Investment › Re: Top 10 Best Nig. Investment Banks In This Meltdown Period? by chamber2(m): 2:54pm On Apr 21, 2011
well, i do not really know if what obtains in the uk and US is applicable to the Nigerian environment.Do Nigerian employers actually look at these global university MBA rankings?I have seen guys without work experience, local MBA or MSc hitting it well in the Nigerian finance sector. The Nigerian employers,to my little knowledge, still have this craze for paper qualifications, especially foreign. In most cases, they even consider the MBA and Msc as same( just postgrad degree). If one does not intend to work in the UK and US, what is the purpose of spending such a huge amount of money to obtain ''a piece of paper'' from an ivy league college only to return to Nigeria and be paid peanuts. My best option is, spend a little amount to acquire an MBA (no matter where) and then enroll for the CFA program if you want a career in Finance. By doing this, you spend little and still achieve global relevance. I will only attend an ivy league uni just for the ego, nothing more.
Sometimes i take out time to go through the profile of most of the big guys in the Nigerian finance sector. Most did their MBAs in Lasu, lag or a less prestigious uni in the UK or US.

well, no member of my family will live or ever do anything like NYSC in any northern state. These are bloody I.D.O.T.S. The north have never contributed anything meaningful to this country, always causing havoc and giving the in't community the impression that Nigeria is a war.

MAY GOD PUNISH ALL SUPPORTERS OF THIS EVIL AND ALL NORTHERN YOUTHS WHO ARE ENGAGED IN THIS VIOLENCE.THEIR GENERATION WILL NEVER HAVE A GRADUATE.
Education › Re: List Of The Top 10 Best Universities In Nigeria by chamber2(m): 3:13pm On Apr 16, 2011
does it really matter which school you attended or which one is first or better. in societies and climes that possess the basis and yardstick to grade, we will understand. the difference in the all these schools will probably be the number of obsolete equipment, dying facilities and local lecturers (that are not in touch with reality and the real world) that one has that the other does not. is there any university in this country where facilities are not stretched and where something industrially relevant and real time is being thought. no be every year these "best universities" dey turn out graduates who are continuously referred to as "unemployable". the sort of development and training we ought to get while on campus is now being done personally!!! people will only look at what you can deliver and your person. graduate with a first class from any Nigerian university and be an "industrial misfit" and see if people will care about which school u attended. imagine someone running a five year program in engineering without knowing anything relating to any form of relevant CAD design, wen be sey our lecturers and profs no dey feel the pulse of the industry, all dem research work na soso copy n paste work, all of us no go school jare, Grin, and our government no dey try!!!!
God bless you.You made intelligent statement without being biased. The so called grads of OAU,Unilag etc couldn't even make correct expressions during our NYSC CDS meetings, and none could make meaningful contributions.I saw majority copying(expo) during NIM exams. YEYE OAU,Unilag,Unilorin etc my foot.

“Before this incident happened, I had been hearing rumours that she was not faithful to me but since I did not have any proof, I decided to let it pass,” he said. “But a day before this thing happened, I called her and she told me that she was at Ikeja to collect N20,000 from a man; that her sister sent her there when it was like 9pm. I called her again and she said she will be spending the night there. So I told her that her sister was using her to get money from men; she denied it and I was angry
She may have died out of frustration not love. The police also needs to question the sister to know if the boy's claim is true. The sister may actually be using her as alleged by the bf and she became frustrated of the whole thing.

Though, an IT consultant and project management professional . . . well, maybe you want to make a crossover to finance. I think if you're interested in a finance career, CFA is good. Though how effective and recognized it is in the Nigerian market remains to be seen, in my view. For investment banking professionals looking to distinguish themselves, maybe. But an MBA finance or even an accounting qualification may just be a more reasonable route.

