Religion / Should Christians Participate In Politics by chikachuks1(m): 2:53pm On Mar 08, 2019
I came across this question on a forum and decided to help share it here for more contributions

"I want to ask this question because I discovered that people have different perspectives on the issue of Christiana participating in politics. Many people think and belive that politics is not good for good and heaven minded Christians. So I decided to bring up the issue here, since this is a Christian forum. Fellow Christians please clarify me on this issue so that I will know what to say next time. THANKS ALL".

Religion / What You Need To Know About The Gideons by chikachuks1(m): 10:57am On Mar 07, 2019
While a child in the primary school, I had a firsthand encounter and experience of whom the Gideons are. Generally speaking, the Gideons are group of people, who spread the gospel of Christ by sharing Bibles and placing them in strategic locations.

While in the primary school in Nigeria, the Gideons team visited my school twice and gave out free copies of the blue color New Testament Bibles. They preached to us and prayed for us before leaving.

We had the privilege of owing copies of the New Testament at a very young age, courtesy of the Gideons. In the same way, almost all the schools in our neighborhood were visited by the same team of the Gideons and giving out free copies of the bibles to them. They place bibles in strategic places like, hotels, motels, hospital, prison and many other places.

Religion / Meaning Of Ash Wednesday And Why Anglicans Celebrate It by chikachuks1(m): 2:29pm On Mar 06, 2019
The aim of this article is to explain why the Anglican Church celebrate ash Wednesday. Most times, Pentecostal churches tend to condemn and speak against almost every practice of the Orthodox Church. But I hope this article will be meaningful and in turn convince as many as possible, but for the doubting Thomas’s, I do not know what else to do. I can only talk of Anglican because of my Anglican background, but I will not be able to talk much about Catholics and other orthodox churches. Although they all celebrate this event, yet I will not be able to place the exact reason why they do it.
ash wednesday
Ash Wednesday is celebrated in the Anglican Church to mark the beginning of lent. Lent is a period of fasting and prayer which is observed by all Anglicans worldwide. It is celebrated once in a year and it terminates with the celebration of Easter. The lenting period for the Anglican Church lasts for a period of 40 days but ash Wednesday is celebrated 46 days to Easter.

The fasting lasts for 40 days because the number 40 is a unique number. Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights and Moses also fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. Thus the Anglican Church fasts for 40 days. Many other churches fast for as long as they can or as short as they can. For example, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) fasted for 100 straight days in 2017 and 50 straight days in 2018, yet in July, they will also embark on another fasting for 30 days to complete 80 days fasting. Some other churches fast for the first 7 days of every year, some fast the last 7 days of every year, yet others fix their fast within the year. Islam fast 30 days to their sallah. Thus, the subject of fasting is not a new thing; neither did it originate from the Anglican Church. The lenting period occurs at a calculated time. Ash Wednesday occurs 46 days to Easter. The Anglican church do not fast on Sundays and as such, this lenting period lasts for 7 week (46 days) minus 6 Sundays in which no fasting is done. It is expected that every Anglican join in this yearly and spiritual exercise.

REASONS WHY WE CELEBRATE ASH WEDNESDAY
There are basically two major reasons why the church still celebrates Ash Wednesday which I am here to highlight.
The first reason why we still celebrate Ash Wednesday is because it is a sign of genuine repentance, sober reflection and sorrow. Dating back to the Old Testament, we see that ash was used severally on different occasions to mourn or bewail issues like; pronounced judgement, sorrow of heart, remorse and repentance. Perhaps, the following scripture references would throw more light. Job.42v6, Esther.4v1-3, 2Samuel.13v19, Jeremiah.6v26.25v34, Daniel.9v3. Jonah.3v6, Matthew.11v21, Luke.10v13. These few verses show us that ashes are being used basically as a sign of repentance and Jesus confirmed it validity as we see in Matthew and Luke. For this reason, the lenting period starts with the Ash Wednesday to show that the season is a season of sober reflection. It is a season of genuine repentance which ushers us to fast and pray, calling on the Lord Most High with a pure heart and a holy hand.

The second reason why Ash Wednesday is celebrated in the Anglican Communion is to remind us who we are. No matter the extent of our greatness and achievement, it a sad news to know that we are just ash and dust. This is why in a typical Anglican burial scenario, you will see or hear the following lines, “earth to earth, dust to dust, ash to ash”. With these statements, the grave of the dead person is covered. Therefore, we must constantly remind ourselves whom we are and not go about thinking that we are what we are not. With this in mind, it will help every Christian worldwide to understand the more that we are all ash and one day we will return back to ash while the soul returns to God.

DO WE JUST PICK UP ASH FROM ANYWHERE?
This is another important question that i will not fail to answer. Do we pick up ash from anywhere, since ash do not have its types? The answer is NO. We do not just use any kind of ash for this celebration. We get a palm frond, burn it and use that ash for the celebration. Palm frond is selected because when Jesus went triumphantly into Jerusalem, the people got palm frond and set it on the ground for His ass to walk on it. For this reason, the Anglican church use the ash gotten from palm frond.

May God help us so that this celebration will not just be to fulfill all righteousness. One of the major reason why it seems as if Christianity is losing its value day by day is because some of those things which were instituted by our Christian fathers are now been abused and carried out just to fulfill all righteousness. So if you are looking for the reason behind the ash Wednesday, then I have done a little justice to it. If you love this article and you believe its content, then go ahead and share it to all and sundry.

Religion / 80 Year-old Abortionist Has Killed Over 80,000 Babies In Abortions by chikachuks1(m): 9:24pm On Mar 04, 2019
An aging Alabama abortionist may have killed more than 80,000 babies in abortions in his lifetime.

Prolife Tuscaloosa recently came to that startling estimate after examining the work of abortionist Louis Payne and his employer, the West Alabama Women’s Center in Tuscaloosa.

Payne, who will turn 80 in April, appears to still be practicing at the abortion business alongside Willie Parker, an abortionist who claims to be a Christian.

The pro-life group said Payne has been working at Alabama’s largest abortion facility for 25 years, but he has been a licensed ob-gyn since 1972 and was believed to be doing abortions even early in his career.

“While Dr. Payne has not been the sole abortionist during these 25 years, he has been the primary abortionist and without his admitting privileges at Druid City Hospital, West Alabama Women’s Center could not keep their doors open,” the pro-life group told LifeNews.

Payne has performed or overseen at least 80,000 abortions at the West Alabama Women’s Center, according to the pro-life group’s estimate. Though he retired in 2014, the pro-life group said he started working at the abortion facility again in 2015 because it could not find an abortionist to replace him.

Data by the state Department of Public Health shows that the abortion facility does 3,256 abortions per year, on average. That average over the past 25 years comes to a total of 81,400 abortions. That means Payne either did or was responsible for overseeing more than 80,000 unborn babies’ abortion deaths. The total could be much higher if he also was aborting unborn babies early in his career.

According to Prolife Tuscaloosa, many Alabama residents do not know that the abortion facility exists. They shared the information to encourage more people to become involved in the pro-life movement in Alabama.

“Our culture has become desensitized to death and has been trained to look out for one’s own self first,” the group stated. “But every human life matters (no matter how big or small) and we must consider others ahead of ourselves even if it will be hard, uncomfortable, painful, awkward, or inconvenient. We fully acknowledge that unplanned pregnancies are often hard situations, but real help, the kind that helps both the mom AND the baby, is available.”

