A community was allegedly attacked and razed down by soldiers following the death of one of their colleagues. According to reports, armed militants ambushed soldiers at a checkpoint at Iwukem in the volatile Etim Ekpo council, killing one soldier and five civilians, while two persons sustained injuries. In retaliation, a battalion of soldiers from the military base in the state, yesterday, went on rampage, setting shops and houses ablaze in Iwukem. It was gathered that the militants stormed the community on Saturday night, and attacked the soldiers stationed in the community to maintain the peace. Police operatives in Ogun state have arrested two medical practitioners, a doctor and a nurse, after a 35-year-old woman died due to complications of abortion. The suspects, Dr. Olawale Raji and Nurse Olusegun Funmilayo, currently being detained at the Onipanu Police Division, have been ordered to be transfered to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department of Ogun State Police Command by Commissioner of Police, Iliyasu Ahmed. Their arrests was sequel to a complaint lodged by one Bose Kareem of House No. 6, Ire-akari Street, Atan-Otta, to the effect that her late sister, Aminat Iyanda Atinsola, had contracted the services of the two medical practitioners for termination of her two-month old pregnancy. Mrs. Kazeem, according to a press release made available to Crimepuzzle by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, stated that the two suspects, who co-operate a private hospital in the neighborhood, carried out the unlawful act right inside the house of the deceased. "Trouble started when the deceased started having complications, shortly after the abortion and was being rushed to the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Abeokuta, only to lose the battle for survival on the way", the statement added . Oyeyemi said, "On receiving the report, the DPO Onipanu Division, SP Sangobiyi Johnson, led his team of detectives to the scene where the two medical practitioners were promptly arrested, adding that the corpse of the 35yr old deceased had been deposited at the General Hospital morgue for post mortem examination. A Nigerian has been left stranded in Kenya after travelling to the east African country to visit his girlfriend. The man identified as Abdbdulhakim who revealed that he is married, visited his Kenyan girlfriend in Mombasa before he was allegedly drugged and his belongings stolen. Abdbdulhakim whose family is based in Dublin, Ireland, said he visited the country on Friday, July 13, and checked into Paroma Guest House in Bamburi where he stayed for nine days before the robbery incident. While narrating his ordeal to journalists, he claimed CCTV footage from the hotel revealed he was robbed by female guests who had also checked into the guest house after him. Below is what he said during the interview with journalists. "I am in Kenya on tour to see my girlfriend Rose Aridi, I came to Mombasa on July 13, 2018, and checked into a hotel called Paroma Guest house around Bamburi," narrated the distraught tourist. "After 9 days I was robed by another guest in that hotel, two ladies, to my surprise CCTV footage revealed that this lady actually robbed me and my friends". "The woman was banging until another female guest came to open, and this female guest had been at the guest house even before the others checked in. Before the lady opened my door the manager had also arrived." The Spiritan University Nneochi (SUN), has been thrown into sorrow following the tragic demise of one of their own. Rev.Fr. Cosmas Aguocha, was killed after being involved in a fatal accident on Friday, July 27th. The deceased who was driving the institution's vehicle, ran into a stationary truck just before brewery junction at Awo-Omamma, Imo state. He couldn't survive the fatal crash as he died few moments after that. His corpse has been deposited at the mortuary as plans have begun in earnest for his burial. Many Fulani protesters took to the streets of Paris, France capital, to agitate against the killings of their people in Nigeria and other parts of the world. The massive protest was held on Saturday, July 28th (yesterday) as the group registered their displeasure of how they are being treated by other tribes. They said they are being maltreated and that the attacks on their people should stop. There was a mild drama at a train station in Italy after an African migrant reluctantly refused to tender his documents when approached by security operatives. In a video footage posted online, the man who is said to come from Nigeria, can be heard shouting at two security agents at the station as he was filmed from afar. The man who continued raising his voice - was about to create a scene there before two