Politics › Re: Was Colonialism Good For Africa? by chidichris(m): 2:22pm On Nov 29, 2007
Seun,
Ethiopia was not colonised by any country so tell me which of the colonised countries that is less developed than ethiopia.
south africa today is the no 1 in africa and has the european standard and we can all testify that the longer the whites stayed the better the country.
by the way, if britain was still in nigeria till date(though not possible) there is no way we can be under darkness, getting used to bad roads and lack security to the last word.
if we are talking about colonisation, we shld be able to differentiate from the western colonial rule and the self colonial rule.
how do we express the situation in Zimbabwe? is there any form of colonialism that could have strecthed to that extent.
we have to be able to differentiate between ideological issues and realities.
the rate of insecurity in nigeria could be more deadly than colonialism. our april polls can't be experienced in a colonial era no matter how bad they colonial masters are.
if there is a way of bringing the colonial masters back, i will be at the forefront of such efforts

mamajama,
people's response to your comparism will go a long to confirm to u how imbalance u are in your reasoning and comparism.
if you are comparing the price of oil in usa that imports petrol from nigeria to nigeria that exports petrol then what about the prices of cars and other products that americans produce.
just look at yourself. i sincerely feel ashamed of u. very soon, u will start comparing sudan and zimbabwe to america.
if we cannot afford terol in nigeria, then tell me what we can afford as a people.
if we are exporting petrol, what then are we importing as a people because practically, almost everything in nigeria today is contra-band.
in which areas of our lives as a people are we having upper hands rather than in corruptions.
no matter how late it is, we must say something even if it will not reflect.
obj is never a past and will not be in the nearest future.
how come past presidents in other countries are not past? how do u reffer a man who is actively in politics as a past? the chairman of BOT is practically the most powerful member of the party and this is the rulling party we are discussing here.
mamajama, i have said it times and i am here to say it again, i am not in any manner ready to accept that u are existing anywhere arround the us not to talk about usa.
how come u are always tackling IBB issues when u address obj as our past or are u saying IBB is our current president of he killed ur relative?
my dear, u have to grow up.
Politics › Re: Police Beat Up Oyo Commissioner by chidichris(m): 8:15am On Nov 27, 2007
each time i read afam's contribution on any nigerian issue, i just feel sweet. afam has really made my day.
in ibadan, it is obvious there is no law, it is adedibu and co or nobody. the police can go to hell.
it is the reign of tauts so a motor park conductor can be opportuned to be a commissioner so for the boldness of the police in this matter, i am happy.
at the moment, the commissioner has been settled with a jungle justice while we wait for the yar adua's rule of law which if well followed, the police man will be promoted for work well done.
mamajama, we are here to praise the police man while we wait for you, the london police and the police reform so the commissioner will have to wait till this intended reforms become a reality for him to be a saint again.
the let down on the nigeria police has come beyond reasoning.
the rate at which politicians use the nigerian police as erand boys in worth condeming.
it is obvious that most of our police men who have served the country for twenty years and above still carry bags of money for young politicians to their destinations and most times go home hungry.
please, for the officer or officers in-charge, i recommend them for promotions as long as this issue is concern and let the matter be closed.
Politics › Re: Nlanders List Your 5. Top Nigerian Criminals Of Your Choice + Reasons. by chidichris(m): 12:08pm On Nov 26, 2007
if the list must continue, mine goes this way;
1. PDP: a group of trained criminals( the bodes, annenihs, objs, ubas and adedibus)
2. the police: helpless robbers
3. abiola : participated in all coups in nigeria and died struggling for what he denied many
4. law makers : stinkingly rich without trace
5: our new economic colonial masters ( Adenuga and Dangote) they will soon buy aso rock.

skyone,
you must not post this kind of thread again. in the first place u did not mention ur 5 top nigerian criminals and u want us to put our own neck , why?
again, in a country of 150m and abode you are asking for just 5 criminals when we are all aware that in the last eight years only one family in anambra was able to produce three giant criminals at the same time the same histroy with a family producing 3 good players in supper eagles the same time.
because the author of this thread did not mentions, i will not be mentioning the namse so far

