Bro, this is a very silly post from you. You are fond of arguing blindly without calming down to understand what the other person is telling you. Let me first address the silliness of your accusations about my person. I have gotten my student visa. And I did it fair and square. No gimmicks. If you had only calm your hot blood and check my previous posts, you will won't utter this nonsense you have uttered here. When you make a post and someone tries to correct you, rather than calming down to understand what the other person is saying, what you are concerned about is how to rush to respond to prove you are not wrong. You resorted to an ad hominem in this case rather than read the post to understand what I'm saying. My initial post was intended to educate you generally on how the UK study visa works because you obviously have no idea. Otherwise you won't have said a family application or spousal visa is easier to get with Canada than with the UK. You were comparing Canada spousal open work permit with that of the UK and you said it is easier with Canada and even said Canada allows you work full time with any employer with open work permit. I initially responded to that post to tell you that it's the same with UK. Then Osemigho came up to try to educate you further but your response was Canada open work permit is easy and straightforward if he knows his ways. I felt the need to chip in (a big mistake in hindsight because you obviously can't hold your own in a proper debate without resulting to insults) and I highlighted reasons why it's easier with UK. Now, here are some of the facts: 1. UK won't scrutinize for home ties. So study visa with accompany dependents gets approve a lot all the time. 2. UK won't scrutinize for lump sum. And again (whether you like it or not), people borrow proof of funds for it until their visa is out or till they land. You can assume whatever you like from this. I'm purely stating the facts. 3. With Canada, even when people get Mpower loan that covers their entire stay with all the documentation, they will still need to show some funds of their own. 4. Processing time is shorter with UK. 5. You don't need to present a truck load of documents with UK like we usually have to do with Canada. I can go on and on. Now the question is why then does it appear that Canada is most people first choice. The answer is simple. The pathway to permanent residency and citizenship is easier with Canada. And that trumps every other thing. So people are willing to go through the rigours that Canada puts us through to get their Visa. You will have every document required by Canada, have all the proof of funds even pay tuition but you will still have to explain yourself like your life depends on it in an LOE. And could still be rejected. Tell me how this is easier than UK. Most people who couldn't stand the rigours usually run back to apply to UK and figure out their future from there. I will stop here. But a final note. If I wanted to borrow funds to show proof of fund to go to UK, I would have done it a long time ago. I won't have come back to apply to Canada 8 years after they refused me or wait all those years till I'm financially capable to do it fair and square. So next time don't come on a public forum and assume the worst of people you know nothing about. ShowYoung: All your concerns are on Proof of Funds and Home Ties.
If POF and and Home Ties make you think Canadian Visa is harder to get, then you are not playing by the rules and you are not ready to make your ways right.
You even mentioned here that people borrow money and put in account for 30 days (refer to a part of your post bolded above). This sounds unprofessional and dishonest of you, it corroborates the fact that you are not ready to mend your ways. In fact, this is an evidence that you are one of the people giving genuine Nigerians problems in getting Canadian visa. Your words encourage IRCC to make Nigerian processing time longer. In Poland, visa application and decision take 3 - 5 days despite backlogs. You are one of the people giving them evidence to treat Nigerians shabbily. Kindly desist from this kind of behaviour.
You even say I shouldn't base my conclusion on what I read here, who do you think is talking based on what I read here? Perhaps you don't know that around less than 1% of people applying for Canadian study visa are those coming on Nairaland. |

Bro, you are the first person I will hear say it's easier to get any category of Canadian visa than the UK equivalent and I don't think that's true. Any category of application is easier to get with UK but it's more expensive. You see all these 4 months statement of account and lump sum scrutiny that Canada does, UK don't do that. It is why people will borrow the lump sum POF for UK, leave it in the account for about 30 days that is required, print statement and submit their application. All these home tie that we have to proof beyond reasonable doubt with Canada does not occur with UK application. Same as all the truck load of documents that we have to submit to proof ourselves for Canada. Drawbacks for UK for me are: 1. The application fee is expensive. Visa and IHS fee is over a million in total. 2. There's no smooth path to permanent residency after post study visa in UK unlike Canada. 3. Also, UK doesn't appeal to me like North America does. Canada's pathway to permanent residency is smoother but to scale the hurdle of Visa approval from Nigeria isn't, including that of family application or SOWP. Do not base your conclusion on the family application testimonies you read here. It's about ratio of successful application to the number of applications in total. And UK grants more without people having to pass through the eye of a needle. ShowYoung: Bro, it's easy and straight forward only if you know the way.
Many people here are testifiers. |

No, you won't be required to pay the transmission fee. Onaya: Hello bro,
I did my biometrics in Abuja and would be sending my passport for stamping to the same office. Will I be required to pay the transmission fee, or just the courier service fee alone?
I'd be glad to get more clarifications on this. Thank you! |

