Anytime I see the word 'hate' used in this context, it is certain that a display of immaturity will follow. The USA cannot be bothered enough with Nigeria to be hating anything. And we should not be crying to them or the United Nations either. After 50yrs we are still struggling to manage our affairs but it is always easy to spot who hates you, even as they are doling out visas and residency permits for your people? They have enough to worry about and think about, and let's face Nigeria is not exactly a high priority interest, unless Jonathan succeeds in precipitating civil unrest. And that plan will not work. Is it only America that sells arms? This kind of village talk sef...

whether you like it or not GEJ will remain your president till 2019.

A Yoruba man made it possible for him to become president and it backfired on him and the rest of who are now weeping and whining and scheming as usual on how to remove him from office by fire by force but it won't work.
I'm sure the hope was that GEJ might mature after 8yrs under Yaradua (the most positive spin I can imagine) but no one anywhere claims Obasanjo deliberately wanted GEJ as president. As it is, it is the country weeping at his amazing incompetence. Even Jonathan knows that winning the election will take more than a miracle. He will be removed quietly by the voters next month, no need for fire or force, he simply isn't worth it.

You see when you shout change, you are expected to bring something different from the norm but it seems the reverse is the case in your own case. As far as I can recall, Obj has not been given any chance to participate in the government, that his exParty men flocks to him as a former President and leader does not make him a changed man.

As for GEJ, I cannot support executive rascality, but I have never seen where a Governor is embarrassed out of Office by less than 2/3 of State Parliamentarians. This is a FACT!
The case of NGF is an irrational one. The Nigeria Governors' Forum is like a Market Women Association, it is not recognized by the constitution and the parliament. So whatever goes on there is their business and not that of Nigerians. No one has arrested Amaechi for holding his NGF meeting neither has anyone arrested Jang. Mimiko can wake up tomorrow and form his own.
The cases of Ekiti and Ogun(2010-2011) are condemnable, however, there is the court to go settle issue and get illegality upturned. I also condemned in strong terms the assault on judges.

During Obasanjo era, less than the required number impeached Obi of Anambra State, the court upturned it. Yet it took the appeal court to rule before Obi was reinstated.
5 Members impeached Governor Dariye, the Court Upturned it.
18 out of 32 members impeached Ladoja, they sat in a hotel, the court upturned it.
Atiku Abubakar was "sacked" by Obasanjo, the court upturned it.
INEC under Obj arrogated powers to themselves to disqualify Atiku, the Court Upturned it.
Obi, Mimiko, Oshiomole, Aregbesola and Fayemi were denied their mandate under OBJ, the Court upturned it.
Need we go on?
On executive rescaling, what would you call this?

Jonathan endorses Gov Jang’s faction

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan | credits: File copy

President Goodluck Jonathan has moved to formally recognise Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang, as the chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum.

Jonathan had consistently denied any link to the intrigues that preceded the May 24 election of a new chairman of the forum.

The President had also denied backing any candidate after a crisis erupted over the declaration that Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, beat Jang by 19 – 16 votes in the election.

But, Jonathan shifted ground on Thursday night at the PDP family dinner in Abuja, when in his address he recognised Jang as “the chairman of the NGF.”

On Friday, the Plateau State governor led 12 governors and two deputy governors to a meeting with the President, where a source said Jonathan formally recognised Jang as the winner of the election and pledged to do all in his power to ensure a smooth tenure for Jang.

Jonathan’s volte-face came some days after a video recording of the election was circulated on social media and shown on a private television station. The recording indicated that Amaechi actually got 19 votes while Jang garnered 16.

On the contrary, the person who steals from the state steals from all the people that might have benefitted from responsible government spending. The people who have sense already know Jonathan is a lost cause and are courting Buhari and the APC. But crime should have consequences to really act as a deterrent in this country. If the cases of corruption can be proved, the new government must not be lenient. This is why the people are clamouring for Buhari. Enough of corruption and executive irresponsibility.