In the United States, about 60 million unborn babies have been aborted since Roe v. Wade allowed abortion on demand in 1973. Though abortion rates are dropping, nearly 1 million unborn babies still die in abortions every year in America.

Education / Types Of Students You Will Always Find In An Examination Hall by chikachuks1(m): 3:13am On Mar 04, 2019
The Nigeria University is a very funny one as you will see different types of students there. Most especially, in the examination hall, students tends to behave differently in a bid to pass their examinations. This post will unveil the various types of students you will find when you get into the examination hall.

1) The first seat guys: The first types of students you will find in the examination hall are the first seat guys. The first seat guys are always those who are not good at copying and do not want anybody to copy from them. This group of guys sit in the front so that the invigilator will always see them and as such, nobody will be able to copy from them. Also, they might be among those group who think that been in the front seat will make the invigilator look away from them and as such, they can do whatever they like.

2) The guys that will read a lot but forget in the examination hall: This guys will read as much as possible, but when they get to the examination hall, they tend to forget all they have read.

3) The examination sick guys: These are the ones that are always healthy but when it is time for examination, they remember to fall sick.

4) The ceiling counters: These guys will not kill me. They know they have examination but will never prepare for it. As such, when they get into the hall, the end up counting ceilings from beginning to the end of the examination.

5) The formation type: This guys have their network and they cannot do without it. Their formation is very strong and unique and if you are not a part of them, they will not allow you to sit close to them. If you check all their answer script, you will find out that they all wrote the same thing.

6) The once that will copy everything apart from your name and registration number: These guys are not smart at all. If you ever sit with them, you will hate examination. They will copy everything apart from your name and registration number. They do not care to read what they are copying. An example was a young man who was copying from a lady in the examination hall. The lady wrote a lot on the first sheet and turned to the next. The first statement in the next sheet was “as I earlier stated”. The young guy started from that statement, without first copying what the lady stated earlier.

7) The ones that will never copy: This ones will never copy from you even if they do not know what to write. They will prefer to fail than to copy. I think this ones are the deeply religious guys.

cool The ones you can never copy from: You can never copy from these guys no matter how smart you appear to be. They will always cover their work so that you will not see their answer. Perhaps, they are also among those who never copies from anybody in the hall.

9) The bullet carriers: They can carry bullet (mgbo) for Africa. They have their way of sneaking it into the examination hall. They write it in a sheet of paper with very tiny handwriting and other format. Some of them put it in their calculator, in the socks, in their pockets and other places. Some of them snap it with their phone and bring the phone into the examination hall.

10) The ones that must collect money from you before you copy from them: This guys are serious business men. They strongly believe that nothing goes for nothing. You must pay. They will not agree that you pay them after the examination because you will surely not do that. So they will make sure that they collect their money first before you go ahead to copy. Pay before service my brother.

11) The ones that will write the wrong things for you to copy and then later write the correct one when you have finished copying: Wonders will never end. This guys can be wicked like I cannot imagine. They will intentionally write what is wrong and allow as many people that are interested as possible to copy from them. Once they have finished copying, they will then bring out another sheet and then write the correct answer. By then, you would have finished copying. You will think they are doing correction but you will not understand. No wonder when the result is out and you check it, they will pass and you will fail. You will begin to wonder what happened.

12) The beauty without brain: This ones are beautiful and handsome but their brain is full of water. They can form slay queen. You cannot approach them because you think that they are higher than you class. But unfortunately, in the examination hall, it becomes a different story entirely.

13) The big boys but copycat: These guys appears to be the biggest guys in the department. They have the cash and every other thing. But my brother, immediately they get into the examination hall, they drop their big boism just to copy. If you ask them, they will tell you that there is no big boy in the jungle.

14) Those that are born again but not in the hall: They are mostly ladies. They will preach to you about Jesus invite you to their fellowship and scare you with hell fire. Thus, you will expect them to live by examples. Since they will preach that you should trust in God for everything, you will expect them to trust in God for answers in the examination hall. But unfortunately, everybody wants to pass.

15) The first finishers: This guys will always want to be the first to finish in every examination. They think and write very fast. Most times, they do this because they do not want anybody to copy from them. If an examination is to last for 3 hours, they will spend less than 2 hours. The invigilator will then begin to hurry up others, saying that they should be fast, since someone has finished.

16) The ones that will not write anything: This guys will never write anything because they did not prepare and unfortunately, nobody want to allow them to copy. Before you know, they will just go and submit an empty answer sheet.

17) The Bible quoters: These guys may not write well, but since they do not want to fail, they will just quote one bible passage in their answer sheet to soften the heart of the lecturer marking the script.

18) The ones that will copy wrong things thinking they copied the right thing: These guys will be very happy copying from others. Ones they see someone writing, they go ahead to copy, not minding if what they are copying right or wrong.

19) The ones who are already planning to rewrite the course the next year: They know that they cannot pass. As in no amount of miracle will make them pass. So they are just imagining how to come back the next year to come and rewrite the course. But as for passing it now, it is impossible.

20) The ones who are considering sorting: My brother, these ones think that sorting is the only way out. So they are just thinking of how much they have in their account or how to raise money as soon as possible in order to sort the lecturers.

21) The machinery: The last types of students you will find in the examination hall are the machinery. They will collect money from you and come to write the examination. This is one of their means of survival in the campus and as such, they do not joke with it. But what I fail to understand is what will happen if after collecting money to write an examination for someone and the person fails the examination.

So this is my own list, use the comment box to add up your own.

Religion / Why Does God Not Answer Some Prayers? by chikachuks1(m): 9:25pm On Feb 28, 2019
Do you ever feel that God does not answer your prayers sometimes? Have you ever been in a situation where you prayed earnestly for something to happen but in the end, it never happened, or where you prayed that something does not happen but it ended up happening? I guess that at one point or the other in our Christian race, you have had such an encounter.
If so be, why does it appear as though God did not answer such prayers, despite series of sleepless night, prayer devotions and meetings. After long days of trusting God, yet He does not answer. Well, this content does not have a detailed answer to this question. Rather, we want to raise the issue for serious discussion. So feel free to throw in your opinions and contributions.
Before we proceed, let me clearly state this point that God remains God, whether He answers our prayers or not. Even if the whole world decides not to worship God again, yet, God remains God.
Matthew. 7:7 says, “Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened unto you”. I have only 2 points to present here.

1) Most times, we ask amiss: As much as God has asked us to ask from Him and we will receive, yet we must ensure that we do not ask amiss. Many people leverage on the blank cheque from God to ask all manners of things. Yes, your request seems nice, but is it in accordance to God’s will.

2) Secondly, I believe that God answers: Most times, we think that God is silent over issues, but it is not always so. The truth is that there are some prayers that gets “YES” as answers, some get “NO” while others get “WAIT” as answer. Sadly, we always want a yes as answers to all our prayers at all times, which will not always be that way.
In conclusion, these are my 2 points, you can follow the discussion on this dedicated christian forum by clicking on the link below

Education / How To Prepare For JAMB CBT Examination by chikachuks1(m): 2:23am On Jan 30, 2019
It is no longer news that the sale of JAMB form for 2019/2020 academic year is currently ongoing. Hence we have carefully prepared this guide to help you prepare for JAMB CBT examination. It is very important to remind you that JAMB has become 100% CBT. The era of paper and pencil mode of writing JAMB is over. Hence you must fully prepare for a CBT examination.

