He is right 100%. Black South Africans wished they were Nigerians. You only need to visit South Africa and see things for your self. I am currently doing a project on South Africa, I will post on nairaland when I am done.

I'm a black South African, I'm very, very happy with my life in South Africa.

I can genuinely guarantee you that Majority of Black South Africans Mostly don't care or even know what the Capital City of Nigeria is.

Most S.A people are very ignorant to Nigeria and when you say Nigeria, the first thing that comes to their minds are Drug Dealers, Boko Haram, Bring Back our Girls, Internet Scams, oh jah and Nollywood and your Music Artists.

But in my 24yrs alive and being around Black South Africans who come from different backgrounds, I've never, ever heard a single one of them say that they wish they were like Nigerians.

I've heard people talk about wanting to move to Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Algeria, Ethiopia...but never Nigeria.

I won't lie I do admit the fact that South Africans do love some of your products.. Like Movies & Music, and I for one find Nigerian women to be very attractive, I like some of your Music, I love this Forum that has given me a chance to communicate with Africans from other countries, BUT just because we like your products it doesn't mean we are jealous or want to be like you.

Reutech South Africa DBRXL (RSR 320) - 3D Air Defence Radar Reutech Radar Systems has developed a 3- dimensional ground-based dual-band radar technology demonstrator which deliver world- leading performance in missile fire control applications. This demonstrator has been produced in partnership with the Department of Defence, Armscor, CSIR, Denel and the Universities of Stellenbosch and Cape Town. The system is based on the ESR 220 Thutlwa local warning radar already in service with the SA Army Air Defence Artillery, with the addition of high- accuracy 3D target detection and tracking capabilities. The suitability of the product for the support of ground-based Surface-To-Air Missiles (SAMs) was asserted in the superior tracking accuracy of aircraft under surveillance.

You're still confusing the issues. Again to use a personal example: I automatically got UK citizenship because of my father and Portuguese from my mother. So, the SA Citizenship Act doesn't apply as I didn't apply for other citizenship, after turning 18.
I claimed - not applied for - citizenship which was automatically conferred on me by UK and Portuguese law whether I took it up or not, at whatever time.
Simply, the sections you quoted impact Saffers over the age of 18 who've only ever held SA citizenship and now want to apply for other, whilst retaining SA. Mostly emigrating Afrikaners and Black (African, Asian and Coloured) Saffers who want to retain SA citizenship - the groups least likely to have automatic rights to other citizenship.

And even then, the SA govt cannot strip people of SA citizenship simply because they apply for other citizenship. And so we circle back to my argument that the regulations on what passport to exit and enter RSA were driven by paranoid securocrats who came very close to co-opting Home Affairs to their control agenda.

I shall refrain from the so-called land debate.

Frum the purpose of my first comment was so simply try and scare Patchy the Pirate from running away from S.A and trying to convince him that it'd be better if he stayed..
Regardless of the land and race issues I believe brain drain is what's killing S.A.

I disagree with Patches' post, but let's stick to facts. The 2 laws you've cited don't exist.
You might be confusing it with the regulation that states that you have to use your SA passport to fly out and in, otherwise your foreign passport will be treated as if you're on tourist visa even though you're a citizen. For example: before I could fly to Europe on my UK and Portuguese passport - to avoid visas applications and fees; go on to US on same, and then fly home on my SA passport.
It's changed nothing for me if going to Europe - SA passport to exit, present SA and Euro passport on arrival, and same process in reverse.
Unnecessary red tape enacted during a paranoid presidency. Anyway, there's a thread for all this, let's stop derailing this thread.

I'll respond on the Thread about Land Reform.

Thank you for the correction about the Law of owning land.
I forgot that it was a *Proposed* land holding bill, which was sent in for approval, but judging by how Cyril is in so obsessed with land I have a feeling this Bill will be passed by the time patches comes back to S.A.

*The South African Citizenship Act provides for
retention of South African citizenship PRIOR to
the acquisition of a foreign citizenship. A
condition of attaining dual citizenship for all South
African citizens aged 18 years or older is that they
must apply and be granted permission to
retain their South African citizenship prior to the
acquisition of a foreign citizenship.
If a South African citizen does not obtain this prior
permission they will automatically lose their
South African citizenship on voluntary acquisition
of a foreign citizenship.*

Land has to be re-distributed in South-Africa. The policy where only a minority white farmers own upwards of 80% of the land is un-acceptable. White South-Africans need to stop panicking anytime the issue of land comes up, instead a workable solution should be under-taken through sincere dialogue.

You can sell the farm or part of it, and still lease it from who ever purchases the land for your farming business.

lol, people are so happy that Zuma is gone... yet they dont see the writing on the wall.

Sure, Zuma stole from us... but Cyril is going to destroy us. Mark my words.

