Education / Why You Should Own A Blog As A Student by chikachuks1(m): 3:10am On Jul 29, 2018
In the 21st century, blogging has become one of the field where your efforts could be lucratively channeled. Every young person stands a chance to own a blog. In a bid to encourage young people to become industrious, there are various things to do with your time. Unfortunately, many people sees entrepreneurship as a game only the advanced in age can venture into. You will agree with me that the youths are the highest users of the internet. As such, such time could be channeled into some meaningful efforts. I have carefully prepared this article in order to encourage every student to own a blog. If you have read my article titled, “Businesses you can do in the campus” https://infoducation.com/campus-business/, blogging was stated there. Though, I must clearly state that to own a blog is not compulsory for every student. This article serves as an encouragement to boost you interest in the blogosphere. After reading this article, your perspective on owning a blog should change. If you have been considering blogging before, this article will make you more interested in it. But if not, this article will arouse your interest. Let us proceed straight to the point.

It is cheap to start: The very first reason why every student should own a blog is because blogging is very cheap to start. If you already have your devices like, laptop and smartphone, the capital will be drastically reduced. To start a blog, get a domain name of your choice. Though I must let you know that almost every smart domain name has been taken. If you need help on getting a nice domain name, chat me up on whatsapp via 07064635053. The price for domain names varies from company to company. But at most, with ₦5,000 you will get a .com domain name for a year and with at most ₦3,000 you will get a .ng domain name for a year. In my opinion, if you can purchase more than a year at once, the better for you. After you have gotten a domain name, you proceed to get a hosting plan. There are different hosting plans provided by hosting companies and their rate differs. Here are some of the hosting companies you can check up; Globalhosting247, whogohost, Hostgator, ehost, bluehost etc. But then, as a newbie, the hosting will not cost more than ₦25,000 per year. The next thing is to get a designer. Most times, wordpress provides the best platforms for bloggers. A good designer can design a blog for you for as low as ₦15,000. Better still, you can check out some YouTube tutorials and design it yourself. At most to own a blog will cost you ₦50,000. You discover that compared to some other business, this amount is relatively low. Therefore, this is the first reason why you should own a blog.

You are passionate about something: The second reason why you should own a blog is because you are passionate about something. Even as a student, your passion cannot be 100% channeled to education. There are still some other thing you are passionate about, like, religion, sports, education, jobs, entertainment, fashion, etc. You can convert your passion into a blog to help you develop more on it and also share your passion with a wider community.

Blogging Could Be Seamlessly Combined With Your Studies: If you own a blog, it does not stop you from still been very good in your studies. Blogging can be combined with your studies without creating any lapse. Every human being has the ability to multitask at one time or the other. Therefore, if you own a blog, you can still perform matchlessly in your studies.

Students’ community is very favourable: A study has shown that many businesses done in the student community are successful. This is in almost every campus, you have a community of about ₦20,000 students, compact together in a given geographical location. Therefore, if there is any good place to do business, in my opinion, the campus environment is that place. In like manner, whatever niche of blogging you want to do, you will find students who will really patronize you. If you can grow your blog in the student community, then growing it in the larger community will not be much problematic.

Education / Things To Consider Before Choosing Your Project Topic by chikachuks1(m): 2:09am On Jul 29, 2018
With the education system on ground, every student must write a project before graduation. Polytechnic students write two projects, one at the National Diploma (ND) level and the other at the Higher National Diploma (HND) level. But then, many people have difficulties in choosing a project topic. That is why many students outsource their project work and pay huge amount of money just to get the project done. But then, if you can get a topic you can do, you will do it comfortably do it without stress. There are few points I will list below which will serve as guidelines to help you in choosing the project topic. Think well before you choose whatever topic you want to do as your project. I have provided an advice to young students who want to do their project work. Read the advice and try to adhere to it, it will be of great help to you. Therefore, the underlisted are things you consider before choosing a project topic.

Your knowledge level
: Knowledge they say is power. The first thing you must consider before choosing a project topic is your knowledge level. The primary reason why many students outsource their project work not because they do not have time but because the topic exceeds their knowledge level. If you must comfortably choose a reasonable project work, you must check your knowledge level. You will spend about 2, 3 or 4 years before you start your project work. Use these few years to study heard so as to be fully grounded in at least one field, so that when the time for project comes, you will know what to do. Your project must not be complex as many people think it is. If you think that project is a big deal, the recommendation I will give you is to look for an existing work in your field and improve on it. Truly, project work is very simple. Find out what you can do then go into it. As much as possible, choose a topic for yourself, do not allow your supervisor to choose for you. You are the one to do the project work yourself not your supervisor. Therefore, be guided. If you choose a project topic based on your knowledge level, you will do your project work without stress.

