The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) yesterday, 28 October 2018, deployed a detachment of Special Forces personnel to Kaduna in support of Internal Security operations in the State.

The detachment will join other NAF personnel in Kaduna and other security agencies to ensure that the spate of senseless killings in some parts of the State is brought to a complete end and normalcy expeditiously restored.

The deployment is in addition to the earlier deployment of 2 helicopters and a DA-42 Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft on 22 October 2018, which have since been conducting aerial patrols over flash points in the State.

The authorities of the Cherubim and Seraphim’s Church in Ondo state has sealed off a branch of the church, Edidi Emi C & S Church at Alhaja lane, Ayedun in Akure Ondo State.

The action was taken following the report of an investigative panel set up by the authorities of the church over an allegation made by a church member against the branch’s founder and prophet, Prophet Sunday Michael popularly known as ‘Woli Adonai’.

The Church member, Oluwakemi Dauda, while narrating her experience in the church to Omo Edema, had alleged the prophet of attempted various rituals on her, hence prompting the authorities to take action and seal off the church.

A 21-year-old Nigerian migrant has been arrested by police in Italy for allegedly groping and sexually assaulting a woman. 

According to reports, the victim was allegedly beaten and sexually assaulted by the immigrant at Reggio Calabria, a city in Italy on Saturday, October 27th (yesterday). 

The victim was said to have alerted the police after the assault as officers arrived the scene.

She was able to identify the Nigerian who allegedly assaulted her as he was arrested right on the spot and taken to the station for further investigation.

Suspected bandits dressed in military uniform attacked communities in Abbare, Lau local government area of Taraba on Thursday, killing over 100 cows.

It was gathered that the gunmen stormed Abbare Community yesterday around 12pm with military vehicles and motorcycles with guns as they started shooting when the cattle came back from their grazing at Abbare River.

Over 100 cows were killed and no fewer than 76 cattle's injured.

According to NAN, David Misal, police public relations officer (PPRO) in the state, made this known in Jalingo, the state capital on Friday.

He said the command had deployed more policemen in the area, adding that the divisional police officer (DPO) in charge of the area had also been directed to investigate the matter.

He said more information would be released to the public as soon as “clearer pictures” on the situation were received.

Speaking to Journalist, Muhammad Umar, a community leader of Abbare village, said the gunmen invaded the area around 1pm.

“In the process, the gunmen killed at least 100 cows and maimed several others,’” Umar said.

A state lawmaker was mobbed and attacked by aggrieved thugs in Borno state.

The Honourable Member representing Jere at the State Assembly, Hon. Ajikolo Khadi was harassed by the thugs who removed his cap and threw sand at him before he was rescued by security operatives who witnessed the assault which happened on Thursday, 25th October.

The attack is coming weeks after the lawmaker presented sporting and educational materials to psycho social support centers across Jere constituency.

A civil servant, Abdurahaman Ahmed Bundi, who shared a video of the attack online, wrote; 

"I condemned in strong term the attack on the Honourable Member representing Jere at the State Assembly Hon. Ajikolo Khadi on Thursday 25th October 2018 by some thugs".

"This is an attack to the entire legislative arm of Borno State not Ajikolo Khadi alone. I call the security agencies to immediately arrest and prosecute the perpetrators of this heinous act to serve as a deterrent to others".

A Nigerian man has been arrested alongside two other migrants in connection with the murder of Desirée Mariottini, a 16-year-old girl found dead in Rome last week.

According to reports, two Senegalese nationals aged 26 and 43 were reportedly held overnight.  A third suspect, a 40-year-old Nigerian, was detained yesterday.

The three are expected to be charged with group sexual violence, voluntary manslaughter and drug dealing. All three are reported to have previous convictions for drug dealing.

Police in Rome are still hunting at least one other suspect, local media reports.

The 16-year-old girl was found dead in a derelict building used as a squat in San Lorenzo.

Investigators believe Desiree was drugged and then gang raped while unconscious before she died. 

Though the exact circumstances and cause of the teenager’s death are yet to be confirmed, an autopsy revealed that she had been under the influence of drugs and had been sexually assaulted.

An anonymous call was made to emergency services at 3am on the 19th of October, local media reported.

Flowers and candles have been laid outside the building in a tribute to Mariottini, and local residents have painted the walls with red hearts and the words ‘Justice for Desirée. San Lorenzo does not forget you’..

Fresh report by the Nigerian Army has it that a shallow grave where a missing major general, Muhammed Alkali, was buried after he was killed, has been discovered. 

The army said the body was later exhumed and reburied somewhere else by the killers, according to the information provided to it by some of the arrested suspects.

