Politics › PDP To Buhari: Your Comments On Illegal Migrants Insensitive by chieyine(op): 5:40pm On Sep 01, 2018
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP} says President Muhammadu Buhari’s statement to German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, that Nigerians caught up in their attempt to illegally enter Europe, are on their own, further exposes him as an insensitive leader, who cares less about the plights of his compatriots.

While the PDP does not, in anyway, support illegal migrations, our party holds that such does not warrant incendiary statement against our citizens by no less a person than the President; who should be seeking for ways to solve the problem.

The PDP notes that such statements by our President against Nigerians fuel violent attacks and inhumane treatment being meted out against our citizens abroad, including those with legitimate documents and engaged in lawful activities.

The party says that President Buhari has shown that he is not bothered that no fewer than 10,000 Nigerians died in the deserts between January to May 2017 alone, while trying to escape the economic hardship and escalated insecurity occasioned by his misrule.

Is it not disturbing to Mr President that reports by Nigerian Immigration Services showed that many more Nigerians have been trapped in detention and slave camps in various parts of the world?
Also, is it not an act of gross leadership failure that, in his outburst against Nigerians, President Buhari admitted that they left in search of “greener pastures”, yet he could not articulate any solution to mitigate the suffering his administration has unleashed on our nation in the last three years?

Mr. President knows he is the cause of the problem, yet he has no words of assurances for suffering Nigerians. Instead, he has continued to worsen the situation with unsavory statements against our nation and her citizens whenever he is before an international audience.
If President Buhari is not condemning our youths as lazy and lovers of freebies, he is disparaging our women as inconsequential or demarketing our nation to investors as corrupt.
The PDP further holds that it is the duty of the President, as elected leader of government, to pursue the fundamental human rights of his citizens , as well as find solution to the problems that is pushing Nigerians to adopt illegal migration, irrespective of the huge risks, as option forsurvival.

Moreover, if the Buhari administration and the APC had not wrecked our once
robust economy, Nigerians would not be seeking for greener pastures in other lands.
Furthermore, the PDP laments that in another exhibition of incompetence, President Buhari could not articulate any strong response to the economic proposals brought by the German leader, thereby squandering our nations opportunity of benefiting from her visit.

It has therefore become clearer that there is no way our nation can survive another four years under a leadership such as the Buhari-led APC administration, hence the determination by Nigerians to rally on the platform of the repositioned PDP to throw up a
competent President to effectively pilot the affairs of our nation, come 2019.

The rationality behind him not accepting electronic payment , that I do not know and i can't say anything unless I hear from the two doctors u met.
There must be a reason.
Two doctors can't just reject electronic payment just like that.

But in handling emergencies, it is only the teaching hospitals that can comfortable handle emergencies.
As the name implies Emergencies.
We do not have all capturing health insurance scheme and those doctors have family to feed.
They might not be ready to attend to emergencies of such magnitude, increase the number of deaths the hospitals have recorded this year.

Politics › Full Details Of The PACT Agreement By Oby Ezekwesili by chieyine(op):
Former minister of finance and co-convener of BBOG have given us an insight into how the voting went and how Fela Durotoye clinched the coveted price of being the winner.

Though it was cut short by Kingsley Moghalu rejecting the result and starting in clear terms that he will contest for the Office of the President to the dismay of the public.

According to Oby Ezekwesili who was invited to monitor the whole process who stated on her twitter timeline.

Today, a group of Presidential Aspirants under the acronym of PACT- Presidential Aspirants Coming Together held a Voting among themselves to decide their Consensus Candidate. They invited me to be an OBSERVER.
I observed their process and reported the outcome of their Votes

But after Kingsley Moghalu rejected the outcome of the selection process, Madam Oby Ezekwesili has taken her time to write about everything that occurred during the meeting.

The PACT – Presidential Aspirants Coming Together had thirteen Aspirants at their Opening today. They did inform the Media and audience in the hall, ahead of their voting process, that Sowore and four other Aspirants had moved on at different time since they launched their initiative.

Those thirteen that were there today including Moghalu Kingsley and Fela Durotoye made lofty statements of their collective vision to go together and vote among themselves, one Consensus Candidate. Before they signed their MOU, Ahmed Buhari and Aliyu quietly walked away making the numbers Eleven.

The eleven then finalized their Memoranda of Understanding and signed before voting among themselves: Kingsley Moghalu; Thomas-Wilson Ikubese; Fela Durotoye; Dare Fagbemi; Mathias Tsado; Ayodele Favor Oluwamuyiwa Victor Ani-Laju; Godstime Sidney Iroabuchi; Clement Jimbo; Elishama Ideh; Felix Nicholas .

The eleven presidential aspirants in the first stage of the process, voted for any one of their ten co-aspirants.
Two voted for Moghalu Kingsley, two voted for Fela Durotoye, two voted for Mathias Baba Tsado, one for Ideh, one for Iroabuchi, one for Ikubese, one for Favor Olumuyiwa, one for Fagbemi.

