Career / Re: A Nigerian Bank Killed Its Staff by cheexy: 3:24pm On Oct 14, 2010
@sauer
What cause do you think? Her death should not be in vain. People should be accountable for their actions or in-actions. If the people responsible for don't pay in some way, then God is not on the throne and since He is on the throne, they must pay!!!

Imagine I heard that a branch manager was asked to resign only after 5 months cos the branch was not making money. Where did they want the money to come from eh? The same bank. Now that's strange.

@musa fresh
You have to know that you can spoil your chances of being called in the company if your salary expectation is too low. If it is too low, it would mean that you are not the kind of person they would want tp work with as you don't know your value. Just my 2 cents

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: New Job by cheexy: 7:33pm On Oct 22, 2009
@all
I recently decided to go job hunting after i realised that my business was no more supporting me the way i wanted it to. I then got chatting with an acquaintance of mine to see if there were any vacancies at his place of work. There were vacancies all right but the salary was 10,000 to 15,000 per month for a graduate. I was shocked to my core. Sitting at home without even stepping out to actively source new clients, i could make 3 times that just from my site designs. I found it really painful the extent these so called companies exploit their staff.

A friend of mine pays his SSCE staff 40,000 naira per month and this company pays its graduates 10,000-15,000 naira. Do they even consider how the staff transport themselves?

It is really sad.

Romance / Re: I Need To Know If This Girl Likes Me. by cheexy: 12:52pm On Oct 21, 2009
She likes you, but you may want to be sure by staying friends with her a bit longer. While doing that, compliment her when she is looking really good. Then ask her out. Trust that she will most likely not make the first move cos guys don't appreciate ladies who do that. If she doesn't accept, be man enough to still stay friends with her.
Romance / Re: Ladies Only: How Do You Get Over An Ex? by cheexy: 12:34pm On Oct 21, 2009
The technique i use to get over my exs is to find a new hobby or learn a new skill. I found out that i hardly have time to think of an ex if i am too busy trying to hone those skills. Deleting of the phone number doesnt work cos i know them off hand. I am very strong willed so anytime i make up my mind to do something, i hardly go back. I try to enjoy my freedom while it lasts.

Sometimes the rate at which i get over them makes my friends wonder if i even loved in the first place. I always stay friends with them, I find out that sometimes we are better friends than lovers. Well, thats just me. What works for me may not work for another person.

@poster
I relate with you totally, i used to be like you cos from when i was really young, i watched a couple of films and after seeing the way women would cry for a man, i made up my mind that i would never be that kind of woman so i kept myself from getting hurt but recently i found myself in love with my current boyfriend and i say it more often now, not all the time though.

Don't worry, once u start dating the right person it will come out. We are all differnet. Never let anyone make you feel like a bitch and NEVER GO OUT WITH SOMEONE WHO CALLED YOU A BITCH COS YOU REFUSED HIM. IT SHOWS THE KIND OF PERSON HE IS.

Literature / Re: Living And Learning by cheexy: 12:53am On Mar 23, 2009
There was once a very wealthy rich farmer who planted crops that yielded him so much money that he fame spread throughout the neighborhood countries. He was also known as being very generous and just in all his dealings. At the end of one planting season, he needed workers to help him harvest his yam farm, so he set out to look for workers. Soon enough, he found some workers and they agreed to work for him for a full day’s pay and went on to work on the farm. 3 hours later, he met another set of workers and also employed them for a full day’s pay. Some hours after that, he met another set of workers and the same thing happened. Two hours to the end of the day, he met some other people sitting around and asked them why they had not been working for the day. They replied, “Because no one hired us”. So he told them to go and join the other workers in his farm. At the end of the day, when his cashier was paying the workers starting with the ones who were employed last, he gave them a full day’s pay. Those who were employed earlier were happy because they figured that they would get more since they had worked for a longer period. They were however dismayed when they received the same amount as everyone. They grumbled among one another. The rich farmer on hearing what they were saying called out to them and asked why they grumbled even after they had previously agreed to be given a full day’s pay. He went on to explain that he had decided to give the workers who had come late a full day’s pay out of the abundance of his heart.

This story was adapted from a story in the bible in Mathew 20 which related the rich man to God.

I was inspired by the story because it showed clearly how God helps us to manifest once we are willing to take a bold step and put in some work. It didn’t matter that the last set of workers had arrived late; they were still given a full day’s pay. It then dawned on me that we humans are the ones putting all the limitations on ourselves by thinking that we have become too old to start something that we should have started earlier in life. Instead of wasting that time in regret, why don’t you just start? The worst that could happen isn’t failure but not trying at all.

The mere fact that you have been given that idea or that you are just about to act on an idea that you have had doesn’t mean that it is too late to succeed. The truth is that it is God who grants us the grace to succeed. As seen in the story from the workers that started work earlier, because someone else started earlier in life doesn’t mean that he will be more successful than you who are just about to start. The key is for you to start and tap into that wisdom which only God gives.

It really doesn’t matter what it is, it could be taking a new course in school, starting a business, changing your career, running a charity, developing a skill, meeting a financial target; whatever it is, don’t be crippled by the thought that it is too late. It is never too late until you are dead. The graveyard is the place filled with the most resources because buried in it are so many unfulfilled dreams and untapped potentials. Do not take your dreams to the grave. It will be such a colossal loss.
Career / Re: Project Management by cheexy: 12:38am On Mar 23, 2009
I completed my project management training last weekend and i must say, it was very eye opening, educative and fun. It lasted for 2 weekends. I plan to take my exams in May but for now, i am preparing for my mock exams scheduled to take place in two weeks. I am really glad i took the training. Every project management process falls into the following categories:

Initiating
Planning
Executing
Monitoring and Controlling
Closing

Never to exceed customer expectations. It is called goldplaiting, instead of pleasing the customer, you create distrust in his mind.

Guys go ahead and take it, it is worth the price