policemen joined the other security men questioning him as he was shoved aside for proper interrogation. The Italian authorities have said that any migrant who doesn't want to abide by the rules of their country, should leave immediately. A lady identified as Joy Alueze Bassey, has accused one Chimaobi from Anambra state - of gruesomely killing her brother in Senegal and absconding after that. According to the graduate of University of Maiduguri, her brother, Nnamdi from Afikpo, Ebonyi state - was stabbed to death by the accused in the West African country as he reportedly absconded after allegedly committing the act. A young man has taken to Facebook to mourn his brother identified as Emmanuel Adama, who died during training at the Nigerian Army training depot in Zaria, Kaduna state, two years ago. It was gathered that the deceased from Kogi state who has since been laid to rest - passed away while training to be an army officer. The heartbroken brother shared the pictures this morning to remember the deceased who passed away at the age of 22 on 27th July, 2016 (exactly two years today). The Anambra police command received a distress call that one milk coloured Peugeot 504 Saloon Car with four occupants was washed away by heavy downpour and submerged in a flood along Nise road by city landmark hotel in Amawbia two days ago. Following the report, Police patrol team attached to Central Police Station Awka rushed to the scene on rescue operations and with the assistance of the community where three male occupants of the vehicle were rescued alive while a girl of about thirteen years was said to be taken away by the flood inside the car. Preliminary investigation so far revealed the identities of the three surviving victims as follows, 1.Elder Ejike Anadebe male (Driver) 2.Ogu Ebuka male and, 3.Emmanuel Samuel all males of Zion pillar church adabebe in Amawbia,Awka. Meanwhile, the vehicle was recovered and one Ebube Samuel female aged thirteen years of the same address was found inside the car and rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor. According to reports, six operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), led by Inspector Monday Asemota have been arrested for allegedly extorting N40,000 from twin brothers Mark and Martins on their to NYSC Camp. They were reportedly detained and charged for misconduct by IGP Xsquad in Delta state. Their vehicle was stopped and they were asked to submit their phone for searching. The officers threatened to detained them in police cell for refusing to give consent. They seized their phones, searched their bag and discovered N70,000. The officers took them to a petrol station, counted N30,000 and handed over to them. The boys pleaded but were ignored. They immediately informed BBI Intervention Squad (BBIS) and the officers were tracked in Ekpan Police station Warri. The N40,000 was refunded to BBI team. We reported the case to IGP Xsquad, Delta State Police command and they immediately sent their men to Ekpan Police station. The senate president, Bukola Saraki, is the number one trending topic on Twitter after sneaking into the national assembly by driving himself in a rickety private vehicle to outsmart the security operatives who had condoned his residence in Abuja. It was gathered that Saraki was not in the vehicle when a detachment of security operatives blocked his convoy at his Apo residence. The security operatives had aimed at preventing them from leaving the house. Saraki reportedly sensed a sinister move by the opposing camp, at the National and decided to outsmart them by quickly sneaking into the National Assembly with a vehicle he drove. A video is currently making the rounds online featuring a Fulani man preaching to others publicly. In the footage, the Fulani indigene who is probably a christian - can be heard preaching about Jesus Christ whom he says he strongly believes in and is the only way out. The man also said that all he is preaching about is written in his bible in Fulani language. A Facebook user based in Kaduna state, Daniel Okpe, who witnessed the preaching himself, wrote on Facebook; What is the fight all about. Christ is Lord over all. I saw this myself... This is very sad. A double tragedy has occurred in the family of Madamedon in Delta state following the deaths of a lady and her father. According to reports, the father passed away upon hearing that his daughter had died in an accident along the NPA expressway in Delta. It was revealed that the daughter, Miss Eyitemi Madamedon, ran into an abandoned truck along NPA expressway as a result of the indiscriminate parking of tankers along the road. The lady's father - was said to have yesterday night after hearing that his daughter is dead. May their souls rest in peace.
