Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who won the PDP presidential primaries convincingly have been branded corrupt and all sort of names by the opposition party APC.
Alhaji Atiku decamped from PDP prior to 2015 election and was never called corrupt till when he won PDP primaries.

AN OPEN LETTER TO DR. SAMSON OLASUPO, PRESIDENT OF CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA.

Dear Dr. Samson Olasupo Adeniyi Ayokunle,
I greet you in the name of whatever you hold sacred. It's definitely not Jesus Christ. Mammon, commonly known as money, is my first guess.

I have chosen to write you this letter, believing in my heart, based of your utterances, that you have strayed from the path of righteousness, peace and love; paths, ordained by God for his sons to follow. That is, if you were ever on that path.

I do not really understand what you, as the leader of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), stand to gain from constantly misinforming Nigerians. You keep harping on the lie that appointments made by President Buhari and VP Osinbajo, were lopsided.

It has been the case that each time appointments are made, CAN would not bother to check the merits of such appointments nor the constitutional rights of Mr. President to make such appointments. It does not bother you whether the appointees are qualified or not. The prerogative of CAN, under you, Sir, and for selfish reasons, is that members of your religious organisations only, are appointed as a way of boosting your income throw tithes and offerings that accrue to you.

Vice President Osinbajo, a Christian Pastor himself, has severally, debunked the myth, the lies and fabrications about and around appointments coming from your angle. Each time, he does it with facts and figures. And then you wait for the next appointment to regurgitate the same evil sentiments.

But you Sir, President of CAN, Dr Samson Olasupo, continues to misinform and to incite animosity against a government that is reaching out to the poorest in our society, where figures show there are more Christians in government and where your Christian "brother" is the number two man.

We all know that there's no correlationship between performance based appointments and religion nor ethnicity. If there was, Ex-Pres. Goodluck Jonathan, who crawled from one christian prayer house to the other, would have been the best President Nigeria ever produced.

Under him, funds allocated for federal projects in Christisn dominated South were looted as the funds for the muslim dominated North. Part of the loot, happily received by people like you in the name of tithes and offerings. Please show Nigerians where you condemned the heist and that act of treachery perpetuated by your affiliate party, the PDP.

It's on record that this government has fulfilled the quota system and the federal character requirements in federal appointments. Christians who have been appointed into this government, know that the budget for their MDAs, are for the people of Nigeria, and not for tithes and offerings. They are real christians who fulfil their religious obligations to their churches without dipping their hands into the treasury. They will not shortchange the people of Nigeria in the exercise of their national calling in order to swell the greedy purse of men who pretend to be God.

My expreince over the last four years has been that many Nigerians who approach government functionaries want something for themselves alone. Your role as a Christian(?) Leader is to educate our people in selflessness and preach harmony, love and peace, attributes Jesus and Pastor Kumuyi of the Deeper Life Bible Church are known for.

President Buhari is ALL about the common man: the weak, the poor and the vulnerable. He will continue to defend and protect our treasury for the benefit of all Nigerians, from people like you who hide behind the cloak of religion to advocate selfish interests and corruption.

The problems of our nation are corruption, tribalism and religion, thanks to unrighteous preachers. These problems are key in hampering Nigeria’s development. And you are fuelling these problems by what you say and what you fail to do.

Misinformation is a fancy word for lies and bearing false witnesses. We all know what the working document of CAN, the Bible, says about lies, bearing false witnesses and liars.
Proverbs 19:9 says,
"A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish."

The bible frowns seriously at lies and deliberate misinformation. According to the bible, the righteous hates falsehood, but the wicked brings shame and disgrace. You, Sir, can now see that you are not a righteous man as you love falsehood and strive to disseminate it.

The bible, goes on to define the genealogy of liars. John 8:44 says to you:

"You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He (the devil ), was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies."

The bible did not stop there, it says that the hottest part of hell, is reserved for liars. Chew on that.

