•The first Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos was an Igbo man named Professor Eni Njoku.

•The first Nigerian Rector of the then Yaba College of Technology was also an Igbo man

•The first Nigerian Professor of Mathematics was an Igbo man named Professor Chike Obi – the man who solved Fermat’s Last Theorem. He was followed by another Igbo man named Professor James Ezeilo, Professor of Differential Calculus and the founder of the Ezeilo Constant.

•The first Nigerian professor of history was an Igbo man Professor Kenneth Dike who also became the first black vice chancellor of the University of Ibadan.

•The first Nigerian Professor of Botany was an Igbo man named Professor Eni Njoku. He went on to become the very first vice chancellor of the university of LAGOS.

He was followed by the likes of Professor Alexander Anumalu who has been nominated for the Nobel Prize for Physics three times for his research in Intermediate Quantum Physics.

•In Nuclear Physics and Chemistry – again another Igbo man – Professor Frank Ndili who gained a Ph.D in his early ’20s at Cambridge Univesity in Nuclear Physics and Chemistry in the early ’60s. This young Asaba man had made a First Class in Physics and Mathematics at the then University College Ibadan in the early ’50s.
First Professor of Statistics – Professor Adichie who’s research on Non-Parametric Statistics led to new areas in statistical research.

•What about the first Nigerian Professor of Medicine – Professor Kodilinye – he was appointed a Professor of Medicine at the University of London in 1952. He later became the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka after the war.

•Philosophy – Professor G D Okafor, who became a Professor of Philosophy at the Amherst College USA in 1953.

•Economics – Dr. Pius Okigbo who became a visiting scholar and Professor of Economics at the University of London in 1954. He is also the first Nigerian Ph.D in Economics.

•Theology and theological research – Professor Njoku who became the first Nigerian to earn a Ph.D in Theology from Queens University Belfast in Ireland. He was appointed a Professor of Theology at the University College Zambia in 1952.

The Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) has a record of the state with the highest number of professors in Nigeria and as at 2014 that state is Imo State. You can go to this commission and verify.

Anambra state was the first in WAEC, UNITY SCHOOLS ENTERANCE EXAMS, NECO AND PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Therefore, whenever some people address you Igbos as mere traders and Keke riders, tell them that in addition to doing very well in business, science, technology and SPORTS you are also ahead in academia. No amount of hatred can change blessings from God.

Hehe... if its removed for this kind Buhari Goverment then NIGERIA will be like a house on fire anyway its already on fire
EdoNation:
The Senate has commenced the process of amending section 308 of the 1999 Constitution which gives immunity to president, vice president, governors and deputy governors in the country.

A bill sponsored by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege (LP, Delta) on the immunity removal has been referred to the Senate Committee on Constitution amendment chaired by the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, Daily Trust reports.

The bill proposed the substitution of subsection 308(2) which reads “the provisions of subsection (1) of this section shall not apply to civil proceedings against a person to whom this section applies in his official capacity or to civil or criminal proceedings in which such a person is only a nominal party”, with a new section.

The proposed amendment reads, “the provisions of subsection (1) of this section shall not apply to, (a) ‘civil proceedings against a person to whom this section applies in his official capacity or to civil or criminal proceedings in which such a person is only a nominal party’.

It (b) part reads, “criminal proceedings connected to, related to or arising from economic and financial crimes”.

It’s sponsor, Omo-Agege said like in the US, the president and the VP, governors and their deputies should only be immune from civil actions arising from their official actions while in office.

“They are not entitled to immunity from litigation for actions not germane to their work. For example a president or governor who buys a car for a child and refuses to pay can be taken to court while in office,” he said.

“Also like in the US, there should be no immunity from criminal investigation or prosecution for crimes committed either before or while in office.

“Recall that Mr. Spiro Agnew while a sitting VP under President Nixon was tried and convicted for tax evasion while in office. Bill Clinton as a sitting president was hauled before a grand jury by Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr for perjury (lying under oath) while in office as president.

“Finally, Elliot Spitzer as a sitting governor of New York was tried and convicted for illicit solicitation for sex”, he added.

The sponsor believe that if the amendment is passed, there will be sanity, transparency and accountability in the Executive Arm of government, especially “Treatment of our state resources which most of them currently treat as slush funds”.

stephengee:
What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, some would simply say an online currency.

