Demdem: Can someone remind this foolish killer member that it was the decision of the beloved Oba Akiolu has supported by market men and women themselves and not Tinubus decision. That means the Oba is a stooge to Tinubu and is utterly senseless to not know the repercussions of his decisions. 6 Likes |

And how have the muslims treated Jonathan? They tried to bring disrepute to his name and government by the wanton killing of innocent christians and destruction of property in the north. They brought terrorism to Nigeria, making his government look incapable of solving the insecurity issue bedevilling the north but thats over now and you guys can to hell. You guys should vote your master Buhari if you wish. The wise ones will go for the people's choice - Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the best ever nigerian president! 3 Likes |

I just don't understand how some people reason. So the government should continue to fund the budget of these duplicate and irrelevant agencies because of the employees? After you idiots will be the ones to scorn the government for not pruning down the cost of running the government. Idiots! |

take dat: Such an inconsiderate doofus with comprehension problem. Did I not agree that we could do with just 20% of the entire civil servants of the Nation if only we have a smart and effective government? So you believe that government should be a matter of few holding the cow for the strongest and most cunning to milk? If he sincerely want to cut the cost of governance, he should start from the top and not the other way round in order to show sincerity of purpose. Your interest is in how much will be saved for some thieving political elites to fritter away and not the plight of those who will be relieved of their jobs with no sure means of livelihood. Wetin this wan dey talk sef? I honestly wish you were making sense. 1 Like |

take dat: The President will receive a lot of backlash for taking this "untimely" bold and necessary action. There is no way you will streamline without downsizing. One would have expected that the president starts with political office holders even if he cannot temper with those holding elective offices in order to show sincerity of purpose. Political office holders and elected officials keep a retinue of PA's, Senior Special Assistance, Special Assistance, Special Advisers etc. And these unneedful political bag-carriers consume a large chunk of the recurrent expenditure. For example, the President has more than 3 media managers who also have their own personal aides (Okupe, Abati, Reno and co, not forgetting that he already has a Minister of information) when he can make do with just 1. The same thing with ministers and other elected officials. Bla bla bla. Imagine that the annual budget of one of these agencies are 300 million. Multiply 300 million by 219 and tell me exactly how much govt will be saving from this trimming exercise. For the retrenched workers, either they'll be absorbed with the merging agencies or they join the private sector. The government has tried for them for the years their agencies existed. Science/Technology / Re: Amazing Things That Women Invented! by chei: 11:40pm On Jul 01, 2013 |
Shollypopz: Yeah. I meant inventors 1. Why did men have an earlier start? Where were the women? 2. Most male inventors (theoritically and practically) pre-industrial revolution era and even after weren't properly educated. The standard of education then was very limited and poor. Hence, most people were partially educated/uneducated. 3. Why did it take a long time for women to progress in science inclined fields? 4. Even if women are being discriminated against in the science fields and are paid lesser wages, why aren't they still inventing anything with the little they have been given? 1 Like |

Foreign Affairs / Re: Are Nigerians Actually Happy People - Myth Or Fact by chei: 9:03pm On Jul 01, 2013 |
Nigerians are sad people, very sad peoples. There is sadness and gloom all over the country. Its written in our faces, our emotions, interactions and the atmosphere. The hatred in Nigeria is trifling. Happy people are not 1. Tribalists: Most nigerians are tribalists 2. Greedy: Some of the greediest species of humans can be found in Nigeria, we are never contented with our status quo, we always want more and more even to the detriment of the society and fellow humans. 3. Wicked: The jungle justice mentality in Nigeria is a major source of our unhappiness. Remember the Aluu 4, a community rounded up a group of four innocent boys, stripped them, hit their heads hard with clubs and sticks till their brains fell outta their skulls and set them on fire. WICKEDNESS!! 4. Unforgiving: Nigerians don't forgive! Always praying for their enemies to die by fire Nigerians can never be happy until we change and purge ourselves of these evil and anti-human traits we possess. 3 Likes |

I can't help but congratulate the prisoners on their newly found freedom. Knowing how hard it is get out of a nigerian prison especially if you're a nobody, these guys should thank their stars. I don't mean all of them though, the robbers, murderers, rapists and thieves should be caught! But those who were sent to prison for sundry and cheap offences or those who ended up in the hole due to conspiracy and blackmail. A big congratulations! 1 Like |

The appropriate thing the prison authorities should do is list the name of the escapees in national dailies. The public should know. . . That's if naija is a country at all 2 Likes |