Your financial capacity: Once again, let me state that your project work is not a complex stuff. Though, there are some project that are capital intensive, but yet be careful in choosing your project topic. Before embarking on any project work, check your financial strength and that of your sponsors. As much as possible, try to downsize your budget before choosing your project topic.

Kind of lecturers in your department: Another thing to consider is the kind of lecturers in your department. In some departments, lecturers stands as stumbling blocks to many students. In my own little knowledge, you can apply for a change of project supervisor. The simplest way to do that is by simply approaching the lecturer whom you want to supervise you. If he agrees, good enough. The reason why you must consider the kind of lecturers you have before choosing a project topic is because many lecturers will frustrate your efforts. Knowing fully that your supervisors are human beings and as such are also limited in knowledge. It might be that your supervisor knows nothing about the project work you want to embark upon. How then do you want him to supervise you in what he does not know? Therefore, this is another thing to consider before choosing your project topic.

Availability of materials: Be informed that most of the project work done by students are simple improvement on already existing ones. Therefore check for availability of related and relevant materials before you jump into doing your project work. If your chosen topic does not have much materials, then your project work will seriously limited. So the more the available materials, the easier for you.

Relevance of your project topic: The next thing to check for is the relevance and impart of your project work. Make sure that your project work is not that which will take us to centuries and decades back. Let your project work match with the latest trend in technology. With this, you will not have difficulties in getting a scope for your project work. Also the relevance of you project work will determine if or not your supervisor will show interest in your work.

Education / How To Read At Night Comfortably by chikachuks1(m): 6:32am On Jul 28, 2018
Success in school is a result of relentless efforts. If you sow your seed in the day, also sow in the night because you do not know the one that will yield more fruit. This article is aimed at teaching you how to read at night comfortably. Many students are afraid of reading at night because of certain factors. Some students have conditioned their body system so that they will never read at night no matter what happens. A course mate of mine once told me that no matter how difficult the examination for the next day might be, reading at night is not for her.

Whatever might be your fear as a student, this article is powerfully prepared to counter you fears. I was once a student and therefore I want to recommend what works. Many people might recommend their ideas but unfortunately, some of those ideas are just theories. In practical sense, they might not work. But then, I show you a more excellent way that will aid your academic pursuit. These strategies are tested, trusted and therefore recommended.

Remember that the goal of infoducation is to help every student have an enjoyable academic life. Therefore, we will not relent in our effort to compile powerful articles for your consumption. Before I go ahead to outline strategies on how to read at night, let me first outline some reasons why many students find it difficult or impossible to read at night. Bear in mind that when the cause of a problem is known, then the solution will not be difficult to get.

Look for a secured environment: To overcome the problem of insecurity, look for a comfortable environment. For those that live in the lodges inside the campus, I guess there is a common room inside. If there is, then I suppose that it will be more secured than those opened fields. But then if there is no common room in your lodge, I still suppose that there will be a secured place around you. Study your environment carefully and find out a secured and conducive environment for you.

Rest well during the day: You cannot cheat your body and get away with it. If you over labour yourself, then reading at night might be a world of absolute impossibility. If it is in your plan to rad at night, then ensure you have a good rest in the day. Plan your day properly to accommodate siesta which will help you stay awake at night.

Never stay in your room or on your bed: I want to recommend that you should not read inside your room, most especially if you are alone. Although, this is more of personal. I discovered that it does not work for me, yet it works for some few people. So check out what works for you and apply it. But if you are comfortable reading in your room, then be careful not to read on top of your bed. Reading on top of your bed is and indirect way of sending invitation letter to sleep.

Change your mindset: You have to change your mindset that the night is not only for sleep. Infact, we may not be so successful if all our night is spent on sleep, sleep and sleep. This mindset is a serious limitation which must be change for progress to be made. I have not seen, read of or heard of anyone who achieved a sky rocketing success without making some sacrifices at night. Ask yourself this question: Why do armed robbers use the night period for their activities? Therefore, you can convert your night into a more profitable time.

Have a group or team: Reading at night is better enjoyed with a group. Liverpool football club’s logo is, “never walk alone”. So I want to say that if you want to read at night, never read alone. Have your group. If you have your reading group, it will solve the problem of insecurity because in a group, you will be more secured. Also, if everyone in your group is seriously reading, you will find out that sleep will hardly have an entrance. So do not neglect the power of group reading.

Do not be over comfortable while reading: Try not to be in an over relaxed and over comfortable if you go for night class. If you stay in an over relaxed and over comfortable place or position, chances are that you might sleep off.

Walk around intermittently: At irregular interval, stand up from your seat and walk about to prevent sleep from taking charge. I had a friend in the university that when we go for night class and it seems as if sleep wants to take over, he will stand up and carry his book on his hand. He will be reading while standing and as such sleep would flee. May I encourage anybody reading this article that you must be desirous of success. No good sacrifice is too much to be paid to achieve success.

