Romance / Re: Can You Date Someone Whose English Is Very Poor?? by chellsee: 7:57am On May 15, 2015
Hmmmm

I'm dating a guy whose command of the English Language is a bit poor. It's not like he doesn't speak it but often times, there's grammatical blunders.
e.g Using "is" instead of "was" and all that.

Lately, I realized that whatever grammar you may speak may not necessarily make you a better person so to speak.

Reason is,
I left this guy and started dating someone who had a better command of the English Language but this did not make him a better person. Instead he used his knowledge of the language to make life painful when he did not get his way.

I'm grooming this guy now. Make him read books, see movies and practice his speaking skills.

In good time, I believe he'll be better.

Regardless of any Political party's decision, lives should never be sacrificed on the altar of political glory. All of this could be resolved without all these fracas. Endangering the lives of people.

In the end, there remains no one to govern because they have killed all the people they claimed to want to govern.

U had better make the effort to attend the interview.

The company is quite big. Infact, they have another branch in PH. As for their pay, I do not have an idea.

Do attend the interview.

Most times, I use the lights out as an option to take a break frm my phone. Once the batt is flat, I relax till light is restored. Dis is jst for weekends anyway.
Sometimes, I put d phone on silent but it makes me even more aware cos I'll be worried abt missing some calls or messages.

Weekdays, on the other hand, is another story.

But I'll see abt ur advice.

@drstan, You can download the song from www.tubidy.com.

Just type Timi Dakolo - Great nation. It will bring up some links. Click on it which would further bring up links for video and audio downloads.

For the video download, 3gp Video; For audio, mp3 audio and voila.

Religion / Re: Let's Share Our Testimonies by chellsee: 5:09pm On Jun 30, 2013
My mouth is full of testimonies.

I just left the deeper life camp ground on my way back home after the 'When mountains move' programme. We were at a junction where we were supposed to turn.

OMG! Next thing we know a car hit us real hard at our back and moved the car quite some distance.

The truth is if the car had hit us on our side, I certainly won't be here typing this testimony. Cos with the speed and force the car hit us, it would have been a forgone matter.

U can see some pixs of the wreck and carnage. None of us were hurt bad, just little scrapes and bruises and me with a nasty headache.

I jst thank God that even in our unfaithfulness, he remains faithful. He has not allowed our enemies to mock at us and say ' where is your God'.

Glory be to God in the highest, Amen.

Watch out for the 'Erasmus mundus' scholarship programmes. They handle full scholarships for 3rd world countries but they have a rule.

The essence of training you for free is so you can use the knowledge gained to improve your own country. Vis-a-vis, the same way u came in, be sure dt you must go out.

You can check it online but I don't think the programme for 2014/2015 is out yet. And you must meet deadlines o.

Celebrities / Re: D'banj Is The New Ambassador For Bank Of Industry by chellsee: 1:33pm On May 15, 2013
@truelove: Even OMG says it. All the commercial banks partner with BOI to help facilitate their credit facilities.

And I knw for a certainty that BOI also have funds of their own that they give to small business, women funds and other major industries.

Celebrities / Re: D'banj Is The New Ambassador For Bank Of Industry by chellsee: 7:49pm On May 14, 2013
okeymadu: I have followed the thread and I am surprised that most people here do not know about BOI. This display of ignorance can be forgiven given the fact that BOI has its mandate and if you are not on the list of those requiring their intervention knowing about the bank won't hurt.

I suggest that peeps here should be humble enough to google a name they do not know!

Some have suggested that BOI using Dbanj is a misplaced priority. Shuo? BOI is the first bank that started financing the entertainment industry in Nigeria. The bank, during the London 2012 Olympics, organized events in London showcasing investment opportunities and the entertainment/creative industries in Nigeria. Its alarming when some peeps type stuffs without having knowledge or the slightest of facts on the discussion!

I agree wit all @okeymadu has said.

As d saying goes 'Google is your friend'. Unpopularity does not signify irrelevance. The importance of the Bank of Industry cannot be over-emphasized esp as we claim to want to develop our country's industrial sector.

As @okeymadu said, the Bank of Industry is also a pioneer financier for the entertainment industry.

What more needs to be said sef If u dn't knw, google it.

Haba, enuf wit d ignorance.

Hmmmm! After reading all about eckankar and their so-called way of life. I shld say they have nothing to offer.
I always wondered why one of my bosses never behaved like a christian. Always nasty, insultive, infact, a customer overheard her one day and called her a barking dog. She's dat bad. And den I find out dat she's eck. I mean, wat kinda religion is dat, no right, no wrong. Prior to coming across dis page, I want to say I've surfed d net for evrytin dt can be learned abt dem.
And there's notin good dt comes out frm dem. It's a pity.

Achi is like a seed. Looks like ogbono seeds jst slimmer and a lil bit smaller compared to ogbono. D sellers usually put it in water. It's basically used for thickening soup. A lil goes a long way. U don't want ur soup tasting achi achi achi. wink When u go to d market, jst tell d women dt sell ogbono, crayfish, ground pepper dat u want to buy achi. Dey'll blend it for u, if u want too.

@Rume: My dad only, only speaks d language to his snr brother. If any other family member (cousin, niece, nephew, etc) speaks d language to him, he'd reply them in English.

Even me sef don tire for d guy. If u say, daddy please speak language to us. He won't even answer u sef.
Culture / Re: How Often Do You Speak Your Native Language At Home? by chellsee: 6:52pm On Jan 15, 2013
@Diamaten Notin stops you from speaking d language to ur broda. He understands, jst that he cannot speak. And u would never encourage him to speak if u don't speak to him.

Anyways, for me. It's English. I don't believe I've ever heard my father speak his language to us(Urhobo). And I'm like, how do u expect me to understand talk more of speaking d language.

My mum is d same too. She speaks Kwale only after you have harrassed her . And the next minute she reverts back to English. So, it's English for me.

Well, I've lived all my life in Lagos. Making efforts to learn the yoruba language now.My boyfie's yoruba. wink
