barcanista:
Mbadinuju for those who don't know was an unpopular and failed ex-PDP Governor of Anambra State. He governed the state between 1999-2003 and was rejected for second term by his own party only for INEC to announce Ngige as his successor rather than Peter Obi. Mbadinuju was accused of being responsible for the Gruesome murder of Chief Barnabas Igwe and his wife when he(Mbadinuju) was Governor. He lacked relevance both morally and politically in Anambra state. That he's now in APC is a testamment that APC was responsible for the wreckage of Anambra State between 1999-2006. Nigerians, what kind of change can these man bring to us?

We can Change from within the Jonathan led PDP. We can't handover power to the same people that wrecked us since 1999.

Tony Blair confirms meeting with Buhari

on February 23, 2015 / in News 5:00 pm / Comments

By Abiodun Alade @Biodunpen

Former Prime Minister and UK envoy to the Middle East, Tony Blair, has confirmed he held a private meeting with the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Gen Muhammadu Buhari(retd) in London, weekend.

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State had claimed Gen Buhari was not in any meeting with Tony Blair, but that the former head of state had checked into a London hospital. He claimed the APC photoshoped a photo showing Tony Blair, Buhari, Governor Amosu of Ogun State and former Kwara State Governor, Bukola Saraki.

Vanguard contacted Tony Blair’s office and got confirmation that the former Prime Minister did had a meeting with the APC candidate.
From Left; Gov Amosun of Ogun State, Gen Buhari, Mr. Blair and Sen. Saraki in London.

From Left; Gov Amosun of Ogun State, Gen Buhari, Mr. Blair and Sen. Saraki in London.

In an e-mail response to Vanguard’s inquiry, Rianne Buter, Senior Media Manager at The Office of Tony Blair, said: “ Mr. Blair had a private meeting with General Muhammadu Buhari in London,” adding that “Mr. Blair hopes to visit Nigeria shortly when he will see the President.”

It will be recalled that Fayose had claimed the photo of Buhari meeting with Blair was photoshopped.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Communication and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Fayose said, ”Without doubt, it is obvious that these cabal in the APC are trying so hard to deceive Nigerians on Buhari’s health status. That’s the reason they have been using ‘Photoshopped’ pictures to defend their lies on Buhari’s UK trip.

‪”First, they used a March 5, 2013 picture, claiming that Buhari was taking a walk in London on Thursday. Later they came up with another poorly cropped picture of Buhari with former British Prime Minister,Tony Blair.
PoliticsRe: Does Buhari Need Obasanjo's Blessing? by Change2015(m): 10:58pm On Feb 23, 2015
Buhari needs no blessing from Obasanjo and neither is Obasanjo wanted in the APC. For the person that likes to call Obasanjo APC's navigator, exactly what has he contributed to the development of the APC prior to this election campaign? Obasanjo is a egocentric bully and that is the pdps problem not ours. Of course perhaps there is some residual espirit de corps being that they are both ex-military. As it is Jonathan has sunk so low in Obasanjo’s eyes that he prefers another party's candidate to succeed. People need to ask why, but then again there is plentiful evidence that the vast majority of the country is sick and tired of this rudderless government. That is the fruit of Jonathans leadership. His time is up.

When gov didn't fight them, they blamed PDP, when gov started fighting them, they cried genocide. The gov stopped and they cried for the blood been shed by BH, now the gov/soldiers are winning the war and they are crying because they know they will hit jail soon.
So now there is a turn around right. The same people that claimed PDP governors will be jailed are crying because they will be jailed soon or probably killed by hanging... Shame the he-goat that wrote this piece of crap and to the mórons who believe this shyt, shame on you too..

This man should be arrested already. This shows greatly that he's a boko haram sponsor.

Money laundering: Court adjourns Fani-Kayode’s trial
February 23, 2015 by Ramon Oladimeji Leave a Comment

A Federal High Court in Lagos has further adjourned till February 24 and 25, 2015, the trial of a former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, facing money laundering charges.

Fani-Kayode’s trial was stalled on Monday owing to the absence in court of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s prosecutor, Mr. Festus Keyamo.

The trial judge, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, had adjourned till Monday for the ex-minister to open argument in his own defence against the charges of financial impropriety levelled against him.

Though the accused was in court and had proceeded into the dock upon calling the case, a counsel representing the EFCC, Mr. Somadina Okore, however stood up and pointed the attention of the court to a letter written by Keyamo asking the court for an adjournment.

Okore said, “Most respectfully, my Lord, earlier before now, the prosecutor in this matter, Mr. Festus Keyamo, has written a letter to this honourable court, informing the court that he is appearing before a Federal High Court in Yola today. He is praying this honourable court to vacate today’s date to allow him to appear and prosecute this case in person.”

Responding, Fani-Kayode’s lawyer, Mr. Wale Akoni (SAN), said he was aware of the letter and that he had no objection to the request for an adjournment. He also reminded the court that the matter was adjourned till Monday and Tuesday, adding that if it was convenient for the court, his client would go and return on Tuesday to stand trial.