Politics › Re: My Heart Goes Out For Yar'adua by chidichris(m): 9:06am On Nov 25, 2007
wow, starting 1983 when buhari/idiagbon came into power, i have seen nigerians as a people who like and rejoice whenever there is a change in power but what i am yet to see is that joy lasting long.
the word for pro gov officials will always be" they are trying" but what are they trying to do? trying to use money that is avaialable to get us armenities that are not available or trying to use the presidential jet to shift the country's funds to all parts of the world?
it is time we define this trying issues as one will be able to know when the leaders are trying on the positives or on the negatives.
in yar adua, nigerians saw a graduate coming to take over for the first time, gentle man and the most suitable candidate according to the judgements of obj which though all these were not relflected in his governance in kastina as their governor. we have seen in him a man ready to make effective use of rule of law as were shown in his support for several judiciary decission like the removal of inlaw as the gov of kebbi state and his readiness to release a land he got through the obj led government property sharing madness in abuja.
in all fairness, he has cancelled many contracts awarded by obj's regime terming them as illegal yet to whom much is given much is expected.
the most important thing will be the effect of all these moves on the citizenry. how is the administration touching the lives of common men in the street? if things will continue to be well at the administrative levels without reflecting on the lives of the poor masses, it will still be linked to the same trying and it will also be seen as a right step in the wrong direction or a square peg in a round hole.
yar adua shld get out of all these idealistic projects and get into realities and start touching the lives of the masses. we need something different. we need more tanapas. we need practical men and projects. nigerians are tired of commissioning roads and projects on the newspapers and televissions.

i wanted to express my surprise with the outbust here but remembering it is coming from mamajama, i decided to get over it.
mamajama, in respect to ur thread, what has iykron said that is offending to u?
most times posting topics that one is clueless can lead to unnecesary quarrels otherwise u can go ahead and defend ur topic.
for every political killing of public figures, the gov of the day must have some explaination to make otherwise such killing must be traced without wasting time and the case of dele giwa and bola ige are not exceptional to the case.
if it is true that an attorney general of nigeria will be killed without trace, it means the president can also be killed by armed robbers operating in oshodi.
even in nigeria movies, bola ige's killers must be caught so what more in a real nigeria?
Politics › Re: Senate Rejects Transfer Of Bakassi To Cameroun by chidichris(m): 8:30am On Nov 25, 2007
something is common in this bakassi issue, gowon, obj and ajibola - i think they are all from yoruba.
gowon gave up bakassi to make sure there will not be any form of aid flowing from there into the then biafra. obj made a fool of himself because he wanted the support of the international communities in his third term bid so ajibola a brother to the above two must be traced to something.
if one will look at all these, what is the relationship between the bakassi people and the yourubas? if witnesses are needed in the areas of nigeria's boarders with cameroun, will the yorubas be the ones to testify?
the uttah guru made a lot of mistakes and bakassi is one of them. the senate deserves the support of nigerians on this issue.
someone rightly said that it is expensive to rebuil after a war so that serves good enough reason for us to give up to anyone who shows interests.
we must be reminded that if cameroun succeeds in taking bakassi benin, togo and ghana will soon indicate their interests in part of nigeria and then it maybe lagos or abuja and to avoid war, we will give in to their demand.
it is obvious that most times, war remains that most effective way of getting a lasting peace.
Politics › Re: Chavez And Ahmedinejad: World Political Comedians by chidichris(m): 8:13am On Nov 25, 2007
america is the problem because it attacked iraq and afghanistan but who attacked rwanda, burundi, siera leone and liberia or who is attacking zimbabwe.
when inccidences that take lives and destroy property takes place in africa, it is no case but when it affects other continents, africans will find news topics especially for anti-americans.
suddan and somali are still recording steady increase in their death toll yet we are more interested in the iraqi war. will it be right to say that those who are dying in the african regions are less than human beings or have american interested takken over our own interests.
afam and co, why is non of you commenting on the deaths of africans as it is evidence in the likes of somali, suddan, siera leone, burundi, rwanda and possibly zimbabwe? is the death of innocent people which you are all against in iraq and afghanistan different from what we have in africa or will it be right to say that the dying africans are guilty and deserve death?
we are born and living in a continent full of troubles yet other peoples' problems have overtaken our minds. is it possible for us to come home and look into our problems and possibly tackle them rather than decieving ourselves with america, this america that.
if we don't accept the greatness of america,, why are we always following their issues. people here are celebrating the fall of dollars even without knowing the implications in their own personal lives and businesses but the simple question here is will an ordinary purge reduce a cow to goat's size and the answer remains no.
america is in trouble but does that bring their problem to our levels? NO. we are still far deep in trouble with everyone feelling less concern.
Politics › Re: Senate Rejects Transfer Of Bakassi To Cameroun by chidichris(m): 12:39pm On Nov 24, 2007
yewa-man,
i have interest in two topics that you have raised here,
1. senate cannot make single decission for nigeria- who will make the single decission? Obj i guess?
2. bakassi does not belong to nigeria- then who is the owner? cameroun? how?

