A man who is alleged to be a kidnapper and was arrested by the police - has claimed innocence of the crime he's being accused of.  Last week, the man identified as Mr. Harris Terungwa Magudu, was arrested and paraded alongside some suspects at the Benue State Police Headquarters in Makurdi.

Report has it that Mr. Harris (a father of two children) is a graduate of Industrial Physics from the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi and a carpenter alongside two of his friends who were arrested with him on grounds of kidnapping.

On Sunday, October 7, 2018, I was accompanied by two friends to the Makurdi Maximum Prison where we met with Mr. Harris to hear his story. He has been tortured beyond human recognition and he limped in pain to get to where we sat. The whole of his body is covered with scars and deep wounds that have been left untreated.

He explained that, on or about 19th day of September at about the hour of 8pm, he left his home on Benue State Civil Service Commision Street to get airtime and on his way back, a car was parked and he saw some persons around it. Since it was dark he didn't get to notice who they were until he got too close when they had already pointed a gun at him, slapped him and asked him to lie down. When he lay down, he discovered a woman was also lying down alongside her daughter. They searched him and finding just his phone on him, they took it. They also took the woman in the car and drove off.

Later same night, the woman returned and explained how they took her around Makurdi town in the car and ended up dropping her at Naka Road where she boarded a bike back home. That night, they were later to hear that, another woman had been kidnapped. This whole incidence happened and events overtook it.

About two weeks after the incident, men from the headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS) Called at his house and inquired to know a few things about him and whether he was missing a phone. He explained the above incident to them and how his phone was lost in the process. They advised him to go and make a formal report to the police about his missing phone and then proceed to block the line. This he did the following morning. He reported at B Division and proceeded to block the line.

About a week after the call of the DSS officers, his younger brother whom he (Harris) had made his next of kin while registering the line that was lost called Harris from the village that his (younger brother) attention was needed by the State Head of Service for an employment letter. Harris's younger brother had been a casual staff of the Benue State Government. So the call made it seem like, they were to be interviewed and made permanent staff. He then urged Harris to call the number and get the letter for him.

Harris in a bid to get the letter for his younger brother walked into the waiting arms of the police, the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the IG of Police. There was no letter from the Head of Service after all. It was a bait to get to Harris. Upon discovery that he was the one they wisked him away. The family was lost as to his whereabouts for days before he showed up in handcuffs in company of police officers severely beaten up. They ransacked his house but found nothing as the wife and kids cried. They again took him away.

As he explained this to me and my friends, Harris cried. He said he underwent the torture of his life, that he should admit to being a kidnapper and offering up the arms that they use and mentioning names of his accomplice. Since he couldn't say admit to what he didn't know, they tortured life out of him. They made him wear handcuffs and forced him to squat, forcing his hands to his ankles, fixing a stick across his laps from behind, tying and suspending him on an iron bar up and severely beating him. Harris said he contemplated suicide but there was no way. The forced handcuffs have created deep cuts on his wrists. He has a broken leg and scars all over his body.

His community had come together when they discovered of his arrest and spend a whole day at D Division where he was initially kept attesting to his innocence and insisting that, he should be released. They police refused and later got them arrested and detained for hours as he was later made to understand.

On a second time again, the police showed up in his house with him and acussed the wife of hiding guns for Harris, asking her to bring them. The wife who was in tears brought forth their two kids as the guns she was in custody of. The police shot into the ground in the presence of the kids and removed the empty bullets. They took the family flat screen TV, collected the wife's phone and again left.

They continued their torture on him everyday while also denying his family access to him. They moved him around the police station in Makurdi to spend the nights. He said he has slept at the C Division, E Division, D Division and the Police Headquarters.

The torture became unbearable and there was no way to carryout the suicide he contemplated and the police told him, the only alternative was to admit to the crime. Absent choice, he admitted to what he has never done in his life and what he would never do. His friends with whom they did capentry where also picked and paraded as suspects alongside him. At this point while Harris analyzed, he could not hold back his tears and so we too, we all cried.

Harris was also made to confess before the Commisioner of Police on Camera else there were threats that he would be tortured to death. His body is testimony to the torture he underwent. Since then, there has been no medical attention and he has a dislocated leg occasioned by the torture that has been left unattended to.

When his friends got a lawyer to engage the police, the police promised to charge him to court but never did. It was until a motion of production otherwise called habeas corpus was served on the police that, they hurriedly charged him to court and got him remanded at the Makurdi Maximum Prisons in kanshio where he is.