Before I proceed, it will also be necessary to guide you on the course and institution to choose. I will not provide a fresh guide on what to consider before choosing a career because I have done it previously. Also, I have provided a detailed guide on what to consider before choosing an institution. Read these two contents carefully so as to be well guided in your decision.

Ensure that you do not choose a course you know nothing about. If possible, make up your mind on what to do before approaching the CBT center for registration. This done, let me speedily proceed to teach and tell you how to prepare for JAMB CBT examination. Chances are that you may know these tips before now, but repetition is for emphasis.

Read hard: The first thing to bare in mind is that for you to rejoice when you see your result at the end, then you must read hard. Not just hard, but very hard. With the decayed education system of our country, over 90% of students depend on examination malpractice. Sadly, with CBT, examination malpractice has been reduced to the barest minimum that I may even say that it is no longer possible to cheat in JAMB. Thus, you must read hard to know what to write in the examination. As much as possible, ensure that you cover JAMB syllabus before the examination kicks off.

Check past questions: Be informed that there are no new questions again. JAMB and other examination bodies have exhausted all the questions they have, yet examinations must go on. To go on with examinations, they resort to going back to the previous questions. Therefore, be a close friend with past questions. Try to solve the questions for the past 10 years and watch yourself soar high in the examination.

Attend JAMB lessons: Truth is that, it all depends on you. If you are taught everything, yet you do nothing about it, then success will be very far from you. But that notwithstanding, ensure you register with a JAMB center because you will have opportunity to learn at the feet of more gifted, experienced and intelligent people. This classes are very important because the teachers have more experience and as such will teach you in more practical and straight forward way.

Practice with JAMB CBT software: As much as JAMB is now written online, you must get familiar with the system in order not to mess up in the examination. For example, I was told of a lady who came out from the hall with tears just few minutes into the examination. It was said that the lady answered the first question and instead of clicking on next, she clicked on submit. Sadly, that was her second time of writing JAMB. Therefore, it is not about the fact that you are intelligent and that you have read well. You must be very familiar with the system so that you will not make any mistake in the examination hall. Practice they say makes perfect. Acquaint yourself with the system before then. There are some computer centers where you can practice with the JAMB CBT software. Register for it. If you have a laptop or desktop, you can download the software from myschool.ng and then begin to practice on your own.
Be time conscious

While you practice for the examination, also be time conscious. During the days of paper and pencil examination, you might be given as much as 3hrs for the examination. But in the era of CBT, you have about 30 minutes to answer 50 questions. Therefore, prepare with the time in mind so that you will be able to beat the time.

In conclusion, JAMB CBT is not as difficult as many people think it is. You can still make the high score you plan to make if you are serious. Wishing you all the very best.

Religion / Christmas Message From Christianityupdate by chikachuks1(m): 4:44pm On Dec 24, 2018
It’s another Christmas season when we celebrate the birth or first coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Christmas has been known as a season of love and indeed, it is a period of sharing love.

The story of Christmas is all about love. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that who so ever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life (John.3:16). In like manner, we could rephrase that for Jesus so loved the world that He agreed to come and die for sinful men.

Therefore, it is very clear that the Christmas story is a love story. So, endeavor to share love with someone this season. Endeavor to pay a prize just to please someone this season. Let this Christmas be a remarkable one in your life and in the life of others.

It started with love, it must continue with love and it must end in and with love. As you proceed in your celebration, bare in your mind that it can only be done in love. Any part of your celebration that is not done in love is not accepted before God. Therefore, anything worth doing, it worth doing well.

Share love with the less privilege. Try to do something that will give glory to the Most High God. Above all, live to fulfill the purpose of Christ’s coming.

WHY HE CAME

Why did Jesus leave heaven to come to come to this sin infested world to live for as long as 33yrs. Before I proceed, see the lyrics of a song by Frances R. Havergal (1836-1879)

1 I gave My life for thee,
My precious blood I shed,
That thou might’st ransomed be,
And quickened from the dead;
I gave, I gave My life for thee,
What hast thou giv’n for Me?
I gave, I gave My life for thee,
What hast thou giv’n for Me?

2 My Father’s house of light,
My glory circled throne,
I left for earthly night,
For wanderings sad and lone;
I left, I left it all for thee,
Hast thou left aught for Me?
I left, I left it all for thee,
Hast thou left aught for Me?

3 I suffered much for thee,
More than thy tongue can tell,
Of bitt’rest agony,
To rescue thee from hell;
I’ve borne, I’ve borne it all for thee,
What hast thou borne for Me?
I’ve borne, I’ve borne it all for thee,
What hast thou borne for Me?

4 And I have brought to thee,
Down from My home above,
Salvation full and free,
My pardon and My love;
I bring, I bring rich gifts to thee,
What hast thou brought to Me?
I bring, I bring rich gifts to thee,
What hast thou brought to Me?

Why such a great sacrifice? Was the sacrifice worth it?

“For she shall bare a son and He shall be called Jesus, for He shall deliver His people from their sin” (Matthew.1:21).

That He shall deliver His people from their sin was the primary purpose of Christ’s coming. In this light of the truth, before you go on celebrating Christmas, ensure that you are delivered totally from your sin. Ensure that the cord of sin over your life has been broken.

Bare in mind that your deliverance was the primary reason for His coming. Your eternal safety was the sole reason why He left His glory cycled throne to this sin-enveloped world and spent a long 33 years. Thus, if you are not delivered from your sin, then the purpose of His coming has been aborted in your life.

Before you go about celebrating, visiting friends, watching Christmas movies, exchanging gifts and lots more, ensure that you are delivered from your sin first. No deliverance from sin, no reasonable Christmas celebration.

Christmas will not be worth celebrating, if we do not depart from iniquity. If we celebrate Christmas with in our lives, it is just like crucifying the Lord of Glory the second time. Therefore, ensure that you are reconciled with God this Christmas period

Ensure that the purpose of Christ’s coming in your life will not be wasted. Do not just allow Christ to come into the world, allow Him to also come into your life. It is only in coming into your life that life will be meaningful for you. It is only in coming into your life that we will say indeed that His coming was not wasted.

We have come a long way in this country. Its very shameful to know that a country of 58yrs still has little or nothing to show for it. All the titles the country has are audio titles. We only hear of them but see nothing to show for it. For example, our economy is referred to as the best and biggest economy in Africa. Yet, we remain the poverty hub of the continent. A country with the biggest economy still has a poverty rate of more than 50%. What a shame.

In football, we are referred to as the giants of Africa. But to what extent have we defended that title. Yes we perform well when it has to do with African leagues. But when it is time for global leagues, we are no where to be found.

Nigeria is the largest country in terms of population in Africa. Yet it is a training ground for corruption. Just imagine if Nigeria was a human being. At 58yrs and he is still like this. Of course everyone will give up on him. Of course his parents will see him as a wasted effort. It will be said that all the investments made into his life was a total waste. If at 58yrs, a man is not useful and organized, when will he then be?