am not challanging ur opinions rather i want to know. are there other stories behind bakassi apart from the issue of Gowon giving it to them to block the biafrans from using it as an operational root during the biafran civil war?

did obj seek the consent of the senate when he handed over the land to cammeroun or were u not aware he was doing everything possible to get the consent of the international communities in his inordinate ambition to succeed himself via third term?

what if Ojukwu had accepted china's conditions to help biafra then, will cammeroun stand china? what if biafra happens to get the independent she is struggling for? will cameroun say someone else (nigeria) gave out something(land) belonging to another person(biafra). is it possible that nigeria will take a land belonging to togo and give it to ghana.
it was a war stragtegy used by gowon to get the help of cammeroon but if biafra finally succeeds, i bet u, they will regain bakassi even if the senate fails now.
Politics › Re: Ten Most Wanted Nigerians by chidichris(m): 12:07pm On Nov 24, 2007
my dear, you can address them as the ten most admired looters in nigeria but you can still make the list 11 by adding Bode George.
on the other hand, i like your list as this represents the list of the most corrupted nigerians that is if you add Bode George.
they are the robbers and they are the leaders. they are the managers of aso rock. they are still the fighters of corruption in nigeria.
the complicacy on the war on corruption lies in their hands.
they represent everything nigeria stands for corruption wise.
Politics › Re: State House Spends 1.34 Million Per Week On Food by chidichris(m): 3:53pm On Nov 23, 2007
they are the same people. i am not seeing any form of transperancy that is different from what had.
i am only patient because people are saying yar adua needs time and i want to accept that because he never intended been president so he can take his time.
the adeniyi of a man is only telling nigerians what they want to hear and doing what he and his group want to do.
which house wife will ask money for house up-keeps and at the same time telling the husband that she has only spent 30% of what he gave her the last time.
this is another way of telling nigerians that they are the new and suitable central bank of nigeria where the fg reserves or accounts are kept.
Politics › Re: In Support Of James Ibori by chidichris(m): 8:04am On Nov 23, 2007
efcc if well interpreted, is mearnt for the betterment of nigeria and not a group.
this war must be for everyone and not just the selected few.
the idea of going after minor thieves while the federal criminals are there still keep nigeria where they are and that is why the war is not reflecting in our economy.
if for instance, efcc has presecuted 100 politicians since inception, i am here to tell u that just one politician can offer more than what the 100 have offered.
efcc knows who they are but what we don't know is what they are waiting for.
if only abacha was that productive among other presidents, then multiply abacha's loots by 4 and tell us what we as a people will have.
the issue of kalu this ibori that is decieving. the big fishes are there and are still encouraging more loots because the tag untouchables are still on their neck and we are here celebrating a pee nut from minor criminals who are used as excape goats.
a well taken kick on the stomach of obj will force a vomit of unbelievable cicumstances which nigeria will benefit from.
who is praising efcc for alams when we had more than 36 govs who committed the same crime? what exactly is the bases for persecuting govs and presidents.
most people who looted during obj's regime are still king makers or do i need to mention the names of andy uba, bode george, tony annenih and the longer lists of looters.
did marwa not refund some loots in the eve of his presidential ambition and why is he still among our leaders?
it is all jokes
Politics › Re: End Of US-dollars? by chidichris(m): 7:48am On Nov 23, 2007

Politics › Re: Bank Robbery In Lagos, About 75mins Ago by chidichris(m): 7:38am On Nov 23, 2007
afam has good points in the camara issues but if i may ask, will the camaras and the remote control that will save the images work with light or what?
that is the advance countries's advantage over us but there must be electricity before the camaras can be effective.
this will now take us back to the issue of doing first thing first. camaras before electricity is like putting a round peg in a square hole.
the bible said, seek first the kingdom of God and other things shall be added unto it.
nigeria shld learn to seek power supply and other things that go with development will surely find their ways into nigeria.
the idea of banning imported goods will not worth it if our indigenious companies can produce quality goods at relatively lower prices rather than producing lower qualities at higher prices compare to foriegn goods.
nigerian gov knows the truth but they are still hiding from it. how can we buy goods made in nig at higher prices when foreign goods with better qualities are cheaper, impossible hence the need to force us buy them by banning imported goods but how many of our leaders are using locally manufactured goods?
crime most times are committed in the dark and most of the modern day security gardget are electronics hence the ultimate need for electricity.
the police in under-equiped. the system is corrupt, the gov is not helping matters as the unemployment rate keeps growing day by day, so why won't crime continue to grow?
unfortunately, nobody is caring about the number of lives we are loosing to robbers, accidents etc as a result of the gov policies.
aso rock has become so polluted that armenitions are been imported on daily bases by the same politicians who are stealing public funds. our robbers most of whom are yet to cross the boarders of nig, are using more sophisticated weapons than the national security agents and nobdoy is ask why and how?
it is obvious that nig police had on several occassions intercepted loads of illegal weapons but wonderful telephone calls will always quench the matters with the police man in charge of the matter transfered to one remote area while his boss will take over the case file for good.
even if the camaras are there, as long as aso rock remains the same no positive outcome will be expected of them.
we have believe that most of the crimes in nig are not just accidental, they are mostly planned from a high seat to the executors so we won't be surprised that most of our big time politicians are ring leaders of the common robbers.
i still think we are in a deeper shit

