Mother of a 3-day-old baby, Mwuese Keleve,  has been arrested by the Nasarrawa Police Command, for reportedly killing her child and dumping the corpse in a river.

According to the State's Police PRO Idirisu Kennedy, the lady who has confessed to committing the crime, but did not gave any reason for her action, was arrested after they received report of corpse of a baby in Kaderko on Monday.

He said: “Based on preliminary investigation, the woman is sane and has admitted to committing the crime.”

Speaking on the incident, Northern City News reports that the suspect's husband Fanen Peter, who revealed they've been married for 15 years with two kids, and it beats his imagination that his wife will kill their third child.

17-year-old Megan Morrison, who gave evidence in court saying that she was raped and sexually assaulted by her 74-year-old grandfather Malcolm Harrison, between the ages of 8 and 10, has written an emotional note to her grandmother after her grandfather who denied the pedophile charge killed himself because of the accusation.

Miss Morrison, of Sinfin, Derby, who stood by her rape story which has resulted in an estrangement with her 62-year-old grandmother Vivienne Harrison, wrote in her letter;

'I still love you.' 'Everything I said was true. I know it's hard to believe because he was your husband. I miss you so much....Please don't hate me." .

'I just want her back. We used to be have such a strong relationship. I have written nan a letter telling her that everything I told the police and said in court is true and that this did happen to me.'

Speaking on the heartfelt letter, Miss Morrison said that she knows it is hard for her grandmother to believe because he was her husband, however and she didn't say anything because she didn't want to lose her. 'I love my nan so much and I just want her to believe what happened to me and we can be friends again' she said.

'I would take her back in a heartbeat. He would say to me 'don't tell your mum, this is our little secret'. But when I was 10 I told him if he didn't stop then I would tell someone and the abuse did stop then," she said.

The teenager's mum added:

When I found out about the allegations, she started crying down the phone saying she didn't want to lose her nan. I told her that we had got to do the right thing and we called the police. The reason we are doing this is because we want Megan to get her relationship back with her nan.

"I don't care what my mum thinks about me, I just want her and Miss Morrison to be friends again. When she was born my mum used to help me with Miss Morrison. She was going on holidays with her, Miss Morrison used to do some baking with her - she used to do absolutely everything with her.

"After dad was arrested I called mum to say sorry but she just put the phone down. She hasn't spoken to me or Megan for a year."

Malcolm Harrison was found dead in a burning car in a suspected suicide, on the final day of his trial before he could be convicted of any offences. Police believed he doused his vehicle with petrol and set himself alight at Sinfin Moor car park.

Coming after it was reported that Mavins singer, Reekado Banks was denied Visa for his 'Thank You Concert' to U.K which got him depressed, it has also been gathered that another Nigerian singer Solidstar was also denied visa by the Italian embassy.

According to an LIB source;  

'Solidstar applied for a Tourist Visa and was denied'. The singer who is gearing up to drop a new song titled 'International Woman' may have to postpone his European Tour as another source tells us, 'Solidstar has been denied by the Italian embassy twice in less than one month. He is supposed to go on Europe tour and tickets has been on sale already.  It's really depressing especially with the fact that he has US visa/work permit on his passport already'.

A suspected thief, Madabuchukwu Unamba, who also works as a bus conductor was arrested yesterday by operatives of Imo security Network Oru West, for same offence he served a one-year-jail sentence for.

The native of Ebonyi state who confessed having once escaped from Police cell, broke into a shop, alongside his driver accomplice, Nwa Papa, and stole eleven (11)Vehicle batteries, one (1) Tiger Power Generating set as well as five (5) mobile Phones. A fake policeman, David Fashina , who was nabbed in uniform, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command. Fashina who is also a motorcycle rider, allegedly stole two phones from a man in Abeokuta, Ogun State while wearing a police uniform.

Tribune reports that the suspect who was paraded last weekend at the police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, was arrested when one Dr Eniola (surname withheld) reported to the police that he was robbed of his two phones by a syndicate of two, one of whom was dressed in a police uniform.

Speaking on the incident, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu said;

“On the receipt of this information, Inspector Ajayi Ayodele, attached to Public Complaints Bureau, was detailed to investigate the case. In the course of investigation, the suspects were arrested and the phones were recovered from them. We also discovered that the suspect who operated with police uniform does not belong to the Nigeria Police Force. He only impersonated.

