I'm not sure what the problem is.. But you are supposed to have a reserve water tank close to your radiator..

Check on your radiator, when you close the radiator with the Cap (cover), there is usually one small outlet where water still escapes from. That tiny outlet, get a hose and work that hose to the reserve tank, that way u have water efficiency within ur cooling mechanism. You have more water to be heated and cooled, you have not only the radiator getting hot but also the reservoir, that way the radiator and reservoir would conduct more heat hearby reducing the heat on the engine..

I had similar problem with my BMW but that was exactly what I did. I changed the radiator to a 3 cell radiator, channelled nose of the radiator, (where it breaths from) I channelled it to my reserve tank, automatically my reserve tank was where I used to store water for my Wiper..

That way, no water was wasted whatsoever. Water just kept recycling. Only water that u lose is the one that turns to vapour or the one u lose by convection..

Every morning I top up the radiator with just as little as a glass of water, to show u that water never really escapes from my system any longer.

You are lucky u use a golf and not a BMW..

Anytime a BMW over heats, u have to bleed the radiator to make sure there are no bubbles or air-space within the engine

Your car is still overheating huh

I doubt you can drive 18hours non stop in this state.. It will become pronounced

You are not supposed to top any coolant for months, even years..

All you do is inspect the coolant level, just to be safe-guarded.

Get it checked

May be a range of faults. Scan the car first. Mine pointed to fuel pump. Changed that and sign went away.

Would suggest you go for the Honda Pilot, Honda is number 2 car brand after Toyota, Acura MDX 2003 has limited off road capabilities, low resale value due to scarcity of spares here in Nigeria.

And acura was produced by mercedes ba huh

@ OP, you need a scan.

Blinking cel can mean a whole lot, just like a static cel light..

There is obviously a problem.

But blinking cel does not denote the extent..

If the light is steady. The problem is not an emergency, but you should schedule an
appointment as soon as possible.
A blinking light usually indicates a severe engine
misfire allowing unburned fuel to be dumped into the exhaust system. There it can quickly raise the temperature of the catalytic converter to a point where damage is likely, requiring an expensive repair. If this occurs, you should reduce power and have the vehicle checked as soon as possible.

Here is what you've got.

P0606

P0606 - ECM/PCM Processor Fault.

Possible causes:

- Engine Control Module (ECM) Harness
power supply circuit is open or shorted
- Engine Control Module (ECM)
Programming
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

What to do:

Check the ECM fuse, if fuse is OK try
erasing the code first and if the code
comes back you may have to
reprogram or replace the ECM/PCM.

When is the code detected?
Indicates the ECM has experienced an
internal memory fault.

Possible symptoms:

- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine
Soon Warning Light)

- Engine may not start

P0606 Description:

The Engine Control Module (ECM)
continuously monitors its internal
memory status, internal circuits, and
output signals to the throttle actuator.
This self−check insures that the ECM is
functioning properly. If any
malfunction is detected, the ECM will
set the code and illuminate the engine
light.
