Hi guys, please I need your help. I need to apply for visa soon and I'm having problems with the "strong home ties" aspect.
Now,it is compulsory that my proof of strong home ties has to do with properties? If yes,can a survey plan of the land be sufficient? I haven't done and it may take some time. I have two buses which I use for business, can I use this and how? What other way can I show "strong home "

ayooluwatoni: You're very correct! I thought about the repetition thing too. Was wondering why he applied for a pgd and not masters. But felt probably the school doesn't wanna take our pgd so he wanna have a pgd there and then proceed to masters. If he can convincingly argue this point in his SoP it should fly, I believe! My fear with not declaring his pgd is with the academic history gap.......what would he say he was doing during that time? Idle? Wasting time? Dont know sha Academic history gap? I've been working all these while . I will still see if I can get MSc with my PGD but Its been very difficult. |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by charles316: 1:05pm On Jul 29, 2015 |
ayooluwatoni: Bros let us reason this thing together, let's assume you're the VO and I'm you. You know how bad the situation in my Country is, and you know a lot of people from my country are running to your country and to other countries. Your work here in my country is to disallow people coming to your country for the wrong reasons, and then I tell you I want to undergo an advanced diploma program lasting for two years in your country, even when I already have HND and PGD. Honestly speaking, what will first come to your mind? I'm not saying you can't get visa with the diploma program, but you will need to convince the VO really hard as to why you want to go for that program again. My advise, go for that PGD, you should be able to apply for a master's program in that same school just before the end of your pgd, and then you can renew your study permit from within Canada. The most difficult aspect I think is getting the Initial study permit, renewal shouldn't be too difficult.
As for the sponsor, bros even if the person is from Kano and you are from Owerri, it doesn't matter, where the work is is in the sponsorship letter, it has to be very very realistic and convincing......it doesn't have to be true.....lol Thanks |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by charles316: 11:46am On Jul 29, 2015 |
ayooluwatoni: Now I get your point quite well. What did you study in your undergrad? What cgpa did you graduate with? Let me know. The issue is, the VO may question your purpose of visit and duration of stay if you're going for a program considered not relevant or feels is waste of time. But if it is very related to you undergrad, you statement of purpose will clear that and explain everything in details to him/her.
Your sponsor can be your uncle or aunt who does not necessarily need to have the same surname with you, but the sponsorship letter has to be very comprehensive! I have both HND and PGD (Futa) in civil engineering. My cgpa is 3.48 on a 5 point scale. What if the sponsor is my dad's friend? His state of origin is different from mine. |