If you have a deep rooted hatred for Muslims, go on your knees and ask God to forgive you. It is God who decides what religion we take by causing people to be born into specific families. If its the government you hate, you can start by trying to love VP Osinbajo who is also Christian.

You have continued to open your mouth and allow your predecessor to speak through you. You believe and have voiced that Nigeria's leadership of today is not the best. Well, PRESIDENT BUHARI did not emerge through the barrels of the gun but through the expression of the popular will of the people of Nigeria. Nigerians who elected him, adjudged him the best. Howrver, that time is here again with us. Please present your best candidate and let's see how he/she measures up to the one you despise.

Listen, Nigerians are at their wits end with pretenders to the throne of God, Christians and Muslims alike, like you. They want to be left alone to continue to live as a people. Your role is to support them by emulating Jesus Christ in preaching love of ones neighbour. Since you appear to be far from Jesus, try to emulate Christian leaders like Rev. Mbaka and Pastor Kumuyi. That's how you can be a great Christian leader.

Pres. Buhari is a selfless leader too and worthy of emulation. So , RESPECT YOURSELF. Henceforth, let all your speech be always full of grace, seasoned with salt.... (Col. 4:6)

I wanted to take this moment to congratulate the members of my party for such amazing conduct and a refreshing display of democratic values during the Lagos State primaries yesterday. Also, let me extend my special thanks to the leaders, agents, coordinators, delegates and most especially my co-contestant, Engr. Deji Doherty. Even in battle, one thing remained clear: And it is the fact that we both loathe the consistent oppression being dealt out to the people of Lagos by a ruling class of two decades, but more importantly, we both share a deep optimism in the ideas that we possess to bring about real transformation to this great state. Ideas that are aimed at driving unprecedented development across all facets of life for ALL Lagosians, not just a few select elite. Ideas that focus on the standard of living of the individual as the true measure of wealth of our state as opposed to the mere accumulation of revenue. Ideas that look to the energy and ingenuity of the next generation - the so-called connected generation - as a huge reserve of untapped business minds capable to creating strategic regional pockets that would benefit not just Lagos but Nigeria in the short to medium term. I sincerely look forward to working with you all during the 2019 elections as we journey across the length and breath of this state presenting our case to the great people of Lagos.

To my followers, well-wishers and critics, let me start off by saying that the burden of proof that we can attain a "Lagos of our dreams", is a responsibility that we all must carry irrespective of our tribe or creed, socio-economic status or affiliations, age or gender, if at all we're to accomplish the improbable. We might disagree from time to time on approach or positions but what we cannot afford to do this time is to sit on the sidelines, hands folded and not engaged. We must find ways to participate and contribute to the process of making government work for your own interests and aspirations and that of your families.

For me, that burden of responsibility led me down the path of politics over 25-years ago. It did not start out of a necessity but rather a sense of obligation that if as a generation we fail to stand up for things that we truly believe, then who are we to complain when things go south. I recall that in 1993, shortly after the annulment of the Chief MKO Abiola and Bashir Tofa elections, I, alongside other likeminded contemporaries under the guise of 'Concerned Professionals' began to wade into politics using activism - working collectively with other organisations to mount pressure on government to return to principles that oversee democratic rule. Even though at the time I felt like a fish out of water being young and inexperienced, I understood, in a somewhat intuitive way, that such a time demanded my participation, so I embraced the call. As the saying goes, "the rest is history." A few men and women decided to stand up in a period when it was unpopular and quite frankly dangerous. They did so to bring about a change that consequently transitioned us into the era of democracy that we partake in today. If there was anything that I learnt then that still holds true now, it is that no one entity is capable of single-handedly driving the sort of change that we so desperately need today. It would have to take a collective - a collective of leaders, followers, citizens, professionals, artisans, young and old people, men and women working hand-in-hand to make government more accountable and governance more people-focused.

