Fashion / Re: 5 Fashion Tips For An Instant Slim Down by checkdate(m): 8:14pm On Nov 14, 2014
Advertico:
There are tons of fashion solutions to give a slimming illusion. Choosing clothes and accessories to make a woman look thinner is typically about focusing on the right kind of patterns, fit and cut for each woman’s unique body proportions. It is camouflaging some of the “wobbly
bits” and emphasizing the attractive
attributes. Of course, a healthy dose of self-confidence is the linchpin for pulling off any outfit. Check out five simple style tricks any woman can do to look five to ten pounds slimmer in just minutes.

1. Wear clothes that fit. One of the most important things a woman can do is to choose clothes that are the right
size for her body. Big, baggy clothes do not hide a fuller figure. In fact, they accentuate it.

2. Use dark colors to cover the most unflattering parts of the body. There is a reason why people say black is
slimming. They say that because it's true.
However, women don't have to shed
everything colorful in their wardrobe. Using a dark color over the areas of the body that a woman is uncomfortable with can camouflage that area and draw the attention to her assets in other places.

3. Use shapewear: Shapewear is not just for overweight women. Women of all sizes have decided that Spanx is not a trend and have wholeheartedly latched on to the shapewear movement. Whether it's toning the tummy, slimming down the hips, or smoothing out a round backside, a little shape wear can work wonders for those "fat days" or any days.

4. Use long necklaces to draw attention
from one’s hips: While accessories will not hide anything directly, they can focus attention off one's problem areas. Long necklaces can create a long, lean appearance and draw eyes upward and inward and away from any saddlebags.

5. Wear hair up and off one’s face.

Jarus:
The Confederation of African Football on Thursday in Cairo, Egypt announced the nominees for the 2014 African Player of the Year and the 2014 African Player of the Year (Based in Africa) in the Glo-Caf Awards.

Twenty-five players were nominated for the African Player of the Year, while 20 players made the list for the Player of the Year (Based in Africa) category.

Super Eagles’ duo of Ahmed Musa, who plays for CSKA Moscow, and Vincent Enyeama of Lille, France, are the two Nigerians who made the list of the topmost 25 players in the main Award category, while Ejike Uzoenyi of Rangers International, Enugu is the only Nigerian shortlisted in the 20-man list of Africa-based Player of the Year.

Musa, a very resourceful player, and Enyeama, the outstanding goalkeeper, were members of the Super Eagles team that won the 2013 African Nations Cup in South Africa and also participated actively in the Super Eagles’ campaign in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Ejike Uzoenyi on the other hand made his international debut for Nigeria in 2012.

He was called up to Nigeria’s 23-man squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and was named to Nigeria’s squad for the 2014 African Nations Championship, where he emerged the most valuable player of the tournament.

He was also named in the Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and made the final squad after Elderson Echiejile was excluded by injury.

The list was compiled through a vigorous exercise by the Confederation of African Football. CAF took into consideration the performance of the nominees for their national teams and clubs from January to November, this year.

Other players shorted listed for the African Player of the Year award include the Ghanaian duo of Asamoah Gyan of Al-Ain and Kwadwo Asamoah of Juventus; Senegal’s Dame N’doye of Lokomotiv Moscow and Sadio Mané of Southampton, Emmanuel Adebayor of Togo and Tottenham and the Cameroonian trio of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting of Schalke 04, Stephane Mbia of Sevilla and Vincent Aboubakar of Porto.

Others are Yao Kouassi Gervais ‘Gervinho’ of Cote d’Ivoire and AS Roma and his fellow country men: Wilfred Bony of Swansea and Yaya Toure of Man City as well as Fakhreddine Ben Youssef and Ferdjani Sassi from Tunisia and CS Sfaxien.

Also listed are Algerian quartet of Islam Slimani of Sporting Lisbon, Raïs M’Bolhi of Philadelphia Union, Sofiane Feghouli of Valencia and Yacine Brahimi of Porto. Yannick Bolasie of DR Congo and Crystal Palace, Thulani Serero of South Africa and Ajax, Seydou Keita of Mali and As Roma, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon and Borussia Dortmund and Mohamed El Neny of Egypt and Basel completed the list.