SA's rainfall is predicted to drop by 40% over the next 25 years. Cyril (either by choice, or because of the party) is going to push forward with expropriation without compensation. 90% of previously transferred farms have failed (completely). Expropriation will also wipe about 133 billion of Rand's of assets from the banking sector (commercial farmers owe huge amounts to the banks) so there wont be any capital left to re-invest in Agriculture. Add it up.

The Zimbabwe analogy is a fallacy, what is coming our way is worse - inconceivably worse. Zimbabwe is a rural country, Zimbabwe has a prosperous neighbor to the South. When their farming sector went belly-up and food scarcity hit, their urban population could simply return to the country side for a subsistence life-style, or head South to RSA. We dont have those options - we are an urbanized country with poor neighbors - you are going to have starving and unemployed masses in the cities, many of which will also be facing water scarcity. Its going to get fvcking nasty fvcking quickly.

Hell, and Im not even going to mention the new mining charter - which seems to want to recreate the same Apartheid sanctions that killed the mining sector (and brought the NP to the negotiation chamber), or the new Minimum Wage act (Treasury estimates it will cause potential job losses* for 45% of primary educated labour, 43% of agricultural labour, 52% of private households, about 40% of all full-time workers, 45% of full-time clothing workers, 82% of full-time workers in the agricultural sector, 87% of full-time domestic workers).

To be honest, the party is over. Im going to stay over-seas for the next decade or so - busy working on getting residency in the US atm. Ill wait it out, and work myself to death in a Corporate hell-scape. But when all the new farms have failed, sail in with a pocket-full of USD and buy a nice big slice of land on the cheap. Use that land to leverage a loan from the bank and then buy up another big slice of land. Then sit on it and wait for the sector to recover and sell it off for a nice profit. Ironically, my great grandfather made a small fortune doing the exact same thing in the aftermath of the Boer war.

Its very risky, but the deep irony of a White fella turning this racist land redistribution strategy into a way to generate a tidy sum of money, while the "beneficiaries" of the redistribution get plunged into generations of suffering is just too juicy to resist. There are safer investments, but fvck me, nothing gets me going like a good dose of JUSTICE.

*that % of jobs will now be "at risk", ie: potentially no longer economically viable.

I'm not sure if you're aware of that fact that once you've obtained the Citizenship of another country you automatically forfeit your South African Citizen, unless you ask for permission to retain your S.A Citizenship before acquiring the new Citizenship, but it's not always guaranteed that you'll be given that permission.

So my reason for raising the issue of citizenship is that, a few years ago a New Law was passed that Foreigners will only be allowed to own only 12 000 hectares of South African land, so since you would most likely have given up your S.A Citizenship, for an American one.. When you come back to S.A you will be considered as a Foreigner, who can only buy two farm houses.

Your plan sounds really great, but the new laws won't be in your favour, like the Law was for your Grand Pappy.

G-A-S-S-S-P-P!? Did you just ask that question, for real!? There's a very well known underlying violence in homo behaviour that many say is part of the pathology. That's why most serial killers are homos:

http://www.familyresearchinst.org/2009/02/violence-and-homosexuality/

This is why world wide all groups with a history of interpersonal violence have much higher rates of homoism than normal. Look at the Turks,Arabs,Greeks,Romans,Mughals or the Brits. Btw,why was Terre'blanche found dead with his pants down? The Pathans are famous for long running feuds and murder and yet have are notorious boy lovers.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/01/28/afghan-men-struggle-sexual-identity-study-finds.html

IIRC Kenyans serving with the USMC in Afghanistan flocked the largest forum at the time, mashada saying how often they found men abed with boys when they busted in homes during night time raids. Look up bachi baaz, goddammit! I know Saffas are super liberal oozing with love for all Gods kids;but trust me;homos shouldn't be within walking distance of any unit. My dude, what if he's interrogating some enemy and is overcome by rectal urges? Must I draw a picture?
DAMN!! I was about to go all liberal on you until I read this, and actually realised how true it is, I remember watching a documentary about the worst prisons in South Africa, and now that I think about it, the most violent and notorious convicts there were well known for committing homosexual acts, the worst part is that many on them denied the fact that their actions were homosexual and referred to the guy who was getting raped and paid for sex as the one who is homosexual, and they called them women, but the rapist still considered themselves as straight men.

It's similar to the stories I read about how spartans use to promote sexual relationships between men and the younger boys they were training, it was said it helped strengthen trust and their bond.

So I think you're right, I wouldn't feel safe or comfortable having such people, in a warzone... Unless it's in a place like Okinawa during WWII where soldiers had free reign to kill.

SouthAfrica Police Service paid company Forensic Data Analysts (FDA) R52million for 169 torches - R300'000 each (US$21,147)
Media reports today have revealed that on the last day of the 2015/16 financial year, the South African Police Service (SAPS) paid Forensic Data Analysts (FDA) over R52 million for a contract for 169 torches.

This amounts to an astonishingly exorbitant R300 000 per torch.