I see it as the next level currency. Look at it from this perspective.... From trade by barta =cowries =paper currency = cryptocurrency.
Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency which is independent of governmental influence i.e Bitcoin is not influenced or controlled by any govt.
Cryptocurrency is an online currency that can actually be converted to real cash with ease worldwide
So it can be spent like we spend naira and dollar, but not physical Cash.
Bitcoin is the first of it kind and it started in 2009 by a Japanese man called Satoshi Nakamoto
Bitcoin as a cryptocurrency has gained worldwide recognition owing to its value and reliability

At the moment, when I checked today ,1Btc is equivalent to about 829dollars, and its 440,000 naira today -can u beat that? You can check to now in google, just type 'dollar to bitcoin conversion'

A man invested 27USD then in bitcoin for the purpose of knowing more about it, was doing a project on crypto currency... Now the 27USD dollar worth of Bitcoin, fetched him 850,000USD after 5years

Five years ago 1000btc = 1 dollar, today 1btc=829 dollar
So, here we've come to see how we can make some Bitcoins. We are here to sieze a rear opportunity to lay hold of this wave-making currency with a very very little amount and then multiply it with the speed of light if we want to.
Very interesting and we won't want to miss out.

Due to some rules on this platform, we won't like to go deep into talking the program on here. Drop your contacts so we can add you to our training group where we will divulge the necessaries and I promise you won't be disappointed.

The slender plot of land should contain ur personal house. If the back side is stretching into another street , double entrance system may suit well besides it has to be more than a bungalow to achieve full functionality. The other plot of land should be used for commercial commercial building in other to serve its purpose effectively.

Politics / Re: President Buhari Has Failed Nigeria, But PDP Needs Restructuring by ChikezieU(m): 12:11am On Aug 07, 2016
TonyeBarcanista:
It is a truism that President Buhari and his APC party have failed Nigerians, and even went as far as denying their campaign promises, hence, doesn't deserve a renewal of their mandate in Aso Rock and all other positions in 2019. However, the PDP of a party(and their sub-parties like my Palmchat friend always call the LPs/APGAs etc) should never be considered as a replacement for obvious reasons.

1. PAST PDP GOVERNMENTS ALSO FAILED IN THEIR CAMPAIGN PROMISES:
I have seen some comments from some PDP loyalists lamenting that Nigeria is missing Goodluck Jonathan, and I keep shaking my head. To those who may be unaware, President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011 made a whopping NIGHTY-ONE campaign promises which includes creation of 1.5 million jobs within 2years, To construct 2 world scale petrochemical plants, 2 fertilizer plants and 2 fertilizer blending plants, To build a $3 billion central gas processing facility by 2012 to be sited in Obiaruku Delta State, To attract $25 billion worth of investment into developing the country’s gas infrastructure, To create 600,000 new jobs in the gas industry, zero tolerance for corruption, transform Nigeria economy in 4 years, modernisation of ports, and so many GIGANTIC promises that can be seen here https://ogala./2011/11/18/president-goodluck-jonathans-91-campaign-promises-help-identify-those-he-has-delivered/ http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/sunday/index.php/top-stories/15666-reopening-jonathan-s-bag-of-many-promises

Just like Buhari, the last PDP administration didn't fulfill up to 2% of their promises despite the fact that they presided over oil boom period that traded at $100 per barrel in their time except late 2014.

2. PDP AND APC HAVE CORRUPT TRADITION
The administration that pledged zero tolerance for corruption became the most corrupt administration in the history of Nigeria, sharing our monies with their equally corrupt APC friends and willing civil servants. This corruption did not start from the last administration but they took it to the highest level. Our Reserves was heavily depleted from $47. 7 billion (As At December 31st, 2009) that the last administration inherited to meagre $30billion, while the Excess crude Account that Jonathan inherited at $6.5billion in February 2010 was depleted heavily and left at a meagre $2.1billion in 2015 www.thisdaylive.com/articles/excess-crude-govs-want-3bn-shared/82376/. It is a truism that within February and August 2010, Jonathan along with his PDP colleagues and APC friends deleted the ECA from $6.5billion to a meagre $450million www.vanguardngr.com/2010/08/fg-draws-down-3bn-from-excess-crude-account/. It took Ngozi Iwaela to come to the rescue to up the ECA to $9billion between 2011 and 2012 www.cp-africa.com/2012/12/03/nigerias-excess-crude-account-eca-more-than-doubles-in-one-year-as-it-rises-to-about-9-billion/, but like the corrupt tradition in both APC and PDP, the $9billion was again depleted by the Political leaders from both camps and their affiliate camps, that are always available to partake in the sharing.

In this APC administration, we have been hearing budget padding to the tune of hundred of billions, the shielding of political associates of the administration in the ongoing corruption war, the billions demanded by Lai just for China trip etc. It is even worse that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, his Deputy, minority leader (who is PDP) and some others were fingered in padded looting at the expense of our ailing economy. It is even a shame that they are justifying the fraud, and the ruling party is looking at political solution instead of judicial punishment.