The bolded is same in the UK. And UK is issuing student and dependent visa like it's sachet water. The drawback for UK is the fact there's no smooth path to permanent residency after post study visa. ShowYoung: Yes, it is easier in Canada than in the UK. The accompanying spouse will be issued open work permit which means the spouse can work in any job anywhere and for any employer while the other studies.
Possibly, the one holding an open work permit might get higher chance of getting the family PR. |

2. Don't waste your time with OCMT. If IRCC says they don't offer PGWP eligible Programs, then they don't. Look for another school if PGWP is your goal. OneLocalMan: Hello House, please i need a little clarification.
This is my first time trying to apply to a Canadian university, i have been doing some deep research to make sure i try to get things right with the help of the gurus in the house.
My Question are:
1. First i realized Mpower has limited number of school they offer student loan to, can someone please recommend other facility for student loan other than Mpower for Canada student. others i saw only offer to USA student.
2. Has anybody ever graduated from Ontario College of Management & Technology and gotten their PGWP ? it is stated on IRCC website that people who graduate from OCMT are not eligible for PGWP, i would like to find out if anyone has been able to get through with IRCC and the PGWP.
3. Lastly, what are the chances of getting an admission with second class lower for someone with up to 3years work experience from a university rather than college.
4. Does the number of weeks matter when getting your PGWP, i mean can someone with 8months - 1year get their PGWP, i know the longer the program time, the better they can get their extended PGWP, so does the timeframe of a program really matter ? if yes, please be kind to explain different scenario to me
5. When going for Upfront Medicals, what type of test do this hospital carry out, is it malaria test or some type of other stuff, perhaps a kind reply is needed here too.
**** Most important Question is Number ONE **** but i would appreciate other replies
Thanks. |

Abi2022: I have an active Express Entry Profiles but did not state same in my LOA or Study Plan when applying for my study permit. I assumed they are separate applications Can this affect my application negatively? Is it required to declare? It won't. You correctly noted that they are separate application. Express entry profile is just a profile anyway. Not a visa application. Below is what is at the bottom of my express entry profile. I didn't even talk about it in my LOE. My passport stamped with my study visa is currently chilling where I kept it. So you are good.

Don't panic. You are actually in a good position. Your finances and assets are solid. Just ensure you write a solid SOP and explain the heck out of your purpose of visit and home ties. If you write a good SOP in addition to what you have below, I believe you will get it. So stay positive. 7COLOURS: Dear NL Family,
I am planning to submit my application this Friday and I am seriously scared, worried and nervous. I can't even give explanation as to why I'm having this feeling.
I'm planning to go for a year course and tuition is 18,000 Cad out of which 10,000 Cad has been paid.
I have close to 20M in my account and a fixed deposit of 15M that will be matured before my school resumption date.
I am gainfully employed and also have a registered business with CAC. I'm self sponsor and my course of study here in Nigeria is related to my 17 years work experience and what I'm going to study in Canada. I have 2 properties here in Lagos.
Planning to travel with my kids, no one to leave them with.
I have 4 siblings all here in Nigeria at the moment with an aged mom.
What are my chances of getting PPR?
Is this feeling of my okay?
I'm wondering how I'm going to cope after submitting if I'm already feeling this way now that I'm yet to submit. Hmmm, na wa o
I wish everyone expecting PPR goodnews
Pls how can I get this off my mind? I'm withdrawing from people and all I think about now is IRCC |

Transmission fee is N9,410. mrkingz: Hi everyone,
Thank you for all the help everyone brings in here. I am a product of the wealth of information stocked up here on nairaland. Coincidentally, May 27 2021 was the day I got my share of hot breakfast of study visa denial served steaming hott! Omo! But the faith and positive energy I got from here pulled me through. Went for JR (my timeline is on my profile) and came out victorious! Today, 1 year after, it's my 8th month in CA and just this week my family visa application was approved - SOWP, 2 SV, 1VV! THIS IS GOD! It only ends in praise when we persevere. I wish you nothing less than victory.
So, today I have a problem; VFS rejected the passports sent to their abuja office today o! The DHL customer care said that ''a certain document was missing''.
Abeg, what could be missing? Anyone in this position? N3800 transmission fee was paid for a family of 4 for a 2way courier. All other document was there - colored photocopies of passport datapage, PPR letters, yellow strip, consent form - my wife signed on behalf of the kids, and a paper bearing all the names of the family members.
I count on you for a feedback.
And i'm open to help anyone needing help and add my quota to your success story as well. Private chat me. Thanks |

