Dropping something for younger ones according to your capacity, is not entitlement mentality. If Nigerian police pick any of them up, no be the other one go run around abi is their parents with them in the city?

Reality is that time flies so fast, 5 years from now the stupidity of this moments will look so infantile.

What really touched me is this "Before I would come back, he would cook noodles and finish it, washed the pot and everything and keep them clean as though nothing happened. Sometimes he eat outside and come back home and ignore me".......your own blood, your younger sibling goes to bed hungry after trekking back from where he is learning a skill, while you have eaten.....Schizoid Personality Disorder no pass this one o.
You made the only sane comment in the first page and this part you boldened made me emotional.
That his brother may even have a girlfriend he's fending for somewhere over his blood brother.
I wonder what people call family these days if sacrificing and sharing with one's younger sibling before they stand on their feet is termed "entitlement".

He didn't save the number as Vicky Hookup. It was Truecaller who identified the girl as Vicky Hook up after the wife looked the number up with the Truecaller App.

Truecaller saves a person's number with what several people have previously saved the number with.

This is my prayer. That is what every sane man deserves.

May God answer your prayers as long as you are not this kind of man depicted in this story.

The disunity in this country will not make any attempt of coup plotting or revolution see the light of the day.
Nigeria has two shock absorbers, ethnicity and religion.

If a coup happens, how do we decide who gets the mantle of leadership?

Why did Hausas call it an Igbo coup? Why did they not call it a Yoruba coup? Could be that there is an untold story about the coup?
In my humble opinion, it was a coup targetted at killing Hausas in the military so as to pave way for late Agu Irosi ,an Igbo man.

"In your opinion"..
This is why I said read books to emancipate yourself from the lies. When a lie is told repeatedly, It starts to become true. The books I recommended you read are not ones written by Igbos. There's a reason I intentionally didn't mention Igbo literatures so it doesn't seem like the authors will write with bias.

Adewale Ademoyega is a Yoruba man. He was one of the coup plotters and from his account, the coup was supposed to be a revolutionary(socialist) coup, which would bring Obafemi Awolowo out of prison and make him President.

Sadly, the coup FAILED. They didn't finish their assignment due to poor planning. (This would be too long to start explaining).

But if they had successfully released Awo from Prison and made him president, would we now say it was a Yoruba coup?

Have you tried using a virtual dollar card? I use Changera, but there are other platforms like Geepay, Grey, and Chippercash.

Download any of them from your Appstore, follow the prompt to create an account, create a dollar account, convert your naira to dollar and you're good to go.

Again, I can only vouch for Changera because it is the one I use, but I've heard good testimonies about the others.

Thank you for your post! Let me ask:
Were you born in 1966? When you there when they were planning the coup? More importantly how many IGBOS die during the coup? How many Yorubas die? How many Hausas die?
I advise you go back and trace history very well. You will see that 1966 January Coup had many Hausas soldiers as causalities and an Igbo became the Head of State It is therefore tagged a coup planned by the IGBOS against Hausas. Who became the president after the coup ? Agui Ironsi! In order to deface Igbos from the coup another person should have been made Head of State and be promoted immediately as they did for Abdusalam in 1999.
The Hausas in the military saw it all ,No wonder they struck back in July same year leading to the death of many IGBOS in the North and the take over of government.
Till today , regrettably the IGBOS are still paying back for the 1966 coup and the Biafra episode.
I am Yoruba .I love IGBOS and Hausas. However I always say for an Igbo to be the Nigerian president a lot of ground work must be done. It is not as easy as that. Consultation and realignment are needed. The trust in IGBOS must be rebuilt in the hearts of Hausas.
This is a bitter truth that my Igbo friends don't want to hear. Igbo presidency is a mirage for now!
Another person would not have been made Head Of State because in the military command is hierarchical and coincidentally Aguyi Ironsi was the highest-ranking military officer.

Nigerians need to read books like "Oil, Politics and Violence" by Max Sillioun and "Why We Struck" by Adewale Ademoyega, a Yoruba historian who was part of the coup plotters.

Those books changed my understanding of the coup. It was not an Igbo coup.

Very hard for Nigerian to give you something supposedly worth 1000s of dollars 100% free without getting something juicy back in return.

ALX is not a Nigerian skill acquisition programme. It's owned by Fred Swaniker, a Ghanaian. Their programmes can be demanding but life-changing.

"Low life".
Because of A4 paper certification.

Is formal education the only type of education there is?
A lot of O'level holders are more productive than so-called graduates these days. Attend digital skills or tech webinars and interact with people so that you'll see for yourself the kind of potential the set of people you term " low lives" have.

I'm not asking you to train somebody's daughter o... Make dem no go serve you breakfast tomorrow, but I'm saying you shouldn't be dating someone you claim to be better off than without asking what their long-term goals are and how they plan to achieve them...

What do you even discuss with a secondary school leaver? You come off as a distraction. Please do well to cut ties with her and look for your class.

But now he rest in peace sir
In the belly of the beast sir
Have you ever been shot
Forty-one times
Have you ever screamed
And no one heard you cryyy
Have you ever died
Only so you can live
Have you ever lived
Only so you can die again, and be born again
From these enemies, on the borderline
Who'll be the next to fire

Angel claims to be in her early 20s. If she's her mum's first, then it's possible to have dated Dbanj whether or not he had achieved fame.

Shebi Genevive also dated Dbanj and she has a grown-up daughter.

Family / Re: I Am So Worried About My 5-year Old Son by ChemicalReaction(f): 12:50am On Aug 21, 2023
OP, seeing how worried you sound makes me imagine how worried my Dad had been when, according to him I came home with a double-digit result in SS1 after my school was changed.

At the time, my Dad was so sad he did several things to motivate me, including promising me a phone at the time.

Fast forward, I wasn't a dullard but I failed when I changed schools and my parents were mostly unavailable. But after my Dad noticed this, he worked with me and I turned out a bright child again and excelled through the remaining classes. Today, just so I don't brag, I could easily be top three in my class.

The point is, like your sister already explained, allow your child to go back to Nursery 2. It's a foundation class, the boy is not rushing anywhere. You would be doing him a great disservice if you push him to Primary One. The competition would be too much. He would struggle in the new class and also frustrate the teacher to not "having his time".

Give him time and he'll pick up. Even if he doesn't as fast as you anticipated, continue motivating him, also realise that some kids are slow learners, and others have learning disabilities too. Besides, like someone mentioned above, we're not all cut out for academics. People can also excel in other spheres of life.
