The question that was asked was this: "Do you believe corruption is getting worse in your country?". South Africans who were surveyed answered yes. It's a barometer survey that really means nothing. This is a ranking of countries whose citizens believe corruption is getting worse. It is NOT a ranking of the most corrupt countries.
I know the Survey was based on random opinions and not actual facts. I was just mentioning that Nigerians and S.Ans are more fearlessly inclined to talk about the issue of corruption, and that why we ranked so high.

I don't know about all this stuff all I know is that there is improvement in South Africa's ranking in an area where Nigeria is falling.

Congrats

South Africans and Nigerian are more willing and less fearful of talking about Corruption, we see any form of corruption as a bad thing, and that's why we're so high up, unlike in actually hardcore corrupt Countries where the citizens see it as a normal thing.

Russia seems to be making a lot of "MISTAKES" lately, maybe they should teach their Pilots how to navigate, because the Russians have been intruding into other Countries Airspace for a while now.
Politics / Re: Check Out The Proposed Map Of Biafra by Centrifude(m): 11:22pm On Nov 27, 2015
I'm not trying to start an argument.

I've been reading up on the whole Biafra topic and as a foreigner looking in, and judging from what I've read it seem very unlikely that the Biafra dream will ever be anything but that, a dream. My opinion is also based of the fact that most of the Nigerian I've spoken to who reside in S.A mainly agree that there's a slim chance of it ever happening, and that even if it does happen it will lead to another, and more deadly civil war.

So my question is, how serious is this need or want for a Country named Biafra, are we outsiders only seeing a portion of what's really going on, is there a substantial number of people supporting this idea/movement? Logically speaking, what are the chances of Nigeria being divided again?

Budget makes provision for new equipment for SANDF

"The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) will be acquiring medium and light transport aircraft, torpedoes, mobile communications and air launched missiles, as funding has been allocated for these items in the Department of Defence’s budget."

Agh man what we really Need are Heavy-lift Aircraft something like the A400M or maybe even the C-17. Buying Medium and Light Aircraft still means that we'll have to lease Heavy Lift Planes everytime we need to move something big.

If Russia retaliates, Turkey would invoke Article 5 of NATO pact. An attack on one is an attack on all.

I mean, Russia won't go to war with NATO over Syria, it just won't happen.

Getting there pilot is there uttermost priority.

Both Pilot have been killed by Syrian Rebels. I guess holding them hostage would've been much more riskier.

I was saying to the South-Africans a few weeks ago, the Turks are no pushovers. They are one of the stronger members of NATO. I knew they were going to shoot down a Russian Jet. It was only a matter of time.

What this simply means is, Russia is going to deploy additional SU-30SMs in Syria.

Let see how they(Russians) respond, maybe few cruise missile strikes from the Caspian.

Yes Turkey has guts but what will happen when Russia decides to retaliate? I was watching RT and I'm starting to doubt that Russia will do much, they seem to be playing the victim.

Not long ago, a Russian drone was shot violating Turkish Airspace.

Such actions reaffirm that fact that Russia is seriously itching for a Fight *well so is Nato* but it seems like Russia has decided to take the Fight to Nato. The one thing I know is that any fight between East and West will always end in a StaleMate.

I just hope and pray that Africa doesn't end up being home to their Proxy wars again.

Breaking news

Russians have been Violating Turkish Airspace for a while now, but I never thought the Turks would have the balls to attack. Things are about to get really interesting.

Been up all night reading the news!! The only thing that gets to me a lot is the fact when something like this happens in Africa(which it does quite regularly) the world doesn't bat an eye. But when something like this happens in a Western country the fvcking world loses their minds!!

Well I think its because such things rarely happen in the West and unlike here in Africa where there are bombs that go off almost every week. Its like getting mugged here in S.A it's become so common that people don't get shocked anymore when they find out about it.

I also read that the Iron Dome can be used against low flying Aircraft, so Jericho plus Iron Dome equals overkill.

Last war was a draw, no winner. Btwn, Egypt is far better armed and trained today. I guess South Africa too can try fight Israel and know what Egypt faced. South Africa has not won any war in it's modern history.

Dude come on, South Africa has nothing to do with this conversation why do you have a chronic need to make everything abt S.A nd Nigeria we were having a civilised conversation about the Arabs but you just had to turn into an argument.

But anyway back to the Arabs, the only thing Egypt has on Israel in Man power. Showing a video of huge buffed up Egyptian doing back flips and breaking boards does not count as advance training.

We've seen dozens of videos of Israeli Soldiers in training, not forgetting that they have some of the most advance defence industries on the Planet, Israeli drones give their Soldiers an unrivalled amount of battlefield awareness when compared to their neighbours. They also have more Aerial Combat experience they've shot done more jets then anyone else, Egypt has quantity but Israel has quality.