In the circumstance, Ofili-Ajumogobia adjourned till Tuesday and Wednesday for continuation of trial.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Will Never Be Nigeria President - Fayose by Change2015(m): 1:44am On Feb 23, 2015
FrankC3:
I said it when Fayose released his newspaper advertorial and the eventual PDP dissociation of herself from that publication that we should watch the coming days. Fayose is there to energise a critical section of PDP followership that has been sidelined by GEJ brand of calm politics. With that advert, Fayose announced his arrival on the scene to lead that critical segment. PDP dissociation from the advert was like giving Fayose a roaming role on the field of play.

For those who are wise, this election is not just between PDP and APC or GEJ and Buhari, it is also between AKPD media headed by the ever brutal and dangerous David Axerold (if I get the name right) and local content team of PDP headed by Tony Aninih. AKPD has won unbelievable victories all over the world and believed themselves to be the best, PDP team is about to team them some humility. It will enliven the discussion of real African and local ingenuity when it comes to political strategy.

PDP is going to come out of this looking better. Over the last few days, the corruption chant is becoming monotonous to the ear of the populace, Buhari and APC are being increasingly on the defensive, Buhari's health is now a topic of discussion, APC is being presented as a party built on lies, APC leaders are being tackled even from their home base by those who believe that they have betrayed age long principles of regional autonomy, new alliances are being built that further solidifies GEJ position among others. All these are happening while GEJ has gone on project commissioning spree, reinforcing the idea that APC is built on lies having told Nigerians that GEJ has done nothing. Now, Fayose is a big factor, a single powerful source of frustration for the APC and her followers, and somehow, PDP has creatively told the world that they don't support Fayose's methods thereby presenting PDP as a group that does not play dirty. OBJ's tearing of his membership card is also not doing APC any good especially when placed side by side with Tinubu's invitation for him to be their navigator. On the social media, it is not looking better for them, with the likes of Barcanista, a man I respect for his clear and logical presentation of his position, cross carpeted with the message that those around GMB are fraudsters and non democrats. In fact, APC NL team were so foo.lish to start attacking the young man, fuelling the impression among the undecided that they are a violent lot, especially when one remembers that Barcanista was with PDP team before crossing over to APC in the first place without attracting any insult from the PDP team.

The next few days will be more interesting. One thing that any smart fellow will not deny is that APC campaign is in disarray, their strategy is presently uncoordinated, they are fast losing the undecided and their war chest seem terribly depleted. If I am to make a judgement, I will say that based on these, the margin of PDP victory is getting wider. GEJ will hand over power in 2019 and would have tamed all known political beasts of the country with a single blow. Quote me later, if this trend continues, by 2025, GEJ will be considered by many as the father of modern Nigeria.
Lol. That you rate Fayose so highly only goes to show how incompetent Jonathan is when it comes to organising anything. Your opinion is basically that the president has run a foolish campaign and voila here comes Fayose to the rescue? APC's campaign is in disarray? Surely you jest. The APC has set the agenda for discussion and has been a more interesting topic the Jonathan and his ephemeral transformation agenda. If only you had an idea about all the crisis meetings the pdp is having because they have seen no data to indicate they have a hope of winning the election. Try getting close to some sensible politicians and you will be enlightened. Then this meaningless kerfuffle will cease. The pdp is a corpse writhing in the throes of death, stop your delusions.

The term opposition party simply refers the the parties that are not in government or in alliance with government. Soon the pdp will be the opposition... Nothing irregular about that. Politics is a contest of ideas and there will always be an element of opposition in a democracy. It is actually essential, to keep the government in check.

PoliticsRe: "P.D.P" Has Been Ruling Nigeria For 15 Years?- A.P.C by Change2015(m): 10:34am On Feb 22, 2015
barcanista:
Usually, Campaign Organisation members do form the nucleus of the victorious party. As such, what else does these people have to offer beyond the chant of "Change" if brought to power considering that they have been part of leadership failure (with some playing leading roles) since 1999? Whither the scream of #Change?

NB: The Original write-up is not copy and paste, it specifically deals with the members of APC Campaign Organisation. I put it in quote to aid easy reading.
There is a basic wrong assumption here. The AC and CPC that are the strongest elements of the parties that came together to form the APC already had the power centres they revolved around and that remains essentially unchanged. A campaign organisation serves a different purpose. It exists to market the candidates and party and as such must reflect a regional spread of the most effective marketers the party has to offer for the purpose of advising and communicating effectively to all regions. There is also the fact that the various ethnicities must be accommodated. Some of the campaign personnel are indeed involved in policy formulation, but the party has separate structures for policy harmonisation and generation.
If you look deeper, you will see that the bulk of NADECO elements that stood in opposition to Abacha are in the APC and it is from that caucus that most Western governors, and the party chairman come from (relationships that were reinforced by their time in exile).
A salient question for you would be, why is it that all these people have found it impossible to work with Jonathan? The party chairman was and I believe is still a member of the South-South elders forum that met severally with the president to advise him and I believe there was general disappointment with at the outcome of their contributions. A wise politician gathers friends, quite unlike Jonathan who has lost significant members and diminished his party almost beyond repair. If the APC collects these decamped for its political advantage, that is realpolitik, they are simply working their advantage, but make no mistake, the tail does not wag the dog.