mamajama,
i can't really place ur sense of reasoning.
is it not obvious that ribadu was on a selective duty and will it be a surprise that the preasure within and outside nigeria can pursue him to have a sense of re-thinking.
we know the east and west blocks and at anytime ribadu lays his hands on any loyalist, nigerians will know be informed that the role of oposition in every democratic setting is to serve as a watch dog on the gov in other words the condemination of gov policies most times make the gov to sit up.
i wonder the kind of human being u are, if we don't complain, how will ribadu know that we are observing his partialities?
mind u, non of us is happy with looters but let there be equal justice.
if obj was unable to arrest or investigate ibb, it means he has a hidden agenda. if ribadu is yet to probe, chris uba, andy uba, bode george, tony annenih, etc, then we have our doubts.
whenever the wind game becomes free for all, we will be back here to same the same but for now, i am here to question the april polls and federal contracts from 1999 till date. what happened to the gazzeted case of atiku in line with financial misappropriation of pdtf. what about the floating accounts. how much was the anual salary of obj and then multiply it by 10 instead of 8. if he has other businesses running while he was president, then let us know the differences between that and the case of operating foriegn account alleged against kalu,
someone must be able to explain the differences between the case of money laundary as it concern alams and andy uba and why is efcc not saying anything yet?
Politics › Re: My Heart Goes Out For Yar'adua by chidichris(m): 10:09am On Nov 22, 2007
Truequest,
am not doubting ur belief but am saying he is almost spending six months as the president of nigeria and i do not know ur bases for judgement.
pls tell him to unfold his programmes for nigeria and nigerians as we are tired of regrets after tenure like obj regreted his inability to restore electricity in nigeria.
people who want to rule shld have programmes so that as soon as they become leaders they will emback on them not wasting years thinking what to do as if you become a leader by mistake,
abacha tried, ibb tried, obj tried and yar adua is trying so when are we going to get leaders who will not try but hit the hammer at the head of the nail.
why are we having all these people who are trying? the resources are there and all we need to have is a year free of corruption and nigeria and nigerians will stop trying and be like other countries with enough humand natural resources.

Ibori and others have murdered sleep and doeserve no sleep.
the little support ibori and his group are getting so far is because of the believe people have that efcc is one sided in her war on corruption. assuming we will wake up one morning and see obj and co on the dock, we will pray that all our past leaders be made to over pay the price of their sins until future leaders know that politics is not a bed of roses.
if the political events in nigeria in the past eight years will be brought to book, we will all accept here that all from councillors to the president performed below per and deserve a permanent place in the kirikiri maximum prisons

disable obj today and there will not be adedibu.
where was adedibu during the reigns of idiagbon/buhari, babangida and abacha? the popularity of thugs were made to manifest when a prisoner was made the president of nigeria.
the coming of obj was the revivival of thugry in the political arena of nigeria and since then, tauts have been the decission makers at different levels of gov.
a tuat president who could tell nigerians that an election was going to be a do or die affair. a president who could ask oyo people to tolorate and manage adedibu for he is too old to be reformed. a president who could accept that chris uba confessed to him that anambra election was rigged by him and yet went ahead and made him member board of trustees.

in iran two teenagers were hanged for practicing homosexuality and usa condemed the gov yet fools like you were asking what the matter was with usa in iran. last month, a nigerian studying in saudi arabia was sentenced to six months in prison for helping a sick old woman who was not related to him.

