He was resuscitated, but I regret to announce that he finally died after some time. May God accept his soul.

If this is true, then, the crowd around him killed him. You can imagine people crowding him with such noise just to take a picture and video of him to create content. You don't crowd someone in such situation, you don't carry him either. We actually lack basic first aid and CPR sense as citizens of Nigeria

Moving To Australia When You Are 45 And Over

There are exceptions to most visas' age limits.

In situations like this what visa one should take as a Nigerian

At 45, you already have age disadvantage to travel. Your best bet is to invest in your spouse (If she is reliable and trusted) like the OP who did thesame at age 48, and hope everything goes well.

I am beginning to think your family is under serious satanic siege. You guys need family deliverance ASAP to cutoff all negative evil reoccurance. Only you, your family members are stranded in Australia and cannot afford flight ticket back to Nigeria. Now, another two members of your family died in US without coming home.
Who una offend? May their souls rest in peace

Let me confess that part of my bias stems from the historical fact that oyinbo himself did not end the evils in his fatherland by surrendering it to evil doers and running away to another man's land. I'm sorry I don't mean to sound rude, but this is exactly my mindset.

Immigration and emigration is not a thing for Nigerians alone. The original owners of Australia are the Indigenous Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Australia who are black in colour and few in number. A lot of people from the UK migrated to Australia and are now the policy makers while the original owners are been sidelined. So, your priorities in life determines where you will decide to settle. It is not a thing of black or white

In Australia, most citizens here are not Aboriginals and torresl

Well, may be I'm only biased by the fact that I cannot as a graduate reduce myself to operating a forklift just to make more money. The same reason I will never sit in the boot of a bus just because it'll cost less and leave me with extra money, and I shake my head when I see people do it. I'm sorry, this is just me but if it sits well with you to do it just because it brings more money, fine. Please continue!

The OP is a professional who can get back to his profession any time soon. All he needs is get certified by Australian standard and he is good to go. Age is not really an issue here. In as much you are still active, you can land any job of your choice. Now tell me, should he sit at home waiting until he gets certified?

Your Nigerian certificate is worthless here until you up your game. Even if you are a medical doctor and come to Australia to study, you MUST do similar jobs until you are done with your studies. There is no big deal about it at all. Most people remain poor because of their ego. When it comes to making money, I will do anything legally possible as long I will not depend on anyone to afford my basic needs in life.
Enjoy your graduate status...

A taya o. They pay rent of $800 per month, which is almost half of the monthly earning. That's over one million naira on rent per month. If they have to keep telling us what they earn by converting to naira, then they should also convert what they spend to naira. Who spends up to 1,000,000 naira on monthly rent in Nigeria? Nobody wastes so much here.

This idea of exchange rate that means nothing to a man permanently resident and doing menial job abroad is deceiving them.

You are so confident displaying ignorance. Rent is paid either weekly or every fortnight (2 weeks). And yes, rent a week ranges between $600-$800 a week. I earn ( $43 morning rate $47 afternoon rate, $49 Night rate) per hour on weekly basis, depending on shift I pick. Now, Saturday rate is $58 per hour and Sunday is $75 per hour. Public holiday is $95 per hour. Note, some companies pay higher than that while some pay lower. Now, assuming I work 10 hours on Sunday, (I am paid 10×75= $750 on Sunday alone. Let assume tax of 50 is taken from Sunday shift, my total take home on Sunday is $700 ( I can decide to work double shift on sunday i.e, doing 10 hours in one company and another 8-10 hours with my second company). Can't you see that my one day pay has taken care of my one week rent issue?

Note: the quotation above is for 3 bedroom flat. You can as well get two bedroom flat for between $400-$600 per week depending on your location. If you are single, what you pay is between $200-$250 per week. With that, you can even save more than expected.

Just de play.

Wow! That's very commendable. You are the 3rd person I am hearing this from. They said our Nigerian brothers and sisters are really helping out a lot over there.

I even got to know about one bros that was recommended straight by a Nigerian guy through visa 482 sponsorship. He recommended the bros in their office and they hired him directly from Nigeria and sponsored him. Through recommendation! I was impressed.

Things like these are very impressive.

Nigerians are really doing fine here. Recently a Nigerian born rose up to the office of Audit General of NSW government. We have a lot of Nigerians who own companies here but they all came as nobody. Today, they are big shots.

Do you spend naira in Australia? If not then the mental conversion to naira is totally irrelevant. Because your expenses are in AUD

At 1600 AUD how many years will it take you to pay off a mortgage?

I guess you don't read to understand but to reply. Let me break it down. He said, what he saves in Nigeria after paying for bills and other expenses is $1600 a month. This will yet increase in the nearest months as he is just 3 months old in Australia. By the time he fully settles, he can save(after expenses) as much as 3k a month. Do you understand now? 🤔

Pls sir how much can a person who is Very prudent save after tax doing menial work in Australia for one month.