Here's an update on the Nigerian man whose intestines were ripped out during attack by cultists in Malaysia. According to reports, the man simply identified as 'Ratty' was released from the hospital last month after the brutal attack.

He was pictured (right) drinking with his friends while celebrating his miraculous survival. 

Ratty was stabbed by some cultists during a clash between the Vikings and the Black Axxe in August in Cheras, Malaysia..

The victim was stabbed gruesomely by his attackers was left lying on the ground with his intestines out. .

He was rushed to the hospital where he was treated.

The Malaysian police arrested the Vikings cult members who attacked the victim, alleged to a Black Axxe member. The suspects identified as Collins aka Ozodi (Viking National IC) and Izu (Aro Chief Striker) – were arrested on Monday, August 13.

An unidentified young boy was electrocuted while allegedly trying to steal electric wire in Delta state. The incident happened on Monday, October 8th, along Yoruba Road axis in Sapele area of the state.

The boy died while holding the carpenter pincers which he used in cutting the wire before electrocution.

As at the time of filing this report the identity of the young man who is said to be Hausa is yet to be ascertained as members from the Hausa/Muslim extraction in Sapele denied knowing anything about him. 

His corpse was evacuated by the police who took it to the mortuary in order to wait the family to lay claims.

A mild drama occurred on Saturday afternoon in the heart of Reggio Calabria, a town in Italy after a Nigerian immigrant decided to create a public scene.

The man was allegedly seen damaging an entrance door to the offices of the city's cathedral.

According to reports, police officers in San Francesco da Paola, a few meters from the main entrance of the building, chased him before he reached a square and climbed a building through some service pipelines.

Armed with a knife, he threatened to cut the wires as he asked the police and officials who surrounded him to get away so he can escape. But eventually, the knife slipped from his hand and he was left unarmed as can be seen in the trending video posted online.

Meanwhile, the square was filled with onlookers who witnessed the scene.

The man later came down after the police set up a ladder for him before he was taken to the station.Watch the video below,

Lagos State Police Command early Monday morning arrested 5 trans-border robbers fleeing into Lagos after robbing an Ogun State based haulage company’s warehouse.

The 9-man robbery gang was led by a Cameroonian born, Ahmed Ibrahim, 33 and one Obinna, who along with three others are now at large.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, parading the suspects today at the State Command, stated that the robbers were intercepted at Toll Gate border of Lagos and Ogun State by a patrol team of Rapid Response Squad stationed in the area. They were chased by the team when they refused to stop before they later halted at Meiran Junction, Lagos.

Apart from Ahmed Ibrahim, four other members of the gang equally arrested include, Kelechi Nebu (30), Ndueso Sunday (45), Tochukwu Egemuka (33) and Obinna Oforkaja (30).

Items recovered from the robbers included: one Volvo truck with registration number KRD 515 XR, 13 unit of truck tyres, 1 refrigerator, 26 gallons of 4 litre engine oil, 24 gallons of 25 litres of engine oil, two batteries, assorted charms, one cutlass and two knives.

According to the haulage company’s security guard, Kenny Peters, “I was doing the rounds when they held me from the back. They wanted to shoot me first but one of them cautioned them that it won’t hurt me. They macheted me in the forehead and beat me with all manners of rods including truck wheel spanners. They tied my hands to the back and carried me to one fence, thinking that I was dead.

They looted the company’s store and were set to go when I woke up. I hung on to the back of the truck from Dalemo, Sango Ogun State to Toll Gate, where I saw RRS Team. I alerted them and they chased the truck to Meiran Junction, where they were forced to stop. Four of them fled while 5 were arrested.”

According to sources within the company, the leader of the gang, Ahmed Ibrahim, was the brother of the haulage firm’s former security guard, who in a similar operation stole about 100 truck tyres from the company in August 2018.

The leader of the gang confessed to have recruited one Obinna, who mobilized seven more robbers for the operation.

Police have already arrested the driver of the truck, Kudus Adebayo (33), while investigation is ongoing to arrest other members of the gang.

Another batch of repentant cultists and youths of Etim Ekpo in Akwa Ibom state, have come out of their hideout in the jungle to surrender their arms and lay down their weapons following the state government’s move towards granting amnesty to the hoodlums who have terrorising the area.

The repentant youths have been gathered at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo for a briefing by governor Emmanuel Udom.

Just last week, hundreds of cultists belonging to various groups in Etim Ekpo and Ukanafun local government areas of Akwa Ibom state, surrendered their arms.

The hoodlums also renounced their membership of the cult groups.