Use supplement: I recommend the use of supplements such as coffee, chewing gum, tom tom etc. when I go for night class, I make use of tom tom and chewing gum and they work fine. Someone said that when he wants to read at night, he gets a bucket of water and deep his legs into it till he finish reading. Others take coffee or cola-nut and they all work. So look for any of these and try it.

Understand what works for you: The climax of all these recommendations is that you must endeavor to find out what works for you. For example, if your plan is to read for four hours at night, then you must be able to know what time of the night will be good for you. Some might go with 10pm to 2am while others prefer 2am to 6am. Just understand what works fine for you and then apply it.

Never use lamp or candle: The last point is that make sure you do not use candle or lamp. Studies shows that they weaken the strength of your eyes. Also, if you want to read at night, then never use candle most especially. My brother’s friend, while preparing for WAEC decided to read at night with candle. While he was reading, he fell asleep. The candle burnt completely and then burnt the table and proceeded to his bed. He was badly injured that he could not could not complete the WAEC examination. Think about that. Why reading for an examination that you will not writing. This is a big risk and unfortunately, it is not worth taking. Most preferably, if there is no light, try using a recharge lantern or torch

In conclusion therefore, I advice that you apply these strategies and I give it a sure bet that they will work. I believe that this article has taught you how to read at night.

Education / Before You Start Your Project, Read This by chikachuks1(m): 11:35pm On Jul 23, 2018
It is very painful to know that many years after your graduation from the higher institution, your project works are been burnt with fire. This is because of the space they occupy and with the latest trend in innovation, some projects seems to be outdated in current time. So then, it will not be meaningful to keep storing these irrelevant project works in the store.

Think of it, if a department had 50 students 10 years ago, and then every year they admit and graduate students. If currently, they have about 150 students in the department, then think of how many people that would have been graduated from this department within these 10 years. So then, how do you think that the store where these project works are packed will look like?

Come to think of it, these projects cost thousands of naira. I heard a case whereby a particular project work costs about two hundred thousand naira. Then after the much expenses, these projects are burnt and abandoned. It is not just the issue of the high cost of executing the project, but then think of the stress you will undergo. Checking on your supervisor frequently and most times, he will not be in the office. Sometimes, they will demand that you come over to their house in whatever place they stay. Think about the continuous printing, correction and reprinting.

Most times, after all these stress and expenses, your grade might still not be nice. Think about the insults from some of the supervisors who lack good human relation.

But then, let me remind you if you know and then, if you do not know, let me inform you that Google was a project work carried out by Larry Page while in the university. It then means that there is a big problem with Nigerian education system. Well it is well known that the Nigerian education system is faulty. But then, we must play our own individual roles in a bid to ensure that our projects do not end up as trash. You project can also be the next Google.

Therefore, I have only one recommendation for your project work. But before I proceed to my recommendation, read my article on how to write your project without stress https://infoducation.com/how-to-write-your-final-year-project-without-stress/

Write Your Project With The Future in Mind.
This is the complete intention of this article. While you are choosing your project topic, I strongly recommend that you consider the future first. Larry Page considered the future before starting his project and that is why Google never died in the four walls of Stanford University.

Think about the money you will spend while doing your project. If you do your calculation well, you will agree with me that the money you spend on your project will start a mini business for you. Also, consider the stress you will face during the period of writing your project. If you do your calculation well, you will agree with me that if you put in such effort into a business, you will build a successful brand someday.

Then why don’t you consider starting your future business as your university project?

My suggestion is that you should not just do a project for the sake of doing a project. Money is difficult to get, therefore, it will be fully unwise to waste it into some kind of things. While you want to do your project, first think of your future aspirations.

Do you intend to work for someone or do you intend to be an entrepreneur. If you intend to work for someone, then this article is not for you. Just recommend it to a friend and perhaps, it might be meaningful to them. But if you intend to be self-employed, then this article is fully for you. Start that your future business today. Although, it is dependent on if your future business is in line with your course.

Your project should not be something you spend money, time and stress on and then abandon it for something else in the future. Once again, the resources you invest into your project is enough to build a strong brand with time. Be creative and innovative in your thinking. The success of top brands is that they start small and grow big. Therefore, if you start your business as a project, then you must be able to start small. Even the Bible exhorts us not to despise the days of little beginning.

Conclusion
This is the little recommendation I have for undergraduates. Many people graduate from the higher institution and begin to look for job up and down. Yet, they have prospective multi million naira business plan buried as a project work. Therefore, think deeply before fully deciding on what project to undertake.
THANKS and see you at the top.
Religion / How A Jehovah Witness Because Of Blood Transfusion by chikachuks1(m): 4:12pm On Jul 22, 2018
A young Nigerian woman has narrated the sad story of how a friend died due to religious beliefs. The young lady identified as Jewel Chika Okparaeke shared the tragic story on social media.

