? And all the other complexes you have mentioned above? It was Europeans not Nigerians.  How many Nigerians did they employ? despite all the so called Engineers we have in that country,  this still happens today.  Foreign contractors employ their own nationals and build basic infrastructure such as roads and bridges.  This proves most Africans have no proven, practical skills – they are just book warriors.  Even when the exchange rate was N2 to £1 the infrastructure left by the British colonial rulers was crumbling while the politicians squabled and looted. The economy was in better shape up to the early 80s due to the foundation left by the British, since their exodus we can see the value added by Nigerians – nothing.

There will never be good leadership until Africans STOP practicing a system of government that is alien to them.
thanks for coming to my aid. You know sometimes we're contended with old glories which is not supposed to be. We should always constantly look to the future, how the future will outstand the past and present.