Politics › Re: Nigeria Power Problem - Why Energy Conservation Is A Must by chidichris(m): 1:19pm On Nov 21, 2007
Afam,
like i said earlier on, we must have this power supply before we start thinking about conserving it.
there is no power supply in nigeria and that is the issue.
assuming everybody in nig has 2wts bulbs without other appliancies in their houses, can there be light when nepa is off.
in my village, it is a common experience that we used to have quarter current then which cannot serve the bulbs talkless of other things so how can one manage in such situation.
let there be light and once the officials are not corrupt, everybody will be forced by monthly bills to shape their useage.
who will be interested in managing power supply when you pay the same amount wether u use it or not because their is no computerized billing systems of which those who are connected to the nepa officials will surelly use the services only to end up paying little or nothing at the end of the day.

i am really interested in becoming involved. we have suffered enough. all the people we voted in from 1999 till date are all money men, stinkingly rich and financially they are made so efcc has a lot of works to do especially at the federal levels.
now that efcc has the opportunity, i suggest they go straight for the big fishes to get the big funds and later on, anybody can go after the small fishes for the small funds.
ribadu shld go for people like el-rufai for sharing gov houses and he will surely lead them to more secret places but if they insist on ibori kalu issues, i will still see them as jokers as our major problems remain the federal thieves.

to me, am yet to see any outstanding action from the yar adua led administration.
in the first instance, all these govs that were removed by the tribunal, who aided their efforts of rigging the elections and what punishments have been melted to them?
we have an electorial body that decieved all nigerians with the orders of obj so if someone is out to do the just let INEc come out in the open and tell nigerians what really transpired.
chris uba of anambra confessed to rigging NGige into power and Ngige was removed and nothing was done to the man who did the rigging so how do we discourage people who would like to rig in future?
Iwu and his group are supposed to pay the price of decieving the citizens of nigeria and the man in charge of gov shld be made to explain things to nigerians because he announced before hand that the election was going to be a do or die affairs.
if all these electorial fraudstars are not punished and banned, they will still come back to win the same election and nothing will happen.
i think, yar adua is putting up a movie star qualities that can only be compared to such stars as pete edochie and osuofia otherwise, pdp has a lot of explainations to make on the excess parade of dangerious weapons in nigeria today which we all know are products of elections(do or die affairs).
how can a professor(iwu) behave in such a cheap manner that an okada man would not like to get involved in? iwu and all his relatives is supposed to be jailed for defrauding nigerians of their voting rights and financial misappropriations.

mandela said if iraq is attacked, oil price will be 1 million per barrel so what? to avoid oil price going up, anybody can do anything he likes and get away with it?
what has mandela said in the Zimbabwe situation or does that not worth comenting on?
everybody was against the inversion of iraq yet the iran president was the first to congratulate the iraqi court over the death sentence passed on saddam. who is decieving who?
while abacha was the president of nig, he will always say, nigerians can handle their problems and we all saw abacha's 2 million march. was that not evidence enough to show how an imcumbent can influence the people's behaviour?
if you are all for real, tell me the best way to examine a country without a single anti gov media. look at nig, no matter what the situation is, we are still have the opportunity to say our minds no matter our angles of observation.
if mandela has a vail in his eye(zimbabwe issue), how good is he going to be removing other peoples' vails(iraq) or are we all saying those dying on daily bases in zimbabwe are goats or are we saying the people of zimbabwe do not deserve help.
a look at america and what many call bush's madness is a campaign against 100 years of leadership of a particular person, a life leadership position of a particular person with or without the people's consent.
abacha was out to make the world believe that nigerians wanted him to stay but in reality, were nigerians ready for his continous stay as the president? what does it take for a man to rule for at least eight years and give room for a change? we all saw obj and his gimmicks of third term agenda and that was the case of saddam winning 100% in all his elections but if we must ask, did jesus christ himself had 100% support from the people what more an ordinary human being.
no matter how good a leader is change is important as no man is perfect. people get bored easily with a particular way of life and in nigeria, we always get a sigh of relief whenever there is a change in gov and by so doing, we will surely meet our God sent leader.
clinton was good yet he left, bush is bad and he will soon leave for a different people and a different ideology.
afam, in your last two posts, i hailed u as a born again afam who has seen the light of truth but whatsoever is dragging u back to the muld will be rejected and resisted by all means.

UN has no right to go into any country over demostic crises. abacha used to call on the western world to stay clear because nigeria can take care of her problems. mugabe is stil saying zimbabwe can handle her problems if at all there is any. might amercia through un force herself into suddan, it is still this same group of people here that will turn arround to shout.
by the way, is suddan and zimbabwe stronger than africa as a whole? if no why can't other african countries rise up against them?
we always find a way to put blame our own madness on the westerners.
nigeria as the giant of africa shld be doing enough to ensure peace and harmony in africa even if we can't have that in nigeria.
Dear poster,
are you saying if it is within your reach, u will make nigeria a member of the security council even with the situation of things in nigeria?
i do hope u know the implication of been a member of the security council?