In the African Player of the Year (Based in Africa) category, the 20 players short-listed are South Africa’s Bernard Parker, Bongani Ndulula and late Senso Meyiwa of Kaizer Chiefs Amazulu and Orlando Pirates, Amr Gamal of Egypt and Al Ahly, the duo of Akram Djahnit and El Hedi Belamieri of Algeria and ES Setif.

The list also included Tunisian and CS Sfaxien players: Fakhereddine Ben Youssef and Ferdjani Sassi.

Others are: Congolese quartet of Firmin Mubel Ndombe of As Vita, Jean Kasusula of TP Mazembe, Kader Bidimbou of AC Leopards and Lema Mabidi of As Vita.

Also nominated are Geoffrey Massa of Uganda and Pretoria University, Mudathir Al Taieb of Sudan and Al Hilal, Roger Assalé of Cote d’Ivoire and Sewe Sport, Solomon Asante of Ghana and TP Mazembe, Souleymane Moussa of Cameroon and Coton Sport and Yunus Sentamu of Uganda and AS Vita.

The winners of the two categories will be decided by votes from the Head Coaches and Technical Directors of the National Associations affiliated to CAF.

The Glo- CAF Awards Gala will take place on January 8, 2015 in Lagos, Nigeria.
Ivorian Yaya Toure was crowned African Player of the Year for the past three years, whilst Mohamed Aboutreika of Egypt was named African Player of the Year (Based in Africa) last year.

Politics / Re: Boko Haram Frees Abducted Women, Girls Rumoured Married Off To Insurgents. by checkdate(m): 4:43am On Oct 24, 2014
Olamitisoji:
Yola—The Boko Haram insurgents, who
reportedly abducted about 50 women
and girls from two border villages
between Adamawa and Borno states
have freed the women among their
captives.
This was disclosed in an interview by
villagers, who spoke on the issue with
newsmen on the telephone from their
hide-outs.
They however, said that the exact
number of those released could not be
ascertained, but that no fewer than
45 girls were still being detained.
According to the villagers, the women
and girls were abducted from Waga
Mangoro which was between Gwoza in
Borno and Madagali in Adamawa
states.
Relatives of some of the abducted
women who were later released by the
insurgents also, told newsmen in Yola
that some of the girls have been
turned to cooks while others were
married off immediately to some of
the insurgents.
A relative to the one of the women who
spoke on the condition of anonymity
said; ”Initially, the insurgents
captured 80 girls and women whom
they later loaded into their vans and
zoomed off into the bushes.
Later in the night, the insurgents
separated the elderly women from the
girls and released the women, who are
now languishing in the forest because
they could not relocate the towns
because they were razed down by the
insurgents.
“We are confused that hours after
the so called cease fire agreement
between the Federal Government and
Boko Haram insurgents, our girls are
still being abducted by the
insurgents.
“We are at a loss about
government’s insincerity on the whole
issue and we urge them to rescue our
daughters without further delay as
we are ready to die searching for our
missing ones.”

Politics / Re: BOMBSHELL: “pres. Jonathan Can’t Win In 2015″ – Dokubo Asari by checkdate(m): 3:37am On Oct 19, 2014
micoyankee:
One of the biggest supporters and kinsman of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has declared that the president has lost the support of his political base, the South-south and the South-East owing to the failure of his government to deliver on its promises.

Dokubo-Asari, at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, said that it would be tough for Jonathan to win the presidential election in 2015 if he decides to run based on the poor showing of his administration.

He said that his decision to speak out was for him and others who are ardent supporters of Jonathan not to be blamed for his failure in 2015.

He said: “I want to start with an Ijaw proverb, which says: the eyes watched its seven children to death. Instead of advising them, it was just looking at them until they died, while the mouth talked its only child to life and success.

“We have continued as Ijaw people and the entire Niger Delta and South-South to support the presidency of President Goodluck Jonathan, but a time has come when silence cannot be golden.

“We mainly speak out in issues that are very critical to the survival of our people, the survival of the people of the South-South and the South-East, which happens to be the political base of Goodluck Jonathan.

