Speaking at the 6th National Edition of the Quranic Recitation Competition, Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar, expressed how worried he was at the rate social media is keeping youths especially girls from their studies. 

According to him, if girls who are nerve center of our moral and societal development derail, the whole society will be in danger because they are our mothers and care givers.

“There is a disturbing development where the attention of students is being diverted from their studies. This is through the use of various social media like Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, 2Go and Instagram, among others.

“The rate at which girls are spending time on social network is worrisome and this poses imminent danger to our society. Girls are the nerve centre of our moral and societal development and if they derail, the whole society will be in danger because they are our mothers and care givers" the sultan said

The traditional ruler urged youth, particularly girls, to stop spending too much time on social media at the expense of other engagements that would add more values to their life.

Mr. Abubakar advised parents to ensure that their daughters spend more time on meaningful things, like reciting the Holy Qur’an. “Doing so will make them better mothers and care givers’’

Tragedy struck in at Owharen Street of Ovwian in Udu Council Area of Delta State, after a man who caught his wife in bed with their errand boy reportedly set him ablaze at their apartment.

According to an eyewitness, the deceased had in the weeks past threatened to kill himself after his wife was reportedly caught pants down with one his male messengers in the area. It was gathered that the man returned home, locked himself,  poured fuel on his body and thereafter did set himself ablaze. The inferno affected other buildings in the area, destroyed properties worth millions of naira even though the man was burnt beyond recognition.

“Some few weeks ago, his wife, Blessing was caught pant down by their neighbours with a young boy who washes the Keke of the man. The boy is one of the boys whom he usually sent on an errand in the area.



Though the wife has since left his apartment, the man returned home that day, poured fuel on his body, barricaded himself inside his apartment with an iron bar and set himself ablaze ”, the source told newsmen.



Owner of the building, Mr Nyonren Egharan while lamenting the incident said;

 “ When the fire broke out, I ran to where the fire started from, broke into the apartment and tried to rescue the victim who held on to a chair and insisted that he wanted to end his life.

His action during the inferno that claimed his life fuels the suspicion that he may have set the house on fire by himself to reinforce the suicide argument . I sustained serious burnt from the raging fire while trying to rescue the victim. ”

According to Punchng, the landlord who claimed that all his life savings were consumed in the inferno appealed to the Delta State Government and Udu council to come to his rescue to enable him start life again.



A source at the Ovwian – Aladja Police Station also confirmed the incident, adding that the victim had been evacuated to a nearby morgue.

According to SaharaReporters, the Nigerian Police has reportedly arrested a man identified as Mohammed Kime for criticizing Senator Bukar Ibrahim who was caught in a sex video with two ladies.

This is coming after the Nigerian Senator said that he owes no one an explanation for whatever he did.

“This is a personal, private matter. What does my having been with a girl have to do with the public?

 “You know the normal thing. People ask for unreasonable things, and if you deny them, they try to blackmail you if they have a way,” Ibrahim, a former governor of Yobe State, said on Monday afternoon.

IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, who addressed elders and members of his group at his Ibeku residence in Abia State, after President Obasanjo reportedly told Nigerians to do everything possible to stop the campaign for the secession of Biafra, amidst accusation of assassination plans, has disclosed that his group would kill former President Olusegun Obasanjo if he attempts to harm the IPOB leader.

Ex-President Obasanjo who was the guest speaker at  launch of the biography of the late Brigadier Zakariya Maimalari at the International Conference Centre in Abuja,  stressed that a failure to put an end to the Biafra agitation could lead to a repeat of the 1966 coup and the other events that eventually culminated in the civil war.

Reacting to this, Nnamdi Kanu said;



“I remember Obasanjo calling us names. They said we must eliminate Kanu and for those words coming out from his mouth, he is going to die.

“I told Obasanjo that I have given instructions to IPOB should anything happen to me. Everything that comes from Obasanjo’s lineage will die the same day at the same time. It is a standing instruction to IPOB.

Wherever they are, we will kill them ourselves at the same time, the same day, 12 noon, wherever we find them all over the world. I am not like anything they have seen before,” Mr. Kanu boasted.

Wizkid ex-label Boss, Banky W, has waded into the feud between Wizkid, Davido and Tekno which also caught MC Galaxy and Cynthia Morgan in its web. Banky W who borrowed words from one of Jay Z's songs which made it to his 4:44 album which went platinum after one week, advised the artiste to stop feuding and focus on conquering the world.

Narrating how Policemen who should be protecting him robbed him at gunpoint, a Nigerian student who was the victim of this incident disclosed it all happened because he had Amber Rose's photo on his phone.