Their would be complications cos it was not meant for them in the first place. Russians were supposed to have their own input.

Yes the Russians were suppose to put in their own Radar, Armaments nd stuff like that... But I'm sure its nothing France can't provide for Egypt

Guess they could do that...... but one thing we also have to remember is the fact that the ships were built to Russian standards, thus it could mean that Egypt will very likely have to completely refit both ships!!!!

Yeah I also think that would be the problem because those ships are basically incomplete, but I'm guessing Egypt already thought of that (hopefully) I bet France nd Egyptian Engineering could manage to fill in all the missing components, it probably won't be as good as what the Russians were planning to put in them, but they will make them work.

They could delay the delivery and send Trainees to France to be trained there for a couples of months.

@frumentius
I was reading about the "U.S Marine Corps Martial Arts Program" and I was wondering if the SANDF makes as much effort in training our Soldiers in method of Unarmed combat, because I can't find any info that shows that our regular Soldiers receive an form or hand to hand combat training, besides the Recces and intelligence guys .

So since you're a member of the defence force I'm hoping that you could answer this question for me.

If you take nukes and missiles out of US military what will US have that Russians don't have.

US will continue to fear Russians cause they don't make noise like the Americans. A good example is their new jamming system.

What will the U.S have ? Uhm a larger and more powerful Air-force, Army, Naval fleet... Don't forget that U.S.A has almost perfected Railgun Tech, which can fire a projectile at speeds of up to Mach7.. Which means Russian jets and can be shot down from long distances by something that will be too fast to avoid.

You need to see this to understand.. TO have an idea of what Russia got. See the Old KRET capabilities here.. https://www.nairaland.com/2706250/video-how-kret-richag-av-russian#39584648

What is the essence of anti-aifract when it can't shoot down a military airplane..Let me even tell you one known fact today. I witness this myself.. If Russian military comes close to your home like say 20-30km.. All the battery or anything that has to do with transmitters will not work for some time. Your car battery will run down. Phone.. just name it.. Communication will be jammed.. Just forget about communication for some time.. This is how to fight war in the 21st century. This is one of the main reasons mcCain delivered Stingers battery are not working. So you can't shoot down any military copter..

The copters are used for the jamming and then SU bombers follows to deliver heavy bombs at ISIL's door step.

Like I said on one of my previous comments I'm not tryna down play Russia's might. I agree with many of the things you've written here.

My comment was that the OP is being deceptive by saying "(Russian
Jamming System Blocks All NATO Electronics
Over Syria)" with a system that has yet to be battle tested, it hasn't even being used against Nato yet, but our OP here is claiming that its already blocking NATO Electronics.

You got it right.Weeks ago that reports alleged Russia launched cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea and the Internet especially in this part of the world made it seem like Russia just landed man on Mars.

Do most of them know what a trident on a U.S. Nuclear sub can do?I think the fact that U.S. has engaged non-aggression lately makes it feel like she's a dog on the leash by Russia.

Besides the Trident, the Tomahawk is still on the same level as the missiles launched by Russia.

I'm not down playing Russia's might but people need to realise that U.S.A is just as dangerous and has proven to be a lot more ruthless, not forgetting that Western Troops have greater War experience.

”I mean in
England we have a Queen for Bleep’s sake. A
Queen! We have to call her things like “Your
Majesty” YOUR MAJESTY! Like she’s all
majestic, like an eagle or a mountain. She’s
just a person. A little old lady in a shiny hat
– that we paid for. Or “Your Highness”!
What the Bleep is that?! What, she’s high up,
above us, at the top of a class pyramid on a
shelf of money with her own face on it. We
should be calling her Mrs Windsor. In fact
that’s not even her real name, they
changed it in the war to distract us from the
inconvenient fact that they were as German
as the enemy that teenage boys were being
encouraged, conscripted actually, to die
fighting. Her actual name is Mrs Saxe-
Coburg-Gotha.
“Mrs Saxe-Coburg-Gotha”!! No wonder they
fucking changed it. It’s the most German
thing I’ve ever heard – she might’ve well as
been called “Mrs Bratwurst-Kraut-Nazi”.

No matter the sophistication of any weapon. It can be crippled.

It's all counts and counter, you make a pestle,I grow yam that can't be pounded.

That's the war game here.

Most people like pretending as though the west doesn't have any Aces up their sleeves, and tend to think that they will just stand by while Russia attacks or shows off.

Its like when Russian used their long range missiles for the first time everyone went insane claiming that they are the best thing ever, forgetting that the U.S has been firing long range bombs for more than tens years, which shows that the U.S probably has something even bigger and meaner.