“Any policeman without an identity is not a real policeman, and the public should know this. The public should continue working with us so as to bring those who act as fake security agents to book,” Iliyasu advised.

Confessing to committing the said crime to newsmen, Fashina disclosed that he's an Ekiti State indigene, but residing at Obantoko area of Abeokuta. According to him, t he committed the crime when he went to pick a commercial sex worker who was his customer.

"After picking the lady, I saw a man who was drunk and sleeping inside his car nearby, and I saw two mobile phones in his car. I picked the phones, took one and gave the lady the other one. I sold the one I picked for N90,000.” When asked how he got the police uniform, he used, Fashina said: “My father retired as a policeman; his uniform was only found in my luggage.

In her chat with Daily Sun, Former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN 2005) Omowunmi Akinnnifesi pointed out that most children in Nigeria, especially girls lack good morals and integrity. 

Omowunmi who also talked about being a Fashion entrepreneur, further talked about her family, her man, her sudden weight gain, her growing up days and so much more. Here's the interview;

What led you into fashion of all businesses?

I wanted to do a business that would make people call on me regularly. I have this knack for empowering women. There are several other things I intend doing to empower women but among all these interests is my passions for making people look good. I love to make women dress elegantly. I want something that would make the women to be able to carry themselves nicely. The first thing they need to do to beef up their image is to enhance the way they look. So, I started with enhancing the physicality of women. I’m going into other things like enhancing women mentally and enhancing her soul as a woman in the society. I started with what women looks like, and adapt that to her image. I know it sounds something like a cliché, but that was the reason I went into fashion.

Do you have a fashion or grooming school since you mentioned your desire to empower women?

I intend going into international imaging and etiquette. I want to teach women not only how they should appear but how they should also behave and this is important. When you come across some of our children these days, especially the girls, you would notice they don’t have integrity anymore. They lack morals and manners and these are the things that make a woman. These are part of the content. The new generation of youths is not growing with our culture, so we need to retrain them on how to behave. They have to imbibe the culture of respect for elders and how to behave like a proper lady. They also need to learn how to host visitors; do fine dinning; how to speak, sit down, talk; eat certain kinds of food.
We hardly train people on some of these things in Nigeria. People don’t believe they are necessary. But it’s very important. I attended Queens’ College, Lagos and way back then; they used to teach us these things. But these days, the students are only taught Maths, English and all those important subjects but as for moral etiquette, it’s no longer there.

So, part of your vision is to establish an etiquette school, how soon will that happen?

I wrote a business plan for that in 2009. How old was I then? But I never got around it. I was in London College of fashion. That was after I completed my masters at Kings College London. This is the way to start and from there, it will graduate. I’m also into photography. I have a studio. We started with our photos for the fashion brand. We also stated taking shots of women and children, pregnant women, just anything to make the woman look good; anything to enhance her beauty. The few photos we have done for pregnant women or a woman and her daughter, they are so happy, I don’t believe I’ll look like this ooh, they scream. I have not been happy with this pregnancy but this picture, I will blow it inside my room. It makes women happy; it makes them feel more beautiful. I’m also into construction, public relations and several other things. This is Nigeria, and you have to be hardworking. My friends said I do every business. I know I don’t look it but I’m very hardworking.

Did you inherit this aspect of work from your dad or mum?

My dad attended Yales University. My dad was a scholar and an executive director at the Central Bank. He was very hardworking and my mum was a career woman. She works with Lagos State government. My dad was also a diplomat with the West Africa Clearing House in Sierra Leone. My parents are very career-driven and I want to believe that’s where I got these things from.


You are a beauty queen turned businesswoman, what lessons have you learnt about life?
I have learnt that one needs to be humble. Humility, diligence, discipline, and perseverance, determination are recipe for success, especially in Nigeria. Anything short of those things won’t get you where you want to be. You must be able to treat everyone well, even when people don’t treat you right. Treat them with love. Love conquers all. You never know what anybody could become tomorrow, so don’t you ever look down on anybody. Life is full of up and down. Appreciate God wherever you are in life and maintain your faith and your hope in God and you will be lifted up..

Although you have added a little flesh, you still radiate that beauty that won you the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria crown several years back, what’s the secret?

