MusaIbrahim1:Obasanjo’s son filed for divorce and gave the details as to why he wanted to end the marriage. Why should the woman who's marriage has been broken by the judge not extract her own pound of flesh? Perhaps the judge should have made sure her personal affairs were in order before bringing such scrutiny upon herself. If judges behave so brazenly how can their judgement be trusted when a divorce case comes before them? Will she find adultery perfectly acceptable in other court proceedings knowing she too is an active participant in such? Expect to hear more about her... |
A very cheap lie. Anyone with friends in the police or security establishment can tell you how many times he has been carried away in a stupor. Orubebe can also testify. Ish |
IsraeliAIRFORCE:It is amazing that you do not see that a policy that may have been appropriate in 1984 does not necessarily remain so even in 1985. When Diezani said we should not expect working refineries for another 20yrs should we have accepted that too and gone with the flow? What you say about Jonathan and country to country deals is surely a joke right? Where is the evidence? Why are participants in the oil industry frightened but glad Diezani is gone, a woman who had the addled Jonathan wrapped around her finger with the basest manipulations. Certainly indigenous participation and local content were laudable but not their original policy, even the PIB was effectively passed by the assembly after the government had been effectively terminated by the apc. Now the auditors have moved in with new management at NNPC so we will be hearing many more stories. Do you have any idea how many briefcase companies Diezani brought into the system? Companies that were formed weeks before their oil lifting licences or allocations were approved. Meanwhile we could have tied up a chunk of the Indian market as our American sales have disappeared due to the shale oil production boom. How many Gmd's did Diezani fire... |
GreatSoul:You are testing the waters of imbecility by persisting so. Whether she wishes to be high or low profile is not your business or mine. All that should concern you is that no government funds are spent on 'projects' or ventures as she has no formal government role. As the wife of the president, her mail will be vetted and responses will be made in accordance with the wishes and leanings of the government, so she will necessarily be guided and assisted in her work. If that pains you, I'm cool with it, but in every civilised nation it is necessary that the leaders partner is guided so they do not act or speak in ways that may be inconsistent with the government. If you expect her to sit in the kitchen plucking Bitterley shame on you. Even the empty headed dame was said to have supported Jonathan through school with her trading activities. Women are more than cooks and baby factories. |
This weed is strong o. Lol. Biafra tales by moonlight |
IsraeliAIRFORCE:Lol, you are a typical Jonathan person. Thanks for amusing me. Next thing according to you we will be hawking our oil in the streets abi? Ish |
GreatSoul:There will be assistants to work with her and stationery (lol, really) etc. But beyond her movements and the works she wishes to undertake, she has no official portfolio, no budget blah blah. It is not yours or my business if she wishes to be high or low profile. That is another discussion altogether. Carry on speculating sha... When pdp appropriated billions for dame illiterate pet projects I'm sure you were protesting loudly. Ish |

adconline:The state government employs and owes workers, not the governor. The states revenues are not only for salaries, especially when the public sector is the most wretched and unproductive part of the economy. Perhaps if NOI was not stealing from rainy day fund, the governors would not have taken the federal government to court to declare the scheme unconstitutional. Certainly many governors have been reckless in managing their states, but this is a democracy and the presumption is that you elected them with your eyes wide open. |
OPCNAIRALAND:Your point of view is skewed. The APC is a national party with more than twice as many states in the north than in the south west. If Tinubu is able to dominate the south West, the nation can increasingly see that he has trouble dealing with independent minded people. Saraki is not a major issue for the apc right now and the trouble gbaja has was in part because of his perceived closeness to him. Is there any political philosophy you can say he believes in, what will he leave behind? Certainly nothing close to Awolowo. He has shown his ambitions early and there will be resistance. Where is Mamora now, a widely admired politician tossed aside because? Over the next four years we will all observe the curtailing of his ambitions on the national scene. Mark my words. |
adconline:The revenues of Nigeria are rightly spent on the people of Nigeria. If you have a problem with your governor, that is unfortunate but they are the elected representatives of their respective states and the president cannot fold his hands and watch workers go unpaid and strikes break out across the land to prove some point. Spending by workers also stimulates the economy and that has to be taken into consideration. As for the office of the first lady, when you discover how it is being illegally funded, do let us know. Until then all you have is baseless speculation. The era of the ridiculous Dame is over. |
