A Catholic priest, Rev Fr. Jude Egbuom, was murdered by gunmen in Nkwerre in the Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State on Monday night. The attackers were reported to have made away with his vehicle.

The gunmen equally murdered a young man whose identity could not be ascertained immediately. The man was said to be with the priest in his vehicle when the criminals struck.

He was attacked around 8pm when he went to a barber’s shop on Anara-Nkwerre Road in Nkwerre town.

He reportedly resisted giving the car keys to his killers, which angered them.

The cleric was immediately shot together with the other victim in his vehicle ,while the criminals fled.

The priest until his death in charge of St Patrick’s Catholic Parish, Amucha, in the Njaba LGA of the state.

A 19-year-old Nigerian boy, Miracle Osondu has been sentenced to jail along with two others for carrying out 19 knife and acid attack robberies in north and east London. They were jailed today, Tuesday, 11 September at Wood Green Crown Court for a total of more than 30 years. 

According to the Metropolitan police, the horrific attacks targeted taxi drivers and people selling items via Gumtree. The group used strong acids, alkalis, and knives, to rob and maim their victims, some of whom will never recover from their injuries.

Antoine Mensah, 21, was sentenced to 13 years, extended to 17 years, in prison after pleading guilty to a conspiracy to rob comprising 19 counts of robbery as well as a planned robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a bladed article. Mensah also pleaded guilty to six counts of assault in an unrelated case. Mensah will serve a minimum of 8 years and 8 months in prison.

Miracle Osondu, 19, was sentenced to 11 years, extended to 15, in prison after pleading guilty to a conspiracy to rob comprising 19 counts of robbery as well as a planned robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a bladed article. A separate charge of theft from 2017 will remain on file. Osondu will serve a minimum of seven years and four months in prison.

Reporting restrictions were lifted on the teenager involved at the instruction of the judge. He is Mohammed Ali, and was sentenced to eight years, extended to 12 years, in prison after pleading guilty to a conspiracy to rob comprising 19 counts of robbery as well as a planned robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a bladed article. Ali will serve a minimum of five years and four months in prison.

The court heard that between 26 April and 14 May 2018, the trio embarked on a series of robberies that involved robbing mini-cab drivers at knifepoint and using strong chemicals to rob people they had arranged to buy and sell mobile phones from the Gumtree website.

The first offence they committed occurred on 26 April, where the three took a taxi to a street in Enfield where they robbed their taxi driver, threatening to stab him.

This quickly escalated to physically restraining taxi drivers and on two occasions producing a knife with which they threatened the drivers. Following this, they moved on to targeting unsuspecting victims from Gumtree.

They were taken into custody where they gave no comment interviews. All three were charged on 17 May.

The period when foreigners travel down to Nigeria to hold their traditional weddings in the bride's village, seems to be over as most Nigerian families don't mind to wed traditionally in foreign land. It was really a colorful moment as an Igbo lady tied the knot with her foreign partner in Rome, Italy on Sunday, September 9th. 

The Nigerian lady who wore a traditional attire along with the groom, observed all the matrimonial rites according to the traditions of Igbo land before the union was sealed. 

The groom's lovely family and friends gathered in their numbers to support him and the bride's family and friends were also present .

Meanwhile, a UK based traditionalist has condemned some Nigerians who give conditions for their traditional weddings and exclude items which are used to represent their culture.

Uba Acho, a hardcore traditionalist who is based in Leicester City, took to his social media page, to speak against those ‘Westernising’ their traditional weddings as he said a pastor would never conduct a church wedding where vital items are not displayed.

The traditionalist also blasted a couple who used orange juice for their traditional wedding instead of Palm wine.

A man who allegedly tried to blackmail a married woman whom he had an affair with, revealed how the woman fell for him after preaching to her on Facebook. The man allegedly tried to blackmail the woman by threatening to send her nude pictures to her husband.

The said woman implored the services of a human rights activist, Emeka Ugwuonye to prevent the suspected blackmailer from carrying out his threat. 