“Jonathan is surrounded by very greedy people who are only in the Presidency to enrich themselves at the expense of Goodluck himself.

“This brings us to another Kalabari proverb, which says: where there are elders, a goat cannot be allowed to deliver tied to a stick.

“If we don’t talk and we continue to brush it aside, tomorrow we will be blamed and people will say: Mujahid Dokubo-Asari was around when Goodlcuk Jonathan was president and he didn’t talk.

“Them I will be an accomplice and accessory after the fact….

“It is alarming because the South-South must have its uninterrupted eight years tenure, which is constitutional.

“But with how things are going under Jonathan’s watch, we are afraid that we may not be able to have our eight years tenure because there will be no magic about it if it is going to be one man one vote.”

Dokubo-Asari said he will continue to speak out despite the fact that he had benefitted from Jonathan, adding that one of those causing trouble for the President remains the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Godsday Orubebe.

He said: “I have benefited immensely from Goodluck Jonathan with my stake but benefit alone is not enough to make me to keep quiet when the period is very challenging for our people.

“So, some of us are tempted to ask this question: why are all these things happening?

“Why has the President allow some ministers like Godsday Orubebe to continue in government?

“Everyday people die on the East-West Road.

“If Orubebe is incompetent as he has shown himself to be, he should be removed.

“Nobody voted for Orubebe.

“And why is Orubebe so important to the President that he can’t remove him even in the face of his obvious incompetence and several allegation to corruption?

“We feel very ashamed and embarrassed.

“Orubebe was one of us.

“He was attending meetings with us, sleeping in the ground with us, entering night bus with us and we nominated him to be appointed a minister.

“We have gone to him and complained to him that we don’t like they way things are going in his ministry and told him that if the President leaves in 2015 without the completion of the East-West Road, we are finished.

“And the man keeps telling us there is no money.

“When IBB (former military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida) was there, there was money.

“When Abacha was there, there was money.

“When others were there, there was money.

“How come the money disappeared when Jonathan got there?

“Jonathan and orubebe will account for the death in the East-West Road.”

On the face-off between Jonathan and former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Dokubo-Asari said there was no need for it.

He said that no matter what Jonathan feels, he still remains a beneficiary of Obasanjo’s large heartedness.

He said: “First, there was no need for Goodluck Jonathan to disagree with Olusegun Obasanjo.

“I don’t like Obasanjo.

“I don’t like his face.

“I hate him.

“But he was instrumental in bringing Goodluck Jonathan to power.

“And the greedy people around Jonathan have not managed him enough to the extent that the President and people around him will allow Jonathan to disagree with Obasanjo openly

“And if you check, all the people who supported Goodluck Jonathan and fought to bring him to power, have openly disagreed with him.

“What was the cause of these disagreements?

“These are the questions we want to put to the president.

“Some people say Obasanjo is manipulating Goodluck Jonathan, that is why Jonathan is disagreeing with him and we ask: what has Goodluck Jonathan’s government achieved to show that it is a departure from other governments that have existed since 1956?

“For us, nothing has changed.

“It is still business as usual.

“So what are the advice that Obasanjo gave to Jonathan that were so difficult for him to fulfill, that made him decide to fall out with Obasanjo?

“Obasanjo was instrumental and manipulated the process that illegally removed Diepreye Alamieyeseigha as governor of Bayelsa State and installed Jonathan as governor, made him vice president, fought for him to become acting president and also fought for him to become president of Nigeria.

“Apart from Obasanjo, there are so many people who supported Goodluck Jonathan, some have been pushed out by those who were not there to give him any support, while some others are trapped and they cannot talk.

I have a feeling that Fulani man Buhari would have done more for Niger-delta than Jonathan has done so far Jonathan has done nothing for Niger Delta actually. It is getting more and more difficult to support him, the second niger bridge is another issue. Even his allies are denouncing him. What a shame!

She continued by saying that the ghost came into the hostel, going from one room to another asking about a student named CHINASA or so. Students later reported to the security due to her suspicious movement around the school hostel.