The lady who revealed that the deceased was a banker in Jos, noted that the sad incident had occurred after the man had an accident on his way home from work.

Okparaeke stated the man was immediately rushed to a private hospital where he was advised to do blood transfusion due to the loss of blood he suffered after the accident occurred.

According to the lady, the banker’s wife and family members who are Jehovah’s Witness members refused to do a blood transfusion. She explained that the doctors tried their best to convince the family and pastors but they refused to give consent.

The lady further noted that the story became more heartbreaking after the man who is also a Jehovah’s Witness member begged his family to give consent for the blood transfusion.

She explained that the family refused, claiming that the Jehovah would save him. According to her, when his younger brother who is a student tried to interfere the family moved the man to another hospital

“I am heart-broken!!! Lost a colleague in the industry to some religious fallacies. I am angry, I have been restless since I heard how he died. Bros is big top Oga in one of the Banks, He had an accident Saturday night on his way home, He was rushed to a very good private hospital, everyone can attest they are good. Bros needed blood urgently cos he had lost so much blood.

They called his wife and family and they refused to give consent to be transfused cos they are Jehovah witness, the doctors tried all they could, according to reports the pastors and others stayed put and refused. Where my heart shattered is that,I learnt bros was begging his family to help save his life, he asked they give consent, they refused and said Jehovah will save him if he wants.

His younger brother tried but the moved bros out of the hospital to the one owned by JW.. The younger brother is just a young student so he couldn’t do much to help his brother. Bros died in the JW hospital, I am broken. I am so hurt hearing this careless death. Do I have any Jehovah witness member as friends on my list? Why exactly do you people do this?

Religion / Archbishop Of Canterbury Talks About Peace Between Christians And Muslims by chikachuks1(m): 3:39pm On Jul 22, 2018
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby hosted the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Shaykh Dr Ahmad al-Tayyeb, to have a discussion on how religious conflicts can be ended and peace reign. In the meeting, top leaders of both Christians and Muslims were present because the leadership of both groups have inevitable roles to play towards religious reconciliation of both Christians and Muslims.

Anglican leaders from different parts of the world were present including the Bishop of Egypt, Rt. Rev. Mouneer Anis.

The Emerging Peacemakers Forum emerged from a meeting between the Archbishop and the Grand Imam in Abu Dhabi in 2016.

The Forum, which was held over nine days at Churchill College, Cambridge, and Lambeth Palace, gave the young leaders a chance to explore what makes their faiths unique and different while working side by side to address conflict across barriers of faith and culture.

It was run in partnership with the Rose Castle Foundation, Al-Azhar University, the University of Cambridge Inter-faith Programme and the Council of Muslim Elders.
http://www.christianityupdate.com/blog/christians-and-muslims/
Archbishop Justin Welby said: ‘The impact of these young peacemakers coming together has been even greater than we hoped. It’s been full of creative ideas. They have demonstrated their deep commitment to peacemaking in teams – of going together and building their capacity to be ambassadors for peace.

‘The days – we hope and pray – of the great World Wars may have passed, but all over the world there are conflicts of extreme severity. It doesn’t matter if you’re a conflict where one person is killed or where 1,000 are killed. If you are the relative of that one person, for you that is the ultimate conflict.

‘And so we need ambassadors for peace, at community, regional, national and international level. And they are coming up with ideas that I think will be literally world-changing. We are looking forward to seeing how this all develops.’
He told the participants: ‘Don’t let this investment of creative time and energy be wasted. Plan today for how what you have learned will be embedded, deepened, developed, over the years to come.’

As part of the visit, the two leaders hosted a dialogue meeting between Anglican and Al-Azhar delegations. The Anglican delegation included Bishop Mouneer, Bishop Humphrie Peters (Pakistan), Moderator Paul Sarker (Bangladesh), Dean Hosam Naoum (Jerusalem) and Bishop of London Sarah Mullally.

They also met with the Christian Muslim Forum to hear about their work and relations between Christians and Muslims in the UK.

The Archbishop and the Grand Imam were then shown the Birmingham Qur’an, one of the oldest surviving Islamic manuscripts, by experts from the University of Birmingham.

Archbishop George Carey and His Eminence Sheikh Mohamed Sayed Tantawy believed it was important to encourage learning and dialogue between the Christians and Muslims faiths.

It was agreed that there would be an annual meeting for the principals, alternating between London and Cairo, followed by a meeting of a delegation from the Anglican Communion and from Al-Azhar to discuss a topic of common interest and concern.