When I lost the gubernatorial elections in 2015, I went back to those basics understanding that the solution was not to look outward and decamp to greener pastures but to look inward knowing that if we are to succeed in the future, it would require us to create a stronger collective of communities within and outside the walls of our party. We would need to find smarter ways to attract a new demographic of youth, women, professionals, and even non-voters. We would need to commit to long and sometimes uncelebrated months of grunt work needed to help recalibrate our perception of what everyday Lagosians really need. So I committed myself to this working within the party structure to bring about reforms that targeted the participation of youth and women, building linkages and networks and engaging in personal mentoring endeavours to help shape a new generation of young leaders through an initiative called 'What's at Stake?'. I even ran for national chairman of my party with the hope that this might help speed up some of these reforms.

Today, I sense an urgency of purpose as we are presented with yet another opportunity to make a difference in our great state. It is clear to me that Lagos needs more help than ever. But this time, the intervention wouldn't just come from top-down but also from bottom-up knowing that the electorate, not any one man, would have to decide where we go from here as a people. This election is not just another popularity contest rather it is a clear choice between two ideologies: one that enslaves and puts the interest of one man over many or another that, at its core, seeks to meet the yearnings of the greater good of the people of Lagos. Only time will tell what path we'll follow.

That said, it's my honour to be on this journey again, and I look forward to hearing your stories, interacting with you and working together to bring about the emergence of the Lagos of our dreams.

ACCEPTANCE SPEECH BY PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI, PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AND PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OF THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS IN THE 2019 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the Chairman and members of the Convention Committee for planning and conducting this convention. The same appreciation goes to the chairmen of National and State Executive Committees of our party. Thank you very much for doing a difficult job well.

I would like to pay tribute to Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande the first chairman of our great Party and to Chief John Oyegun who led the party until this year and all the APC Governors.

The result of the presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress this time is different because I am the only candidate. I thank all other eligible candidates who deferred to me in the interest of our party unity and over-all national stability.

Fellow party members, it is with a deep sense of humility that I stand before you today to accept the nomination of our party, the All Progressives Congress to be its candidate and flag-bearer in the 2019 presidential elections.

We have arrested and checked the slide to anarchy on the security and economic fronts.

Boko Haram is reduced to dastardly attacks on soft targets. Normalcy has returned to much of North East and neighbouring North West states.

Our currency has stabilised. Our reserves are now $44 billion, a lot higher than we had in 2015.

Power generation capacity has reached 8,000 megawatts against less than 4,600 when we came into office. As we invest in new power generation infrastructure we are strenuously working to address the legacy deficiencies and challenges of transmission and distribution networks across the country.

We are executing Independent Power Projects in 9 Federal Universities to deliver uninterrupted power supply and we intend to expand to a total of 37 Universities

We have revived most of our capacity to produce fertilisers locally.

The Government through its Anchor Borrowers Programme and other incentives has empowered more than 2 million farmers to go back to the land. We now produce 80% of our rice requirements. Many farmers who nearly lost hope are now millionaires.

We have introduced primary school feeding programmes to encourage attendance and enrolment. We also have introduced the conditional cash transfer to help small and medium businesses, the men, the women and young people who drive our economy.

We have repaired and are repairing major arterial roads and starting major railway projects with the aim of linking the 36 states with efficient road and rail transportation systems.

We are attacking corruption head-on. With international support we are recovering Nigerian stolen assets and applying them to infrastructural developments.

Today the corrupt are facing the wrath of law and leakages have been generally blocked.

Mr. Chairman, Your Excellencies, Members of the APC.

We can be proud of our achievements. CHANGE has come. Ladies and Gentlemen, fellow Nigerians, think how much PDP Governments earned between 1999 to 2015. Think what they did with it.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has reiterated that no single person can influence the outcome of the National Convention of the PDP holding in Port Harcourt.

In an interview with Naija Politico on Friday, Governor Wike said nobody no matter how influential can control the voting pattern of 36 States delegates and Abuja.

He said: "I have a right to vote as a delegate. But my influence is minimal. Those talking about this dont have the facts.

"Are you saying that as Governor of Rivers State, I will place a gun on the head of all delegates to vote a particular candidate.