Can we forget so soon the secret recruitment of PDP/APC elite kids in CBN and other agencies?

3. BOTH PARTIES ARE FAILURES
Imo state led by APC couldn't meet a simple obligation of paying workers for over seven months, Edo state is also owing workers, also Nasarawa, Benue, Kogi, Oyo and several others. The case is not different from PDP states of Ekiti, Ondo, Bayelsa(oil producing along with Ondo) etc.

While the FG led by APC is crying that we have no money, the government of Buhari was busy giving FOREX subsidies in the tune of multi-billions to people on pilgrimage from both the Christian and Muslim faiths. Similarly, the PDP administration in Rivers state that has pledged to stop foreign sponsorship for indigent students and even withdraw those on scholarship due to paucity of funds is the same administration that pledged to continue spending on Pilgrimage for Christians and Muslims in the state http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/08/wike-to-continue-sponsorship-of-pilgrims-to-israel-saudi-arabia/. If this is not failure I wonder how one can define failure.

4. PDP WILL NEVER CHANGE
When some of us joined PDP, we did with the mindset of working towards a structural change in the party that would allow space for credible people. Despite the fact that some young people expended their all to see to that change, the corrupt elite that OWNS the party has refused to repent. The same people that were fingered in looting our resources from both parties are the same people being courted by the PDP. Bukola Saraki that is undergoing trial for acute corruption is more like a god to PDP. I was even ashamed seeing PDP HOR member Tony Nwolu defending Speaker Dogara on this budget fraud. Look at the calibre of men aspiring to lead the party, the Bode George, Gbanga Daniel etc. The party is not even sober at all, just like their APC colleagues. What a shame.

5. PDP AND APC ARE HYPOCRITICAL ABOUT RESTRUCTURING
While Ekweremadu the Deputy Senate President has been shouting RESTRUCTURING, he has failed to make case for it when it matters most. As DSP since 2007, Ekweremadu has always been the Chairman of Constitution Amendment Committee but he has never for once sponsor a bill for true federalism/regionalism/or whatever. Same way APC chieftains that has been shouting TRUE FEDERALISM but have never for once agitated for it in constitution review since 1999 despite the fact that Nigerians in their majority yearned for it. These people(APC and PDP) will deliver great speech about federalism and receive standing ovation, but they won't lift a finger to make such proposal in any of the amendments. In every amendment, their focus has always been life pension, immunity from criminal prosecution and "sharing" among themselves.

I make bold to say that the real factors against the progress of Nigerians is never tribal or religious differences but the political elites within APC, PDP, and their allies.

6. AS MUCH AS NIGERIA CANNOT AFFORD APC RETENTION, SHE ALSO CAN'T AFFORD A PDP COMEBACK:
Make no mistake, APC has a mission to deplete Nigeria and frustrate Nigerians, but PDP is like an hardened criminal that has vowed never to repent despite several rehab sessions. To PDP, it is okay to be corrupt and then cry witch-hunt at the end of the day, while to APC it is okay to be corrupt as long as you maintain saying "Yes Sir" to the APC gods.

Nigerians should be prayerful because with the calibre of men around PDP, we will be in bigger trouble if we make the mistake of bringing back this party to power. While APC is playing draft with our common sense, PDP is scheming how to return to power to replenish their financial loss. PDP as a party is not tired of sucking our resources, hence, promoting men that are having one or two corruption cases as front-men.

As a country, we need opposition but we have a responsibility to ensure that PDP Rest In Peace, while patriotic young people assume the role of opposition. It is unfortunate that some of us over the years tacitly/innocently aided the fraud of both miserable groups thinking that there will be internal change but it has been proven that these corrupt parties are not ready to change.

I shall pause here for now hoping that my message is well understood....

May God Bless Us All and Bless Nigeria
then what is the way out

Kindly advise my teacher friend.
He got his current job late last year and he is paid a monthly salary of 65k plus free accommodation. The salary is very regular and he gets at least 13k by the end of every term. Before the end of the just concluded term, the management of the school directed that every staff should reapply for the position they currently hold or any other position they deem fit to occupy.
Meanwhile, the management had told them there is no room for renegotiation. So, they were subjected to fresh written and oral interview this week shortly after fresh applicant did theirs. Although, he is confident he will scale through, the threat and stress of the just is becoming unbearable.
Just yesterday, he got an offer from another school (new school) to be paid 75k but without accommodation. He is considering leaving his current job taking the new job while he waits for his July salary to be paid.

Is this really a wise decision?