Thus consistent with the Process they agreed among themselves, Moghalu Kingsley got two votes, Fela Durotoye got two votes and Tsado got two votes became qualified as the three top contenders for the second stage voting. They agreed that the three aspirants would recuse themselves for their eight co-aspirants to Vote.

The eight co-aspirants became seven when Nicholas Felix quietly left but it did not stop the three top candidates – Moghalu Kingsley, Fela Durotoye and Mathias Tsado from continuing with the Process.

So, the seven remaining co-aspirants voted: Durotoye got four votes, Moghalu got three votes and Tsado got zero vote.
They all rose & hugged.

Presidential Aspirant Kingsley Moghalu has pulled out from the earlier PACT Agreement in which Fela Durotoye emerged victorious.
They invited Independent Observers to witness the voting process.

Information just got to Naija Politico that Kingsley Moghalu has decided not to be bound by the result.
He stated on his twitter timeline
I am firmly in the race for President of Nigeria in 2019I wish to inform members of my “To Build A Nation” (TBAN) movement, the Kingsley Moghalu Support Organisation (KIMSO) nationwide, the Kingsley Moghalu Volunteer Force, Youth for Kingsley (Y4K), Women for Kingsley (W4K), Kingsley Moghalu Disciples,…
… the Young Progressive Party (YPP) and my other supporters nationwide and in the diaspora that I am pressing ahead with my plan to contest the 2019 presidential election.
This is despite the arrangement for a consensus candidate among the young presidential aspirants under the aegis of Presidential Aspirants Coming Together (PACT), which today produced an outcome that has left many Nigerians expressing surprise and disappointment.
The reasons I have pulled out of the PACT arrangement are as follows:

The arrangement had unraveled even before the final selection of the consensus candidate.
Only seven aspirants participated in the final voting out of the original 18 aspirants, mainly because many of the aspirants had withdrawn from the process.
Four candidates who were present in the meeting this morning withdrew from the process even while the voting process was ongoing. Therefore, PACT did not produce a true consensus candidate.
Clause 13 of the PACT Memorandum of Understanding asserts the supremacy of the constitutional rights of the aspirants to pursue their political aspirations.
I therefore have chosen to continue without distraction to pursue my vision in the presidential race for 2019 in the national interest and in deference to the overwhelming outpouring of support for my candidacy from all parts of Nigeria.I will remain focused on the objective of providing a competent leadership that will help unite our country and build a nation, wage a decisive war against poverty and unemployment, and restore respect for Nigeria in the society of nations.
It is my humble and well-considered view that the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria requires competence and experience in these three vital areas.
Thank you.

The new NEC members assumed duties at very critical and challenging times. With General Elections coming in early 2019 any political party worth its salt must get its internal dynamics right, and march as a team towards a decisive time as that of major elections in a country.

Today, we are meeting to look at some major decisions that will get us ready for an excellent performance at the polls next year, starting with party primaries at various levels.

I urge you all to ensure that decisions taken here today are those that will avail the good of the party, and ones that meet the yearnings & expectations of our teeming members and supporters nationwide. They look up to us for guidance, & we must not disappoint or fail them.
Let me congratulate the current leadership of our party, led by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. The team emerged at a most turbulent time, when there were rumours and speculations of massive defection, in a way to possibly rock the very foundations of the party.
Despite conciliatory attempts to keep the house together, some members were hell-bent on pulling down the roof. They left, plotting to go along with scores of people, thus upsetting the apple cart.

But due to the yeoman’s work by the new party leadership, the exit barely made a dent in our superstructure, as they could not muster the figures they had envisaged to cause an upset, particularly in the two chambers of the National Assembly.
APC remains in control, and increases by the day, with quality people joining our fold. I say congratulations to the new NEC members.

Hope is rekindled in our hearts that we will give our country purposeful leadership that will improve the quality of lives of the people.

We will continue to secure the country, fight graft, and position the economy in a way that jobs can be provided for our youths, and give them a future and a hope.

We will fulfill all the promises we have made to Nigerians. We are fulfilling them, and will continue to serve with heart and might, to build a nation where peace, justice, and prosperity shall reign.

As we stand at the threshold of party primaries, I urge all and sundry to ensure that we play the game according to the rules.

Let us come out with free, fair, and credible primaries, which will be a precursor to free, fair, and credible General Elections next year. Let us shine the light through our primaries, and the rest of the country will find the way.

Our primaries must be in complete compliance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, the Electoral Act and above all the constitution of our great party, APC.

The times in which we are call for unity, harmony and togetherness. Let us all join hands to move the party forward. We must take our party to the next level, and I urge all and sundry to give support to our National Working Committee.

Thank you very much, God bless our party and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Politics › The Main Reason Kwankwaso Was Denied The Use Of Eagle Square by chieyine(op): 2:27pm On Aug 30, 2018
There have been public outcry against the Buhari led Federal Government over the refusal of Kwankwaso, a strong contender in 2019 Presidential over the use of Eagle Square.

Nigerians raised their voices over what they termed abuse of Power because same Eagle Square was used by Buhari in 2015 when he was contesting for the position of the President

In the letter signed by Usman Mukhtar Raji, and dated August 27, the management explained that they canceled the prior approval because the political event would disrupt the usual workflow of the Federal Secretariat.

