Good job.
But how will that affect the shareholding structure?
That I do not know..

Naturally, it should be a debt, long term liability. And not affect equity and share
holding structure..
But it's looking more like equity stake for the foreign owners.

SEC is yet to approve the results of the RI was what I meant. So No, the debt was not "officially" offset by the proceeds of the RI.

SEC granting approval to proceed with a capital raise is different from approval for issuance and listing of new shares. Note 17 clearly states the later is yet to be approved.
You may be right.
May it's loan from the parent company converted as equity stake..

someone help me kalkulate this NASCON eps Q2..
3,612,570,000/2,702,427,145=₦1.33k not ₦5.35k on the result sheet undecided

Even if I use the old Ordinary share(2,649,438,378-before bonus issue), still wouldn't give me the eps in their results across all the time frame(except 12months ended 2023).

Plus the consolidated 6months eps is less than the EPS for the 2nd quarter 2024 only.

Gracias.🙏

It depends on your knowledge and how you play with figures.

look at the following scenarios with 1M Naira investments

1. Invested in NGX to buy for example, UCAP 4 months ago at N17 per share and sold above N34.
Asset value is now above N2 Million

2. Bought Tesla or Apple (USA stocks) which did average of 30% within same period
Asset value will be around N1.6 Million after all conversions

3. Bought USD with the amount and sell now. USD has gained around 20% over the Naira during this period
Asset value will be N1.2 Million

4. Invest in Bitcoin and convert back to naira. BTC has gained like 5% and when you convert this to naira
Asset value is N1.4 Million

During this period,
NVIDIA (USA Stock) which was high flying did about 37%
UCAP (NGX) high flying did 134%
Most money market fund are at average 20%
USD gained 20%
BTC because of fluctiations did 5%.

is it to put your cash in rental real estate and be getting 5% per annum as rents

The ultimate goal is to diversify. There are lots of investments and i can tell you that some USA stock did far better than select Nigeri stocks while some Nigerian stocks trump most USA stocks.

It's all about doing your due diligence and follow the money.

Some of my calculations may not be accurate but i just pass the message

Abeg oh.I no send watin anyone says about oando.I did not buy because of any recommendation. I bought based on personal conviction as a bet and added more because of my street sense.I see wale as street man too.And as a street sense .Why make what I would have achieved easily (delisting) more difficult or expensive for me now.The only reason I will do that is I have changed my mind or put it on hold to achieved something else first.
Do you know how easy it would have made delisting easy if oando remained on suspension in jse, bring out bad results like IB.This would have made the company look like a situation heading for the burial ground. The second shareholders who want to be joined in the case and remaining minority shareholders will be the ones begging him to come pay them #7.07.Wale na street like me.He was behind the first shareholders that went to court. He wanted to explore the legal system as I said long ago.
His dance step has changed and my too has changed .I am only trying to follow the money. I used this street sense for transcorp plc when it was 3 plus, chams less than .50kobo and equally saw it in dangota rice. Therefore I don't need anyone approval because it has not failed me.It is my money and not borrowed fund. And over 20yr of my life in this business is not a joke. My target for first buy is #20 and second is #30..This is sure bet for me

I know bro but i do sell my shares on Ucap and my ucap account is credited almost instantly to allow me but another shares instantly.
If You mean Ucaps own user (wallet) account? Yes, it'd credited instantly.
Same goes for other brokage firms.

But if you mean into your bank account(DCS), that is the exclusive prerogative of CSCS and it takes 3 working days and it's a free service across board..

But as Oga Emma has highlighted, some brokerage firms do offer extra services to credit your bank account directly instead of waiting for 3 working days while on DCS.
But as he also pointed out, this service is not free as you have to agree to their conditions of service (commission per annum from all your sell orders in a year).

Unless you are saying its a free service from Ucap where they credit your bank account(not wallet account) instantly despite you being on DCS? undecided

Okay bro, Thanks but then, does it meant Investment-One don't operate direct settlement to my stock broking account instantly? instead of waiting for 3 days after every transaction.
I opted out from the direct settlement so that i can be selling and buying stocks almost instantly rather than missing out from a trade due to 3 days delay
The 3 days delay is actually a process from CSCS and not a delay from the brokers.
The CSCS are incharge of direct cash settlement(DCS) of crediting your bank account directly not the brokerage firms.
Hence I believe the 3days is that way across all brokers.

Corruption endemic...

The embattled Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye has said that she was allegedly being victimised by some cabals in government because she refused to sign a $500 million World Bank loan request.

On July 10, 2024, a near physical confrontation between Kennedy-Ohanenye, and the House of Representatives Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development was averted at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, where the minister had appeared to clarify the controversy surrounding her alleged diversion of N1.5 billion meant for the payment of contractors by officials of the ministry.