According to the army, the shallow grave was confirmed by four independent sources in the community and also by sniffer dogs.

It was gathered that the shallow grave reports that there is a distance of one kilometre between the main road and the location of the grave.

Mr Alkali was the immediate past chief of administration of the Nigerian Army. He was declared missing on September 3 when he was traveling from Abuja to Bauchi State. He is believed to have been killed by his abductors.

On Friday, a major general, B. A. Akinruluyo, the General Officer Commanding, 3 Division, Rukuba Barracks, narrated how the shallow grave was discovered.

A hearty congratulations are in order for the Delta State Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Cyril Ogodo, and his wife, Mrs Vivian Omotejohwo Ogodo, who welcomed a set of triplets of 16 years of childlessness. 

The couple welcomed the babies ( three lovely boys) recently after patiently waiting many years for this moment. 

According to reports, the APC chairman is set to throw a big party to celebrate the multiple blessings.

Security operatives who were deployed across Kaduna state following the crisis have arrested a church security guard for being in possession of military outfits.

It was gathered that officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) apprehended the security guard identified as Mr. James for wearing a military uniform.

When a search was conducted at his home, additional six sets of military uniform were also found.

He was immediately taken into custody as investigation into the matter has been launched. 

Meanwhile, the Kaduna State Government has eased off the 24-hour curfew on Kaduna metropolis, giving residents between 1pm to 5pm  “to restock on essentials”.

A madwoman was found dead in Ikare-Akoko in Akoko North-East local government area of Ondo state, with her body parts removed.

The woman was discovered on Monday morning just at the same spot another madwoman was reportedly killed and body parts removed also two months ago.  

The assailants suspected to be ritualists reportedly removed her two eyes and severed her two breasts, leaving her lifeless in the pool of her own blood.

The incident reportedly happened around Cemetery area, opposite Eco Bank Jubilee road, Ikare-Akoko.

Meanwhile, residents in the area who were gripped with fear following two similar horrible incidents within two months have cried out that there is need for relevant authorities to investigate and bring the persons behind this dastardly act to book.

A video currently trending online features two monkeys who were filmed having a swell time in an unidentified man's compound. 

The monkeys who gained access to the compound after scaling the fence - were seen taking a dip and enjoying themselves in two water tanks that were left open. 

The monkeys made the most of their time by swimming in the water tanks as a Facebook user filmed them chilling from the next building. 

The video which was posted online has gone viral as people have been advised to always ensure that their tanks are closed/sealed to prevent something like this.

Former Niger Delta militants have staged a demonstration against the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in Bayelsa. 

According to reports, the ex-agitators are protesting against the commission to demand relief materials for communities that have been ravaged by flood in the region.

The protests leaders are identified as one Gen. Cairo and Gen. Ebi John....

Vehicular movement has been halted and the entrance leading to NDDC main secretariat shut down.

Here are images of the stew and other edible items intercepted by officials of the Nigeria Customs Service on Friday in Lagos. The items worth N27,960,000 were being imported from China  before they were intercepted.

The Customs said the container, which was cleared in one of the ports in Lagos, was intercepted by the Comptroller-General of Customs Strike Force team based on intelligence provided by the intelligence unit of the NCS.

It added that some other items that had semblance of mushrooms were already deteriorating in the container and could pose serious danger to human health when consumed.

The NCS had in the past intercepted a 20ft container of Egusi, Jollof Rice, Ogbono and yam porridge imported from India at the Tin-Can Island Port in Lagos.

It was jubilation galore at Ile-Ife, Osun State on Thursday, as Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, received his new wife at the palace, a day after he marked his 44th birthday.

The marriage rights were done privately in Akure, Ondo State and she was later received at the Ooni’s palace.

The new queen prophetess Shilekunola Moronke Naomi has officially begun her duty as Yeyeluwa of the Source after holding some engagements in the palace - with residents recognising her new status and paying homage to her in Ile-Ife, Osun state. 

The new wife is a Prophetess/Evangelist and also the Founder/President of EN-HERALDS, a prophetic mandate and an interdenominational ministry in Akure, Ondo state, Nigeria.

At least three causalities were recorded following a boat mishap along Kalio ama river in Rivers state. According to reports, a splash passport boat, sank a canoe boat carrying a man, woman and a 13-year-old boy coming back from fishing on Wednesday, October 17th.

It was gathered that the Splash boat was on top speed before the tragedy along the river 

Report has it that this kind of river accident has occurred before, with victims killed in the process.

The residents who have urged speed boat users to apply caution and safety rules when riding along the river for the sake of smaller boats, are calling on the state government to look into the matter and speak with companies around the river.
