I fancy United against any team at OT on a CL night (big game). Hopefully we would have sorted out our leaky defence before February and having all our key players fit and ready. I'm only worried about the away fixture but bring it on, I'm confident.
Second half was very crap. I don't know why we always relent when we get comortable leads. We just slow down like the game is already in the bag. Sunderland had about 10 shots on target...at Old Trafford?
Debosky where u dey...u no dey Duduspace where u dey...e don tey I reach ur thread u no dey I see 4ller for Kingsway 4ller tell me say u no dey Wenger dey suffer for Emirate
StarBoard: It's actually shocking. If we had anything like a decent midfield, instead of relying on relics like Scholes and Giggs, Spurs and Norwich wouldn't have beaten us. But just because the going seems good (never mind embarrasing losses to Cluj and starts to games where we managed to claw our way back to win) peeps have forgotten how majority of us felt there was a need for a Central midfield signing
We wont be getting any until Fergie gets rid of Scholes and Giggs, they break a leg or we all go to Manchester and sort them out ourselves which is a shame really. We need to get rid of them to add otherwise we will be overloaded in that department.
afrodoc: i agree most of d players did rily well. de gea was more solid in aerial situations and was blameless for the 2 goals rafael is becoming mr dependable and evra seems more interested in defending these days than just bombing down d flank. rio n evans is a good partnership and smalling is an able deputy. however i believe a major factor in our surviving their periods of domination was the solidity offered by carrick and cleverly in midfield(carrick's postioning and judicious use of the ball and cleverly's running and ability to both see d pass and also make himself available for d pass). rooney had a few poor touches midway tru d 2nd half but overall was very impressive, young had his best game in a long while,RVP was a bit quiet but was involved in d buildup to one goal and scored d winner.
Yeah that was the major difference. I lost count of how many times Tom C made overlapping runs on the left and his mobility to get up and down the pitch was crucial. And that was a half-fit Tom C as well after picking up a knock in the CL. Scholes/Giggs would not have been able to do that and I hope Fergie has learnt from that now.
And I don't understand why people still criticise Carrick on this thread. He is our most important CM. Though he isn't a natural DM, he does the Busquets role perfectly for us with the way he starts our attack, spreads the ball out and screens our back four up to a certain extent. Only time he struggles is when he plays against Scholes/Giggs or plays at CB. He even made forward runs into City's box yesterday knowing fully well Tom C has the legs to cover for him. He does his job effectively and it's a shame people don't appreciate that. Very underrated!
Where is coogar? please watch out for Adnan Januzaj in the FA Youth cup tomorrow...what a player. I've never been the one to get excited over young players but this boy is special. He's the only reason I've watched more Under 18 games this season than the U-21's. Did you see his performance against Southampton U-18's at the weekend? I almost jizzed my pants. He plays that no 10 role perfectly for his age. Can't wait for that game tomorrow at OT.
Looking forward to see Jack Barmby too but as much as James Wilson is prolific at this level, I'm not sure if he'll make it at Old Trafford.
coogar: never been banned in this section - i am a law abiding citizen. besides, why restrict prolific career criminals like dayokanu and bluediva? they are the salt of this section - without their crimes and numerous offences, this section wouldn't be the most intellectual section on this forum!