The story of our country Nigeria is a sad one that we cannot just but keep asking if Nigeria will ever get better. What is the possibility of Nigeria getting better? What is the hope of our great country Nigeria? What is the hope of a country of more than 180million people which has been high jacked by less than 1% of the population?

The leadership of the country keeps decaying because leaders are been recycled. Since we moved into the so called democracy, it has still been the same set of people that controls the affairs of the country. It is very disheartening to know of the shameful state of our dear country. The same set of people who destroyed our country are the same set of people we kill ourselves for just to still put them into power.

Where we got it all wrong

No long term plan
It is very saddening to know that our country does not have any long term plan. The leaders of the country only plan within the confines of their administration duration. Without a long term plan, we can never make any sustainable achievement as a country. Recently, china commissioned the worldlongest bridge which will last for about 120yrs. This is a product of a long term goal. Africa in general is not counted as a world economy. The matter of the world economy could be fully discussed without including Africa. With this, we find out that we will be short sighted.
If our leaders plan for only 4 or 8yrs, what will happen in the next 20yrs? What will happen in the next generation? If we must get it right, we must draw a blueprint for our country which will span for decades. the planlessness of our country is the root cause of the reason why a particular leader will embark on a project which he might not complete. The next leader comes in and totally abandons the project, not considering the billions that has been invested already. Every information that we hear that has to do with the future of Nigeria is just based on predictions and nothing more.

Non sensible youths
In my opinion, the youths are the greatest problem we have in this country. The old ones has taken our rights from us and we are quarreling amongst ourselves in a bid to defend these same people who has taken our right. The president of France and North Korea are still in their thirties. Meanwhile Nigerians in their thirties are planning how to steal away with the ballot box in favour of a man who is in his 70s.

Look at the leaders who currently preside over the affairs of our country. They started off in their 20s and 30s. how come now that it is our turn, they still has refused to retire and yet we keep singing their praise. Oh how foolish we are. How I wish that we will be delivered from this stupidity. Many years ago, we were told that youths are the leaders of tomorrow. How come now that the tomorrow has come we have not seen leadership? We must stand up for our right or else we will be doomed. The old ones now use the youths (who are supposed to be in power) as thugs and the youths are happily doing that. What a shame!

Insecurity
The problem of insecurity has become a serious threat to the nation. Nigeria has become a country where the value of a cow is much more than that of a human being. Normally, when a man dies, the people kill cow to bury him. But now when a cow dies, human beings are killed. Worse of it all is that the leadership of the country does nothing about it. It is worth suspecting that the leadership of this country sponsors terrorists. If not, why is it that nothing serious has been done about that herdsmen and their incessant killings. How is it that the book haram are more equipped than the military.

The security condition of our country is so alarming. No wonder when someone has the chance of leaving the country, he will not misuse it. Many foreign companies has left our country just because of insecurity problem. If this issue is not addressed, then I doubt if Nigeria will ever get better. Few months ago, when the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) came up with series of peaceful protest, the federal government through the Nigerian army launched operation python dance. This was targeted at eliminating the peaceful protesters. But unfortunately, the government has refused to act in the same manner against the herdsmen and book haram. Indeed, this is worth suspecting.

Corruption
The issue of corruption cannot be overemphasized. Corruption has made our country full but empty. We have all we need to become what we want. But corruption has taken them away. With the kind of leaders we have in the country, you do not need to search the dictionary to find out the meaning of corruption. Our leaders are corruption personified. Everything about them is corruption. They could deceive themselves that they are fighting corruption. But how can a man fight against himself? How can corruption fight against corruption? Why will our leaders choose to continually deceive the people that elected them into power?

The leaders of our country at all level from federal to state down to the local government are not innocent of corruption. Nigerian politicians are known as one of the richest people in the world. This is not because they build business empires. Rather, it is because they stole and drained the treasury while they were in power. A politician in his 4yrs tenure can steal the kind of money that if he were to spend a million naira daily, he might not finish the money in 10yrs. How then do we expect money to circulate within the economy? What belongs to the entire state could be share by less than 1% of the people. Politicians collect money to execute project and in turn do nothing. In a situation where they try, they spend less than 40% of the money they collected, thereby pocketing the remaining. It’s a shame that at 58yrs, corruption is still a matter in this country. Many countries that gained their independence long after us are now flying, yet we still find to difficult to crawl.

Recycling of old and quarter to die men
Nigeria is a country were humans are recycled. Prior to this time, I thought that it is only waste products that are recycled. But Nigeria has proven me wrong. Yet, I refuse to be totally wrong. I could believe that most of our leaders are waste product. Imagine 2 people running for the office of a president. One is aged 72yrs and the other one has refused to be sincere with his age because he is more than 80yrs. Yet, the same country retires civil servants at age 70. A man got the governorship ticket of a particular state at the age of 75yrs. This happened after he had retired form public service. What a shameless country we find ourselves in. we keep recycling quarter-to-die men to be our leaders. The same set of people who kept Nigeria in this kind of ugly situations are the same set of people who are leading us.

Decayed education system
The education sector cannot be ignored. If not for private schools, our education system would have been entirely finished. Year by year, the country chunks out thousands of unemployable graduates. All they know is that we are graduates and nothing more. Examination malpractice has become the order of the day and nobody is saying anything about it. Meanwhile, in the constitution of Nigeria, examination malpractice is a highly punishable offense. It is in Nigeria where you will see the children of the minister of education schooling abroad. The children of senators and governors are schooling abroad and yet we think that the education system can ever be better. This is why those who are supposed to rise and defend our education system are totally unaffected and hence, unconcerned.

While the Association of StaffUnion of Universities (ASUU) were on strike, the son of the shameless chairman of the Nigerian University Commission (NUC) graduated from a university outside the country. Primary and secondary school system has been killed by the government. Yet the tertiary education system is seriously under attack. No facilities are provided. Students graduate from the school, knowing the names of almost every equipment in their field but unfortunately, they might not be able to identify those same equipments when they see it. If they are able to identify them, they will surely not be able to use them. Yet many of these students graduate with first class and second class upper division. They could jubilate, yet they are not able to defend their result.

Unemployment
Thousands of graduates year but no jobs. Government and organisations spend millions on scholarship yearly. They spend so much in training people who will not be employed at the end of it all. the truth is that we have all it take to build as many companies as will employ all the graduates in this country. But unfortunately, corruption has left us the way we are now. Some people try their best to start up something, but unfortunately, they government policies becomes their greatest challenge. If it is only one thing I know about Nigeria, it is the fact that the welfare of they people is of no concern to our leaders. Ibeto cement which is a massive employer of labour in the country has been shut down for whatsoever reasons. Some other companies has also suffered the same fate. Meanwhile, there are many other countries that give out incentive to the startups so as to encourage them. Where exactly did we get it wrong as a country. Can Nigeria still be better

Poor Infrastructure
Look at the kind of infrastructure we have in our country. At 58yrs, politicians still use bad roads to campaign. Truth be spoken, it is too shameful and there are certain things that should not even be thought of, talk more of mentioning them. They promise to build road and at the end there is still nothing substantial we can say that they did. When it comes to infrastructure, ignorant politicians only talk about road. How about pipe borne water? How about constant power supply? How about building standard structures? I am tired of Nigeria. How do we want to ever get better with this kind of trash? United nations finding says that any government that provide standard infrastructure for her people has contributed less than 15% to the nation. So think about it, if it is only road the leaders pay attention to, it then means that they have solved far less than 10% of our problems.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, if not for the fact that I believe in God with Whom all things are possible, I would have given up on Nigeria. Truth is that many people has given up on Nigeria saying that it can never be better. Anyways lets not fold our hands and watch things play out. Rather we must be involve in various role to see if things will be better. You have your part to play and I have mine. Do yours while I do mine. Then we will see the outcome.