The added weight was deliberate because I wanted to fill up a little bit. It’s a sign that I’m really taking care of myself. I have a very good heart, thanks be to God. I sleep peacefully. I forgive people who wronged me and when I wrong people, I also ask for their forgiveness. Nothing makes me ugly inside or outside because I have a peace of mind. When you see people not looking good, it’s because they are worrying or they are holding a bit of heaviness inside. Once you have a light and forging mind, you would always look beautiful no matter what your physicality is like. You will always radiate. That is what makes me radiate.; it’s the peace of mind and favour from God.

Tell us a bit about your growing up years?

I grew up in Sierra Leone. I had my early education in Freetown. My dad was a diplomat in Sierra Leone.

After your reign as beauty queen, you did a secular job?

I was into a lot of things before I went into fashion. Currently, I’m Nivea brand Ambassador for West Africa.

How do you relax?

I have good friends. I keep good company. I walk with people who keep me company; people who enhance my soul. I cherish people that have the same morals; the same standards and the same views about life. These are people who keep me going. I watch movies, I mean, good movies and I read books.

Can you throw light on Omowunmi ready-to-wear brand?

Omowumi is a woman with a social lifestyle. We have five stores in Lagos and Abuja well stocked with clothes. We do smart casuals, events wears for women. Most of the materials she can wear from daytime to night time. The brand is for vibrant women that always want to have confidence in themselves. We have our head office and factory in Ikeja. Sometimes, we try to get our fabrics from different countries like Indonesia, Turkey, India, Korea, etc.

How far with Mr. Right?

Very soon.

Who is your kind of man?

A man who fears God. Just leave it at that.

You sounded like a pastor?

That’s one thing people don’t know about me. Since the day I won the pageant, I have become God-fearing. It was by God that I won the beauty pageant. I have always been God-fearing. A lot of people that met me later on were surprised at what they saw of me. When did you become this? They kept on asking. Is it because you’re getting older? I replied them No. People that knew me very well…. infact in my house they used call me pastor. But people don’t know that maybe because the way I look, or the fact that I did the pageant, I’m a strictly God fearing person and I’m still relevant because of the grace of God on my life.

Nollywood actress Anita Joseph, who had a chat with DailySun, disclosed that she's taking her time to avoid making same mistakes her colleagues which crashed their marriages.

Anita who talked about marriage, motherhood and her butts which men find irresistible, further disclosed that she's not scared of getting pregnant.

Polish-born Yisrael Kristal, who was officially recognized as the world's oldest man by the Guinness Book of Records in March 2016, and the only member of his immediate family to survive the Holocaust has died at the age of 113.

Yisreal, son of a religious scholar who is survived by two children, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren, died on Friday, August 11, 2017 just one month before he was due to turn 114.

Maternity shoot? The story below will really get you emotional!!

When Amanda and Jesse Snyder learnt they were expecting their first child, they were overjoyed. However Jesse who stood by his wife throughout the first months, died in a tragic accident on May 27.



"He was there for every appointment, he was there right next to me when I was so sick I couldn’t leave the bathroom or my bed, and he did everything he could to show his love to me," Amanda told HuffPost.

For her maternity shoot, Amanda who wore a blue dress and posed for photos by photographer Shanna Logan at Logan’s family farm in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, decided to include her late husband in the photos. It was also gathered that She had picked out a matching shirt for Jesse but she ended up using it for his burial outfit.

Logan said she had never Photoshopped a lost loved one into a picture but she had seen other photographers do it so she used photos of Jesse from a few months before his death to bring Amanda’s vision to life.

Amanda gave birth to Jameson at 6:37 p.m on August 2. Throughout her labour, delivery and postpartum recovery, she kept a photo of Jesse next to her. Coincidentally, Logan called her and left a voicemail to say she’d finished the photos at 6:36 p.m. - the same time Amanda welcomed her child.

Amanda was overwhelmed with emotion and began to cry when she saw the photos the next morning. Logan shared the maternity photos on Facebook, where they’ve reached nearly 10,000 likes. Amanda said she did not expect her photos to go viral, but has been touched by the kind words she’s received from strangers, especially other women who have lost their partners.

She said the photos depicted the things she felt for her husband and best friend. She said: "These pictures show the love I have for him and how much I miss my best friend and my soul mate. I may not have been able to have him by my side in the flesh, but I believe he was there in spirit, which is what these pictures represent to me."