"I cannot compel all the 14 governors to vote a particular aspirant. You mean you can change the views and opinions of all the states?" he said.

The governor said that he will work with other leaders to ensure that the National Convention is transparent and credible.

Governor Wike also informed that credible intelligence indicate that APC has imported thugs into the state with the aim of disrupting the process.

"As at thursday, APC brought hoodlums to create an atmosphere of insecurity in Rivers State. It is not a mere allegation. We have it on good authority ", he said.

He said despite the plot of the APC, everything has been done to ensure that the National Convention ends successfully.

He noted that whoever emerges as the party's Presidential Candidate should team up with other leaders to sack the failed APC Federal Government.

The governor stressed that his interest is not in the outcome of the National Convention, but the outcome of the state

Police Attack: Nobody Can Cow Us -PDP.

...Says It Is Coasting to Victory, No Matter the Attacks

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) condemns as dastardly, unwarranted and unprovoked, today's unleashing of violence on our leaders, including the Senate President and state governors, by the Police.

The PDP however vows that no amount of attacks, aggression or acts of intimidation will deter it from confronting and dismantling the rigging machinery of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and coast to victory in 2019.

The whole world was shocked when the Police physically assaulted, fired teargas cannisters and violently dispersed our party leaders who were on peaceful protest to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, over the use of police by the APC to rig elections, particularly the September 22, 2018 Osun State Governorship election.

Acting on "orders from above", the Police assaulted our elected leaders, including our national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, Senate President Bukola Saraki, Ekiti Governor, Chief Ayo Fayose, our presidential aspirants, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, Bar. Kabiru Tanimu, Mallam Sule Lamido, among others.

This unwarranted attack has left no one in doubt that our Police has finally been turned into a militant wing of the APC, with direct orders to use force to repress opposition and turn our nation into a one party state.

It has also shown that the Police, under President Muhammadu Buhari's administration, has officially declared war on the opposition and there is no way our safety is guaranteed under the current police leadership.

If the Police, which ought to protect the people, the law and the democratic process, could show such violent aggression on notable leaders, then it can no longer be trusted with the welfare and safety of regular citizens.

One can only imagine the level of violence that is being daily unleashed on our citizens by the APC- control Federal Police.

It is completely reprehensible that the same APC leaders, Including President Buhari, who were allowed to freely hold protests under the PDP administration, could now turn around to approve police brutality and aggression against the opposition.

We know that the essence of such attacks is to instil fear and siege mentality on the people so as to cow them to submission ahead of the 2019 general election.

The PDP therefore calls on all Nigerians and the international community to rise up in direct condemnation of APC's use of state apparatus of Power against law abiding citizens and groups.

On our own part, the PDP lists this particular violent attack as a wake up call to all Nigerians to rise in defense of our democracy.

This country belongs to all of us and the PDP will never allow anybody, no matter how highly placed, to in any way whatsoever, intimidate or subjugate us ahead of the 2019 elections.

We are now determined to face all force of intimidation until we return our nation to the path of rule of law, good governance and national cohesion.

PDP Presidential Aspirant and Sokoto State Governor, Rt Hon Aminu Tambuwal has declared that immediate steps must be taken to set the country on the path of development, following the abysmal performance of the APC Federal Government.

Speaking at the Government House Port Harcourt on Monday during a consultative visit to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the Sokoto State Governor noted that the country is presently hanging on a cliff due to the failure of the Buhari administration.

He said: "We should be able to bring back our country from the brink. As it is today, this country is on a cliff and there is a need for us to pull it back ".

Tambuwal said that Nigeria requires a leadership that has the capacity to unite the country, introduce fresh ideas in leadership and enhance the development of the nation.

"We are all aware that this country has never been this divided. This country has never been this polarised. There is a need for us, not only to have a 21st leadership, but a leadership that is Pan-Nigeria.

"We need a leadership that understands the complexities of this country", he said.