But speaking with THISDAY through a phone interview, the minister said that “There is a $500 million loan that was meant to be signed by me, but I refused to sign. There was also a case of $100 million earlier as well. Find out what it was meant for.

“All the loans they collect, including World Bank loans, etc, are you aware that the same World Bank staff in Nigeria takes back 40 per cent and calls it consultation fees?

“These are things you people should look into. You people should focus on where the problem is and let them leave me alone.”

She added: “Now, my life is at stake because I refused to sign the $500 million loan. Let me tell you, if I sign that loan today, I am entitled to five per cent of the money, but I refused to sign it. It is part of why the National Assembly and all of them are after me.

“And that 40 per cent they take is a secret, I found it out. Why should anybody give us a loan and you still direct us how to use the loan, and you take 40 per cent and provide us with a consultant that will take it, and they will take it?

“I told them $100 million is too much to use to teach our women how to save money, we can teach them, let them bring the $100 million and give it to those women and use it to know what to do with their lives."

It is the beauty of diversity: you use your unique approach to arrive at your own estimate, and I used mine. You mentioned your years of experience as your basis; I described my method for those interested in my approach (though it's not for everyone). I'm happy that my result and yours are consistent.

By the way, it's not advanced calculus(it is not even my invention). It's just the standard discount method where you discount future cash flows (in this case, dividends) to present value. I assumed that dividends would grow annually by an average of 1% for the next 100 years. Each year, I discounted the dividend for that year back to today's value.

For example, considering treasury bills, 100 naira invested today will be worth 120 naira one year from now. So if somebody promises me 120 naira one year from now, discounting it to present value will give me 100 naira. Therefore, there's no difference between receiving 120 naira one year from now or 100 naira today (LOL, in finance ooo, but for me, you better give me that 100 today).

For the discount rate (equivalent to the interest you would get on bonds), we have variations over the years. I've seen 6%, 10%, 15%, and presently 20%. The challenge is deciding which one to use. So, I looked at past interest rates and determined the frequency of each.

The Monte Carlo simulation's job was to randomly use any of these interest rates, taking historical frequency into account, to calculate the dividend discount over a 100-year period. I ran the simulation 100,000 times and extracted worst- and best-case scenarios, which you saw above.

It's not a big deal. grin cheesy wink

You are wrong here.

The school can be punished in many ways. Denying the schools accreditations for certain programmes for a certain period of time can be a punishment. Sanctioning the VCs or the admission officers is another example. These two examples do not affect students.
Of course, I thought of Accreditation but it HEAVILY affects students..
Lectures can go on teaching and get paid but the professional body as well as employment chances low..

Yes, probably right, Education ministry probably through NUC can sanction VCs and signatories involved through withheld salaries, etc but it's a long bureaucracy..we know they won't go those paths.

Jamb is the only and major activist in this sanitization process and sadly JAMB has no power except during NYSC regularisation which again affects Students.. undecided

I would sincerely like where all courses in all faculties and departments in Nigeria are rated yearly by an independent professional body in Nigeria..

Provides better guide for students to choose reputable schools as well as reputable courses that that are top ranked.

Some schools operate on past glory on some courses. While there are low ranked schools with some top notch faculties and departments...

Instead of this global Rating from QS, Times Education, etc.. undecided

See List: JAMB Busts 86 Varsities, Others Making Illegal Admissions
Written by Henry Tyohemba 4 seconds ago
Horse Racing World Cup Underway In Nigeria
Analysis of data on the admissions conducted for the 2022/2023 academic session in Nigerian universities, polytechnics and other tertiary institutions of learning revealed that 88 institutions conducted admissions outside of the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS.)

According to JAMB, admissions conducted outside CAPS are illegal, null and void.

In a statement titled, ‘Cessation of illegal/irregular admission’, JAMB reiterated that all applications of admissions to First Degree, National Diploma, National Innovation Diploma and the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) into full-time, distance learning, part-time, outreach, sandwich, etc., must be processed only through JAMB.

The report tagged, ‘Compiled assessment of institutions on compliance with the 2022/2023 admission guidelines’, scored institutions who complied fully with admission guidelines 10 points; those with partial compliance were scored five points, while those institutions who failed to comply were awarded zero point.

Under the section for the conduct of full admissions on CAPS, our correspondent observed that 88 institutions failed to comply.

Some of the erring institutions are the University of Uyo, University of Abuja, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Yaba College of Technology, Plateau State University, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Federal University of Technology Owerri, Coal City University, Crawford University, Crescent University, Ebonyi State University, Rhema University, Borno State University, Chrisland University, Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Alvan Ikoku College of Education, and Chukwuemeka Odumegwu University.
