lilkech: It’s like you seldom go on road trips. All ‘major’ interstate bus transport companies were mandated to install speed limiter devices in their fleet sometime in the last year or so. This means those busses don’t exceed 100kmph on the highways these days.
Unless your car isn’t mechanically capable of reaching such speeds I don’t see the reason why doing such on a federal interstate highway will be synonymous with buying a one way ticket to meet your maker.
If you leave Lagos by 4am you’d be over the head bridge by 1pm and in owerri by 2pm. Just remember that once you get into Onitsha and take the flyover towards owerri the road is terrible and holdup will eat another 2-3hrs of your journey except after climbing the bridge you immediately take the next turn to your left at the demarcation in the road and follow the next turn to your right which will be like your going through a market. If you take this road you’d bypass the bad portion of your Onitsha drive and be on the highway to ihiala under 20mins after crossing the head bridge. Would definitely use this route. Thanks. |

lilkech: op, Na Dakar rally? This one wey you pack spare parts full boot so
Relax, it’s a straightforward road. Just follow the Toyota hiace (hummer) busses you see and watch out for the bypass. Before you know it you’re in Asaba.
Safe journey Sadly, I won't take this advise. It's one of the Fastest way to die. Thanks for the journey wishes. Leaving lagos 04:00GMT. Not any second later. |

double3: A 12 hrs trip with spare fuel pump, spark plugs and 2 etrxa tire speaks volume of the car. OP if u ain't certain about the condition of ur car u might wanto start by embarking on shorter trips say 2-3hrs observe the performance and know what u might need to fix before embarking on longer distance. Prevention they say is better than cure. Anything can happen. Remember it's an automobile. |

After contemplations and consultations, I will be embarking on a road trip from Lagos to Owerri. I remember in the past people updated us with their inter state road trip experience. But in recent times, I haven't had the pleasure of such entertainment.
Although I have had several inter city journeys, this will be the first documented one.
I will be updating as events unfold.
Vehicle details : 2005 Ford Mondeo 2.0L Duratec Auto transmission.
Departure place and time: Surulere lagos; 04:00 GMT. Destination: Umunehi, IMO state. Estimated travel time- 10-12 hours. Will solely depend on google voice navigation(make e no carry me enter bush sha). |

donfortune48: Those guys are wicked.
I had a terrible encounter with them 2weeks ago.
Got a request to chevron drive from mm1. Got to pickup, rider was already on standby just after the car park entrance. But there are cars at his front so he directed me to drive forward a bit. I have to move just out the small gate at mm1. Immediately I stopped, one of them clamped me with those their big iron wager. And rider was just about to open the door, I locked my doors back immediately, reversed back to escape, they clamped my back tyre with another one. I climbed the one in front with speed, and it got stuck under my car making serious noise as I drive and there is little traffic at my front. People started shouting that I will spoil my car, but I no send any one. I kept moving small in the little traffic till the thing got out from under my car, but affected my right fender. They rushed me immediately, trying to open my door. but luckily the traffci at my front cleared and I sped. One of them by my right side dragging my door handle fell down and rolled on the ground. Those in front respected themselves and cleared. I drove straight to the Conoil just before the express, rider called me and apologized, begged me to wait at the Conoil, he'll treck to meet me.
I waited till he got there and proceeded with the trip.
Those guys are heartless. This part sweet my belle gan |

Crvrider: It's actually 4.9km from A to B. 14km is your actual location to pickup and it reads 49min.
This how i do my analysis when accepting a ride on indriver:
If my location + pickup + destination = 1hr then do 1100-1300 If my location + pickup + destination > 30min & < 1hr then do 700 -800.
In a nut shell I need to be making anything from 1100 -1300 per/hr and 600-800 per/30min You are correct. My emphasis was on the additional information. Lol |
