See ehn Amah70 please stop with the unending whining. I returned home this December thinking that Orlu is soo bad the way you always depict it.

Whereas its just exaggerations, the inner roads in Orlu zone other local government areas are good, most were tarred by NDDC.
Orlu itself just has bad road towards the market area while going towards Nkwerre . Nkwerre itself has lots of new businesses , fine houses, hotels , plazas. Mind you Nkwerre is also part of Orlu zone.
What you should be asking for is concrete roads in the entire state because the roads aren't lasting. The underground water scheme can still be started in Owerri. It will eventually reach Orlu

Please just stop demarketing Imo state. I'm begging you.

There are many states in southern Nigeria that are struggling to reach the level of Imo state based on what I've seen in these past few days

This is good news, more competition is needed in the Nigerian automobile manufacturing biz, that way their cars would get better and probably have cheaper brands

We are not necessarily igbo, we come from the Benin empire, we are ndokwa people.
This inferiority complex that makes Igbo groups deny their origin is what irritates me sometimes.
All my stay in Yorubaland, never have I seen an Owo man, or an Ondo man deny being Yoruba.
Yet when they speak their dialect someone from Ife might need a translator.

My friend the earlier you wake up the better. Everyone can't be from Benin, surely surely some must be from Igbo. Nobody cares whether you are from Benin or China, once your name is Emeka or Chukwudi you are an Igbo man to any other ethnic group.

Please can you kindly share the loads and time of usage on the UPS inverter aso the charger use, am planning going these route too.
Already gotten my bluegate ups , remains battery and charger.
My load is 60w LED TV, 25w DStv and one small fan .
Just wanted to know if the 40ah battery is okay or 100ah . Thanks
I only use it for laptop and phone charging with a low watt LED bulb .. however I'll advice you get a DC solar fan , when I tried my standing fan, it overheated and almost got burnt, due to modified sine wave

I'm not really in the position to talk about the battery capacity cos I've not even been able to really test run it from full to finish

Hello guys,

I converted my Bluegate 650va ups to an inverter with a small DC fan inside it , with a 40AH battery. Been using for about 2 months now.
However now it makes weird sounds every 10 to 15 minutes, crackling sounds. As if something is scratching the metallic casing.
I opened it up and noticed the transformer was the one making the sounds.

Please is there any fix for thishuh

You are correct, but how do you power skyscrapers without electricity?

Do you know there are communities that haven't had light for about 2years in Imo state? Do you know the light in Owerri from Egbu to Nekede area is epileptic?

So, how will the skyscrapers be powered?

(Please, don't say generators or solar)
Seriously, inadequate electricity is really impeding development in this country, and the government does not know.

This problem of inadequate land in southeast can be averted by building skycrapers for offices and residential houses.

The way I see it that's the only way forward, the lands would soon finish in the cities.

You and the too many people like you in Imo state make late Sam Mbakwe look stupid. Mbakwe quickly built four surface water supply projects in then Imo state.
You make northern Nigeria’s governors who provide treated pipe borne water for their citizens look stupid.
You make working governor Sam Umahi of Ebonyi state look stupid; Umahi has just completed an expensive surface water supply project in his state.
Too many Nd’Imo parade university degrees but ask government to build roads in state capital but forget treated pipe borne water supply. Nd’Imo, including PhD holders, get angry with government over pot holes in the state capital but return home to cook and even drink untreated water from water boreholes.
I just gave you my opinion, or can you not reply without being to rash. You can't convince anyone with your method

I actually believe other things like electricity, jobs and good roads would attract people more

Ok, relocate Imopoly, FUTO, IMSU, AIFCE, FERCOLAT from Owerri to Orlu, but establish PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES like Harvard, MIT, Afe Babalola, Convenant Uni, all in Owerri.

If we do that, I bet you that before 10 years, Orlu shall become more modern and more urbanized than your Owerri home area.
This is the shortsightedness right here.
You need to understand that our system of government is not allowing public universities to thrive well enough, in the world it's in UK that you would find the best public universities, but Nigeria models after US unfortunately..

MIT, Havard, Stanford Universities are all private ,
Silicon Valley started due to a lot of effort from Stanford university and their staffs/students. Now silicon valley is home to HP, Apple, Google, Facebook etc.