Family / 10 Proven Ways To Maintain Love by chikachuks1(m): 4:46am On Dec 10, 2018
The journey of love does not seem so rosy as it appears in the beginning. Many marriages that started so well few years ago have now ended up in an unbelievable divorce. Many friendship that appeared to be the admiration of almost everyone in the neighborhood has been broken.

Relationship can only be sustained if love if maintained. Without love, the relationship will not thrive. Love in a relationship ought to increase frequently so that the relationship will continue to progress.

In the past few years, we have experienced and unbelievable number of broken homes. Many weddings that coughed out millions to organize has now ended in pieces.

Hopefully, with this article, we are on the verge of getting it right. Love is the oil that lubricates any relationship (marriage or friendship). The concept of love should not be limited only to love making (sex). Sex is one of the signs of love but unfortunately, sex of these days is more of lust that love.

When two unmarried people involve in sex, no matter how close and intimate they might appear to be, they are more involved in lust than love. As much as sex is an integral part of love, yet in some cases, true love can thrive without sex. This is why our old daddy and mummy still stays together till date even when they have lost the appetite for sex.

Here are 10 proven relationship tips on how to maintain love in a relationship. Remember that to whom much is given, much is expected. If you apply all these principles in your relationship, then much will be expected from it. It is not too late to start. If your relationship is close to breaking up, start immediately to apply these tips. If your relationship is growing, still apply these tips and do not wait until it gets broken.

Apologize when necessary
The first killer of relationship is “pride”. As the bible says, “pride goes before a fall”. Any relationship that involves proud people will not last. If you want your relationship to last for your pleasure, then apologize when necessary. Mind you, I did not say you should only apologize when you are wrong. Rather, apologize when necessary. Even though you might not be wrong, but for that fact that you see that apologizing will go a long way in greasing your relationship, then do it. Many people think that strong men do not apologize, rather it is weak men that do so. Little do they know that in the actual sense of it, apologizing is a sign of strength and not apologizing is a sign of weakness.

Be Faithful to your partner
Faithfulness in a relationship is one inevitable ingredient that sweetens a relationship. When your partner finds out that he is sharing you with someone else, you tend to loose most of the love you were supposed to gain. If you keep other ladies, you partner surely will not be happy. When one party is displeased, the relationship pays for it. Ensure you are faithful to your partner and by so doing you will be heading over to a better relationship. Many people think that when their partner does not satisfy them, they will seek satisfaction outside. If your partner is not able to satisfy you, be satisfied with your partner.

Use the term “I love you” frequently and sincerely
Constantly and frequently reminding your partner how much you love him or her. Tell your partner how miserable you would have been with him. Tell your partner how lucky you are since she came into your life. The act of been romantic is not all about having every skill and pattern of sex on the bed. Rather when you use this word and few other words on your partner, that will mean that you are romantic. Tell her you love her in the morning when you wake up. When she prepares your meal, remind her that you love her. When speak on phone, conclude it with “I love you”. When you about to go out or when you return, tell her you love her. In like manner, when he buys anything for you, tell him how much you love him. When he tells you he loves you, reply with “I love you too”. When you say it, say it sincerely, not out of compulsion or to fulfill all righteousness. Let term I love you never be scarce in your relationship, else it may crash.

Buy gifts once in a while unreservedly
Buying gifts is another part of maintaining love in a relationship that we cannot afford to miss. Learn to buy gifts for your partner. Find out what he or she likes most and buy it frequently. Most times, we buy gifts, not because our partners cannot afford it. We do it because we want to make our relationship thrive. Gifts must not necessarily be expensive. You might not have the money to afford the most expensive car or phone for your partner. You might not have the money to buy the most expensive dress for them. But you will definitely have the money to purchase at least one thing that your partners cherishes, at least once in one or two months. Although, it might appear costly sometimes, yet you must remember that love is sacrificial. A love without sacrifice will soon fail.

Be sincere with each other
I am sure that one thing you hate so much as a human being you when people lie to you. You will not like it when someone tells you a lie. Most especially, when it is someone you so much cherish. For any relationship to thrive, the two people involved must be sincere with each other. Do not lie to your partner. By the way, what is your intention for lying to your partner? What do you stand to gain when you lie to him? How do you think he or she will feel when they find out the truth later? The worst thing that can happen in any relationship is when your partner loses confidence in you. This will be a very miserable state. Lying to your partner is the main thing that will make them lose confidence in you. You will surely not trust anybody who cannot tell you the truth. Therefore, for your love life to work out, for you to maintain love in your relationship, you must be sincere with you partner. Don’t let them find out the truth by themselves when it is in your power to tell them.

Forgive easily
There is no relationship without offenses. No matter how we claim to love each other, there must be offenses. For the fact that we are entirely different from each other, then we might not please each other in everything we do. Therefore, I must state clearly that you must learn to forgive your partner easily. Do not be a record keeper of offensive events in your relationships. Many people have a black book where they record all their offenses. This is not the way forward for your relationship. Learn to forgive easily. I have earlier stated that for relationship to thrive, you must apologize when necessary. When apology is made, learn to forgive without stress. But may I say it clearly, do not always wait for apology before forgiving. Your partner may not be humble enough to apologize. You must ensure that your relationship works out at all cost. Therefore, you must play your full part. Learn to forgive easily. It will help you very much. Anyone who easily forgives lives very healthy.

Endure certain things
As much as relationships and marriages are meant to be enjoyed, yet at some points, you must learn to endure. Be patient with the imperfection of you partner. Your partner may not be as educated as you are and as such may not behave as matured as you want. Your partner may not be as spiritual as you are. Therefore, you need endurance to effectively work and live with them. As much as you do not give up easily on your business or work when faced with challenges, you should also not give up on your marriage or relationship when faced with challenges. Endure when there is need to.

Put yourself in the shoes of your partner
Love will not be fair with me if I fail to present this all important relationship tips. Do not forget to put yourself in the shoes of your partners before reacting. Many people over react over every small issue they encounter. Your partner may have genuine and sincere reasons for doing what they do but you might not understand. Therefore, before you begin to complain about your partner, put yourself in his or her shoes first.it is a popular saying that he that wears the shoes knows where it pinches. It may be pinching your partner so hard but because your leg is not in the shoe, you might not know. For example, if there is to be a change of responsibility between you and your partner, do you think you will cope easily with it?

Pray together
No matter your religion, learn to pray together. It is said that a family that prays together stays together. There is need to pray together. Present your problems to God together in you prayer. If we can successfully pray together, then we can successfully stay and live together.