Education / Covenant University Graduates 238 First Class Honours by chikachuks1(m): 2:25pm On Jul 21, 2018
At the covenant university 2017/2018 Convocation conducted on 20th of July, 2018, a total of 238 students graduated with first class honours’ degrees.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Aaron Atayero, disclosed this during the university’s 13th Convocation, the Conferment of Honorary Doctorate Degrees and presentation of prizes to its deserving students in Ota.

The university graduated 1,887 students for 2017/2018 Academic Session. They comprised: 238 first class honours, 746 second class upper honours, 452 second class lower, 86 third class and 365 post-graduate students.

Miss Salami Toluwani, from the Department of Industrial Chemistry, College of Sciences emerged the best student with a Cumulative Grade Point of Average (CGPA) of 4.99. Atayero said that the graduates were not trained to seek but to provide employment and where they get employed, they should distinguish themselves as attested to by employers’ of labour.

“All over the world, our graduates are always breaking the grounds in many human endeavours,” he said. Atayero attributed the success and milestone achieved by the institution to the high quality of its teaching linked with high quality research.

He implored the graduating students to deploy all what they had been through in solving the nation’s problems: leadership, unemployment, poverty, wanton killings, infrastructural deficit and poor health services.

Also speaking, Dr David Oyedepo, the Chancellor of the university, said there was the need to redefine democracy in the country so as to surmount its challenges. He noted that leadership was not just about talking but taking the lead. Oyedepo said that leadership was not an endowment, but a product of outstanding accomplishments.

He said that the vision of the institution was to raise a new generation of leaders in every area of human endeavour, which would engender great changes in Nigeria, African and the world at large. “I implore you all to start thinking about changing and start thinking of solutions to challenges confronting the nation,” he said.

Oyedepo advised the graduating students to imbibe and uphold the core values of the institution. In a keynote address, Mrs Ibukun Awosika, the Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria PLC., advised the graduating students to identify every problem as an opportunity to proffer solutions to them, especially, those confronting the country.

Awosika said that the graduates had better opportunities because they had real value of education from a good university that impacted quality education on them. “Challenges do not destroy vision but they empowered vision,” she said.

Awosika, however, advised the graduates not to allow circumstances to overcome their sense of vision. She also enjoined them to seek knowledge with character, adding that without character, it would be difficult to actualise their dreams.

Education / Campus Politics: How To Win An Election In Campus Without Spending Much Money by chikachuks1(m): 1:24pm On Jul 21, 2018
Politics is not just a game for our fathers and elderly ones. Politics starts right in the campus. We have different offices at the Student Union Government (SUG) level and also at the departmental and faculty level. But then it is unfortunate that even at SUG level, candidates spend much money, running into hundreds of thousands just to win an election. But then most of them end up losing the election.

The sad part of the story is that most of the cash they spend during the campaign are borrowed funds. Students (who are still dependent on parents and sponsors) spend heavily on their campaign.
For instance, a friend of mine ran for the office of the Student Union Government (SUG) Public Relationship Officer (PRO) of my university and in a talk with him, he said he spent about two hundred thousand naira (₦200,000) for his campaign. Also, another guy who ran for and won the office of the SUG president spent over a million naira for his campaign.

Therefore, the admin of infoducation has come up with a tested and trusted practical guide on how to win an election in the campus without spending much. Although, I am not trying to say that you can win an election without spending anything. But then, your expenses and budget could be lowered and yet your expectations met.

START EARLY
The first point in this article is to start early. Many people leave everything until it is time to start campaigning. But sadly, that is one thing that kills politics. If you have interested in campus politics, then you must start clearing your way from the very year one. If you start early, campus politics will be sweet and enjoyable. Start from year one to socialize, network and make friends which will stand by you on the long run. For example, assume that every university has a duration of 4 years. That means campaign starts in 200 level second semester. It will be very wrong for you to sit down and wait for 200 level first semester.

Therefore, start up everything as early as possible. Make your intentions known to your friends so that when the time comes, you will not need much effort in convincing them on your interest again.

MAKE FRIENDS WITH SENIOR POLITICIANS
Another important point is to note is that if you must be involved in campus politics and win an election without spending much money, then you must make friends with those students who are in power. In the political term, they are known as godfathers. It is important to be close to them because they are already in the system. Therefore, they can provide meaningful guidelines as to how best to go about your political career. This process can be known as political mentorship. A friend of mine in the campus used this strategy and it worked out very fine for him. So give it a trial and I bet you, you will never regret that you did.

CAMPUS POLITICS IS NOT A DO OR DIE AFFAIR
In this aspect, I must confess that most people get it absolutely wrong. You must be informed that campus politics is not a do or die affair. When you turn it to a do or die affair, then I guarantee that you will spend more money than you budgeted and in turn, you will lose the election. When campus politics becomes a do or die affair, then it ceases to be called politics. Think about this, for every office, more than two persons contest, and at the end, only one winner emerges. So imagine if it becomes a do or die affair, how well will it be. Unnecessary expenses will be made on bribing people, which will in the end still not guarantee the victory. Therefore you must be wise enough to know that campus politics is not a do or die affair.

