Someone told me getting a 0.7 or 1hp is ok to do the Job because of the low voltage we have but I feel getting something within 1.5hp might do a better job.

I now understand you properly. We thank God for life. The automatic will do you just fine. Just to add, the only con I have felt is accidentally pressing the key which can leave your gate open. Something of such happened when my young daughter got a hold of the remote and starting playing with it. The gateman of the opposite building had to put a call to me somewhat around 11pm to tell me my gate was flung wide open. I quickly rushed to close and do a security check round the compound

For security reasons I sacked my gateman (security). Am thinking of getting an automatic gate, any advice on the brand of machine to use and how much it will cost for the full installation.

Automatic gate might never replace the functions a gateman carries out but it saves stress attributed to the controls of your gate.

I use centurion d5 and it's been up and doing. I haven't fixed or repaired anything yet. I just grease from time to time. I think the machine cost about 350-400k then. Not sure how much it'd cost now judging from inflation