Music star, Adele, may not be going on tour again after reportedly cancelling her last two concerts in London as a result of damaged vocal cords she suffered.

The singer who performed at Wembley Stadium on two consecutive nights(June 28 and 29), was supposed to be on two more shows which 100,000 people were expected to turn up for. According to Variety, she reportedly inserted a note in the tour program handed out to fans, hinting that she may never go on tour again.

Adele who has performed at 121 shows since she began her on tour since 2016, performing at different venues all over the world including North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

On her Instagram post, Adele disclosed that she considered ‘miming’ for the last two shows slated for July 1 and 2 at the Wembley but couldn’t possibly do it, and will be making refunds if reschedules are not made.

A Nigerian Instagram user, @_jossyann, has taken to the social media platform to call out a Lagos Uber driver and also warn Nigerians to be on the lookout for the Hot uber driver, who has been identified as Mr. Oluwatobi.

According to Lagos Dancer, the uber man turned their  30-minute trip to 3 hours. Here's what she wrote;

"Hi my name is jossyann, a dance artist and a student of university of Lagos. I have been using uber for 2years now and I have never had such a devastating experience before. My initial story was a summary, here is the full version.

On the 28 of June 2017, I started a trip with Mr Oluwatobi (an uber driver) at 7:57pm at Isolo; my initial destination was Gbagada, but I changed my trip to Omole phase 1 which was ok by the driver. My battery was low so I sat in front to charge my phone. I noticed the driver was chatty and I stopped responding when he got personal.

At some point I noticed he was passing through dark and unfamiliar streets and I asked where we were and he said Bariga. I got worried and asked him why, he said he wanted to buy me food because he liked me. I declined and asked him to either drop me at my destination or I come down.

He continued driving, he then said he was tipsy and Hot that I should cooperate. I started making calls to friends to come to my aid because I was confused and afraid. He drove off through Yaba to different locations I was not familiar with (as shown on the map).

He persisted that he won't let me go until he had his way. I called my boss (director) to speak to him on speaker phone; he did and he advised him to take me to my destination in order to avoid problems; this infuriated the driver.

I threatened to call the police, after which he started driving fast and dangerously, at this point I was afraid for my life. He was driving around town totally off my route still trying to convince me to oblige. At some point in Ikeja he refused to stop at a police check at this point I started crying, praying, making calls and my boss called again and this time he was able to convince him to do the right thing or else he will be prosecuted.

Thankfully this time he took me to my destination. A journey of 30mins became the scariest 3hours of my life. I am grateful to God that I came out unharmed . I will like to make some clarifications, please continue reading in comment section"

After going on a honeymoon that signaled they will be living their lives as a couple officially, a Zimbabwean man Progress Walusi was heartbroken after he caught his wife of two months, Kudzai Juliet Mudema, a former nurse in Gweru, having sex with her ex- boyfriend identified as Lawrence.

Leaked WhatsApp chats, obtained by H-Metro,  reveals the discussion Walusi who got married to his wife at Muzimukhulu Gardens in December 2016, had with Kudzai’s sister Gulez over the issue.

The chats which were typed in English and their indigenous language started with:

For impregnating a nursing student of Ogun State College of Health Technology, Ilese Ijebu, a lecturer Dr Seyi Adu, who works with the school has been indefinitely suspended by the college.

It was gathered that Seyi's suspension for allegedly having sex in a hotel sometime in August 2016 with a nursing student of the school, Mosunmola, was posted on a notice board at the administration block of the college, where the academic community was asked not to have any dealings with him.

The married father of two, who agreed to pay Mosunmola a monthly stipend of N5,000 in addition to N7,000 for her ante-natal registration, reneged on their agreement after Mosunmola presented a list of items required for her delivery, which she valued at N50,000.

According to PUNCH, Adu was said to have refused the payment, claiming she wanted to turn him to a cash-cow. Mosunmola was later delivered of a baby boy at the General Hospital, Epe.

Confirming the incident, the college spokesperson, Ayodele Alaga said;

'It is true. The suspension is indefinite. We have severed relationship with him. He was an adjunct lecturer. We will await the final outcome of the investigation by the ministry of health.”

A badoo cult group member who was caught in the early hours of today, June 30, 2017, was reportedly burnt to death by angry residents of Igbo-Oluwo, Ikorodu, at Jumofak junction.

It was gathered that the deceased who was caught by 1a.m today and reportedly lynched and set ablaze around 6.45am, was in company of another suspect who is now at large.

It was gathered that two suspects allegedly robbed their bodies with oil, which is a major tactic of the dreaded Badoo gang that has been terrorizing residents of Ikorodu for long.