BE GOOD AND KNOWN BY YOUR LECTURERS
In my opinion, having recommendations from people of great reputation is one of the best thing we strive to achieve in life. In the campus world, if you can make your ways straight and be known by your lecturers, it will be an added advantage for you. When a lecturer endorses you for an office, he will go a great length to see to it that you win. But then, how do you gain lecturers recommendations? You must be nice and good. You must perform well in their courses. You must always be present in their class during lectures. You must be fully involved in other things that will make you spotted out for good.

FELLOWSHIP
In the world of campus politics, fellowships are fully inevitable. If you are well known in your fellowship, it goes a long way in helping your political ambition. Assuming you are a catholic, you will agree with me that in almost every campus, catholic students are much. If so be, if you are a member of the Nigeria Federation of Catholic Students, you will be on the advantaged side. Though, this does not limit it to the catholic students only. But the point is that you should be actively involved in the fellowship as well. It will garner additional points to your political ambition.

BE GOOD
Apart from been good and known by your lecturers for recommendations, it is very important to be good to students. If you must succeed in campus politics, bear it in your mind that it is students who will vote for you. You do not manufacture votes from anywhere. Therefore, you must endeavor to be good to them. A man who has friends never cries alone. If your friends love you, many of them will support you financially and otherwise. So do not neglect them. Write your name boldly in their hearts by your good deeds. A popular adage says, “a good product sells itself”. If you are good, you have solved a lot of problems already.

In conclusion, these are the few points that I recommend for every campus politician. If you read the four points above very well, you will find out that they are summarized in one. That is be fully involved. Be involved in everything that is necessary for your career. Of a truth, if campus politics is played well, it will be so much enjoyed. Stick to these recommendations and if you have more, use the comment box to drop them. Enjoy your political life and make sure you have fun. save your money and use it for something else, because there are lots of things that needs your money.

Education / How To Identify A Genuine Scholarship by chikachuks1(m): 1:10pm On Jul 21, 2018
There are many was to identify a fake thing, but only a few ways to identify a true or genuine one. I have outlined eleven points on how you can identify a fake scholarship, click on the next link to read https://infoducation.com/fake-scholarship/, but here are six ways to identify a genuine and true scholarship.

1) Organisations’ reputation
Every scholarship should be published on the organisations’ website. This is the simplest and easiest way to ascertain if the scholarship is true or fake. If it is on the organisations’ website, the next thing is to check for the reputation of the organization. Every true and genuine organization treasures her integrity and reputation a lot. With the explosion of the internet, information are easily made accessible to people. Therefore, check for how reputable the organization is (most especially for the organizations you know nothing about).

2) Past record
The next way to identify a true scholarship is through their past record, except if this is the first time for the scholarship to be awarded. But if not, information on the past record of the scheme should be available. Verify how the last one was conducted, if it was not dubious, if people actually won etc.

3) Attestation and recommendation
Another way of knowing if a scholarship is genuine is through the attestation and recommendation from past beneficiaries. At least, we know that no right thinking person will speak ill of what he/she has benefited from. If you can get in touch with some of the people who have benefited from the scheme in past year, it will be nice.
https://infoducation.com/genuine-scholarship/
Although this process is for those organisations that you cannot guarantee their reputation. But let me caution my readers at this junction that make sure you do not believe everything you see on the media. If a fake organization wants to dupe people, they could pay some people (whom you do not know) to come online and say lots of good things about them, even when those things are not true. Therefore one on one interaction (most especially with the people you know) will be better.

4) Clear information
In every genuine scholarship, there is no information to be hidden. Every information is clearly spelt out. Some might say that there are hidden secrets to win a particular scholarship, therefore you should do this or that to get the secret. Nothing like that exists. Every organization provides clear information on their scholarship scheme.

5) No guarantee
Since the scholarship is opened to everyone, it therefore means that everyone has equal chances to either win or lose the scholarship. Nobody will ever assure you that you will win.

6) It has a requirement
Every scholarship has requirements. Therefore check for the requirements before applying. No scholarship is opened to everybody, no matter how rich the sponsors might be. As such the requirements are clearly spelt out.

Give it a trial, if you gain the scholarship, you will not regret it. Although you must be careful in seeking and searching for scholarship information because there are lots of dubious guys out there. These guys use this scheme to dupe some innocent applicants and collect their money and you will never see them or trace them and worst of it all is that there is nothing you can do. They print fake application forms and sell it for an amount. Chances are that you might not see them again or even if you see them again, they keep formulating fake information. By so doing, you stand the risk of losing the money you should have used in something better. Be very careful my friend not to fall into the wrong hands.