TheBae: I will advise you to go with the PGD and proceed to do your Masters afterwards. The embassy will not ask you to pay fees, it's totally optional and it doesn't guarantee TRV, it only increases your chances cos it shows you're committee Thanks for your reply. Is it out of place for thr embassy to ask one to pay tuition fees, probably before they make their final decision? My grouse with the pgd is that it's just an eight months course while the advanced diploma is 2 years( if I'm to start from second yr). I would prefer the 3 years post graduate work permit that I will be entitled to when I'm done with the advanced diploma. I will take y'all (thesoj, thebae, ayooluwatoni, hayqinsbfx) advice and seek for visa with the pgd . When I get the visa, can I just abandon everything about the pgd and go on with my advanced diploma? Will I have any problem probably at POE? Finally, my sponsor's surname is different from mine, will that be a problem? |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by charles316: 6:28am On Jul 29, 2015 |
ayooluwatoni: The issue is, every of those VOs has been trained to believe that everybody seeking entry into their country (through whatever means) does not intend to return, irrespective of who you are. So your work is to convince them by whatever means you can that you will leave their country after your short stay there (even though I know so well that you won't return), if you're able to convince them, then you will be issued your TRV, but if not, no show! So it is not solely about the program, tuition or funds (which is the mistake most people make), but a very good combination of everything you think would make the VO believe you. You can just act the drama yourself, make yourself the VO and view the documents you intend to submit, if they are convincing enough! So I want to say that your choice of program (PGD/masters) does not really follow, but since you already have an admission for pgd, then you can go ahead and apply with the pgd. Like Thebae said, payment of tuition is completely optional, in fact CIC advises no one should make any financial commitment until visa is granted as it is not a condition for granting TRV (it may only show some level commitment), in fact their are a number of people who were refused visa despite paying tuition fees. These will boost your chances of getting TRV: 1. A very short gap between when you finished your undergrad and now that you wanna apply for study permit. If there's a wide gap, the VO may question your purpose of visit! 2. Relationship between your O'level + Undergrad and the course you want to study in canada. Although that of O'level is not a barrier, but I feel it will be an advantage. E.g. you want to have a master's degree in Economics, you had an A in your waec, and you studied economics in undergrad...... but like I said, it is not a barrier, I just think it should be a + 3. Your travel record is also important, it tells the VO you're not a first time traveler who might get to his country, get carried away or be excited and then abscond, especially if you've been to countries rated higher than Canada. This is not a barrier too, but it is a very good + 4. Your ties to your country: what will make you leave Canada after a short stay? Sometimes travel history helps to clear country ties issue. But I believe this home tie issue is just an excuse for a VO who normally doesn't wanna grant a visa to deny it. 5. Financial sufficiency/family situation:if you have enough finance to conveniently cover your cost of study and living expenses without working in Canada. This will help clear the doubt that you're going to Canada to study and not to work, hiding under the canopy of study. 6. Your ties to the country you're going sometimes may reduce or boost ones chances of getting VISA. I don't know so much about how Canada treat this though, but sometimes I think it's just good to declare you don't have anyone in that country, except if the person you have there is your sponsor, or your parents and they have a very good financial situation, else VO might thing they will facilitate your abscondment. But please note that I'm not certain about this last point!
7. A comprehensive letter of sponsorship is good too. Not just a letter where the sponsor agrees he would sponsor you, but something very real and convincing. Your sponsor should be able to write about you, why he wanna sponsor you, what he does, his dependent family members, how much he has budgeted for your trip, how much he's giving you, how he intend to send the money to you etc......
I'm not inferring that having all I stated above guarantee a TRV, but I think if they are well combined and the applications + supporting documents are properly arranged, the VO should be convinced! Just what I think sha.....the gurus in the house can add/remove Wow,thanks for this . |

hayqinsbFX: i dont know wat u mean by requiring agents....cos im also for seneca but i didntuse agent for admission. The clinical research is a graduate certificate which shows more obvious progression academically. if the fasttrack prog is what u really want to do....u cud apply for visa with the grad cert to increase ur cances in that aspect then change when ure in canada... Hi,I am also in the same situation. I have been given admission to go for civil engineering technology (advanced diploma) in seneca and construction project management (post graduate diploma) in Conestoga college. My questions are 1. Can I get to do masters afterwards with the advanced diploma because that is my preferred option. I prefer this because it is a two year course. 2. From your replies here,it seem that it will easier to get visa with the pgd. What if the embassy ask me to pay for school fees ? Cc thebae GboyegaD Ayooluwatoni Thesoj |

Teespice: Google did not give me a good answer. that's why I asked for yours.
to your definition of a real woman.
for starters, she has to recognise that the world we live in is a patriarchal one
she should be seen and not heard
in fact when her husband cheats, instead of quitting her marriage she should work things out.
she has to cook, care for her household and not have a life of her own
when she gets her salary, she should doable for the hubby and give everything to him
after giving birth to the required number of children, she should still be sexy. if she does not, hubby will look outside and say she refused to take care na, she's not the woman I married.
she should be able too cook both international and local dishes since the road to a man's heart is through food.
in the bedroom, she should be a ho and a pro.
last but not the least, she should live her life pleasing a man.
I guess that's what you want to hear.
So being sexy should end after childbirth? You women need to be taught how to take care of your bodies. It's not just by applying make ups and wearing body shapers. However, if a woman should no longer be sexy because of childbirth then let her allow a younger sexy girl to take care of oga. |

Ishilove: Simple. It is a man's world. If a lady sleeps with ten men, she is a ho, if a man does the same, he is a player. There is a certain code of conduct laid down by nature which women must follow; a certain kind of behaviour expected from us.
These things were designed by God and no matter how we strive and struggle to break free of this kind of 'streamlining', the system will always be there for the simple reason that it was designed that way by a higher force. Let me copy some hungry feminist I know. Cococandy Victoriabee |