4Play:When oil is being stolen at source, do you expect the revenues to be reflected in the National income figures? Obasanjo (crook that he was) worked to erase our national debt, so please compare the debt he left behind and that Jonathan left. Jonathan presided over the largest inflows of revenue ever in the history of this country, and yet all our major infrastructure projects appear to be tied to foreign loans, especially from the Chinese, who will smuggle in as many of their own people to work on the same projects, with future oil production being partially mortgaged to repay said loans. For all the revenue of the recent oil boom, where is the commensurate development? |
IsraeliAIRFORCE:Swaps were introduced to deal with our lack of refining capacity and we expected refined products as part of the bargain. For that purpose NNPC has always had a domestic allocation of crude. The ioc's already take a percentage of production to cover their investment in production. Where else would we need agents/intermediaries to deal with another sovereign nation, if not that people are looking to collect commission for very little work? Especially when you have read here that Iran and Saudi Arabia are offering the same major consumer incentives to corner their business. If your understanding is little, silence works best. |
IsraeliAIRFORCE:Please stop this display of ignorance. He was trying to be gentle with you. Your post shows you have little understanding of the role the Ioc's play in the industry or what good business practice is. |
Bobby4090:When you understand politics better, you will realise the animosity that Tinubu is building up against himself. APC scrapped to victory in lagos, and yet Saraki, kwankwaso and many others delivered their states with 70% minimums... Tinubu is also at the center of the smearing of Fashola, Feyemi, Saraki and every politician who stands in his way. He can deny all he wants but many of us in the apc know better. Since they mentioned Lawan for Senate president, has the Lawan for one second shown himself to have the public interest at heart? Have you heard any comment or speech from him that shows he cares one iota about the public welfare? Has he pressed for senators to reduce their allowances? Has Tinubu even supported the idea of reduced allowances publicly? The same people that like to shout party supremacy, did not use their majority in either house to reduce their wages. So what does Tinubu want his man there for? Let him understand, the apc will never present Tinubu for any elected office ever, and any persons so intimately connected with him will suffer the same problems Gbaja suffered, because we are getting tired of his overbearing nature. Politics of opportunism (didn't he support Jonathan over Ribadu our own candidate, for personal benefit) and strategy without philosophy. The south West can do better for sure. What is the political philosophy he brings to the apc? When you discover it please let me know. Using Akande to cause further rancour in the party was pathetic and obvious. Saraki is Senate president, and if the votes are not there to remove him then the intelligent thing to do is shut up and quit acting like a b*tch. I am personally very disappointed in him, but if he thinks the apc will roll over to his whims, let him ponder. The attack on Fowler is a warning. There are other interests in the party, and the south West is failing to provide the philosophical input that would ensure a more agreeable understanding and alliance of the north and south West. That is the tragedy of thee national leader, devouring his own children and leaving nothing concrete behind, very much unlike Awo. |
adconline:So when your elected governors beg the president to bail them out of a financial crisis, and he agrees to do so in consultation with all the political authorities, this becomes a problem for you? The same people criticising the governors for not paying salaries blah blah... Interesting. This was an emergency situation and a request that will surely not be repeated. Has anyone been asking for funds for any first lady activity? How would it qualify as a security vote matter, or do you think Buhari is a thief in the style of Jonathan and the regular political class? I can hardly be insulting something whose existence is yet to be established. |
GreatSoul:It is rather ignorant to think the ministry of women /youth exists to give the wife of the president something to do. Please remember noone ever heard of Mrs Gowon when her husband was our leader. Mariam Babangida at least had a novel idea but since her time it has been copycat season and the garrulous patience Jonathan was just a scandalous display of the couples general depravity and lust for money and self adoration. You may want to tell us clearly exactly what Mrs Buhari has been spending money on, since you are so full of indignation about something. You probably didn't give them your vote, but there you are, ranting like you ever wished Nigeria the best outcome from the election. |
Immanueladebol:Perhaps you don't understand that all government spending must be legally passed in an appropriation law, by the national assembly, and this government has no plans to do that. Certainly she will have staff to advise her on the charities and good works she wishes to or is invited to support, but no one should go there looking for contracts or other frivolous activities. That is how wives of leaders in civilised settings conduct themselves. Aisha Buhari is not your comedic Dame. |