The PDP Presidential Aspirant noted that experiences garnered as a Former Speaker of the House of Representatives and the incumbent Sokoto State Governor have equipped him to offer Nigeria the right leadership it requires.

He urged PDP members to nominate him to fly the party's flag during the 2019 Presidential Election, pointing out that he has the capacity to lead the party to victory.

Tambuwal informed that when elected he will work with all stakeholders to review the constitution of the country to accomodate the aspirations of different sections of the country.

On security, the Presidential Aspirant said he will deploy security and fresh ideas to improve the security of the nation.

Responding, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike advised all Presidential Aspirants to conduct themselves in a decorous manner to advance the interest of the PDP.

He said: "Tell Nigerians what you want to do for them. Sell yourself. Do not be desperate. If it is God's will, nobody can stop you".

He said if at the end of the day he loses out of the nomination of the party, he should support whoever emerges in the interest of the party.

The Rivers State Governor noted that Tambuwal represents one of the Presidential Aspirants with the capacity to lead and revive the country.

Governor Wike said without a review of the revenue sharing formula of the country, states will not be able to pay the new minimum wage.

The governor thanked the leadership of the PDP for approving the hosting of National Convention in Port Harcourt, saying that the convention will positively impact the state's economy.

“We are making progress in the fight against corruption” Lie. According to Transparency International, Nigeria is more corrupt today than 2015 and made her worst ever performance on TI’s CPI, moving 12 steps backward from 136 to 148

Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello on Friday led members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to cast their vote and affirm President Muhammadu Buhari as the party's standard bearer at the 2019 presidential elrction.

The Governor and other 214 members of the party at Kontagora Central Ward, Kontagora Local Government area of the state unanimously affirmed their endorsement of the President as the candidate of the party.

Governor Sani-Bello while speaking to newsmen after the exercise noted that the party had only one aspirant who is also the sitting President but maintained that law still required that party members must affirm the sole candidate of the party.

"Though we have only one aspirant for the post of the President, who is incumbent, President Muhammadu Buhari but we still have to come to the ward to affirm him, party members came out with their membership cards, went through the lay down process and affirmed President Muhammadu Buhari as our candidate for the 2019 general elections".

According to him, "the most important thing worthy of note is the mode of primaries which we chose in the state. We adopted direct primaries and this is what we just did today and I am happy the process was well organized and peaceful".

He then appealed to party members to participate in the subsequent primaries elections to enable them choose the candidates of their choice and has called on aspirants to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship and accept the final results in the primaries.


Earlier, the Chairman, Central Ward, Alh. Lawal Abdullahi who conducted the election disclosed that out of the 579 membership cards received, 305 were accredited.
At the time of counting, 214 members affirmed their endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari as the party's Presidential candidate.

Professor Pat Utomi, a renowned Economists who picked APC Gubernatorial form in Delta state decried the high level of poverty associated with Delta State and the reason why he picked the gubernatorial form.
And according to him, Delta must rise again.

Over the past two years I have consulted with leaders and the rank and file of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State, the national leadership of our party, as well as other Deltans across the political divide.

After consultations with party leaders and Deltans across the political divide, I began a Delta Arise Series to bring some focus on the issues of the day and the way forward for Delta State.

Being a witness and also a recipient of complaints from various quarters that family members continue to die untimely due to accidents triggered by the hardly motorable state of Delta roads leaves me with a feeling of despondence.


The infrastructure challenges in Delta State dehumanizes our people, such that there is a plague of insecurity as Warri, like all other towns in the State fall into a pale of darkness after 7pm, yet it comes with gas flares.
Philosophically, I am diminished by the death of any human being& the misery of our people. Sadly, such diminishing of the dignity of man is commonplace in our State. This may be what propelled various groups to urge me to join the race in order to restore hope to our people.
Why is Delta State the domain of poverty in spite of such incredible endowments, human and material resources? How does a state go from being the shining light of Western Region, to one that poverty rules and desperation is etched unto the faces of citizens?
In the old Western Region which led Nigeria in innovation and people-oriented policies, the more admired entrepreneurs and civil servants were from the Midwest, out of which today's Delta State is derived.