NYSC / What Your Need To Know About NYSC Orientation Camp by chikachuks1(m): 3:53pm On Jul 20, 2018
I write this article for the benefit of all prospective corps members in the country. The NYSC orientation camp exercise is indeed a sweet but tedious experience. Although it has a lot of fun attached to it because it is once in a lifetime experience. As someone who was formally in corps member in Uburu, Ohaozara L.G.A. Ebonyi state of Nigeria, I have lots of practical knowledge on how the orientation camp looks like. Therefore, I want to use this opportunity to throw more light on the camping exercise what you expect and what is expected of you.
To start with, it is important to know that the NYSC scheme is divided into 4 parts which are; Orientation camp, Place of primary assignment, Community development service and passing out parade. We will work on bringing relevant articles on each of these arms. But for now, this article addresses Orientation camp. The orientation camp is the first stage of the NYSC scheme which starts within less than a week after printing your call up letters.
The resumption into the camp takes place within the first two day of the exercise. Thus, registration begins immediately. The registration ends around 12 mid night of the second day. Therefore, it is advised that as much as possible, no matter how far or near you stay from the camp, try to avail yourself on the very first day. If you miss the registration on the first day, you can register on the second day. But if you miss the registration on the second day, the portal closes and never to be opened. Therefore, at this point, the only available option is to go back home and wait for the next batch to get re-mobilized.
Upon registration, you are given your platoon. There are 10 platoons in the camp. The last digit of your state code number becomes your platoon. But if the number is 0, it means you are in platoon 10. Also, after this registration process, you proceed to opening of account in which NYSC will use to pay your monthly allowance. Representatives from the bank will be at the orientation camp which means that there will be no need to go outside.
NOTE: During the orientation camp, you are not allowed to go outside the camp except on permission which must be for health reasons or when preparing for the carnival. When preparing for the carnival, about 2 people from each platoon are permitted to go outside in order to purchase some important items which will be needed.
The third day of the orientation camp is the swearing in ceremony and at that time, you are no longer referred to as prospective corps members but rather corps members. The swearing in ceremony is done by the governor of the state where you are deployed or his representative. The orientation camp is fully regimented. This means that every activities has been timed and you might not have much time for yourself.
Every day, you wake up around 5am for the morning devotion and parade and go to bed around 10pm. The morning parades last till about 7:30 to 8am. Then you go for your morning meal (breakfast). For this breakfast, you need to present your meal tick in order to partake out of it. The meal ticket is given to you immediately after registration. The orientation camp activities include the following;
1) Morning devotion and Parade
2) Breakfast
3) Morning lectures: This is also a very important part of the orientation camp. The lectures here includes but not limited to the following; Custom and tradition of the land, Security lectures, CDS lectures, Entrepreneurship, HIV/AIDS, SDGs, NDLEA, SAED etc. do not miss any part of these lectures.
4) Break/lunch
5) SAED: Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development. The slogan of SAED is Corps members creating wealth
6) Registration
7) Afternoon parade
cool Compound cleaning/sanitation
9) Fellowship: There are basically 3 fellowships in the orientation camp which includes; Nigeria Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF), National Association of Catholic Corpers (NACC) and Muslim Corpers Association.
10) Dinner
11) Social activities at night
12) Sunday activities etc
Each of these activities are important for all corps members and as such do not think to miss any. Although there are some groups or unit in the orientation camp in which corps members can function. They include; Band group, Orientation Broadcasting Service (OBS), Red Cross, Medical and more. For those who cannot cope with the kind of food been prepared by the orientation camp kitchen, the camp market, also known as mammy market is available for your service. But spend prudently.
During the orientation camp exercise, the Director General of NYSC visits the orientation camp. Although, most time it is done by his representatives because he cannot be everywhere at the same time. His visit is always accompanied with the donation of a cow. This cow is used for the carnival on the second to the last day on camp.
In going for the orientation camp exercise, you are to go with the following items. Note that for the documents in which photocopy will be needed, make as many copies as possible else prepare to pay higher to run the photocopy in the camp.
1) Statement of result, original and photocopy
2) Green card, original and photocopy
3) Medical fitness test result
4) Call up letter
5) University Identification card
6) Passports photographs (about 15 copies is advised)
7) White shorts
cool White t shirts
9) White canvass
10) Waist pouch
11) Food flask and cutlery sets
12) Bucket
13) Torch light
14) Nice clothes for Sunday service
15) Nice clothes for carnival (preferably jeans)
16) Bed sheet
17) Mosquito net
The following items are not allowed into the camp

Education / Re: How To Identify A Fake Scholarship by chikachuks1(m): 5:18pm On Jul 14, 2018
Take note of all these for they will be of help someday
Education / How To Identify A Fake Scholarship by chikachuks1(m): 1:21pm On Jul 13, 2018
As much as you are trying hard to lay hold of a scholarship, it is important to inform you that anything that has original also has counterfeit. Due to the economic hardship and greed, you see people who come up with fake scholarships information and application form for sale. Students who do not thoroughly verify will unfortunately fall into the scheme and get duped of their little resources. Therefore, here are some ways to identify scam or fake scholarship.