History of Lagos State Prior to the Portuguese name of Lagos being adopted, Lagos was originally called Eko, which stems from either Oko (Yoruba: "cassava farm" or Eko ("war camp" , by its Bini conquerors. History has it that the Oba of Bini sent various trade expeditions to Ghana where spices were traded and one of his traders complained about the way she was being treated by the Awori's. The Oba of Bini then sent a trade expedition by sea. Ironically, the leader of the expedition arrived in the evening at a time when the people who were predominantly fishermen were either wading into the water or getting into their boats to gather their catch. He declined to engage them further and returned to what is now called Benin City where he reported to the Oba of Bini that they were attacked. This prompted the Oba of Bini to constitute a war expedition led by Ado, a Bini Prince to go to Lagos and demand an explanation. This was over 650 years ago. However, on getting there, they were well received. The people were so enamored with Ado they asked him to stay and lead them. He agreed on the condition that they surrendered their sovereignty to the Oba of Bini to which they agreed. The Oba of Bini was told this and he gave his permission for the expedition to remain. The Oba of Bini later sent some of his chiefs including the Eletu Odibo, Obanikoro and others to assist Ado in the running of Eko. Till today, the Oba of Lagos is the head of all the Kings in Lagos State and his status is different from other Oba's most of whom were later given back their crowns and staff of office only within the last 40 years and have various classifications. Suffice it to state that those who got their crowns back were the original land owners. These were Olofin's children. Moreover, modern day Lagosians have so intermingled that no single tribe or people can claim it even though the predominant language is Yoruba. The present day Lagos state has a higher percent of this sub-group who allegedly migrated to the area from Isheri along the Ogun river.History has it that the Awori were actually from Ife the cradle of Yorubaland. The Awori people are a peaceful people initially not taken to warfare. Due to war, those from the hinterlands, like the Ekiti ran towards Isheri which at that time had more than one Olofin (Alafin)who were heads of probably respective settlements about 1400AD. With the fleeing people from the hinterlands most of them scattered again to different places, some to Iro, to Otta, Ado, others to Ebute Metta i.e three landing places - Oyingbo, Iddo and Lagos Island (Eko). The Olofin that brought those who went to Ebute-Metta was Ogunfunminire later known as Agbodere. With the full commencement of the war about 2000 moved to the nearest island of Iddo, others to Otto Awori or Otto Ijanikin towards modern-day Badagry. Those from Ekiti Aramoko came to Ebute-Metta, Iddo and then Ijora. The Olofin was said to have 32 children. His own known children are Olumegbon, Aromire, Oloto, Oluwa, Oniru, Onisiwo, Onitoolo, and Elegushi. Ojora, Onikoyi and Mogiso were not his biological children. After the demise of Agbodere, the name Olofin became the name used to remember him while a title of Oloto was given to his seccessor. With one of his sons becoming the Oloto his other children parted ways to what is known as visible settlements in the present day Lagos. Aromire whose name means defeated the river or became the river's friend is likely to be the first to cross being said to have swam across the river. It is possible that his real name is not Aromire but due to the feat he became known as such. Until the coming of the Bini's, Lagos's geographic boundary was what is known now as Lagos Mainland. Lagos Island, the seat of the Oba of Lagos then consisted of a pepper farm and fishing posts. No one lived there though. The name Eko was given to it by its first King Oba Ado during its early history, it also saw periods of rule by the Kingdom of Benin.[1] Eko was the land area now known as Lagos Island where the king's palace was built. The Palace is called Iga Idunganran which, translated means Palace built on the pepper farm. Oba Ado and the warriors from Benin as well as some of the indigenous people who sought safety settled down in the southern part of Eko called "Isale Eko", Isale literarily meaning bottom, but must have been used to indicate downtown (as in Downtown Lagos). http://www.lagosstate.gov.ng/pagelinks.php?p=8 |
otr1:The place and the word are both permanent reminders of the impact of Benin on lagos, quite apart from Lagos once being a part of the bini empire as was Onitsha. |
after1:You think they are interested in this kind of logic that punctures their bigoted visions and understanding? Good luck! |
otr1:Haba. So what does Eko mean in lagos? We have all influenced each other and this vanity is foolishness at work. Even lagos State government acknowledges the influence of the bini on lagos. Check out the official website. |
Volksfuhrer:The history of the empires that emanated from Nigeria is well known by now. Any from the south-east? |
SeverusSnape:More like psychiatric delusions |
Perhaps if you are so well I formed about the whistleblower bill, you can post the draft or details here? A bill drafted by a pdp majority and rushed through in the dying moments of the last parliament? Let us know the parts of the bill you have read at least. |
tobtap:You don't understand he is only here to stimulate anti-muslim sentiments. An evil dweeb |
Still hawking the crap I see. Why not mention the 'Aisha' that met Akpabio and swindled him claiming her 'father' was Buhari. Even Akpabio is now embarrassed at how he was swindled by a ghost, but you are here peddling the story as if the person using the name was not a fraud, just like you! |
See what Jonathan has done? |
mikolo80:Please pass the joint..... |
jerseyboy:In your post-election bitterness you cannot wrap your puny brain around the idea that there will be no government funding for the office, considering the disrepute the ignorant illiterate Patience did to the office? |

or Eko ("war camp"