She added: "The hardest part was leaving the hospital and not having my husband be the one driving us home for the first time and knowing he wasn’t going to be there to help me.

She said her father and close friends have come together to support her. Amanda says she’ll forever be “Jesse’s girl." She hopes Jameson will inherit some of his dad’s wonderful qualities.

"My son is the most amazing gift Jesse could have left me with. He has this grin that is exactly like his daddy’s, so when I look down and see it, I see my husband," she said.

A Nigerian was spotted today protesting today at Abuja house, London. He was calling for the return or resignation of the sick Nigeria's President Buhari, who has been on medical vacation for more 91 days.

However President Buhari's aide on social media, Lauretta Onochie claimed the protest today failed due to lack of supporters. She also revealed that the few who came for the protest took to their heels after the police were called.

Here's the Press Release from Anambra State Commissioner of Police on Ozubulu Church Attack;

'Gentlemen of the press, I welcome you all to this press conference today 6th August, 2017. The purpose of this briefing is to intimate you on the shooting incident that happened this morning. At about 6.30hrs of today, 6th August 2017. I got a distress call that gunmen had invaded St. philip Catholic church Amakwa in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo LGA while the mass was going on and shot at worshipers. Police teams along with other sister security agencies under my direct supervision were deployed to the scene to rescue the worshippers. Victims were evacuated to the hospital, and the hospital authority has confirmed 11 persons dead, and 18 injured as a result of the shooting.

The Executive governor of the state visited the scene while I was there, and assured the injured persons of his support in offsetting the medical bills and that the full wrath of law will be visited on the perpetrators. The Command under my watch will leave no stone unturned in locating and prosecuting those behind the massacre of innocent worshippers.



The Command assures Ndi Anambra and the general public that the Police is on top of the situation and will locate and prosecute the perpetrators soon. Intelligence report/Preliminary investigation shows that the incident is as a result of a feud between two individuals who are from the community but who live outside Nigeria, one of the individual we learnt, built the church where the incident occurred. It is definitely not a terrorist attack in the mould of boko haram or fulani herdsmen attack.

The Command views this dastardly act as sacrilegious but for now considers it still premature to disclose the identities of those involved in the act. The Command will brief the public after investigation is concluded. I commiserate with all those who lost their loved ones from this unfortunate incident and pledge that the command would not rest on its oars until the perpetrators are apprehended to face justice. I want to also encourage Ndi Anambra to be vigilant and to report strange and suspicious movement of persons and actions in their locality to the security agencies promptly, please. 32-year-old Johnson Musa, was arraigned before a Lokoja Chief Magistrate Court II on Friday for allegedly taking photos of the Abuja residence of Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, with a drone camera and posting it on social media, with caption;

“This building is owned by an individual in Kogi where hunger is the people’s first name.”
According to his prosecutor, Musa’s decision to share the photos online threatened and exposed the state governor and members of his family to danger. However Musa’s bail application was opposed, even though he pleaded not guilty to the offense as investigation are still ongoing.


It was also gathered that the penalty attached to the offense was 10 years imprisonment or option of a minimum of N25 million fine upon conviction.
The Chief Magistrate, Alhassan Husaini said by virtue of Section 36(5) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (As Amended), the presumption of innocence of the accused was constitutionally guaranteed. He then granted Musa bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum and that the sureties must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court.
The case was adjourned to August 17th.

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, is not slowing down in his campaign as Anambra State Governor as he has continued making his intention known on Instagram. 

The actor who said he will be running for the governorship seat of Anambra state come November 18th this year, says at 35 years, he's no doubt the perfect candidate to serve the People of Anambra as Governor.

Here's what he wrote; 

"No wonder the people of France elected 39yr old Emmanuel Macron as President, the President of Ireland, Leo Varadkar is 38yrs old, the current Emir of Qatar is 35yrs old. 
This is so because the Western world have understood the urgent need to fix the problems of the masses which must be met by young, vibrant, intelligent and decisive leaders. 
They have understood that public office is not a retirement place. 
We must not be left out.
At 35, there can be no doubt that I'm the perfect candidate to serve the people of Anambra as Governor.
The problems of Ndi Anambra have come to THE LAST BUS STOP!!!".

It seems there's going to be several face-offs in the Nigerian music industry, following Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) chairman Tony Okoroji's rant, slamming the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) for petitioning the Information and Culture minister, Lai Mohammed, who they accused of stealing their idea.