Our state has lost its glory and its dignity, and it is now literally on its knees begging to be rescued from the rot of many years, which is the result of poor governance, leadership failure and the incompetence of successive administrations that turned its back on our people.
Delta State receives very huge allocations, studies show that the monies enter state coffers and bolt out. If the velocity of the money is such that it touches a few more people even briefly, prosperity will visit many presently poor and it will consolidate with the thriving few.
What is more, Delta state is already hugely indebted, thus mortgaging its future generations. And the state acts as though it is unaware of our level of indebtedness. Worse still, the state’s infrastructure is evidently in shambles.
With our current population growth rates, not creating job opportunities for our youths could mean that we would reap a whirlwind of anarchy. God forbid. But prayer is not enough. We must work as we pray. We must all take action now.
Our youths are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but of today, and they are our future. They should be appointed to play a role in administration. Creating job opportunities for our youths will be a priority of our administration.
We must end the era of self-serving leaders and bring about an undiluted focus on Purpose being the essence of public life, and not Power, as has been the case. Our people must be the reason for public service, and they must be at the heart of governance in Delta State.

My growth and development plans for Delta State, if given the opportunity to serve as Governor, will run on a 3-point agenda that encapsulates all of the key sectors:
• Ending Poverty
• Infrastructure development, and
• Empowering our Communities.
It is time to restore hope and dignity back to our people. As we look to a better future with new and brighter possibilities, I commit to providing the required leadership that will inspire all Deltans to be the best they can be. This is my new deal to all Deltans for a new Delta

We, Deltans & residents alike, must all work collectively towards a new future with zeal and determination, to bring about an administration in the state, with sincerity of purpose, a commitment to the common good of our people & a government that will always put our people first.


Delta must rise up again! Let us arise and push to redeem Delta State for ourselves, our children and for generations unborn.

The former Vice President and Presidential Aspirant in PDP spoke his mind concerning the Just Concluded Osun election. He said,
The result just declared today in Osun by the Independent National Electoral Commission in favour of the All Progressives Congress and its candidate is a travesty of justice. That was not democracy. That was a demonstration of tyranny.

The victory of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, was firmly established last week on Saturday the 22nd of September, 2018.

This so-called victory of the APC is not a democratic victory. Observers, both foreign and domestic, reported the brazen intimidation of voters and outright suppression of voting in PDP strongholds with even PDP agents physically prevented from being at the polling units.

These actions showed to the whole world that this unnecessary rerun, in polling units cancelled or voided by the INEC, was nothing more than a red herring, to distract attention and gain time, while the ruling party perfected strategies to pull a fast one on the electorate, as it has done today.

I wish to say to Senator Ademola Adeleke and the good people of Osun State that I stand with you today and tomorrow in your time of need. I will not be presumptuous to tell you what to do. But what I can tell you is that whatever you choose to do, I will be with you both in word and in action.

Furthermore, I call on the international community not to stand idly by while democracy is being trampled upon. Nigeria is a very unique nation. We are very strategic to Africa in terms of population and location. A destabilised Nigeria will destabilise Africa and this must never be allowed to happen.

Thus, the international community must intervene to ensure that what happened in Osun must be investigated, reversed and prevented from spilling over to other gubernatorial, legislative and national elections.

Finally, I call on Nigerians to be on guard. The APC has shown its hand. It is the leprous hand of a tyrant. Therefore we must be alert in future elections, for as Thomas Paine said “eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.

What the Governor knows How to do best is just self praising.
The number of banners praising the Governor in the state erected by Sycophants are 10times more than the projects carried out by the Governor.