Tell me that isn't good development,

why then did Owerri/Mbaise people nearly start a CIVIL WAR each time former govs Udenwa, Ohakim and Okorocha talked about removing Imo state university from Owerri?

You overrate the value of Nigerian public universities, if it was back in the days when they usually maintained industries to generate income, I would have agreed immediately, but these days even sachet water is difficult for some public Nigerian tertiary institutions,
I know you want to talk about land, houses , hostels etc. Yes yes yes .. presence of schools caused faster building of houses and estates etc.

But how has that helped the common man who is not a student ?
When these public schools go back to how they were back in the days .. , public universities used to own poultry, fisheries , cow ranches then I would agree with your statement

I even see nothing stopping them from owning other industries maybe in Tech or anything.
Real estate and housing is development, but it's too shortsighted, prices of goods and services keep increasing in S.E cos of inadequate industries..

the person meant having a public university where the students stays among the villages renting flats and hostels a la polynek, futo style contribution of funds cycling the areas surrounding
university through printing and the likes not your description here..he is looking at it strictly through the Nigerian pattern of how areas surrounding public universities benefit from students patronage
Yea, I understood what he meant. However I believe the massive building of hostels and flats around schools is not really the development that should be praised. Many of these off-campus hostels are as a result of poor management in the schools and inadequate hostels in the school premises. Students barbing salons and multiple off-campus hostels are not really the economic and human development that are worthy of praise.

However if you notice, lots of Nigerian private schools manage their industrial sector very well, sometimes better than public Nigerian Universities.
Many of them have bakeries, Table water factories, Plazas, Farms which supply the area.

I will still choose this form of development 100 times before I choose a development characterized by multiple hostels, student barbing salons and betting shops

and here in Nigeria, schools like Covenant Uni and Afe Babalola university have brought about huge human and economic development. Maybe not up to federal universities but more than a lot of Nigerian state universities

How can he still be doing bitter politics in this kind of dire times. These guys suddenly forget that governance is not a competition with their predecessor, but rather it's about serving the people

Guy I don't know where that governor is getting funds .. over the past few years.
Numerous concrete roads,
4 flyovers,
international market,
Mall,
ecumenical center,
manufacturing of electric cars (tricycles for now) ,
now he has started airport ,
and I read somewhere that he said he must build a stadium and teaching hospital before he completes his tenure

I now wonder, where is he getting allocation, I thought Ebonyi is around the lowest three states in state allocation..

You call those bunch of structures hospitals?

Take it or leave it, Rochas knows zilch about leadership. He lacks planning and administrative skills. The fact is, he's just one loquacious clown.

He just wakes up and starts executing projects without carrying out a proper feasibility study.

You are more interested in the number of staffers they will employ, but you didn't consider if they are viable in the first place - given that they are sited in rural communities.

Can people who live in those communities afford their services?

Can the funds they generate be enough to maintain those huge structures, pay bills and pay staff salaries?

These are questions I am certain Rochas could not answer before embarking on the wild goose chase.

Notice that cottage hospitals are often built for rural communities while general hospitals are sited in the heart of town for a reason.
It's not about the size, they can employ nurses and some junior doctors in each of the hospitals. The major services should be treating emergencies before refering to the main hospital. Also things like maternity services, family planning should be provided.

What happened to all the useless structures your boss scattered across the 27 LGAs in Imo State in the name of world-class hospitals?

They started with Katsina and now to Imo. Why is the NNPC taking up the task of building hospitals across the country?

What are the responsibilities of the federal ministry works or health? Those should be more concerned about building hospitals.

Why is the NNPC not more worried that we import virtually all the PMS and other petroleum products we consume in the country?

NNPC should use the money to fix our moribund refineries or build modular refineries. Pretty soon, the entire country will depend on Dangote refinery and the monopoly continues.

If this country cannot fix its oil and gas industry, which is her biggest revenue earner, then Nigeria doesn't deserve to be called a country.
At the end of the day what Atiku suggested is the best move.. Privatize NNPC, the government is not even handling it well at all. How else can they explain Kaduna refinery making a loss of 64 billion in a year, or fruitkeless oil exploration in the Northern Nigeria worth about 3 billion dollars.

If it is in private hands, it would be driven by profit, therefore they would rather repair the refineries or build new ones close to the oil wells or else it won't be profitable enough for the owners.