PoliticsRe: APC Has Won The Elections, Except PDP Rigs On The Other Side – Tinubu by Change2015(m): 2:11pm On Feb 20, 2015
There is nothing Asiwaju has said that would surprise any core pdp member. Both parties have been conducting polling and other surveys and as I gather even the pdp's best projection does not give them victory in 13 states, and the APC polling also reflects this. Why else is the government afraid to face the electorate, knowing the scale of defeat awaiting it? It also explains why many pdp elected officials are trying to establish more friendly relations with their APC colleagues. PDP supporters on nairaland are frothing over some imaginary possibility of victory when the mood in the country is already looking to understand how a Buhari - led government will operate, who will be in it and what it's priorities will be.
Jonathan has boxed himself into a corner with the delay of the election, but his 'talent' such as it exists, is always in making bad moves, and in keeping corrupt companions. He has the best friends money can buy, but soon access to the treasury will be lost. 5yrs to prove himself a friend to the masses, and it is clear that he has failed woefully. Jonathans time, is over. Buhari is the man for today.

PoliticsSR Dares Obanikoro To Sue In The USA by Change2015(op): 7:38pm On Feb 19, 2015

Go To Court, SaharaReporters Dares Obanikoro
February 19, 2015 • By admin

Online news portal, SaharaReporters, has challenged former Minister of State for Defence and ministerial nominee, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, to go ahead with his threat to sue it for exposing the audio tape of the meeting he had with a military officer and others to rig the 21 June, 2014 governorship election in Ekiti State.

SaharaReporters, through its publisher, Omoyele Sowore, in a phone chat with P.M.NEWS on Thursday, challenged Obanikoro to go to court.

Obanikoro, who, in his desperate move to get his ministerial nomination approved by the National Assembly, has reportedly confessed to some senators that he was in Ekiti State on the eve of the election and was at the meeting at the behest of President Goodluck Jonathan and that he has asked his U.S. lawyers to sue SaharaReporters.

Sowore said he would be delighted to see Obanikoro in New York where he expects the former minister would thoroughly mess himself up because his libel suit would lack merit and he won’t be able to bribe any judge to pervert the course of justice in his favour.

He said Obanikoro would suffer the same fate as three other Nigerians who tried to sue SaharaReporters for libel in New York but ended up losing their cases.

According to Sowore, Paul Orhii, the Director-General of NAFDAC; Emeka Ugwonye, a Nigerian lawyer who helped the Nigerian government to sell properties in U.S., and another Nigerian lawyer, Eric Abakporo, at various times, sued him and SaharaReporters for libel but lost.

He said the case of Abakporo, a pastor, was even more pathetic as he ended up being jailed for seven years as a fraudulent estate agent who also duped an old woman in U.S.

Sowore said the ultimate defence against libel is the truth, adding that a U.S. company has authenticated the voices in the audio tape and there was no way Obanikoro could controvert or deny it.

He said that in a decent society, Obanikoro ought to be arrested, tried and jailed for his role in the Ekiti rigging.

“It is a shame he is being rewarded with a ministerial appointment,” Sowore said.

Obanikoro had earlier denied his involvement in the Ekiti meeting, only to turn around to confess to several senators in Abuja that he did participate in an election-eve meeting in Ekiti in June 2014 in which a group of politicians and government ministers met with a Nigerian army general to rig the governorship election in favour of Ayodele Fayose, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

The meeting, which is now known as “Ekitigate”, was secretly taped by an Army Captain, Sagir Koli, who was subsequently forced to flee for his life.

Obanikoro’s story is that he was simply making “peace” between the army and Ayo Fayose at the meeting, claiming that he was not party to any conversation about rigging.

On the contrary, Obanikoro, who was at the time junior Minister for Defence, is overheard clearly on the tape bragging about the authority granted him by President Jonathan.

He was heard in the audio tape telling the Army General, Brig.Gen Momoh, that his promotion depended on whether he was ready to ‘play ball’.

According to SaharaReporters, prior to admitting his involvement to the Senators, the former minister met with President Jonathan to discuss the tape and his role.

A presidency source said Obanikoro told President Jonathan he was present at the meeting but that a part of the audio-recording was “doctored”.

The source said President Jonathan had called Obanikoro to the meeting to discuss how to mitigate the damage caused by the leaked tape.

Obanikoro told the Senators categorically that it was Jonathan himself who had sent him to Ekiti to help Fayose win the election.

On the tape, Obanikoro says, at least twice, that he is on a “mission” for the President.

He also reportedly told President Jonathan at their meeting that he had asked his US-based lawyers to do a separate voice analysis of the tape and that the lawyers came back with “proof” that certain aspects of the tape had been doctored by SaharaReporters to make the administration look bad.  Counting on that assurance, President Jonathan told a team of reporters from the Wall Street Journal during an interview that the tapes were not real and that he would not investigate the incident.