Go on outings with matching outfits
This might appear a kind of crazy. But then, there are little things you need to spice up your relationship. For you relationship to thrive, learn to go on outing with matching outfit. This is a true sign of love. It will move your love life from private to public. Go for vacations. Go to lunch or dinner. Go to church and other place. As much as possible, do it in matching outfit. One importance of this is that if you are not at peace with your partner, you will not comfortably put on a matching outfit with him or her. Therefore, there will always be a need to reconcile and be at peace with each other at all times.

CONCLUSION
Your marriage can still work out, no matter how decayed it might appear to be. Your relationship can as well work out despite all odds. Your boyfriend of today can be your husband tomorrow if you can apply all these nine principles. Think about it, marriage are breaking up on a daily basis. Relationship are ending up in heart breaks most often. Yet yours can still work out. Love is a good thing. Love is a sweet thing if you can fully be committed to playing your part.

Religion / What You Need To Know About The Gideons by chikachuks1(m): 4:53am On Dec 09, 2018
The Gideons International is an evangelical Christian association with the vision of sharing free bibles to as many people as they are privileged to. They have their presence in about 200 countries where they share free copies of the New Testament bibles. The New Testament bible they distribute is made up of the 27 books of the New Testament with psalms and proverbs included.

In the autumn of 1898, John H. Nicholson of Janesville, Wisconsin, arrived at the Central Hotel at Boscobel, Wisconsin, for the night. The hotel was crowded, but he was offered a bed in a double room with Samuel E. Hill of Beloit, Wisconsin.

The two men soon discovered they shared a common belief in Christ, and they decided to have their evening devotions together. During their prayer time, both felt the call to begin developing an Association.

On May 31, 1899, the two men met again at Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, where they decided the purpose of their Association would be to band Christian commercial travelers together for mutual recognition, personal evangelism, and united service for the Lord. They decided to call a meeting in Janesville, Wisconsin, on July 1, 1899, in the Y.M.C.A.

Only three men were present at the meeting in Janesville: John H. Nicholson, Samuel E. Hill, and Will J. Knights. They organized with Hill as president, Knights as vice president, and Nicholson as secretary and treasurer.

When it was time to decide the name of the Association, the men held a special prayer time to ask that God might lead them to select the proper name. After, Mr. Knights arose from his knees and said simply, “We shall be called Gideons.” He then proceeded to read the story of Gideon from the sixth and seventh chapters of Judges.

The Gideons International was established in 1899. The founders realized that Christian men needed to be continually strengthened in their walk with the Lord, and that by standing together in faith, they could accomplish great things for God’s Kingdom. Those formative years focused on who a man was before God and the strength and power of his personal testimony.

Through associating together for service, Gideons challenge each other to strengthen their testimonies for Christ and fulfill their God-given responsibilities as spiritual leaders in their homes and churches.

A typical Bible or New Testament from The Gideons International contains:
1) A short preface
2) A pamphlet suggesting Bible verses that may be of assistance in various sorts of trouble.
3) Translations of John 3:16 into a variety of languages and scripts
4) The Bible text itself, without notes, references, or any other reference matter other than chapter and verse headings; this can either be the full Bible (typical of the copies placed in hotel rooms), or just the New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs (typical of the copies handed out as gifts to individuals)

5) A short description of the evangelical understanding of salvation, with biblical quotations, and a place for the reader to sign and date their confession of Jesus as their savior (this is especially common in the shorter editions featuring the New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs)

The covers of the New Testaments distributed by Gideons are color-coded based on which groups they are meant for:

I) Orange: Given in sidewalk distribution
II) Green: For college/university students
III) Red: For in-school distribution to Middle/High school students
IV) Digital Camouflage/Desert Camouflage: For the military
V) Dark blue: Printed in a language other than English
VI) White: For medical professionals

VII) Light blue: For distribution by the Auxiliary only
VIII) Brown: For facilities distributions, (for witnessing in prisons and jails by Gideons)
IX) Burgundy: Personal worker’s testaments (for individual witnessing by Gideons)
X) Periwinkle: Personal worker’s testaments (for individual witnessing by the Auxiliary)

Conclusion

The Gideons International has distributed more Bibles than any other group or organization in history. The ministry is funded by supports from churches and ministries and donations from individuals. Members are from the age 21 and above and must be born again. The wives of the Gideons are also allowed to be part of the Gideons. The gideons has thrived for about 120 years and are still fully committed to the course of their ministry.

Religion / What Will Jesus Do? by chikachuks1(m): 5:18am On Dec 02, 2018
“And the disciples were called Christians”. A christian is not more than someone following the footsteps of Jesus. For you to spell Christian appropriately, the first six letters joined together is Christ. Thus a Christian is someone who is like Christ and nothing without Christ. A Christian is someone who puts Jesus in his own shoes before he does anything.

If Jesus were to be in your place, what will He do per time. What will Jesus do when confronted by the same challenge which confronts you? We will become better Christians if we develop the habit of asking ourselves, what will Jesus do when he is confronted by the same thing with which we are confronted.

Perhaps we are confronted with a great challenge, how do we react to it? Then if Jesus was in that same challenge, how will He react to it? Remember that are primary goal, aim and purpose is to be like Christ. We are not to do anything new rather, we are to do just as He did. We are to live our lives just as Jesus lived His.

What will Jesus do if He met a poor beggar? Almost every day of our lives, we meet beggars on the street or even in our homes. Some of them are confident enough to knock at the door of our house. How do we respond to them? But before you treat them harshly, ask yourself this simple and soul striking question, “What will Jesus do”? If that same beggar was to meet Jesus and you were privilege enough to watch Jesus response, how do you think He will react to that beggar?

What will Jesus do if he was confronted with sin? Day by day, sin comes knocking at our door steps. Many a times, it does not have to knock for long before we open the door for it to enter. We drink sin like water. We breath sin like air. We eat sin like food. But if Jesus was confronted by the same sin with which you were confronted, how will he react? Do you think he will open up the door and welcome it with both alms wide opened. What will Jesus do if He were in your stead?

What will Jesus do if he is tempted like you? Thank God we have recorded cases of the temptations which Jesus was tempted with. We also have a detailed record of how He responded to them all. I ask you now, how do you respond to the temptations that confronts you. Do you respond as a good follower of Jesus or not? Do you respond like a true christian. What will Jesus do if He faced the same temptation with you?

What will Jesus do if He enjoys that success you are enjoying? Many have forgotten God just because of the little and momentary success they have achieved. They become ardent follower of Christ because of what they are looking for. But once they get it, they turn their back on God. What will Jesus do if He embraces the kind of success you now have? Do you think He will be puffed up like you? Do you think that He will forget and neglect God like you? Before you glory excessively, ask yourself this question, “what will Jesus do if He is as successful as you are?”

What will Jesus do if was persecuted like you? Many people want to give up their faith because of persecution. But thank God nobody can be persecuted half the way Jesus was persecuted. Therefore, keep it in your mind that you have not seen up to what Jesus saw while on it. Therefore, quitting should not be an option

What will Jesus do if he was confronted with so great a storm of life? Storms of life are always around us and we respond to them in various ways. But before you respond, remember that you are a Christian. Remember that you are a follower of Jesus therefore, find out what Jesus will do if He is blown about by the same wind that blows you.