According to the lawyer, the man revealed in a chat - that the woman developed feelings for him despite her marital status and he was not in support of it. 

The man also urged the lawyer to caution his client and tell her to be faithful to her husband.

A group of Nigerians in diaspora, having traced their roots to Igboland via DNA, decided to come back home in Anambra state over their inheritance. 

According to the traditional ruler, ten African Americans/Canadian of Igbo ancestry, were inducted as brothers and sisters and also issued with Igbo names and allocated plots of land for residence during the last Eri Festival in Aguleri, Anambra East Local Government Area.

A young man was assassinated by unidentified gunmen yesterday in Delta state. The deceased identified as Onome Emekeme a.k.a 'Onome Pounds', was said to be driving two ladies and some of his friends in a Lexus car before the assassins struck and shot him in the chest along the busy road. 

It was gathered that the attackers didn't take anything from the vehicle as they fled immediately after shooting their target dead. 

The deceased was rushed to a hospital nearby before he passed away and his corpse later deposited in a mortuary. 

According to one of his friends who took to Facebook to mourn the loss, Onome was allegedly killed because of gold worth N1 million , a report which has not been confirmed. 

Sasha Florence wrote; "Onome Pounds rip still can't believe you're gone.just cuz of gold.life is indeed short.we spoke not up to about 24hours ago, pls come back Jesus I still can't believe this.just like that? Ha!!!death sha. I know people die everyday but I never knew someone like you could die so early.ha.I'm still lost and short of words".

"How am I supposed to keep the promise I promised you now?ha pls I can't type rip cause you're not dead to me,you're just receiving treatments. God if he can just come back.he was killed cause of gold worth just 1m.chai friends !!!"

The issue of domestic violence can not be over-emphasised. A woman has accused her husband of allegedly running her over with his car following an argument after previously subjecting her to several beatings.  Sakhe Feketshane who lives in South Africa, took to her Facebook to share the heartbreaking story.

I've been with my husband for more than 10 years. He used to be so caring and over protective. Little did i know it was more of jealousy than anything. He would go to my workplace and demand that i introduce him to my colleagues. I had to tell him everything i did, where im going and why i did things. I always thought this is love and maybe one day he will change and realise that i love only him. He would demand things to be done, the way he wants and when he wants. It was all emotional abuse before it got physical.

I took him to many counselling sessions but he would always undermine the counsellors and say they know nothing about marriage. A year ago we were in the car with two of my friends.

He started an argument, because he didn't like me having friends. We got outside of the car to talk. He burst out with anger and started beating me. With fist and i fell so he started kicking me. Three men came to my rescue and beat him too. He then went to police station to say i did that to him. Police were confused and told us to sort it out. I forgave him as he promised it would never happen again. Proclaimed his love for me and i believed him.

Months went by and he still was his old forceful self. Still i hoped he would change. Now this time Yes he did not lay a finger on me however he ran me over with his car. We had an argument and he went straight to his car, as i tries to speak to him, to try and resolve issue. He reversed his car. I fell and hit my head on the pavement.

He drove away and people stopped him to ask why is he driving away after knocking someone over. All he said was where? its not my fault she tried to jump into the car. Jump into a car..?? I tried to talk to him . Now yes he did not beat me he just tried to kill me.

Abuse is a serious issue and the percentage of women being killed through it is high. I choose to speak out and leave before its too late. Because he never sees anything wrong with his actions or admits he was wrong. So one day he will kill me and see nothing wrong or even worse deny it like hes doing now..

The family of Major General Nur Alkali, immediate past Chief of Administration of the Nigerian Army, has raised an alarm after going missing.

According to reports, General Alkali, who retired from service about two weeks ago, had left his house in Abuja on Monday 3/09/2018 for Bauchi where he has a farm but has been incommunicado since with his phone lines not going through.

It is suspected that Major General Alkali who was travelling in his car may have been kidnapped by unknown hoodlums.

It is reported that General Alkali who is known for his simplicity - does not normally involve Army personnel or materials in relation to his personal businesses and it is believed that he might have travelled alone.