1) When you are asked to make payment: As earlier stated, the aim of scholarship is to ease students of the great financial burden while studying. Therefore, any organization that want to help reduce your financial load will never request payment from you for application. But in some cases, there could be middle men who could help you with the application (for those who are not computer literates or lack facilities for the application) and in turn, demand a service fee. Yet you must be informed that organizations will never demand a fee from you for application. Therefore, run away from any organization that demands an application fee before or during application.

2) Sponsors are unknown or not specified: Every scholarship must have a sponsor. Most time, sponsors do not hide their identities. You might hear some say that “the sponsors of this scholarship do not want to be made known for some reasons”. Be careful, because there are tendencies that it’s a scam. For example, you see scholarships adverts like “Apply for Federal Government Scholarship”, it simply means that it is sponsored by the Federal Government, MTN foundation Scholarship is sponsored by MTN and so forth. Therefore, never take the risk of applying for scholarships that has unknown sponsors.

3) No specified deadline: Every scholarship must have an application deadline. For example, companies that run promos never do it for a lifetime. Every promo has a start and end date. In like manner, scholarships must have deadlines for application. Therefore any scholarship adverts that claims that you have all the time to apply is not a genuine scholarship.

4) No web link for application: We are currently in the era of pervasive computing and as such, everything has gone digital. Organizations (local, national and international) now runs their own website irrespective of what the product or services may be. Therefore, every scholarship must have a website link through which applications can be submitted and information verified.

5) Unclear information on the scholarship: Every genuine scholarship provides clear information as regards their offer. The information to be made available for every scholarship includes but not limited to; name of sponsor, opening and closing date, eligibility, requirements etc. Therefore, ensure that these information are clearly spelt out before you apply, else, it is a scam and fake scholarship.
https://infoducation.com/fake-scholarship/
6) When such information is not specified on the organizations’ website: Since every scholarship has a sponsor, and most or all the organizations that sponsors scholarships have a website, therefore, the information must be published on the website. So therefore, when you hear of any scholarship opening, go the sponsors website to check for information on the scholarship before applying. If an organization does not provide information on the scholarship that they are providing, then I do not think any other person or organization has the right to do such. There could be some cases where the sponsors could outsource the application to a third party organization, yet they should provide information on their website.

7) No contact information: It is also noteworthy that every scholarship should have contact information. This is to enable applicants clarify their doubts on some issues. Therefore, when there is no phone number or email provided, then beware of them. Also, it does not end in providing contact information, but make sure that the contacts are active and working. If it is a phone number, your calls must be answered. If it is an email, you mail must be replied. If you send a mail to the email address they provided and after 3 days (except during weekend) it has not been replied, then you must be careful, there are tendencies that it is a fake scholarship.

cool Untrusted websites: Also verify the website that avails such information. We have scholarship blogs coming up daily, and to stay on top of the game, many of them publish scholarship information that are not true. All the want is their money and as such could do anything to make it. So make sure you verify the source of your information. Any scholarship that is available on only one website is a fake scholarship.

9) When you are requested to send you details to a private email: Another important point to note here is that your application should not be forwarded to a private email address. If an individual whom you know wants to give you a scholarship, all he needs to do is to hear from you and see some of your documents. If he requests that you send your documents to his private email address, there is no problem with that. But for a scholarship that is opened to many people, your application should not be sent to a private email address.

10) When you are offered a scholarship you never applied for: Some people could act funny be sending you a message that “you have been offered a scholarship, therefore for more information call the following number”. Did you apply for that scholarship? If no, it is a fake scholarship. If you call the number, you will be asked to pay a certain amount to process the application, which I listed as the number way to identify a fake scholarship. If you applied for the scholarship, then the next question is “did you undergo all the stages in application such as writing examination”? If you applied but have not written the examination and you get such a message, then be sure that it is a fake scholarship. Halt the process there.

11) When you are given a full assurance on the scholarship: The last point I want to make on how to identify a fake scholarship is that scholarships are not opened to one person. Every applicant has equal chances. Therefore if there is any scholarship in which you are been promised with a 100% assurance that you will gain it, beware of fake scholarship. There are rules and guidelines to be followed to win a scholarship and you must follow them if you want to indeed win a scholarship
