The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rejects in its entirety whatever outcome is being concocted by the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies, in the governorship election in Ekiti state.

The process, characterized by open alteration of results, brutalization of innocent citizens, barefaced cruelty and intimidation of our members by security agencies, is a brazen assault against democracy and a direct subversion of the will of the people which is completely unacceptable.

The PDP is armed with the details of all manipulations by the APC, who is being aided by security agencies and compromised INEC officials to rig the election, particularly, the audacious alteration and substitution of election results in favour of the APC at the collation centers amidst the brutalization of our agents.

The PDP also has details of all the polling units where we won, mostly with very wide margin ahead of the APC, only for the security agencies to aid the swapping and alteration of such results with those smuggled in by the APC at the collation centers.

It is instructive to state that all the issues we raised ahead of the election, including the conspiracy between the APC, some compromised INEC officials and security agencies; the importation of thugs from other states by the APC; the use of brutal force against our members and the alteration of results in favour of the APC, have all manifested.

The PDP holds strongly that there is no way our democracy can survive with an electoral process such as this, being witnessed today in Ekiti state under President Muhammadu Buhari and the current INEC.

This bald-faced subversion of the will of the people is a clear recipe for a serious crisis and we invite Nigerians and the international community to hold President Buhari and his APC as well as the INEC Chairman and heads of security agencies in Nigeria responsible for any breakdown of law and order in Ekiti state as a result of this election.

This on-going robbery of the franchise of Ekiti people is a horrible rape of our democracy and most uncharitable of President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC who hugely benefitted from the credible election midwifed by the PDP in 2015.

Four police officers including one sergeant Christian (pictured below) were attacked and killed by unknown assailants yesterday in Sabongidda-Ora, Edo state. According to an eyewitness, Oliha Collins, the attackers laid ambush in a bush as they waited for the policemen to resume duty at their check point.

While the driver of the police vehicle was trying to park in a get way position, the hoodlums came out of their hiding place and opened fire on the policemen.

To be sure the officers were really dead, the attackers set them and their vehicle on fire before fleeing the scene.

May their souls rest in peace.

The Ekiti governorship election has since begun with voters exercise their civic rights at different polling units across the state. A Police officer expected to watch over ballot box was spotted sleeping on duty while voting exercise is still on at Ward 11, Unit 003, Ogotun, Ekiti Southwest local government area of the state.

Meanwhile, there has been a large turnout of voters at Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital, as they trooped out in great numbers to the polling units.

In many parts of Ado-Ekiti, hundreds of voters were seen at the polling units as early as 7:00 am.

Voters including the elderly, pregnant women, nursing mothers, youths among others were at the poll forming a long queue and ready to elect their next leader.

A deputy commissioner of police, Abba Kyari, has responded to one Anthony who said the Nigerian Police collect money from armed robbers and release them. In a post made via his social media account, the crime buster replied that they don't need to expose the robbers to the public in order to quietly negotiate there release, that's if the police are guilty of the accusation.

One of the kidnappers who allegedly abducted two two entertainers, Ugo Stevenson and Izunna Obiakor, in Owerri, Imo State and demanded millions of naira, has been arrested by the police..

It was revealed that the kidnappers who abducted Mr Izunna Obiakor (Event Promoter & Stage Manager) popularly known with company name Twinstar , Ugo Stevenson (Highlife Music legend known as Ndaa Chineke) and Bishop (Staff of Twinstar Lighthouse), were apprehended while trying to colleact another ransom.

According to IfeanyiCy Njoku, the abducted victims were released five days after paying a ransom of N1.3m (one million three hundred thousand naira) which was made available by the family of Twinstar Izunna Obiakor.

The abductors have been calling on Mr Obiakor to bring additional ransom of N300, 000 (three hundred thousand naira) so that they could release his car which was in their custody.

Mr Obiakor accepted and went with his twin brother to drop the ransom with a special cover from Special Squad from SARS, Imo Police Command, Unlike the previous ransom the wife of Mr Obiakor dropped for the release of her husband.

The kidnappers sent two of their men on motorcycle to pick up the ransom, moving and directing Mr Obiakor from one location to another and threatening him not to play smart. Immediately they called and drove pass Mr Obiakor to collect the ransom, men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Imo State Police Command appeared from their hideout and used their car to run after them.

They successfully used the car to hit the motorcycle, and apprehend one of the Kidnappers, while the other who ran into the bush sustained bullet injury.

One of the Kidnappers arrested with the phone they were using to call Twinstar Izunna Obiakor was identified as Sunday Okorie, and his cohort, Chima Osuoha was at large. Both lives at Amakohia Ubi, in Owerri West LGA.

He has made useful information to the police that will help arrest others.

