The yellow card was given to me by EgyptAir alongside with my boarding passes., told to fill it and drop it with immigration. There were no requirements. Don't sweat it, it's nothing to worry about. It will be given to you at the airport.

dbeautyful:
Good read. And congrats again.

I've heard someone say the yellow card is something we get before the travel date. Please confirm this and the requirements for obtaining it. - first-time Int'l traveller God willing.

Landing Gist - Lagos to Toronto Via EgyptAir. August 9 - 10, 2022.

LAGOS AIRPORT
I got to the Lagos Airport around 8:30am. My flight was for 2pm. I had to give the security guys at the entrance 1k for them to allow my people go in with me. After my luggages went through the scanner, I gave the immigration officers that were suppose to do manual check after the scanner 1k so l can move on. Then I proceeded to Agriculture where I opened one of the luggage that had some food item for them to check. They checked and told me to go. Then I proceeded to EgyptAir stand.

EgyptAir didn't start on time for us because there were some Nigerians going on pilgrimage to Jerusalem via Egypt that they were attending to. They were the majority on our flight to Cairo. Anyways, by 10am I had cleared the EgyptAir check and checked in my bags. They weren't overweight. They asked for ArriveCan, Acceptance Letter, Enrollment Letter and School Fees Receipt.

By 10:30am, my people left and I proceeded to immigration. I was given yellow card by EgyptAir which I filled and I dropped with the immigration officers. Then I proceeded to the scanner where we will drop our carry on bags, laptops, phones, keys etc in a bowl to pass through the scanner. Now, I had the scariest moment of my life at this point. I shared this experience with family members only before now. I decided to share with you guys so you can learn from the experience. Always hold your Passport with you!

At the point of the scanner the immigration officer there asked us to put all our things in the bowl including our passport. It was just me and one Arab guy, possibly Lebanese. He could speak Yoruba and was dashing immigration guys money. So we placed our things in Separate bowls and I went ahead through the scanner but he didn't go through the scanner. The immigration officer asked him to come and he did manual check for him and he let him go.

So I exited the scanner to go collect my things. I wore my shoes, picked up my glasses, phones, wallet and Passport. Passport? My passport with the boarding pass was no where to be found. It was missing! At that moment, it felt like my world has ended and that village people caught up with me. I was in disarray and I started shouting. In the process of shouting, I kept saying it was me and the Arab guy that came to that point together and now my Passport is missing. One of the senior immigration officers approached me and asked me which guy. I turned round and and pointed at him just before he exited that place and be gone forever! The officer approached him. I don't know what he told him because I wasn't looking as I was still in disarray and lo and behold, my Passport and boarding pass resurfaced! The excuse I got is that he also has a Nigerian Passport and he mistakenly took mine. Yet his own passport was still with him. I don't buy that story but all good. God saved and delivered me already. I collected my Passport and left. Whew!

All through the rest of the journey, I held my Passport with me till I exited Toronto Pearson Airport in Canada.

CAIRO AIRPORT.
We got to Cairo around 9pm Cairo time which is 8pm Nigerian time. The Airport is bigger and finer than MMA. A bus took us to Terminal 3 and it was a long walk combined with lift and escalators to get to gate F where will be boarding to Toronto. We waited around for another 3 hours before we started boarding and took off to Toronto around 2am. They only checked our passport, boarding pass and ArriveCan here. I showed them theArriveCan receipt on the phone as the lady in Lagos had taken the only copy I printed. It was a smooth 11.5hrs journey to Toronto. The plane is alot bigger than the one that took us from Lagos to Cairo. Comfy ride all through.

TORONTO PEARSON AIRPORT
We landed in Toronto around 8am Toronto time. Now, this airport is huge. And fine and well layed out. The walk to the self service kiosk is also long but we got there. I had done my declaration ahead in the ArriveCan, so I was pretty quick at the service kiosk. I scanned my Passport, machine took my photograph and printed my receipt. We were taken to the place where will collect our study permit. Our letter of Introduction was collected and we were told to sit down. They called us one after the other. You will enter the office, the border officer will collect your passport, check your info on the system, check your visa and stamp your passport. Then your study permit will be given to you. No questions asked.
I proceeded to baggage claim. When I got there, I asked one of the officers which carousel could be carrying the baggages from EgyptAir because the carousels were so many that I didn't want to be going one by one to check. He asked his colleague on his walkie talkie. He said Carousel 7, I went there. Found my bags in 7 and then in 6. Took the train within the airport to get to Terminal 3 where the car that came to get me was parked and I was on my way.