Governor Emmanuel, while addressing the repentant hoodlums, blamed the underdevelopment currently witnessed in the Ukanafun and Etim Ekpo on their activities, stating that no contractor would be willing to work in areas where there is no peace.

Last month, a young man made the headlines after driving his "customised vehicle" to the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu state.

The young man who was said to be test-driving the “customised car” , drove it round the school to the admiration of other students.

It was revealed that the ‘open-wheel vehicle’ was constructed by the talented man with locally sourced materials.

Recently, the 'custom made vehicle' was spotted again in Enugu metropolis, as people gathered including two excited women to get a feel of it.

A serving corp member in Rivers state, Success Ochulor, is lucky to be alive after being involved in a ghastly motor accident on her way to Aba, Abia state. She revealed that even the driver broke the window and fled for his life, leaving her to her fate as the vehicle caught fire and burnt parts of her body including her buttocks.

Let me bore you a bit with my long post. Sit down and read what no man did except God. I'm a serving Corper in Rivers State. After my vouching on 3rd about 3:30pm, I was supposed to go back to Oproama, the Island where I serve but there was heavy downpour and all of that, the boat captain refused to cruise. I had so many things to do that same day, needed to Aba to get a report and since this captain guy was wasting time, I decided to board to Aba.

Getting to Eleme, the crowd waiting to board to Aba was so much. Now, because I was on my complete Corper's uniform, a private car decided to give me a lift up until oyigbo. It was so easy getting a bus  to Aba. The crowd wasn't much this time but the persons available rushed to the bus and someone got me a seat in the front row because I couldn't rush to get into the bus. Maybe he did that for me, because he saw me on my uniform. I was sitting exactly after the drivers seat.

Our trip started and it was just few minutes to 7pm. I was so happy that I got a bus finally without so much hassle. Just before we approached NEPA before flyover in Abia state. Our driver seems not to see the sienna coming towards him and in the quest to dodge the sienna car, he didn't see the gallop before him and boom....... Our driver hit the Mack heavy duty vehicle packed somewhere. A-ha!. It went right inside the Mack and our bus was stuck inside and I was just beside, in front of the vehicle. I couldn't move my legs as I was struggling with my legs. Fire started right under my buttocks and Goooooooooooooooooodddddddd, I was screaming  � and shouting and shouting.

The fire  was still burning up on me.. I was shouting, I couldn't move my legs. I saw myself dying in a stuck bus. I heard people breaking the windows from behind, people breaking the doors of the vehicle. A-ha, God, the pains,the fire, I saw death right before my eyes. But in a twinkle of an eye, as the driver broke through the window and escape through the window and my legs still stuck, I didn't know how, but somehow, I can't explain up till this moment, my eyes moved and I escaped through the window and the fire was still burning me up, I was running and people around shouted that I was fall into the water there. The water with all these blue green algae, Dear God!

The fire stopped. And the real pain started. I removed my khaki trouser on the road because it was so hot. I realised I couldn't move. My buttocks down to my legs has been burnt. I tried to walk a bit, I couldn't. Ahaa. My tears has been dried and I don't have anymore tears to shed.

I asked people around to help me to look for my ID card, ATM, money, Phones inside the black purse I had they told me the bus has been razed down and everything has been burnt. I couldn't cry at least, I'm alive right?. A woman gave me her wrapper to tie as my clothes were burnt.

A good Samaritan moved me to a hospital with his car to the hospital to the center city. My friends came around and today I'm alive. I can talk, I can blink, I can laugh. I can say anything I want to say.

I didn't die. The fire didn't consume me. My Bible told me that "even though I walk through the shadow of death, I fear no evil ". Even though, I'm hospitalised with so much pains, my body swollen up, 16 -hour drip, about 14 injections  �, been lying face down for over 48hours and still counting, can't turn sideways, can't stand, . Yet, I didn't die. I can't die. No. I can't die sorrowfully. I have a covenant with God that no harm shall come near me.

This God is too Good. If you see anyone, tell him or her that only Jesus can do this. And He did it for Success Ochulor.

Efforts are being made to locate a missing teenage girl who fled her uncle's home in Gboko area of Benue state.

It was gathered that the 16-year-old girl identified as Ngundelen Awuapila, who speaks Tiv and English fluently - got missing last month (on the 08/09/2018) in Gboko area and is yet to be found till now. 

National Helm contacted the girl's custodian, her uncle identified as Mr. Victor Awuapila, who is heartbroken over her disappearance as he revealed that the girl didn't have any issue with his family because he treats her well, being the daughter of his twin brother. 

He also revealed that the girl took N40,000 from the room before she fled the house. 