A man has allegedly been killed by operatives of Cross River State Homeland Security Service. It was gathered that the deceased identified as Efiom Etim Efiom popularly called Etete, was shot dead at his residence in Calabar, the state capital. The incident occurred yesterday Friday, July 13, 2018.

According to Holyns Hogan, a reliable source and brother to the deceased informed that prior to that moment of the incident he invited his lawyer and the police to obtain statement from his late brother, over an issue that happened between him and one unregistered Keke rider at the Esien Town Keke Tricycle Park, located at Essien Town by Murtalah Mohammed Highway, Calabar.

Another reliable source and eye witness accounted that the deceased and "his boys beat and injured" the affected Keke rider the day before "for refusing to officially register with the Keke Union at the park" . That led to the involvement of the Homeland Security Service men, whose attached Soldier eventually shot and killed Etete in public.

Investigations are said to be underway over Etete's death.

Fresh facts have emerged on how a food stuff trader, Mercy Duru Ezinne, who impersonated as a medical doctor with the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Abeokuta, Ogun State, perfected her plans to fleece a patient with heart challenges of millions of naira.

It was earlier reported that 35-year old Mercy, whose highest educational qualification was as certificate in auxiliary nursing, had allegedly collected the sum #400,000 from the patient, one Hassan Olawale, for treatment and further promised to take him to her German doctor in Accra, Ghana, for a heart transplant, on the payment of #10million.

A source from the FSARS, where the suspect is being detained disclosed to Crimepuzzle that the suspect deposed to had been able to secure a man willing to donate his heart to Hassan, after being involved in a train accident, but would only do so at a cost of #4million naira. After which she will arrange to have him moved to Ghana to be operated upon by her German doctor friend with a machine that she would import from America.

While this was going on, the source stated that one Dr. Raji of FMC, who had previously been involved one way and another in Hassan's case, became suspicious of the "woman doctor" and alerted operatives of FSARS, who trailed and successfully apprehended her.

Crimepuzzle had a chat with Dr. Raji and here was his submission:

"About three weeks ago, I received a phone call from a patient being managed for congestive cardiac failure and was on requisite medications.

"The patient subsequently asked me to speak with his friend, a certain "Dr Mercy" ( Mercy Duru), who asked about the details of the patients health, particularly with respect to getting or need for a heart transplant; this was countered as the patients condition was not deemed to have deteriorated to the extent to need such measures.

"The said Dr Mercy adamantly insisted on the need for a transplant and also to get a life support machine as well. At this juncture, I proceeded to explain to "Dr Mercy" that heart transplants were different from other paired organ transplants, I also told here that centre's for heart transplants were not available in Nigeria. "I took the pains to also explain the getting heart transplant done outside the country requires him being on a list which will be determined by his clinical status and other parameters as well. I concluded by telling her that with strict medication adherence and life style modification, he can live a meaningful life. "Dr Mercy" then asked if heart transplants can be as expensive as 10million naira, which I replied in the affirmative, and may even be more than that if the patient eventually requires it."I never heard from the patient again until after about 2weeks.

He called telling me he was in respiratory distress and was having cough, which prevented him from sleeping. He told me he was in a popular hotel (he had secured a temporary abode and wanted to see me). On getting to the place, he was in respiratory distress and narrated how "Dr Mercy" had been treating him in the previous two weeks. She asked him to do some investigations at her choiced laboratory, claiming all the previous ones he did, even at the government hospital, were irrelevant.

"After presenting the results, she asked him to pay for certain medications notably Rocephine(a 3rd generation cephalosporin), zoladex(an anti sex hormone used for treating patients with prostate cancer and breast cancer). He narrated how she had given him intravenous ceftriaxone intramuscular, leaving him with severe pains in the lower limbs for days. "Dr Mercy" also gave him lots of intravenous fluids, a relative contraindications in his state worsening his clinical conditions and had him transfer the sum of #400,000, to procure some drugs", Dr. Raji revealed.

According to Dr. Raji, Mercy later called the victim, telling him that she had been able to secure a man willing to donate his heart, after being involved in a train accident, but would only do so at a cost of #4million naira, after which she would arrange to have him moved to Ghana to be operated upon by her German doctor friend with a machine that she would be importing from America.

"He was evacuated from the hotel and admitted in the hospital where proper medical attention was instituted, during which Mercy kept on calling the patient and threatening that she will cancel the heart transplant if he fails to remit the 4million naira she requested for.

"I later arranged with the patient to get the so called Dr mercy arrested so as to prevent others from falling victim of her scheme. I informed the FSARS, Ogun State, some of their men started trailing her. Attempt at getting her arrested proved abortive as she was never at home and we were informed that she had started parking her belongings from the apartment.