FOOD AND ENTERTAINMENT ON THE FLIGHT.
The food was Okay. Although the Rice, chicken and sauce from Cairo to Toronto was better than Lagos to Cairo. They served us twice Lagos to Cairo and 3 times on the flight from Cairo to Lagos. I filled my time with movies that I haven't watched before. And then a little sleep, a little prayers here and there and I didn't feel bored on the flight till we got to Toronto.

It was a great journey in general. I haven't gone out yet as I only arrived yesterday and I'm still on my bed right now. It's around 8am here. But from our drive from the airport to home, I will say Canada is beautiful. May all of us that desire it experience it all in Jesus name.

PS: Don't forget to come with your universal adapter. The picture attached is what their socket looks like. Buy the one that has USB port with it. It's about 4k.

Have a great day you all!

It's a lackadaisical attitude that caused it. She wasn't checking her mail, spam folder or portal with the seriousness it deserves. If you are on this journey, your email and portal is your new social media. Check it and scroll through mindlessly like you do social media.

It is possible. I've seen it happened twice. See attached for the second time. This person got BVL, medical request and PPR on the same day. God was favouring this person but village people were after her. She didn't discover it until over a month later (Peep the date she saw and read the message compared to the date the messages dropped.)

Relax. It has been stamped. The counterfoil update you are seeing means it was stamped 4th of July. You will get it back soon.

greeners222:
Please gurus. I mailed my passport since 24th of June but I didn't include the consent letter when I mailed it from DHL. The passport was delivered 27th. So I've been worried if VFS even send it to embassy for stamping without the consent letter. But June 5th I got the corresponding letter and some updates online. Please does it look like my passport has been received and stamped already. I am tired of waiting. And am thinking of visiting there today. I have a return DHL label. I am tired of tracking it. People that has gotten there visa before. Does it look like it has been stamped..
Thanks

What's the reason for waiting to get your Passport back before buying your ticket? It will take about 15 working days(Maximum) for you to get your Passport back if you sent to VFS Lagos. So just book your flight with that knowledge. Don't wait for flight ticket to get further ridiculous before booking.

LONG POST - sorry in advance guys.

Showyoung,
The only reason I have chosen to comment on your post is so that newbies can make up their mind whether they should trust that you are competent or experienced enough to handle their applications.

Did you ever wonder how some people were able to guess that you are the one Only1boy was referring to without him mentioning your name? It's because your posturing as an expert is glaring for experienced and discerning mind to see. And they could see from your posts that you're hustling to be an agent and make money off people on this thread.

YOUR HISTORY
I dug into your history on Nairaland. You joined nairaland in 2020. Precisely the express entry thread, seeking advice on your express entry profile submission. Then in July last year, you moved over to the Study Visa thread (understandably so, since FSW draws were on hold since December 2020). You wanted to apply for a diploma course when you already have an MBA and you were worried if it will be red flag for the VO. Then silence.

Then you resurfaced on this thread in March of this year asking another newbie question about whether your POF is enough or so, stating you got admission at Fanshawe college. Through out the month of March, it's one newbie question to another from you. Then suddenly you became an expert pointing people to your signature that they can reach out to you and you can help them with their application. Credit to you, this was after you have started answering basic regurgitated questions for newbies.

Your knowledge and experience gap has shown a couple of times but you have argued your way blindly out of it.

That's your history.