The case has been reported at the police station but the uncle disclosed that since then, the officers have not called him despite promising to do so. 

Anyone who has any information about her whereabouts should contact the appropriate authorities.

A House of Assembly aspirant, Alh. Abdulsalami S. Aliyu, was denied entrance into the venue of the primary election held earlier today in Okehi local government secretariat, Kogi State.

Alhaji Abdulsalami S. Aliyu popularly known as De Nation was successfully screened last week at the Haleems hotel in Lokoja, Kogi State, to contest for the position of House of Assembly Okehi Constituency, Kogi State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His aide shared pictures of him locked out of the secretariat earlier today as he tried to gain access into the venue all to no avail.

Reports of a pastor who allegedly sent nude videos to married women, have been trending on social media, with many online users criticising the cleric for such an abominable act. 

The pastor been identified as Elder Charles Kalombo, who is reportedly heading a branch of Bread of Life in Ndola, Zambia, has been accused sending nude pictures and videos to married women in the church.

In the latest trending video footage, the pastor can be heard enticing a married woman only identified as Bana Mary.

According to Zambia Watch, the pastor also said he can go for "six hours with Bana Mary " because she is too cute to be married to a looser.

It was gathered that church member had previously written a letter to the church's senior cleric, Pastor Imakando, urging him to tame his pastors who are enticing people's wives.

It is believed that the video has been leaked to the media online by an angry husband who found the video of the said pastor in the wife's phone.

Yesterday two armed robbers got more than they bargained for as they were seriously dealt with by villagers after being caught stealing from a shrine in Anambra state.

It was gathered that the notorious thieves who have been terrorising residents of Igboukwu town, were caught at Etitnabo Ezihu village in Igboukwu area of the state, while trying to steal moulded craft representations of gods at a shrine.

The armed robbers in an attempt to escape after being spotted, shot sporadically at people but no one was hurt or caught by the stray bullets.

They were both apprehended and stripped naked as the villagers disgraced them before handing them over to the police for prosecution.

Students of the department of Science Laboratory and Technology [SLT] of the school of Evening Studies, Auchi polytechnic in Edo state, reportedly fought a lecturer for allegedly injuring a female student of the department.

According to reports, the incident happened on Saturday, 29th September, 2018. 

The Ecology lecturer was said to have accompanied his fellow colleague to assist in a practical course before the incident.

During an interview with a student of the department, One Miss Blessing , she said the lecturer came furiously to the class. 

" He gave an order for the students that were unseated to wait outside while the practical would be on. At this time he backed the door to hit my course mate, Mrs. Dele Miracle, a pregnant woman. Although, we begged, after a little expression of anger", Miss Blessing said. 

It was gathered that after some time, the lecturer went and parked his car somewhere outside the department, and came back to revenge the action of the students for backing the door against Mrs Dele. 

Entering angrily into the class, the lecturer was alleged to have forcefully backed the door against another female student. At this time, he inflicted injuries on her face, leaving her bleeding. This called for the reaction of the students. 

According to reports, the Ecology Lecturer later fled, after collecting some blows from the angry students.

An overzealous policeman was almost beaten by angry residents in Delta state over alleged harassment. It was gathered that the policeman attached to a bank in Sapele area of the state, harassed motorcyclists who brought their passengers close to the bank premises, some days ago. 

Even the passengers were not left out as it was alleged that the policeman used a big wood to hit one of the passengers identified as Mr. Jeff after being dropped by a motorcyclist near the bank. 

The overzealous officer reportedly continued harassing innocent citizens until he allegedly hit an old woman with the wood which made her fall to the ground and found it difficult in standing up.

This angered people around who gathered the police officer and harassed him as he was nearly beaten in the process.

The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives) and senatorial aspirant for Kano South senatorial district, Alhaji Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila yesterday raised the alarm over threat to his life by agents of his political opponent, Senator Kabiru Gaya.

During an emergency press briefing held at NUJ Kano Press Centre yesterday, Kawu alleged that a former Chairman of Sumaila Local Government Area (LGA) and campaign Director of Senator Kabiru Gaya, Alhaji Abdulhamid Idris Rimi, led a group of unknown persons who stormed Sumaila ward and attempted to attack him, while he was addressing over 3000 All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters who had gathered for the direct governorship primaries of the party in the state.

He said eight armed unknown men approached him at the All Progressive Congress (APC)’s Sumaila ward office where the party primaries was taking place and tried to attack him with dangerous weapons.

He further stated that the police later arrested two of the suspects, including Senator Kabiru Gaya’s campaign Director who are currently at Sumaila police station.