The letter read, “We are sorry to inform you that the event can no longer hold on the said date because it is a political event and the 29th of August, 2018 happens to be a work day, as it would disrupt the usual workflow of the Federal Secretariat.

“We apologize for the oversight on our part to note the date in relation to the nature of the event. We regret every inconvenience caused by this.”

Naija Politico queried further and discovered that the said letter was not the reason for the cancellation and neither was it political witch-hunt as alleged by PDP through Atiku on his official twitter handle in which he said

The last minute cancellation of an approval granted Kwankwaso is unfortunate. On October 15, 2014, under the PDP led administration, then presidential aspirant; Buhari, declared for President at Eagle Square with no hindrance whatsoever. This was a work day.

The Senate President in the Person of Senator Bukola Saraki wrote on his twitter page,

The refusal to allow Senator Kwankwaso’s campaign to utilize Eagle Square for his declaration, despite an earlier approval, sends a wrong message about our democracy, particularly the tolerance level in our politics. Eagle Square belongs to all Nigerians.

APC which is the ruling party reacted to the said denial

Inability of a Presidential Aspirant to Use Eagle Square. We frown at mischievous attempts in some quarters to blame APC for the inability of a PDP presidential contestant to secure the Eagles Square for his declaration. We read in the media reasons given by facility managers of the Abuja International Conference Centre and Eagles Square not to allow campaigns in its facility on Wednesday to avoid disruption of work flow at the federal secretariat, the main hub of civil servants in Abuja. Hence the allegation is unnecessary and misplaced. We should not be dragged into a private transaction involving entities we have no business with. The 2019 Elections will not be won by cheap campaign ground antics but actual votes from the electorate who are wise and know who is working in their interest. Never again will we return governance to the hands of those that selfishly have held us back for years.

But the main reason that Kwankwaso was denied the use of Eagle Square dates back to January 29th 2016 when Dr Joe Abah, The Then Director General of Bureau of Public Service Reforms formally complained to Federal Capital Territory Administration about the noise pollution generated from the said Eagle Square

His Complaints were attended to evidenced by the Redeemed Christian Church of God not allowed to use Eagle’s Square.

The program was titled “Divine Encounter” led by Pastor E.A. Adeboye. It ran from January -October, 2016. The first(January) was held at the Eagle Square

And that Church event for February 2016 was moved to the National Stadium, and subsequently till October, 2016 it was the stadium.

In his tweets on 29th August, Dr Joe Abah wrote

In January 2016, as DG, I formally complained to FCTA that the noise from Eagle Square was a nuisance. FCTA agreed that there won’t be any large gatherings until after 4pm. Any contrary approval shouldn’t have been granted. I’ll be attacked for it but I’ll keep telling the truth. The applicant to use Eagle Square should have been told that, on a weekday, they can only use it for large gatherings after 4pm. They would then have a choice on whether to do it in the evening or use an alternative venue.

But why did they approve of it initially?

Was it as a result of corruption or to spite the government?

Who approved of it?

Has there been any other event there during working hours?

This is a question we seek answer to.

“lNEC did not budget N6 billion to feed the police.

There is no budget head for feeding the police in the INEC Election Budget.

What we do have is a budget head for feeding all election personnel on
election days and it covers all INEC permanent and ad hoc staff, presiding officers, supervisors, monitors, collation and returning officers and all security personnel on election duty includng the police, NSDC, lmmigration, Prison & NDLEA officers, etc numbering in excess of a million people. The estimated budget for this is more than 25% less than what is being bandied around and it covers all elections including bye elections, re runs, run offs

Politics › Aisha Yesufu Slams Buhari Over Adeosun Forged NYSC Certificate by chieyine(op): 11:10am On Aug 23, 2018
Aisha Yesufu, the co-convener of BringBackOurGirls, BBOG, advocacy group has condemned President Buhari over his claims on NYSC.

According to the Bring Back Our Girls Co-convener she questioned the integrity of Mr President.

“Many corpers died serving our Nation. Everyday Kemi Adeosun accused of forging her NYSC certificate continues to be in office is a dishonour to their sacrifice & a slap to the family they left behind Mr President sir where is thy integrity?”

This was in reply to President Buhari’s tweet concerning NYSC in which he stated that “One of the Sallah traditions I look forward to the most is the visit by Youth Corpers posted to Daura. I think the NYSC is one of the best things that has happened to Nigeria, because of the opportunity it gives young Nigerians to see and know different parts of the country.

Many of the Corps members posted to Daura are from southern Nigeria, and have never lived in or experienced this part of the country. For them to be brought to the desert or near the Sahel region is a difficult thing, but I have no doubt it will make a positive impact on Nigeria.
I welcomed them to my ancient town of Daura, and asked them to enjoy their service year, and the hospitality of the people. Regardless of where they’re from, Daura is also their home, and I hope that in the years to come they will look back to this time with fond memories.”

Why is the President turning a blind eye to certificate forgery involving a key member of his administration only to praise NYSC program of which the victim forged the certificate