WHAT I FIND FISHY ABOUT YOU

Truth be told it is not uncommon and not a crime for someone to join the thread as a newbie and then a couple of months down the line, they are knowledgeable enough to answer questions and help people because they read the thread diligently. But what I find fishy in your case includes the following:

1. You see all those newbie questions you were asking throughout the month of March? You have deleted them all and replaced them with funny stuff like "fkj", " hello", "Good morning". Almost like you were trying to wipe out that part of your history. What you didn't know is that if anyone were to use the search bar to search for your username, it will bring out your mentions where people answered those your newbie questions and the questions will still be there.
Why did you delete those your newbie questions? Is it that you want to posture as an expert and you don't want newcomers to know that you were a newbie just a few months ago?

2. You were the only one who claimed that you paid for your application in Naira and that there was naira equivalent showing when you wanted to pay for your visa application. The mentions where people were asking you how you paid in Naira is still there even though you have now deleted the post where you claimed you paid in Naira.

3. You said you used an agent to submit your application and he tried to Lord over you and you cleverly collected your login details and locked him out of your application. I want to ask how far with this application? Is it now successfully completed? Because I'm curious as to how you became so confident to want to become Visa agent when you don't even have a single testimonial of Visa success even if it's your own? I would have thought that for someone who is hustling to Japa, securing their own Visa first would be a priority and they can then use that as a testimonial to help people and maybe exchange that knowledge and experience for money if they please. But with you, it's one month you were a newbie and the next month, the hustle for money as an expert has started.

CONCLUSION
On your dealings with Only1boy, assuming your claims about asking you to falsify documents for him were to be true, one would expect that you would count your blessing (after all, you've collected 100k), and wash hands off him and his wahala. But you were still heckling him for a balance when no application was submitted for him, claiming intellectual property. You probably should go and research into what intellectual property is.

For any newbie that might read this, again I say read this thread and the IRCC website diligently and you will be good to apply by yourself but if you're busy or overwhelmed to apply by yourself then use people that has been verified by their testimonials on this thread. If you read through the thread a bit, you will find them.

ShowYoung:
Good day House,
Apology for long post!

I want to use this opportunity to reply the allegation leveled against me by the person who goes by the name of FANIHUN OLUWATOBI aka Only1boy on this platform.

So you are not going to name the person? You want other unsuspecting newbie to fall victim?

This is my opportunity to say it again - you don't need anyone to submit this application for you. Read this thread and the IRCC website diligently and you will find all the information you need to apply successfully by yourself no matter how complex you think your situation is.

But if for any reason you are overwhelmed to apply by yourself then use people that has been verified by their testimonials on this thread not some dude that showed up this year to start posturing like he's knowledgeable about Canada visa application.

Person wey never complete one successful application for themselves or anyone for that matter wan begin dey guide newbie. No be like blind leading the blind be that?

By the way ignore the threats. He's just bluffing to cower you into silence and pay the balance.

Only1boy:

Long post and please don’t mind my typing errors.

Ok so guys. I don jam person wey don chop my money oo.
So I met this agent on this platform, I won’t mention his name just yet. He has always been answering my questions and all until we started charting privately. He’s Always answering my questions still and made mention to me that he can help me process my visa application. I doubted it so very much that my spirit didnt go with him but he persuaded me that he is good and professional etc and because of the questions he answered and showed he has ideas I agreed and he charged me 350k and after so much persuading he agreed to 200k then said I should pay for commitment and it would be Half of the money before he can continue answering my questions then I paid 100k after which he shared informations about the process and all then fast forward to few days later he started getting busy and doesn’t want to answer some of my questions. Sometimes he leaves my messages on read. Then I started complaining and told him I dont think I want to continue with him because of the reasons mentioned. It even got to a time I was not free to ask him anything because of how he might respond. Then he said he’s sorry that he’d change and always be available to answer my questions and tell me what I need to do and mot know in the process. Mind you I haven’t gotten my documents ready to start the process sef still waiting on some of my documents before we start. We moved from there but still my spirit wasn’t working with this guy but I kept pushing. Until today that I told him i dont think I Would be able to balance him up the remaining 100k because of some finance issues im starting to have, that I’ll like to do this whole thing myself since this informations are even online. I have not even asked for the 100k I paid.
Naso baba start to threaten me that I’ll see what he would do to me in few weeks bla bla bla that he has my informations already and he’ll get to me sending me threat voice notes that I stole his intellectual property that is more thank 200k that I must balance him up even if I am not interested again ooo egbami ooo lol . Now my question is must I continue with somebody i dont want to continue with because he has advised me and given informations on how I’ll go about thr whole thing after my first 100k, we didn’t even sign any agreement that I must complete the job with him funny enough we’ve not started yet.
Please house what do you advice I do

@itsdone2022 @lekkiboboe @makano @frankrobben @Makano @lekiboboe @showyoung @CentennialGuy Please guys I need answer cry

I don't know if you've gotten response but my opinion is that it doesn't matter either ways whether you inform them here or when you get to Canada.