It depends on how long you work. I pays $600 a week as rent excluding utility because I pay that monthly. My average feeding budget a week for 3 persons is $300. I buy petrol of $80 a week to move around. So, I spend approximately $1000 a week. Having said that, I work for 3 different companies where I can earn between $1500-$2200 a week. So, I can comfortably save between $3500-$4500 a month. My wife get her own earnings too.

Which city are you in? Hope you guys are helping new comers. Cuz I need someone that will come pick me from the airport when I finally land by 2026 and also accommodate me for 2 weeks. Can you help out on that?

Nigerians in Australia are truly helpful I must confess. There is no tribalism here like we see in our home country. Infact, it was a Yoruba who helped me ( Igbo man) and my family to settle down faster. The family housed my wife for 5 months without collecting rent and also fed her for free until I came me. I failed to mention that I am working with one company owned by a Yoruba man. Immediately he saw me in church, he asked if I am willing to work in his organisation. That's all

So how can one who travel to the country survive with tourist visa or other short stay visas?
Help!
I am waiting for your response Sir

By immigration law and policy, you cannot convert a tourist visa to work visa or student visa. No employer will employ and no one will house you either. However, nothing is impossible. I met a church member last month who told me he came to Australia on tourist visa but converted to student visa. I didn't ask him how he did it because it wasn't my business.

However, i have just a simple comment to make..

EARLY DAYS, my brother. Early days. You've just been there for 3 months. Let's have a feedback after 2 years. Very smart of you to ditch searching for Accounting job and went into factory/warehouse job. The frustration and depression would have been too much for you.

One thing i know for sure is that loss of "Big man"status in Australia will be unbearable for you in the long run. You will begin to appreciate Nigeria regardless of all the shortcommings.

Ney. He won't regret it. Go online and search to see if you will see any Nigerian living in Australia complaining that things are not working. You will see video of people living in UK, even Canada or sometimes US. You will never see anyone from Australia complaining. They don't make noise here. Everyone is busy making 💰. No matter what you are doing here, bros, you are OK. Just forget it. Australia is not just a country but a continent. They are way underpopulated. There is something for everyone to do except you are lazy (met one minister son that has been here for 5 year schooling. He doesn't do anything. He parents still send money to him). Their work system is not tasking or draining. You work according to your availability. You control you time and your life here. Let me stop here.

As for the children, forget it. They will not come back. What's the motivation to come back to Aland their father left at 48

Hahahahahahah. This one got me laughing hard.
See, one reason some of us relocated was not just because we are poor or struggling ( travelling to Australia via student route no be joke. For someone to bring out 40-50M to travel shows the person is not doing badly.). We just wants to secure the future of our children. While in Nigeria, I had two plant managers (earning between 2-3M with other benefits) who resigned and moved to both US and Canada. When I asked them why they resigned, both said because of their children.

See, the advantage in securing a second passport is too numerous to be counted. I find it hard to say this but I have to. African passports are not respected anywhere. When I got to China on my way to Australia, we had 6 hours layover. A hotel room was given to everyone that holds UK, US, Canada, Australia passports (either white or black). The rest of us either paid from our pockets or hanged somewhere waiting for 6 hours. Make I stop here. Nigeria will be great one day. But we need to be alive to witness it.

I don't get... So bosses in Australia don't call their junior staffs over intercom to bring coffee for them? I thought this behaviour was from the western world initially. Congratulations to you and your family.

It is an offence to call someone Sir or Boss or Oga in Australia. You address people by 'hello mate', or you call them my name like, 'Ayo' not 'Mr. Ayo'. The mrntality of oga and boss is not here. Infact, there is no office cleaner or coffee boy in Australia. You clean your office, wash your toilets and make your coffee by yourself.

Can I shock you? You don't even have a personal driver in Australia. You buy your car and drive yourself. If you are scared to drive, you call taxi .

Their head office is at Melbourne but they have sub-agent in many countries including Nigeria. Check them online and see if they have any agent to assist you in Nigeria. Just that you recently moved to Australia. Please can share the total cost of migrating including flight fees. Thank you.

I didn't spend Naira. I have not been to Nigeria for the past 5 years. I spent AED to AUD. When my wife left UAE July last year, she paid initial school fees of 20k AUD. Other expenses should also be approximately 20k AUD. I didn't show POF because I submitted my UAE business licence and a notorized latter to immigration online portal. Her flight to Australia cost 10k AED. I don't know how much it would be in naira presently. As at today, 1AUD is 870 Naira. Do the calculations. Please note, there are lots of new immigration policy that has been implemented recently. Do well to visit Australian immigration website. Last year, my wife did not write IELTS or any other English test. But now, it has changed. Before you start, please double check