Essentially, though I am not the best qualified person to say this, I am not sure a CFA will open many doors for you in Nigeria. I haven't seen too many finance sector job adverts with CFA as a desirable qualification. I think maybe in 5-10 years, as we get more people quailified from Nigeria. For now, I think not.
I always admire your comments, you say it as it is.Not all these American and Uk based guys who will come here and dish out advise based on what is obtainable in those countries.Even though am in the process of getting all these, its not really for the job mkt, only for personal ego.

wanaj0- You are just simply bitter, very defensive as well. Don’t worry you might have your luck to ride in a plane and visit other country soon. Just continue praying…

suxes2005- FYI, There are Nigerians here who even fail in English 1, even your so called “Government Scholars” from big Universities here and those ones who claims that they grew up in UK but was born in Nigeria. Lolz!
I don't like the way you present your case. When it comes to the English Language Nigerians are much better than Malaysians.Only a very few Malays speak correct English. In most of these colleges you are talking about the Chinese,Indians and local Malays are employed to teach Nigerians English Language, what a pity?A friend of mine attended one of such classes when he first arrived Malaysia(visa stuff) and nearly fought with the Malay English teacher due to his constant grammatical blunders.Though I am quite sure that most Nigerians are not really in Malaysia for studies, they just want to make their money(any how) and go to a better country for studies. They use Malaysia as transit to other countries. Many Nigerians have traveled from Malaysia to Australia,New Zealand,Canada,Uk,US etc.

So,I want you to state it clearly that your language school is only for visa purposes so that you don't deceive genuine students who are desirous for knowledge acquisition.

I am studying and getting better education here that would be useful to Nigeria in the long run. The fact that I'm glued to my computer monitoring the outcome of the elections means my heart is still in Nigeria. That is not to say I'm not glad I came to study in the US cos the education I have gotten so far is uncomparatively better than the anything I got in Nigeria. Maybe this is also part of the reason I'm hoping for change, cos I know it can be better in Nigeria if and when we get our acts right. And that change just might be happening already!
you are doing yourself good, but i hate it when people detest anything Nigeria. Our press is still developing and are therefore in need of any idea that may make them better.Sometimes when i read the dailies where I am (not Nigeria) presently i begin to praise the Nigerian press. And yet you would imagine the rate at which the people here value their dailies so much that they cannot do without buying one everyday. They need our encouragement and suggestions not castigation.

Are you going to give him the money to build it?
his ideas worth money than money.
Politics › Re: National Assembly Elections, Saturday 9th April, 2011 by chamber2(m): 5:53pm On Apr 10, 2011
Nigerian press 'don fall my hand'. It is incredible that you can't find all collated results in one place, anywhere. What the heck are these people doing for crying out loud? In the US ( I know some people will descend on me for using the US as an example), results are uploaded by the press as soon as they are announced at the local voting center. Nothings wrong with that cos as long as results has been collated at the polling booth and announced, it becomes legit!! It doesn't take so much resources to do this simple thing. Ok, more than 24 hrs after elections, no news corp has sat down to collate and publish results announced so far. Everything is still all over the place. This is ridiculous.

Grow up Nigeria, grow up.
What are you still doing in the USA?You are enjoying what another built, why not build yours?

It is too early to celebrate, the major elections are yet to come. But whatever that may happen to PDP(i don't even care much) what i need is only the presidency.Nigerians should vote GEJ massively as president come saturday.Even the 1993 election cannot be as fair as what we are witnessing so far and for his sincerity of purpose,Nigerians will give their votes to GEJ.

This is not a question of people's mind changing. People have made up their minds to vote GEJ even before this extra achievement. Let the final results come out. Compare the total votes cast and spread for each party after that, you can start crying. The presidential election is about votes and spread. PDP is the most visible party in the nation. They have competed everywhere and emerged either as 1st or second. Even without adding the votes from other associated parties, PDP has the highest votes cast.

I was thinking why you are so against of Malaysia… Maybe you were here before and you were deported or the airport Immigration did not even allow you to enter Malaysia? Or maybe your visa was denied or your agent cheated you? Or maybe, you have dream of coming here but you cannot afford the visa and the plane ticket? That is why you’re so bitter. Don’t worry; if you do not like Malaysia….Malaysia also doesn’t like you…
Will you stop all these and go to bed woman. You don't even have a good grasp of the English language and you want to teach others.