What I believe is important is how well you convinced them when you are applying for her SOWP that you got married to her after you got your study visa and that the marriage is genuine and not an arranged one.

What this means is that beyond the marriage documents and pictures that you will submit, you will have to show proof from way back before you got your study visa that you guys have been in relationship before your study visa. This might include showing chat records and anything that just shows that you've been together for a while.

This is what I think is important. Await the gurus you mentioned to give you a better perspective if they haven't already.

1. Don't worry about the biometrics. That is what it's going to show till your application is completed since you have a valid biometrics from 2018.

2. Payment of the balance of your school fees for the year is something that can enhance your application, so you should definitely update your application with the receipt.

3. To be honest this is a decision you are gonna make by yourself. I do not think informing them of your admission in the UK changes anything with IRCC. You should just keep sending them those emails that could probably expedite action from them and hopefully final decision comes before July 31st.

Abi2022:
@Makano Please help a sister.

Good Morning,

I have an admission in Centennial College for Fall 2022 and applied on April 26 and did an upfront medical on May 25. My medical just got updated on June 23 after sending webforms and emails. I had earlier submitted my biometrics when I applied for a visiting visa in 2018 so its valid till 2028. I currently have an admission in University of Stirling in Scotland that I must close out on by July 31, 2022. My questions are;

1. I noticed that on the “Details about my application status” my biometrics section is yet to be updated and states that “We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.” I am concerned about the delay and wonder if this is the reason the review of my eligibility is yet to commence.
2. I recently paid the balance of my school fees for the year, when I submitted I had paid only the acceptance fees. I used funds from an account I did not submit so funds in the POF I submitted are still there, do I need to send them this additional information?
3. Should I let them know about this UK admission as I need to know my position to enable me not be at a disadvantage. Time is of essence

What do you advice I do?

Looking forward to your advice

Hi please, if one gets admission to a school in Canada, and after getting your study visa, you decided to change to a 2 year course or to change schools, if the resumption of the new school is a few months away and you're already in Canada, do you have to leave Canada and return on resumption or you can stay in Canada till resumption? Please, clear me on this boss.

Sis, read the content of this link, you will find your answer there:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/change-schools.html

Key things to note is that If you are changing school, you have to inform IRCC and you need to be enrolled and actively studying in your current school before you can change to another one.

Kindly interpret please

"The pre-Assessment Notes: TH: CAN refusal declared" what does this mean please

Have you applied before and got denied? Looks to me that it's saying you declared your previous refusal.

Every other thing I see is positive since your eligibility has been recommended as passed. They might likely send you a medical request since your medical has expired.

Congrats in advance are in order. Keep praying that senior officer don't overturn this positive.