This is coming after it was reported that another member of the cult group, who have been killing families in Ikorodu area of Lagos, was also caught and lynched.

Nigerian student, Mohammed Mustafa Cengiz, from Kano State, who graduated yesterday 26th of June, 2017 from the Kazan Medical University Russia as the best graduating student, graduated with a 5.0 distinction (RUSSIAN RED DIPLOMA).

An unsuspecting 10-year-old boy who was on an errand for his mum, was exchanged for 3 bags of rice by a yet to be identified middle aged man who is currently on the run.

The incident reportedly happened last weekend at Prince Bus Stop, Isheri Oshun, while on the errand for his mother. The suspect who introduced himself to the unsuspecting boy as a relative, in an apparent move to convince the boy, followed him to the shop where he was sent to buy a bottle of groundnut oil and thereafter, took him to a shop where he collected three bags of rice, worth N48,000.

He then convinced the salesgirl whose name was given as Deborah, that he was going to get the money, while his brother remained with her. However, that was not to be as the salesgirl waited endlessly without seeing the stranger or the money for the bags of rice.

Here's what the salesgirl said when she was interviewed by Vanguard;

 “ When the man came to the shop with the boy, he asked how much was a bag of rice. I told him it was N16,000 and he left with the boy, saying he was going to tell the woman that sent them. “Moments later, he came back and said that he needed two bags.

Again, he called the purported person that sent them on phone and suggested that they should add one more bag.

“After the call, he told me to help him get a tricycle that would convey the three bags of rice to Fire Junction, where he claimed the owner was. He said the boy will remain with me while he went to get the money.

“After waiting for close to one hour without seeing him, I told the boy to take me to his mum’s shop at the said Fire Junction.

“But he said that his mother did not own a shop there and that the stranger only met him on the road and brought him to the shop.

“It was at that point that I knew I had been robbed. I alerted my neighbour, who said that the stranger must have used the boy as exchange for the bags of rice.”

Meanwhile, apprehension had set in at the boy’s house after his disturbed mother visited the shop, only to be informed that his son had left with a stranger. While a search party was combing the vicinity for the boy, the owner of the shop and the salesgirl, were sighted taking him to the Isheri-Oshun Police Division.

During interrogation, the boy told his parents: “After returning from the shop, the stranger asked if I knew where they sell bags of rice. I told him they were selling close to our house.

“But he said he did not want to buy there that I should follow him to buy elsewhere.

“I followed him because he introduced himself as my cousin. He collected the money I had with me to pay for the fare and told me to wait at the shop, that he would come and take me back home after dropping the bags of rice.”



The Police, however, released him to his parents same day with a directive to report back to the station yesterday, where a meeting between the boy’s parents and owner of the shop who insisted on getting the money for the bags of rice.

Nigerian rapper, Sauce Kid a.k.a Sinzu, who relocated to the United States, seems to be in 'hot soup' as he bagged a 2 year jail sentence for stealing $15,388 using stolen credit card numbers in Boise and Meridian. 

The rapper who has been said to be Dammy Krane's role model, According to the charge, reportedly stole bank card numbers and identifying information from their owners. He then encoded the account numbers onto blank plastic cards. All of the losses took place at Boise ATMs owned by Idaho Central Credit Union and at Albertsons stores in Meridian, court documents alleged.

According to Idaho Stateman News, he then used an automated system to change account PINs and was able to withdraw cash from bank ATMS and buy merchandise from stores between July 23 and 26 2016. 

Police arrested Sauce Kid at the Boise Airport as he was about to board a flight. He was caught with a card encoding device and more than $6,000 in cash.

It was gathered that before now, Babalola Falemi a.k.a Sauce Kid was initially charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, eight counts each of bank fraud, aggravated identity theft, and possession of 15 or more fraudulent bank cards.

According to Yomi, if they know that what they are doing is not good, if not they would not move about with armed personnel.

Nathan in the bible went to King David to convey God’s message without any fear or compromise but our pastors can’t do so. We are in this mess in Nigeria because our pastors are not talking. .

Nigerian starboy, Wizkid, who was the guest on a show on US radio station, Real 92.3 FM, revealed that his parents are still living in the ghetto, as they refused moving to the house he got them in  highbrow area in Lagos.

A Twitter user, @ _Kenenna, has taken to the social media platform to reveal how a 12-year-old boy secondary school boy who got jealous of a girl who got transferred to his school, almost killed her with an acid because she surpassed his initial record of being the first in class.

Though the name of the school in Lagos where the incident happened wasn’t given, however, the boy’s move was busted by his classmates who saw him filling acid in her water bottle when she wasn’t looking.
