Post like this always attract reactions. I do not have personal grudges against you, i only tried to point out that important elements are missing in your analysis which makes it lopsided. And in your dumb head, what makes humility compulsory in leadership?My assertion (if you truly have a head) is that there are so many factors that determine a good leader or supposedly good leader other than his educational qualification and other items you listed. Even though i do not intend to make an easy on leadership, i think the place of humility in leadership performance cannot be overemphasised. In order not to derail the topic, i won't dabble more into this. Better educated and with better judgement than a foool that thinks it makes sense to do MBA immediately after a BSc.I only asked this question to enable fresher graduates learn from the discussion. When people make post or ask questions do not assume they are ignorant of the topic of discussion. It may be an avenue to enable others learn.when you are leading a discussion, Mr.Sagamite, do not make the mistake of thinking that you are more knowledgeable than those following the discussion. |

Every leader must have humility? So what if they are arrogant? Arrogant people have not been good leaders in history?Why i will not be tempted to call you names just because you disagree with my views, i think you seem to have a lopsided view of what constitutes a good leader. Your concern is the ''result'' and not how it is achieved. The beauty of any analyses lies in the ability of the analyst to be as simple as possible why accommodating important elements. You used things like education, internet users' perception, words from the governors etc as a yardstick to measure their level of success. How reliable and encompassing are these factors in assessing the performance of these individual leaders? Have you asked yourself why your post is receiving too much criticisms rather than commendations? |

Adams Oshiomhole (Edo)Even though i commend your effort, i think you didn't really take time to analyse these leaders.For instance, what were your basis for the highlighted part? For me, i have not seen any true leader among them. How many of them posses the following qualities : 1.Empathy 2. Humility 3. Sacrifice 4.Nobility 5. Humane 6. Conscience 7.Conscious 8. emotional stability etc etc The above are the qualities in which leaders who are determined and committed to improve on the livelihood of their people posses. Even Fashola is still answerable to Tinubu and the rest of the parks. Until we begin to discover leaders who think and act above self, then we may have a long way to go. Also, a leader is not measured by his educational qualification, rather by the content of his character and world view. |

I wonder why people are still wasting their time debating a hasty policy designed to enable SLS get a 2nd tenure. Have you all forgotten that our technocrats are all politicians in suit ? Most of the people supporting this policy don't even reside in Nigeria, they have not operated any business in Nigeria, and most rely on google.com for information about the country. Unorganised private sector still constitutes larger % of the Nigerian businesses and majority of the people in this sector make transactions in excess of 150k/day.Any policy that does not give people freedom to make choice is not a good policy.Rather than give incentives you are charging fees from the same small scale businesses that need to be encouraged.Most of these businesses don't even have access to bank loan and incur high operating cost as a result of unavailability of basic infrastructure. For the policy to work, we need to have (1) reliable power supply (2) access to internet facilities (3)adequate online security system (4) proper enlightenment campaign (5) POS (6) proper insurance protection and law protecting customer transactions in the event of fraud etc etc I trust GEJ, if SLS does not review this policy, especially the area of charging extra fees, the policy will be swept under the carpet as usual. |

Are you sure about this, cos i already got their admission, and i have just been sent my invitation leta, also, i was been told its a UK certificate for about close to 800k, please i need more infoSegi college is one of the good schools in Malaysia. They award university of Sunderland, Uk degree and also University of Abertay, Uk. Though its very expensive, but it's worth the stress.You could also try Olympia college, they also award University of Derby, Uk degree.I don't know of the cost. |

I wonder why we as a people dey like to shoot before we aim. Listen, part of the statement reads "While the Central Bank of Nigeria will make general announcements and carry out public awareness programmes, individual banks are expected to do same. The affected customers of banks should be informed in good time by the banks with clear advice on alternative electronic payment channels available to them."you don't even seem to understand the issue. The issue of security, poor internet speed, power,law protecting customers against lost of funds etc are yet to be addressed. Did you know that the Nigerian economy is highly dependent on the activities in PH,LAG,Kano and Aba? Any mis-application of this policy in these areas in capable of crumbling our economy. |

@Dis Guy We are not against the policy, it's a good one but the deadline and penalty is obviously not acceptable. People should be allowed to choose whichever payment option they deemed convenient. I would rather suggest that incentives, such as price discounts etc be given to those who opt for the electronic system.This will tend to make it more attractive for the people and they will adopt it willingly.This will also give adequate time for the implementation/establishment of conditions that will make it function effectively. |

@Kobojunkie you are making some good points.But one thing with SLS and his gang is that they do not have listening ears.They don't understand the tenets of the democratic process and the use of force is seen as the only effective way to bring results. One year is definitely not enough to perform this magic.I know he is seeking re-appointment upon completion of his tenure and would do anything to be considered ''serious.''With what is happening in the north and the way SLS is handling the CBN i am beginning to see consider every northerner aggressive, whether educated or not. |

Please read the original post - slowly. There is nothing in the policy that prevents free movement of cash. It does not impose penalty on cash 'huge cash transaction'. It is only trying to discourage huge transaction using physical cash and encourage huge transactions using electronic cash. Did you notice the difference mate? This will increase the volume of cash flowing through the system and reduce the volume flowing outside it. There is nothing socialist about thisThis your book knowledge is obviously not helping you. So if you want to construct a bridge you wont bother visiting the site? You will just stay in your air-conditioned office/boardroom and roll out useless policies you copied from textbook pages.That is why i detest Economists, they always believe all is well even when it is clear that all is not well. There are always fundamentals to every policy. When you put the fundamentals into place the policy sails freely.That is why we achieve little with our policies, we always neglect the fundamentals.In this case, the fundamentals are security, awareness, infrastructure etc etc |

you obviously didnt read the article, which people's opinion the man on the street or the banks that knows the percentage and profile of people withdrawing 150k/day; who was consulted before the banks introduced atm cards and internet banking, they should also cancel internet bankingATM cards did little or nothing to reduce the quantum of cash in the economy, and no strict restrictions were imposed either .People were given options, you could withdraw with ATM or go to the cashier at no extra cost.Also, Nigerians experienced a lot of security issues with the introduction of the ATM with many people loosing so much amount of money which the banks did little or nothing to settle.There are so many issues with the ATM which are yet to be addressed.Also, the internet banking is yet to be fully accessed by Nigerians due to the issue of security, power, ignorance etc These concerns of Nigerians need to be addressed to pave way for the introduction and adoption of a cashless economy which most of us desire. The CBN should stop using the fire brigade approach in handling a sensitive sector such as the banking sector.People's confidence in the e-transactions need to be restored and improved where necessary. One year is definitely not enough to IMPOSE an electronic banking system. |

This Sanusi will never cease to amuse me. He wants to jump without walking.A cashless economy requires huge investment in financial electronic infrastructure, aggressive enlightenment programmes, proper security measures, staff training in the area of e-transactions etc.To control inflation, some measures have to be put in place other than the text book recommendations. There is need for proper and effective price control and standardization of products. If you visit a developing country such as Malaysia, you will notice that every product has a price tag, household items, fruits, transport, movie etc. These are measures put in place to curb sympathetic reactions in product prices and avoid unnecessary increase in prices by retailers. To me, Nigeria is not yet ripe for a cashless economy.But if we want to leapfrog then we must begin by investing in the infrastructure required for an efficient functioning of the financial system.Our internet services is one of the worst in the world, and yet we are talking about e-transactions. Sanusi is confused.He can't be running our economy on a trial and error method. |