What will Jesus do if He suffers a major heart break? There is no heartbreak that is worse than that which Jesus suffered. Think of how it feels to be betrayed, denied, flogged and crucified by the same people whom He came to save. How do you react to the young man who you have helped unreservedly and now he pays you back with evil? After the heartbreak, Jesus said, “Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing”. You can do likewise. Follow His footsteps.

What will Jesus do if He is been denied His right? I guess that a few number of times, you have been denied your right. How did you react in such situation? How do you think Jesus would have reacted if He was in your place? Do not be in a haste to react in any situation. Find out what Jesus will do.

What will Jesus do if He gets offended? Will He hastily begin to make ungodly comments like many of us today? Will He begin to curse and hate His offenders? Oh no He will not. Rather, He will love more. He will care more. He will do more. Therefore, do not be in a hurry to talk when faced with offenses.

If you must be a true disciple of Jesus. If you must follow Him to the end. If your desire is to behold His face in glory. If you want God to address you as a son in whom He is well pleased. Then you must find out what Jesus will do at any point in time. The question “what is Jesus do” should be a question your soul will always desire to get an answer to.

Will Jesus ever wake up from sleep and jump into the days activities without communicating with the Father? Will Jesus ever have been involved in any form of sexual defilement? We saw that for the thirty and three years He lived on earth, His major companions were His disciples who were majorly of the male folk.

Will Jesus give a bribe in order to secure a multi-million dollar contract? Will he have told a lie to go free or get a favour. Will Jesus become a pleaser of men just for the sake of getting something from them. Will Jesus get to the top by stepping on others or even pulling them down? Will Jesus kill to make money? Will Jesus forge a document to secure an enticing position?

If your answer to all these questions is NO, them why must we do the opposite. Why must you in particular do otherwise? Do you still claim that you are a Christian but still do things contrary to how Jesus would have acted if He were in your shoes.

Our prayers is to end well. If we must end well, then we must walk in His footsteps. We must follow the path through which He followed. We must do that which He did. We must say that which He said.

O let me see Thy footprints, and in them plant my own;

My hope to follow duly is in thy strength alone;

O guide me, call me, draw me, uphold me till the end;

And then in heave in receive me, my savior and my friend.

Education / Improving The Relationship Between A Teacher And Students by chikachuks1(m): 8:24am On Nov 29, 2018
The caption and title of this article (Improving the relationship between a teacher and Students) might appear somewhat boring. I am not ignorant of that fact. But then, since infoducation exists to serve students, we ensure we provide relevant articles across all aspects of the student’s life.

We want to make sure that our readers are fully loaded and informed through our platform so that they can become the best in almost everything they get involved into. Remember, to whom much is given, much is expected. We spend countless hours in preparing our articles and therefore, ensure that you fully digest every bit of it.

Our focus here is to provide a meaningful content that will aid teacher and students relate well. While I was I secondary school, I attended a seminar which took place fortnightly. The caption of the seminar was “school of success”. One of the days, the speaker taught on keys to success. One of the clear points he presented was, “love all your teachers”. If you do not love your teacher, you can never excel in his/her subject.

Many thought it was a joke but I had practically experienced it. Till date, I am not good in chemistry and that was because, early in my senior secondary school I hated the chemistry teacher and it followed me in that manner. I narrowly escaped and got admitted into the university.

So the question to you as a student who is desirous of success is this, “what is your relationship with your teacher”? Is there a strong teacher and students relationship existing between you and your teachers? If no, then you must try to do something
Why should you build a strong teacher and students relationship?

Let me proceed to briefly share some points why you need to build a very strong teacher and students relationship for your academic success.

1) Teachers are shareholders in your life: It may interest you to know that teachers are strong shareholders in your life. As much as your parents, spiritual leaders, friends and relations are shareholders in your life, so also are your teachers. Thus, you ought to build a very strong relationship with them. The influence of teachers have in the life of their students cannot be overemphasized.

Thus you owe a great allegiance to your teachers. Have you discovered that in most cases, parents look up to the school for their child’s upbringing? In looking up to the school, it is nothing more than looking up to your teachers to train you well. Therefore, you must strive to ensure that a teacher and students relationship exists between you and your teachers.

2) Your teachers are your other parents: In boarding schools, parents assign their children to guidance, who will help take thorough care of their children. These teachers play such roles in the absence of the parents. In most schools where students are not allowed to use phones, their guardians stands as a middlemen between the parents and their children.

Therefore, knowing that the teachers are another set of parents you can have, then you must build a strong relationship with them. Within this period, if you fall sick, it is still these teachers that will carter for your welfare.

3) Teachers are your ladder to greatness: There are many steps you need to climb before you get to the top. Nobody ever disappears and appears at the top. You must take series of calculated steps before you can successfully get to the apex. If that is your desire, then you must fully leverage on your teachers as a ladder with which you will climb to the height of you desire. Every successful person was taught. No successful person will ever say he learnt all by himself. Therefore, get close to your teachers.

4) To avoid discrimination and been neglected: Many students claim that their teachers are discriminatory in nature and hence neglect a particular group, paying attention to few. The truth is that the discriminatory factor resides in all of us but then, our relationship with people will determine if or not it will be manifested.

For example, if there are 20 students in the class and just 5 gets closer to the teacher while the remaining 15 are not, what do you expect? It is impossible for the teacher to pay equal attention to the both party. For further reading, check my article on how to overcome difficult lecturers.

5) To receive favour: There are many things every student stands to benefit from their teachers. Unfortunately, if you run far from your teacher you stand the risk of not enjoying such benefit. For example, if you have a problem with another teacher, a teacher who knows you well could stand in and mediate for you. Also, if there is a case whereby you fail a subject/course and only a few marks is needed to help you, a teacher who knows you well will not have difficulty in doing that. Therefore also ensure you build a strong rapport with your teachers.

6) Other forms of support: There are many students who do not have a very strong financial base with which their education can be funded. Many a times, the teachers come in as a helper to aid the student in offsetting such bills. If you flee from your teachers, you will not be able to enjoy such support.

Far from financial support, teachers tend to help you in your career pursuit. There are many teacher who are embodiments of business ideas, but their busy schedule might not permit them to successfully execute such ideas. If you are close to them, they could share such ideas with you and even mentor you till you get to your successful destination.

CONCLUSION

As a way of concluding, let me restate what I earlier stated. The benefits of teachers on their students cannot be overemphasized. If there is no strong teacher and students relationship existing between you and your teachers, go and do something about it now.

About 20 months after my graduation, I went back to school to apologize to one of my teachers for not been close to him while in school. Indeed, it’s a regrettable act not to be close to your teachers. Therefore, start today and build a strong and lasting relationship. Life does not end here. There is a future we must look at and as such, we ought not to neglect anyone at all.
DO HAVE A NICE AND SUCCESSFUL DAY AHEAD.

Education / My Experience At The Last Concluded ASUU Strike by chikachuks1(m): 2:00pm On Nov 26, 2018
Truth be told, every student hates it whenever ASUU goes on strike. He that wears the shoes knows where it pinches. Its very sad and disheartening that when you gain admission, you become very curious to study and graduate as at when due. Unfortunately, strike comes in between to disrupt your studies. As much as carryover has the ability to lengthen your stay in school, ASUU Strike can do same.