Okoroji on Thursday tweeted;

Okoroji said, ‘I am shocked by the efforts being made by some of my colleagues and friends in the name of PMAN to discredit the historic Creative Industry Summit and to drag the minister’s name into the mud.'

Reacting to this, Ruggedman who is a member of PMAN, tweeted;

 'Mr Tony Okoroji u are an elder in every ramification.Going on social media to rant on an issue u know nothing abt is not elder like'.

Even though he has said multiple times that this would be the final individual race of his career, Usain Bolt who came up short in the final individual race of his career, finishing third in the 100-meter dash at the World Track and Field Championships in London, will always be remembered as the world's fastest man.

Bolt still broke ten seconds, finishing with a 9.95, but was a hundredth of a second behind American Christian Coleman and three hundredths behind gold medalist Justin Gaitlin. Bolt will still compete next Saturday in the 4x100 relay.

Since breaking into the spotlight at the 2008 Olympics, Bolt has been the face of track and field for nearly a decade, breaking records in the 100m and 200m. Between his dominance on the track and personality off it, he will go down as one of the greatest Olympians in history.

Gaitlin, while thrilled with his championship, took a moment to praise Bolt after the race.

"We're rivals on the track but in the warm-down area we still joke and have a good time," Gatlin told BBC Sport.

"The first thing he said to me is, 'congratulations, you worked hard for this'. He said, 'you don't deserve the boos' and I thanked him for inspiring me throughout my career."

However, Gatlin claimed the continually frosty reception in London had not fazed him.

"I tuned the crowd out through all the rounds," he said. "I stayed the course, I kept my energy through the semis and came to the finals and did what I had to do.

"The people who love me are here cheering for me, at home cheering for me and that's what I've been thinking about."

The American said the feeling was "surreal" but relished in taking the top step of the podium and recalled his triumph at the Olympic Games in 2004.

"It's just a surreal moment. I thought of all the things I would do if I did win - I didn't do any of that," continued Gatlin.

"It was almost like 2004 all over again. I won by a little margin and to be able to come across the line and have that excitement it's still amazing because its Usain Bolt's last race.

"I've had so many victories, so many losses, and to be able to run against him throughout the years, it's an amazing night."

20-year-old Michelle Carter has been found guilty of manslaughter, for sending her late vulnerable boyfriend text messages encouraging him to kill himself.

A Massachusetts judge sentenced Michelle Carter to two-and-a-half years in prison on Thursday for urging her 18-year-old boyfriend, Conrad Roy III, to commit suicide via phone conversations and text messages in 2014.

Roy poisoned himself by inhaling carbon monoxide in his pickup truck in 2014, following hundreds of text messages about suicide shared between the two, and a phone call in which Carter told him to “Get back in the fuckin car.”

“Hang yourself, jump off a building, stab yourself,” Carter wrote in just one of her texts to Roy.

Juvenile Court Judge, Lawrence Moniz during the sentencing said, 'this court must and has balanced between rehabilitation, the promise that rehabilitation would work and a punishment for the actions that have occurred'.

Moniz sentenced Carter to a two-and-a-half-year term with 15 months in jail and the balance suspended. plus a period of supervised probation till 2022, which started on Thursday.

Tried as a youthful offender, Carter faced up to 20 years in prison. However, because she was 17 at the time of the crime and allowed to remain free on bail following her conviction, experts believed she’d receive a light sentencing with little to no jail time — the focus being on rehabilitation over punishment.

White House communication director, Anthony Scaramucci, who was just employed 10 days ago by U.S President Donald Trump, has been fired after he was caught in crude verbal tirade against other senior members of the president’s senior staff.

The wealthy New York financier's sack was revealed by three people close to the decision said on Monday, as it was gathered that his employment convulsed an already chaotic White House and led to the departures of Sean Spicer, the former press secretary, and Reince Priebus, the president’s first chief of staff.

The decision to remove Mr Scaramucci, who had boasted about reporting directly to the president and not the chief of staff, John Kelly, came at Mr Kelly’s request, the people said.

According to New York Times, Mr Kelly made clear to members of the White House staff at a meeting Monday morning that he is in charge.

It was not clear whether Scaramucci will remain employed at the White House in another position or will leave altogether.