Spicy12345:
Its PPR guys. Long Post alert

I have been a silent reader of Nairaland since the beginning of this year and everything that led to this point (obtaining our PPR), Nairaland contributed to it.
We started this journey in 2021. I started off with some countries which eventually did not work out. My husband had applied to a couple of schools and we either received rejections or no responses at all. Fast forward to January, my sister was leaving for Canada at the time and came visiting so I requested that she helped apply to a school. We followed up and received admission to Centennial College for a Postgraduate Certificate program in Cybersecurity. It is also worthy to note that we applied to several schools in the UK, I think about 6 or 7 of them and got admission to all.
Amidst all these, my husband insisted on Canada.
We applied for my husband's Study visa, my Spousal Open Work Permit and a Visiting Visa for my 19 months daughter on the 1st of April, 2022. This happened when everywhere I turned to for assistance on how to proceed with these applications kept giving warning signs for my husband to apply alone. My husband insisted that we all apply together and back it up with prayers and I agreed.
We gathered all our documents and applied with faith and the wait started. Sometimes, I would wake up in the middle of the night and say my prayers sometimes with tears. Sometimes, I and my husband would find it difficult to sleep at night. I would disturb my sister from time to time even during her busy schedule just to find out if there was anything to do to hasten the process. I am not a very patient person but my husband who has more patience among the both of us started to worry too on the 1st of June. We kept praying and hoping that God comes through.
I felt our application could be better but believed God will use the documents we had submitted to speak for us. We noticed that his passport was due to expire in October and then we decided to apply for that as quickly as possible.
On the 5th of June, my husband came back home worried which increased my worry as well but we kept telling each other that our application was more complex so it may take them a while to get to it.
On the 7th of June at around 7:30am, my husband called my attention and, in his words, "it is already happening o"
I ran to his phone and saw 3 emails with "do not reply", my heart skipped several beats and I remember saying to him, if we were rejected, we fire again.
I went straight for the laptop but was not fast enough as I kept shaking. My husband grabbed it and signed in.
At this point, I hissed and said aloud "Eligibility just started and its a ghost update", then he said hold on let me scroll down and there it was Original Passport Request. I screamed my lungs out.
Our timeline:
GCKey 1st time applicant
Application: 1st of April, 2022
Upfront medicals: 26t of March and updated to pass on the 21st of April, 2022
Biometrics: 14th of April, 2022
PPR for Study, SOWP, and VV on the 8th of June.

I would say it has been God and I am putting this out there to encourage people most especially families who are too afraid to apply together. Do it, research, make your application as tight as possible, and back it up with prayers. I reached out to only one person on this thread who happened to be going to the same school as my husband, @centennialguy, thank you for your help, I appreciate it.
I wish everyone the best and to all PPR hopefuls, your time is now.

It will end in praise

Baba abeg, use hot pap to melt that heavy weight for your chest. Good luck and stay happy in all situations. There are many in worst situations. #GratitudeAlways.

Thanks for your response, I appreciate .
Do you really think that's the cause? Then I have already funded it with dollar, where do I put that?

If you cancel the card, it will fund your naira wallet with the equivalent amount in naira but of course at a lower rate than what they charged when you were funding the dollar card. You can now create and fund another card.

I don't know if that's the cause, but just suggesting it to see if it will work. Often times, restarting or resetting is usually a good troubleshooting method when it comes to technologies. That's what I'm suggesting.

Its admission application fee, after inserting the virtual card details and submit, it will inbox me an email that is declined

If you don't mind losing a few quid, can you cancel the card, create and fund a new one?

@Teemenzo,
Its disheartening, I have more than 30USD, 7m in savings account and was refused for financial status and personal assets. Haba! with landed properties too. No sponsor, if not for my future generation, I should consider myself ok here in Naija.

What do you want to pay for? Visa application fee or admission application fee. It's strange that Barter won't work. What's the error it's bringing?

Good morning guys,
Got a medical request today and the next available slot is in 27 days, Canada gave me 30 days to submit my medical result.
I wanna be on the safer side and get it done next week. Is this possible, please? it's also showing that "I have an active appointment.." whenever I try selecting Canada on IOM'S website. When I checked, there was none. Please help guys

Email IOM to request for urgent appointment. Attach your medical request letter, proof of payment for the medical exam and put your preferred appointment date in the email. They will reply you within 3 business days with a better appointment date.

Congrats in advance.

Hello Pals!
I funded my barter virtual dollar card and I have been trying to use it for payment but not successful. What can I do?

Are you sure you funded it with the right amount? It's possible the amount you funded is not up to the dollar equivalent of the Canadian amount you want to pay.

If you just created the card, they usually charge about 2 dollars for the card creation, so you have to factor that into the amount you fund the card with.

I can only imagine grin

The feeling is like when you are moving house. Suddenly everything about the apartment you are moving from starts to annoy you. You start noticing faults that you never noticed before. Lol.

Change your ticket date then!

Yeah. I know. Just that I've set some things in motion that I have to see through after I bought my ticket.