Many questions are going on in the heart of those affected by this strike. Questions like, when will ASUU Strike be called off? What is the cause of the strike? Why wont the strike be called off as soon as possible.

I know your pains dear. I am not a novice to the effect of strike on our studies. During my school years, we underwent two very powerful strikes. Thus, in this article, I want to share my experience with you, perhaps you will learn something great from my story.
The First Strike.

The first strike was actually not ASUU Strike but NUT strike. I was in secondary school by then in 2006. Infact, I had just entered JSS3 and seriously preparing for the Junior Secondary Certificate Examination (JSCE). Sadly, the strike stroke us at the most unexpected and unanticipated time. The strike lasted for 8 long weeks. Think about it, a term is made up of 12 weeks and 8 of those weeks were snatched away by the unfriendly hands of strike.

The strike came up because the Federal Government attempted privatizing the Federal Government Colleges. This led to an unfriendly protest by the National Union of Teachers (NUC).

I did not travel home within this period because I lived very far from the state where the secondary school is located. Another reason why I did not travel was because no one knew when the strike would be called off. What if I just arrived home and the next day, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) announces that the strike was over?

Thus we spend most of our time playing about because no one educated us on skill acquisition. Playing football and Shaw egg became the order of the day. We played and played like say tomorrow no dey. But then, a few number of times, we went to read our books. Good enough, I covered more than 70% of the scheme of work before the strike was called off.
Fast forward to the second strike.

The second strike which was ASUU Strike came calling in July 2013. Unfortunately, it was just 2 week to start our examination. How I wish that we had written the examination before the ASUU Strike surfaced. Unfortunately, every activity on campus ceased and things became totally dry.

Before I continue with my experience in the ASUU Strike, read my article on How to utilize ASUU Strike effectively. Perhaps you will find it very helpful.

We waited for the first month to see if the strike will be called off. But the more we waited, it seemed as if the strike was been lengthened.

The second month came and there was still no glimpse of hope as to whether or not the ASUU strike will be called off any sooner.

In the third month, I decided to stop wasting my time at home doing nothing. Remember that during ASUU strike, students become lethargic as the zeal to read will naturally die down. By the way, what are you even reading for? Not lecture, not test, no assignment and no examination.

I decided to go work in a printing press where I gained ample knowledge on how to publish a book. Why did I decide to work in a printing press of all places? I chose that because one of my life goals is to own a standard printing press. I worked there for only 13 weeks because ASUU Strike was terminated within this period.

13 weeks is too short to learn all the things involved in running a printing press. But then, I was actively involved and thus gained ample foundational knowledge on relevant things concerning printing press. From start to finish, I now know all the stages involved in printing a book.

In like manner, I encourage every student to get busy doing something productive. No one knows how long the strike will last. Maybe before it is called up, you could learn fashion and designing. Maybe you can get ample computer skill. Maybe you can start a very successful business. Maybe you can gain something profitable. Stop wasting your time.

This is my own experience. Someday you will be privileged to share your own experience. Get something doing so that your experience will be a 5 star one.

Education / Why You Need To Get Involved In Elearning by chikachuks1(m): 12:47am On Nov 23, 2018
Have you ever heard of eLearning? Have you ever thought of learning via the internet? Do you know that the internet has enhanced every facet of our daily lives? Do you know that you must not have to go to the classroom to learn adequately?

To start with, the e in eLearning stands for electronic. Therefore eLearning can also be referred to as electronic learning. So, eLearning is the process of learning over the internet, using electronic facilities and could be done outside the confines of a physical classroom.

With eLearning many learning gaps has been bridges. The world in general and many institutions, both higher and lower institutions are seriously and fastly embracing the eLearning facilities. Many people are known as full time graduates, either for B.Sc, M.Sc and PhD without ever attending any physical classroom. This is done over the internet.
Many “study abroad courses” are also conveyed over the eLearning platform so that nobody will have an excuses as to why he/she is not educated.

eLearning may not actually be watching tutorials or from your CDROM. But it must be conducted over the internet. With the eLearning platform, students freely interact with their lecturers and other students in the class. Though there may be no physical contact of any kind.

E-learning offers the ability to share material in all kinds of formats such as videos, slideshows, word documents, and PDFs. Conducting webinars (live online classes) and communicating with professors via chat and message forums is also an option available to users.

The internet has fully transformed the way information is shared around the globe. Since learning is all about communication, hence it has fully benefited from the impact of the internet. But then, why did I just decide to write about eLearning today? Since I am a good content developer and creative writer, why did I not just go and hunt up a catchy topic and develop an article around it?

It may interest you to know that many people search for relevant information on this subject matter. Also I thought it wise to encourage everyone to go back to school. Through eLearning, you can go back to school even from your shop or your office. There is not barrier to that at all.

Few years ago, the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria introduced elearning into the country through and institution known as the National Open University Nigeria (NOUN). At its launch in 2001, about 32,400 were enrolled and since then has graduated countless number of students. This innovation came up as a result of the fact many people get to busy to go to school. Some as well appear too old to go to school. Hence this institution came up, since you will not need a physical classroom, except for examination purpose.

Let me proceed speedily to outline the benefits of elearning. After I might have outlined them, you will agree with me that not one is too poor to partake from it. So here are the benefits.

1) It accommodates your busy schedule: As earlier stated, many people are too busy to attend the physical classes. Hence, with elearning, they can learn from their shop, office, bedroom, toilet, everywhere and anywhere. Thus it overcomes your excuse of a busy schedule.
2) It is relatively cheap: Elearning is very cheap. Many elearning programs are done for free, though you pay to be issued certificate. But compared to the traditional learning pattern, elearning is very cheap.
3) It is faster: You tend to complete your course faster than the normal time. You can take lectures everyday which will hasten your study duration. You do not need to spend 4 to 5 years in it just to get a degree.
4) You have access to material of various formats: Contrary to the traditional method of learning where you will only have your textbook and notebook, here you will have access to materials of various formats. Such as PDFs, video tutorial, audio, powerpoints and lots more. These materials are not just available, but you can access them from anywhere at anytime.
5) If you are a worker or a businessman, you can leverage on elearning to acquire relevant knowledge.
6) You can also go through your materials over and over again: Since these material are delivered online, you can back them up to your device and have access to them anytime you want to. This is unlike the classroom method where the lecturers delivers his lecture and goes away. You tend to forget many of what he said. But with elearning you can rewound the audio and video and you can also play it over again entirely.
7) You will have access to updated materials: Since the network is made up of people from various places, you stand to enjoy updated material. Thus, your knowledge will be updated continually.
cool You will interact with highly knowledgable people: It is true that the traditional method of learning also enhances interaction. Although it is very limited because the lecturer has a lot of things to cover within a given time frame. So he does everything possible to make sure that he meets up. But in elearning, you will have unlimited interaction with other student and lecturer.

Conclusion

The impact and impart of elearning cannot be over emphasized. I could go ahead a publish a book of 150 page fully dedicated to elearning. But then, I must have to stop here, hoping that I have conveyed a strong message on the importance and relevance of elearning. You might have your reasonable excuses as to why you might not continue with education in the classroom or lecture hall. But you will not have any excuse if you do not embrace elearning platform