There is a difference.
The new APC is a four quadrant party
1) The aggrieved members of the old PDP
2) those from Tinubu political dynasty
3) Those from ANPP/CPC (Buhari ) political block
4) Those that just plainly hate Jonathan or his leadership style.
It is these same mixture that may make or mar APC in the medium and long-run.
You know he asks the question not looking for serious answers. Even from that list one can only admire the fortitude of yoruba politics (not the hungry and whining Afenifere relics). Tambuwal was made speaker of the House with the express support of the AC against the wishes of the pdp establishment.

The question he should also ask is this; Why has the president demonstrated a remarkable ability to sow discord and diminish the membership of his own party, and the territorial integrity of Nigeria?

PoliticsRe: Why Obasanjo Endorsed Buhari By Ngozi Okonjo Iweala by Change2015(m): 11:02am On Feb 19, 2015
satysaca:
By Ngozi Okonjo Iweala

WHY OBASANJO ENDORSED BUHARI

Why am taking a swift from supporting General Buhari . Just few hours ago, Obasanjo endorsed General Buhari as the man to deliver this nation. I was personally shocked, when I heard the news. This is because, I was expecting Baba to stay at the touch line, and leave Nigerians to study his body language. But the masquerade could not control his dance in the public market. Hence he mistakenly flogged his own mother who is also a trader in the market. Nigerians, I am left with no option than to tell us that, these ex-generals and their boys are up to something. The issue at hand is not all about the presidential seat. But rather, the national cake (oil blocks). Less I forget, is it not the same Obasanjo who woke up and hand picked his puppet 2011 , who eventually grew like Joseph the messiah of Egypt? Is it not the same Obj that told us [in] 2011, that General Buhari is too old to rule this country? Is it not the same Obj that told us Buhari is a dictator? Somebody should have a rethink like me. We must understand the preacher's language before decoding his message. If Obj can take a swift and prefer General Buhari to Jonathan, a puppet he dedicated his energy and resources to win 2011 election, then as an average Nigerian, we should have a rethink and ask our leaders what is so special in Aso Rock. If leadership is to serve the people, why is it that, the ex-generals finally gang up against their new recruit on account of change? If we're to outline the sins of Mr.President, are the ex- generals not guilty of such sins? One may ask why is [the] SPEAKER taking a swift? Everybody wants change. But I am astonished the way and manner these ex- general(s) joined the train of change. Is it that, this is the first time they heard the word change? If NO, why did they not change this country when they were given opportunity? Why advocating for change now when the puppet body language shows he Will not renew their oil blocks licence? Why advocating for change now, when the puppet purchased equipment to monitor and reduce vandalism? Why advocating for change now, when the strong headed puppet wiped out their ghost names from the civil service pay roll? Why advocating for change now, when the puppet sacked your boys as corrupt ministers? Why advocating for change now, when the puppet refused to dump Sambo for another puppet? Why advocating for change when he refused to kill Nigerians indiscriminatel y. But rather he is exploiting all means of dialogue. Unlike your Odi brutal killings and destruction. Why advocating for change now, when the puppet refused to twist governors hands with EFCC to pave his way like you did? Why advocating for change now, when at 72 years, you still tell your children of 50years they are the leaders of tomorrow? Why advocating for change now, when the puppet refused to give you the fertilizer deal? Why advocating for change now, when the puppet refused to jail your enemies? Why advocating for change now, when the puppet refused to rig election for your daughter? Why advocating for change now, when in your time railways were not working? Why advocating for change, when in your time, our judiciary could not delivered a fair judgement in favour of (the) oppositions? Baba,Nigerians are fed up of you sitting in Otta, deciding their future. We want to decide our destiny with the help of God. We want to practice true democracy by using our votes to decide our future. Let the good works or antecedents of our leaders speak volume(s) for them. Just after the presidential chat with Mr.President, we discovered that, you, your colleagues and errant boys, are spreading false informations to pave your way to aso rock. Lastly, I challenge you Baba, ‪#‎Tinubu‬, ‪#‎Atiku‬ and others to tell Nigerians you don't have oil blocks or you Generals are not fighting the last battle to protect your oil blocks. They won't come out and speak my brothers and sisters. They want us to believe they are fighting for us. When they have their own local refineries at their backyards.