"The patient was then asked to place a call to Mercy, pleading with her to come to the hospital and rescue him, and that the treatment he was being given was not working for him. Dr mercy was very annoyed that he had to seek medical attention from another hospital. She reluctantly came to the hospital in the company of her driver and two other...

Nigeria's finance minister, Kemi Adeosun who is in the middle of an alleged certificate forgery scandal, was seen earlier today with president Muhammadu Buhari and AFREXIMBank Board of Directors in State House, Abuja.

Adeosun’s official credentials showed that she parades a purported fake National Youth Service Corps NYSC exemption certificate, which was issued in September 2009, granting her exemption from the mandatory service on account of age. According to reports, Adeosun failed to participate in the mandatory NYSC scheme after completing her university education in London.

The meeting today with the AFREXIMBank was attended by government officials including the minister accused of forgery.

This is coming after the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, on Wednesday said since the National Youth Service Corps, which is part of government, had spoken on the alleged certificate forgery involving the Minister, then the government had spoken on the matter.

Mohammed spoke with State House correspondents at the end of the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said he had nothing to add to the press statement issued by the NYSC on the matter.

“The government has spoken. NYSC is part of government and I have nothing to add to what the NYSC has said,” the minister said.

According to reports, a truck driver was arrested on Monday 9th July after closing from work over a "crime" he said he knew nothing about. The driver was arrested when he was urinating in a nearby bush close by the express close to B Division in Asaba, Delta state capital.

According to Prince Harrison who initiated the man's release, the driver was immediately kept inside the cell without being informed of his crime.

He was later granted bail after being charged for conspiracy and stealing.

At about 8:00am, we received an SOS call from one Chukwuka informing us of his brother's arrest by officers from B Division Asaba, Delta State Police Command.

The truck driver was arrested on Monday 9th July after closing from work. He was arrested when he was urinating in a nearby bush close by the express close to B Division. He was immediately kept inside the cell without informing him of his crime.

In company of Law student from Unizik, we arrived the station, met the I.P.O and also interviewed the suspect. The suspect told us he knows nothing about the crime.

Our plea for BAIL was turned down.

Immediately we left the station, they hurriedly prepared charges against him and charged him to court for Conspiracy & Stealing.

Luckily for us, he was granted bail which we perfected and secured his release...

A young woman and her little son are lucky to be alive after being victims of fire mishap at their house in Delta state. According to the lady identified as Teshoma Afonughe revealed that the fire tragedy occurred after she put a gallon with kerosene near her stove and wanted to light it on with matches.

The jerrycan with kerosene was said to have caught fire and exploded. The woman was badly burnt along with her new baby and her little son.

The baby was reported to have died from burn injuries as she and her son where rushed to the hospital where they are currently being treated.

The female lawmaker who caused the imprisonment of a 25-year-olad man who was obsessed with her and professed his "undying love" for her while stalking her, has been forced to speak out after much criticisms.

The Ugandan student identified as Brian Isiko, was convicted and sentenced to 2 years in prison on his own plea of guilty to counts of cyber harassment and offensive communication after professing his “love” for Kabalore Woman Member of Parliament, Ms Sylvia Rwabwoogo.

He confessed that the calls and text messages professing obsessed love to the MP he had never physically seen, were from him.

According to reports, the female politician who is single cried as she told court that she started receiving calls admitting love from a stranger.

She took to her social media page earlier today to share her side of the story. Read below;

A student of Niger Delta university in Bayelsa state, has died after reportedly committing suicide after he discovered that he had carry over in his courses.

According to Ijaw youth advocate Bodmas Kemepadei, sources revealed that the student identified as Aduba Daniel, after being rushed to the Tantua hospital in Amassoma (Bayelsa), it was realized that he drank the whole bottle of sniper insecticide.

The student was said to have passed away as the insecticide damaged important parts of his intestines.

Heartbroken sister to the deceased lamented his death online. She wrote;

Until we meet again. What a painful exit. Those special memories of you will always bring a smile if only I could have you back for just a little while Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do you always meant so very much and always will do too the fact that you're no longer here will always cause me pain but you're forever in my heart..

Some African migrants have taken to their hustling spirits with them abroad after not being able to secure meaningful jobs in Europe. A video currently trending online - shows some African men roasting corns on the streets of Paris, France capital city, in a bid to make ends meet.

According to Obiwest Utchaychukwu who posted the video, the men were spotted hustling at the busy area of Chateau Rouge Barbe and one corn is sold for 50 cent (around N200).

Some online users have reacted to the viral video with some saying this is better than carrying drugs or engaging in illegal business while others have argued that this is embarrassing due to the fact that they can also roast the corn in their respective countries, hence no need to travel abroad for greener pastures.

The Château Rouge area of Paris is regarded as an “African neighbourhood” with various activities going on there.