A lady has taken to Facebook to raise an alarm after a man was nabbed while engaging in alleged diabolical acts in a bus in Lagos. According to Saviour Joseph, she boarded a bus to Oshodi, Lagos while on her way to Ogun state, only to be approached by the said man who asked her to give him the book she was about reading in the bus. 

After some time, she noticed that the man used a white cloth to clean the book she gave him and when she asked why he did that, the man only smiled and said she wouldn't understand.

The lady revealed that she persisted and urged the man to tell her why he did that or else she would raise an alarm in the bus and notify other passengers after telling him she's a daughter of Zion. 

The lady later told other passengers what happened as they confirmed that the man had done similar thing to them.

The man was held and his bag opened - only for the passengers to discover a powder, anointing oil and some other items which he reportedly said was given to him by his baba.

The man was beaten by some of the passengers who were angered by his act as he left them confused over his motive. No further details were given as to what later happened to him.

A community in South Africa have just concluded a session of engaging young boys on the re-emerging gang war that was dealt with before. The meeting saw some police officers present as residents agreed that all boys of the area to stay away from any gang activities and notify the police with information that will help dismantle gangsterism in the area. 

The meeting is coming following the deaths of some residents who were killed in the gang war including about eight Nigerians since the beginning of this year. 

Late last month, three Nigerians were killed in the space of four days.

Nigerians have been reported to be killing fellow countrymen in South Africa over business and gang/cult related issues.. Over eight Nigerians and counting, are believed to have been killed in the underground war.

This is really funny. While some elderly people are prevented from drinking alcohol over health reasons, a group of aged woman was spotted in an elated mood as they downed a bottle of beer.

In a trending video posted online, the two old women were seen drinking a bottle of beer which was shared at a burial event.

The old women danced joyfully as if their prayers have been answered as they danced joyfully while drinking and chilling together.

Friends of former ambassador, Mrs. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, have picked a nomination form for her today at the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) secretariat, Abuja, to run for the senatorial position for Anambra South. 

The entourage which was made up of Hon Martins Ndujekwu, Comrade Peter Nwosu, Engr Chidi Anuligo, Chief Chukwuebuka Ileka, and other friends out of their own volition, put together the money and picked the form much to the surprise of the wife to the late Biafran warlord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

This is coming after some members of the family vowed not to support her.

Speaking with reporters in an interview yesterday, Dr. Ike Ojukwu, directors of Ojukwu Transport Company Limited, said it would be a letdown to allow a woman from Ngwo in Enugu State to represent Anambra South Senatorial District.

According to him, “the district has several prominent people.”

Ojukwu asked: “Is she from Nnewi? She is from Ngwo in Enugu State. If you ask me, I would prefer someone who is a son of the soil, and because I come from Nnewi, I would like an Nnewi indigene to represent us.”

Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (Jnr) said: “She is apparently coming out under APGA and that is APGA’s business. They can decide on whomever they want to bring out really, that should not be my business as far as I am concerned but I do find it curious that you want somebody from Enugu State to come and represent us at Anambra South.

Ojukwu added: “A young woman who was supposedly married to my father who is late; a young woman who could remarry tomorrow maybe from Abia State or later from Sokoto State. And you want her to come and represent us. I wonder if there are no other people in Anambra South that can represent us?

A video footage is currently trending online for obvious reason after some African men were beaten mercilessly by their Chinese bosses in Gabon. According to the post, the Chinese men attacked a young man and other African workers with sticks after a disagreement at their work site in the forest.

One of the workers was left seriously injured after he was beaten and hit on the head with sticks.

Many online users have revealed their displeasure with the act as they blamed African leaders for allowing the foreigners to have authority and power over an average citizen.

A young man has taken to Facebook to mourn the death of his little child identified as Emmanuella Chinecherem who passed away few days ago after an undisclosed sickness. John-mary Uzochukwu from Nnewi, Anambra state, had previously solicited for prayers for his daughter on September 3rd, only to reveal yesterday that she had died.

The heartbroken father who is mourning his loss shared a picture of him crying alongside a picture of his daughter's corpse as he revealed his pain.