The DHQ hereby draw the attention of the media and the general public to activities of fifth columnists whose only objective is to collaborate with enemies of our nation to prolong their own organizational interests.
The story/video is one of their many strategies targeted at breaking the cohesion and the fighting spirit of the troops.
It is a known fact that all over the world, the battlefront is not a playground. What differentiates soldiers from civilians is the ability to endure hard conditions and make sacrifices.
Same goes for accommodation at the battlefront as the soldiers are either on the move or in trenches. Accommodation where necessary, are makeshift and not expected to be luxurious. That is the reality and price of the Military profession. There is no easy way.
For those who may not know, there is no barracks in Sambisa forest and several other troops locations in the North East. Also, troops are promptly paid approved operational allowances aside other welfare and administrative arrangements.
Whereas there may be challenges in the battle-space which is normal, appropriate measures are being taken to address them.
The story is a failed attempt to distract the purposeful direction in the counter-terrorism fight. The Armed Forces is stating categorically here that its fighting spirit is indomitable and no amount of falsehood can distract us from fighting terrorism to a conclusive end.

Tension is currently sweeping through Ondo State following the interception of a truck load of 1550 ballot boxes expected to be used in the upcoming re – run Osun elections scheduled for this Thursday.
The transparent white ballot boxes were intercepted on the Akure – Ilesa road, 110 kilometres from the state capital, by state security operatives

The boxes were found in a 24 feet container trailer with registration number plate, Abuja XE794 ABJ driven by one Mohammed Abdullahi
The consignment according to Abdullahi, was destined for Osun State.

Information from eye witness reporters and citizens at the scene of the incident soon spread that the boxes were stuffed with thumb printed ballot cards.
To douse the tension, the police has confiscated the boxes in the presence of police, state security and INEC officials, reporters and representatives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Police Area Command head office Akure.
When contacted earlier on, Mr. Kayode Idowu, the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman said he is not yet aware of such development. Further attempts to contact him as since proved abortive as all his numbers has been switched off.
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck has been detained along with the truck pending when the state security personnel are able to determine the origin of the truck and subsequently fish out the master minds of such criminal acts

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is heading to the court to quash the illegal declaration of the September 22, 2018 Osun governorship election as inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (lNEC).
The party insists that the polls have already been concluded and results announced in all polling and the collation centers, thus bringing the exercise to its lawful conclusion and removing INEC powers to declare the election inconclusive.
Our electoral law is clear that once an election result is declared, INEC is bound to return a winner. INEC, in trying to play the card of the defeated All Progressives Congress (APC), contravened the law by refusing to announce a return, even when the declared results have thrown up a winner.
Section 69 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) states that inter-alia “in an election to the office of the President or governor whether or not contested and in any contested election to any other elective office, the result shall be ascertained by counting the votes cast for each candidate and subject to the provisions of sections 133, 134 and 179 of the constitution, the candidate that receives the highest number of votes shall be declared elected by the appropriate Returning Officer.”
Concurrently, Section 179 (4) (b) of the constitution directly prescribes that “a candidate for an election to the office of Governor of a State shall be deemed to have been duly elected where, there being two or more candidates – (a} he has the highest number of
votes cast at the election; and {b} he has not less than one-quarter of all the votes cast in
each of at least two-thirds of all the local government areas in the State.
INEC’s action in declaring a concluded election as inconclusive is therefore an annulment, totally duplicitous, constitutionally illegal, ultra-vires and as such null and void.
The PDP therefore demands the immediate arrest and prosecution of the Osun State Governorship Election Returning Officer; Prof. Joseph Fuwape, for succumbing to the pressure of the APC and declaring a decided election as inconclusive.
We demand that INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu immediately summon the courage to do the needful by declaring our candidate, Senator Ademola
Adeleke, as winner.
It is completely ludicrous, that INEC and the APC are now attempting to divert the narrative from the substance of the election by making outlandish allegations against the PDP and lobbying Civil Society Organizations and Electoral Observers to validate their
illegality.
Moreover, even if the Osun governorship election is conducted over and over
again, the PDP will still win as the people of the state have chosen the PDP and its candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, Nevertheless, we insist that the September 22, 2018 election, under our laws, is conclusive and our candidate must be declared winner.