Josh3322: I did my biometrics in Lagos and I'm sending it to the visa office in Lagos also. Okay. Perhaps you should do what they are asking you to do then. In my case, I submitted the BVL as I don't have any slip because I did my Biometrics many years ago. VFS called me a few days later that I have to pay the N9,410 transmission fee. So maybe that's the new rule if one can't find the Biometric slip. |

Lol. Internet Marketer. Best believe there's no friend and this is just copywriting to sell a product. If you private chat this person below, they are going to try to sell you a digital product. Don't waste your money, everything they are going to sell to you is on this thread from page 1. CeceTravels: HELP! My student visa was denied again:This was the cry of a friend who reached out to me on facebook.
This friend of mine has applied for a study visa to Canada before, but her visa was denied for reasons she is unaware of. I had previously advised her to learn the reasons for her refusal and to understand the steps required in obtaining a visa before applying for a second time, but she claimed she had it under control until she informed me that her visa had been refused yet again
Studying in Canada is a great experience but Knowing how to apply for a student visa can be overwhelming especially if you have no prior experience. I'll be mentioning few factors you should consider when applying for a student visa.
Gathering your documentation is one of the most important things to do when applying for a student visa and it is done by; 1)Receiving an acceptance letter from a designated learning institution(DLI): To apply for a student visa to Canada, you must first get an acceptance letter from the school that will be hosting you.
2)Provide proof of your ability to pay for tuition and housing: This shows that you have the financial means for paying your tuition and living expenses in Canada before enrolling. This should contain proof of student loans from a bank or bank statement from the last 4-6 months, or a letter from the sponsoring person or school, depending on which one you'll be applying.
3)Have a valid international passport: According to the Canadian High Commission, you must have a passport valid for the duration of your intended stay in Canada.
4)Present a letter of explanation as to why you're studying in Canada:You must explain why you are studying in Canada, list the course you plan to take, and demonstrate that you will return to your home country once you have completed your studies (this is vital). If you are unable to write a convincing statement of purpose, seek guidance from an expert.
5)Prepare 2 passport-size pictures to include with your application: This should be recent pictures of you. All of your facial expressions in the images should be neutral, and you should be facing forward against a plain background.
At this point, I'm going to stop. This isn't all tho; there are still a lot of factors to consider but I can't go into it now.
If your visa has previously been denied, don't be too hard on yourself; there's obviously something you're not doing correctly. You must discover the reasons for the visa officer's refusal; this is important; do not be like my friend, who failed to exercise adequate caution |

But as I dey like this, I no fit afford that kind money in just dat shikini period of time. I'm thinking of deferring to January. My question now is that, will me deferring my admission to January increase the due date of payment. Please I need any amount of inputs I can get. I believe if you defer, the new LOA will contain the new conditions. So you should see the new due date. But if you are curious to know when the new due date will be before you defer, then you should mail them and ask them. |

Are there approved hospitals for medicals in P.h? Book your medicals with IOM before you book your Biometrics so you can plan the trip together. The date you will get for your medicals will help you determine the date you will book for your Biometrics. Book medicals here: https://mymedical.iom.int/apps/omas/#_frmHome.You will most likely not get a favourable date for the medicals. Things don change gan. When I came back to this thread, I had to read and understand the whole process again. I had to read Frankrobin's post from 2018 to understand how to arrange the documents and the sections to upload them. The Language sef don change. Back then we use to say " chop TRV" instead of PPR because you have to carry your Passport by yourself to CDHC for stamping but now you send it by courier. OG or newbie, you have to read and update yourself. Things change fast. Osemigho: Nobody dey spoonfeed then. The funny part is that people read and still tender documents submitted after approval. Ghost readers and "how can I send my passport? With no documents submitted" is the new approach. Some OGs Don notice am turn their knowledge to business. I no blame anyone. I came back to refresh my knowledge and had to seriously read again from August to December 2021 before advising my latest applicant. I got to know that LOE/SOP and funds style Don change Gan. It is well. |

It because the culture of spoonfeeding has become the order of the day on this thread now probably because a lot more people are trying to make a business off this thread. This wasn't the case many years ago. People will direct you to the first page or even previous parts and move on. If you still persist in asking questions that has been treated thoroughly, they ignore you. I remember asking my own first sets of newbie questions 8 years ago thinking my case is unique, LOL. Nobody answered me. I didn't need anybody to tell me to read. When I started reading I found answers to the questions I asked. I joined the thread January of that year and I didn't submit my application till April because I needed to read and understand. A large percentage of the questions asked on this thread everyday has been thoroughly treated if only people will read. DestinationCann: Sadly so but you'll not blame them. People have obviously refused to read or make use of the knowledge gathered here.
Truth is, nobody will spend their time to guide others through visa application process without getting paid for it.
People come here to ask others to "guide them through the process" and reject any referral to the 1st page. They also come here to ask questions on topics that have thoroughly been trashed. |