The invoice for the contract was paid for by the section in which former Acting National Police Commissioner General Khomotso Phahlane’s wife works. FDA is owned by a businessman that has been implicated in potentially corrupt transactions with Phahlane through the provision of luxury vehicles to him and his wife.

The DA will therefore write to the Secretary of Police, Mr Alvin Rapea, to request a specific investigation and analysis project of the SAPS expenditure over the last 5 financial years by the Civilian Secretariat, as per section 6(1)(b) of the Civilian Secretariat, in order to closely scrutinise potentially irrational or wasteful large contracts.

The reports also state that the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is investigating other suspicious transactions between the SAPS and FDA.

SAPS annual reports always show that the department’s budget is fully spent yet police stations are always under-staffed and under-resourced. Stations are often told that there is not enough money when they ask for additional vehicles and personnel up the chain of command.

The DA have always suspected and can only conclude that the SAPS budget continues to be misspent due to skewed priorities and irrational procurement in supply chain management. This revelation sadly sheds light on that seemingly being the case. LINK https://www.da.org.za/2017/11/da-requests-investigation-exorbitant-saps-expenditure/

The D.A has always provided misinformation to mislead the public.

So Before we even jump to conclusion here is lil info
frm person who works in that department. Just so
you know it isn't R300k a torch. It's for a set of
very expensive very effective poliflare crime lights
which are essential to a thorough crime scene
investigation.
http://www.safariland.com/products/forensics/x-
loupe-agilelite-lighting-system---complete-k
it-1180288.html#start=1
The lights look like this in the link and they are
$20 000 . Division Forensic Services has a budget
to spend on new and updated technologies and
equipment and that's exactly what they spent it
on.

They have air refueling capacity , they can use Sudan bases or libyan skies and nigeria neighbours skies are no mans land ( cameroun , south tchad , center africa , niger ) no good radars capacity , no air defense , no jets to stop them , they can refuel in many close skies to nigeria , no one will see them ( maybe only french radars in this countries ) , with their AWACS they can get a safe control of the skies temporarily . and refuel over cameroun or south niger or republic center africa

Egyptian air force with their Rafale, F16 , AWACS , can strike easily in 48h all your major air foce bases , all your navy bases destroy all your Navy and for economy if they strike oil gas fields and facilities , here Nigeria will have a big problem not only to sustain a war but to maintain its economy .

Of course if this unlikely scenario happens it would only be limited to aerial strikes, with air superiority for Egypt , given the distance no ground attack is possible without hudge loses

thats why I find it strange that a big country like nigeria has no modern Air defense capacity ,

Don't forget guys the initial statement was that Egypt could defeat the combined forces of S.A and Nigeria not just Nigeria alone.... So South would Provide all the Air Defence Assets Nigeria would Need.. South Africa would probably not even need to send ground troops, you just need to send our air defences Systems, to F*ck with the Egyptian Airforce.

$600 million USD for 12 propeller driven aircraft

D.A.M.N.A.T.I.O.N.

What are they offering for goodness sake to warrant such daylight robbery

Are they going to build new hangers?
Are they going to give us production license?
Are they going to supply us 1000 PGMs?
Are they going to base their technical staff here in Nigeria?
how many tonnage of spares would twelve aircraft need In its whole operational life cycle?
or what capabilities does the Tucano have that other aircraft doesn't have?
what sophisticated gadgetry does it bring?
or what sleek aerial maneover does it do that other aircraft cant?

With that amount alone any country can design and build COIN aircraft from scratch, Nigeria included.

For that amount we'll require electronic and visual stealth capabilities while being able to launch ten ballistic nuclear cruise missiles plus it must be hypersonic and should be able to tranverse space and bend time. Since we are the first country to buy turboprop aircraft.

R.U.B.B.I.S.H.

I'm 100% sure that with that kinda money you would've been given full access to the 'AHRLAC Aircraft' research the money would've been used to co-develop & design a larger and more powerful version of the Aircraft which also includes local production in Nigeria.

Anyway I'm done with this conversation, you're showing that you're very irrational, I just wanted to explain the banking details joke, which you purposely refuse to understand.

Don't be always too quick to show your stupidity.

This was very unnecessary.. If you had bothered to ask you would have been told that in South Africa S.A.R.S stands for 'South African Revenue Services', they are the people responsible for collecting Tax in S.A. Which explains why he jokingly said the other guy needs to hand in his banking details.

Try not to be impulsive, or jump to conclusions Bro.

I'll be honest I've always had a secret dream of other African Countries like Nigeria Buying and/or Co-producing South African Missiles systems.

I found it sad and ridiculous that the Ingwe or Mokopa didn't get a chance to Mow down Boko-haram insurgents.

I'm hoping that Jf-17 A-darter deal works out, so that we can sell them to Nigeria.

It would send chills down the spines of those "Cheese eating Surrender Monkeys" (France)
