I would reckon that with Cassano on the pitch and to gain a balnced team we cannot afford to have Pirlo, Rino and ambro in midfield together. One of Flamini or more likely KPB shld slot back into the midfield to plug holes left by attacking players.

My wish for Jan. A CentreBack and a Fullback. Abata has looked promising in the last few games but showed his dreadful side in the Roma game so i am really confused about whether we should let d boy grow or get someone better like Van Der Wiel.

@CHic2pimp. Dont think the Cassano deal should cost us much
If that is the case(Cassano not costing much), then at least one of my fears has been put to bed.

Definitely Pirlo,Rino and Ambro can't play and should not be allowed to play together in the same midfield. Someone has to give way. That person can't be Andrea cuz If he(Pirlo) gives way, our midfield would be devoid of any real creativity. So basically, the coach has to take the tough decision to drop either of Ambro and Rino. I'm not holding my breath though.

@HUSTLER

I'm not too sure of Van Der Wiel's Defensive qualities. Although I won't complain if we get him.

Selling matt Hummels was one of the bumb decisions made by the board.
It definitely was.
dayokanu:
Selling matt Hummels was one of the bumb decisions made by the board.

But looking at it, In 2007/08 during Hitzfeld 2nd coming, we had the best defensive record in the Bundesliga with Lucio-Demichelis in great form.

We had breno a youngster annd Hummels. Hummels was talented and they felt they would be doing a great disservice to his talent and the National Team by keeping him on the bench forever, They sold him to Dortmund who gave him playing time.

I dont see what the board has done wrong here.

in comes LvGaal and he sold off Lucio, Demichelis lost form at an alarming rate Thats why we are regretting the sale of Hummels. What I blame the board for however is that they should have included a return clause in the sale.

Hummel and Dortmund know he would still come back to Bayern but when he would, is the problem. Hummels is a Bayern youth product and its often said in germany that Hummels and his friend Howedes would be the future CB partner for Germany

It would be hard for him to come back next yr as Dortmund is going to the CL and he would upset their young team in Dortmund of Hummels, Subotic, Goetze, Schmelzer, Sahin, Grosskretz and Kagawa
Tbh, I have never really rated Demicelis even when he was on form and in the case of Breno, I've always felt that it was more hype than substance.

I might be a tad overrating him but I'll say it anyways. He(Humels) is one of the best if not the best German centre back I have seen since Kohler. Dude is extremely dominant(Subotic is good but this dude I don't hesitate to say is on another level). I firmly believe him and Genoa's Ranocchia are the best young centre backs in europe. Seriously I don't know why you lot did not include a buyback clause?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Offical Bayern Munich Fan Thread: 6x Champions Of Europe by chic2pimp(m): 12:12am On Dec 23, 2010
Your defence keeps letting in goals like no man's business. . . . . . One has to seriously ponder the decision taken by your board to let Mats Hummels leave. From what I have seen of him, he is a damn sight better than all of your Defenders.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: The AC Milan Thread: 2021/2022 Serie A Champions! by chic2pimp(m): 11:56pm On Dec 22, 2010
Dinho is on his way out. He i apparently heading back to Brazil. The Club where he made his name, Gremio to be specific. So the signing of Cassano just might not be a huge problem after all. Anyways If the Dinho story is true, here is wishing him(Ronaldinho) Goodluck and also we Rossoneri Faithfuls would like to say a very big thank you for his 2+ years of service.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: The AC Milan Thread: 2021/2022 Serie A Champions! by chic2pimp(m): 11:03pm On Dec 22, 2010
I feel indifferent to this signing. On one hand I am absloutely delighted as he would no doubt strengthen out Team/Squad. I mean, How could he not? After He is a "Genius" with the ball at his feet. However on the other hand , I think the money spent could have been better used to strengthen other weaker areas in the squad i.e Defence. No one certainly not Milan Fans nor the board for that matter needs to be told that we struggle badly whenever neither Nesta or Thiago are out injured. I'm sure we could have gotten a very good defender(i.e Ranocchia) for that amount of money.

Another reason, I'm not absolutely chuffed is because of Cassano's well known and highly publicised temperment. Do we really need another "One Of Those" when we've already got Ibra and Robinho in the squad. Come to think off it when everyone is fit, who would he(Allegri) drop and who would he play? At moment we've got Robinho,Pato,Dinho,Ibra,Boateng(has been playing the role of the trequartista recently) and now Cassano vying for two possibly three positions in the team. Who would he leave out? . . . . . . Hence I think this was Galliani and Berlu's signing not the coach cuz I somehow don't think Allegri woulda gone in for Cassano when we already know he already has problems making up his mind as it is now.

Anyways, let's see how it works out. If helps bring the Scudetto back to the San siro, I sure won't be complaining. Here is hoping he doesn't derail our title ambitions.
wilshre is the new xavi. i believe he will even take it past xavi when he comes into full maturity. people generally have made arsenal fc a laughing stock and it's not fair. just last monday, wenger said something about the pitch and the media/fans jumped on him that he was using excuses to deflect the loss. but he wasn't. he never said arsenal lost because of the pitch. he said the game wasn't pretty because technical players couldn't showcase their talents due to the bad pitch. let's cut wenger some slack - it's not easy being at the receiving end every week and yet we expect him to win the league title. cheesy
I highly doubt that.

WoW! I just discovered this thread! Didn't know there were so many of us Barca fans in naija, whenever I start to discuss football with most peeps & they discover I'm such a big footie fan, they ask what club I support & when I say Barca, they go "yeah, everyone likes to watch Barca, but what club do you support"? Of cos, they expect that I support some premiership club or the other (typical naija bandwagon), but in my family, we all support "strange" clubs (Barca, AC Milan, Inter-yes Inter!)

Good to see some fellow Barca fans here & you'll be seeing me more often!
Send dem come the Rossoneri thread.

Gyan doesn't even deserve to be in the running. Was there anything exceptional about Gyan's performance in the year under review? How many goals did he score for Rennes? How many goals did he score at the Nations Cup in Angola?
At the world cup, he scored two penalties and one goal and of course, he ballooned the chance to put Ghana's name in the history books of African football.
Is it with these average performances that he deserves to win the African Player of the Year?
In my opinion, Drogba had the best individual performance in the year under review. He played a very vital role in Chelsea's league and cup win. He was only second to Messi as highest goal scorer in all of Europe with 29 goals. He scored 37 goals in all competitions. He also scored a goal at the world cup despite playing through pains.
Yes, Eto'o won the treble but in my opinion, he wasn't so fantastic. He scored 18 goals in all competitions which is a poor return for someone like Eto'o
Diego Milito was Inter's Main Striker(No 9) last season while Eto'o was used a wingforward.
