ositadima1: Sorry to bother you all with my nonsense. I'm heading back to work now, where I'll be calculating load flow, short circuit currents, motor starting parameters, and relay settings using ETAP software for my supervisors. It is burring, I swear.
I see sense in the nonsense Is ETAP the popular industrial standard for Engineering industry in Nigeria? I ve heard of AutoCAD used by many. Would like to know and advise a to-be Engineer to learn a relevant software tool after school. Dunno what tool is current nowadays.
Streetinvestor2: Pls still help on the question on how to post images, links and delete on this thread. I only sabi quote. And how to retrieve my old post
--->Post Images: when you click the usual reply or quote button to comment, you would see this choose file option button.
There are 4 in number meaning, one can only post a maximum of 4 images on a single post..
If you intend to post more than one image, you will have to complete each process at a time.
Each process will take you to the documents or gallery of your phone.
The rest of the process to select your desired image are internal processes which again depends on ur phone and storage location.
Once successfully uploaded, the name of the file is visible beside the choose file option button which you previously clicked.
Once you are done with the upload and your desired comment, you can then click submit. Attached is the choose file button (Circled in Red) below the submit button.
Omooloriredade: Speaking of contagion effect. I see an unrelated stock that could follow FMN. Maybe the manufacturing industry relationship is the connection?
Disclaimer - TA or charting is not my forte so please do not make a buy or sell decision based on this post. Not sure I really understand what I posted sef.
The only related connection I have is both have their strong base in Calabar-Crossriver state..
BabsO2: Perhaps due to no indigenous writing we don't have, "preserved records" of how the things we achieved came to be. Like the gold works in Ghana that the British took away as it was state of the art back then. Or the Benin bronze works that the British also took. And many other things that are of African origin like immunization that the West got from an African immigrant in America centuries ago.
You may have a point though.. Documentation would have helped preserve origins of ones creative patent even in the most informal of sectors..
Sha, with more literacy nowadays even if na indigenous languages, the next AI search you will do Sir from 2034 should have an African . Na we dream pass.
Several inventions and discoveries have been attributed to dreams:
1. Penicillin: Alexander Fleming's dream led him to discover penicillin in 1928. He dreamed of bacteria being destroyed by a mold, which inspired him to experiment and discover the antibiotic properties of penicillin.
2. Periodic Table: Dmitri Mendeleev's dream helped him finalize the periodic table of elements in 1869. He reportedly saw the elements arranged in a logical order in his dream.
3. Telephone: Elias Howe's dream inspired him to invent the first practical sewing machine in 1845. He dreamed of being taken captive by a group of natives who were dancing around him with spears that had holes in the tips, which led him to design the needle with an eye at the point.
4. Theory of Relativity: Albert Einstein's dreams and thought experiments contributed to his development of the theory of relativity, although he didn't directly attribute it to a single dream.
5. Paul McCartney's "Yesterday": The melody for the Beatles' hit song "Yesterday" came to Paul McCartney in a dream in 1965.
6. Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein": Mary Shelley's dream inspired her to write the classic novel "Frankenstein" in 1816.
7. Elias Howe's Sewing Machine: Howe's dream, mentioned earlier, also helped him design the first practical sewing machine.
8. Niels Bohr's Atomic Model: Niels Bohr's dream led him to propose the planetary model of the atom in 1913.
9. Robert Louis Stevenson's "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde": Stevenson's dream inspired him to write the classic novel "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" in 1886.
10. Srinivasa Ramanujan's Math Formulas: The Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan claimed that his dreams often revealed mathematical formulas and insights.
While dreams can inspire creativity and problem-solving, it's essential to note that hard work, dedication, and expertise are also crucial for turning dream-inspired ideas into reality.
Omooloriredade: You have an edge over the rest of the market if you know or understand what they do not. That is not to say the yr 2025 is guaranteed. They must hit the ground running now that some funds have been raised and hope that mother earth favours them. Let me not bore you with details of what they will need to do regarding their Gold exploration activities. They haven't really provided much update. As at last annual report, Diamond drilling was the next stage.
By the way, they are prospecting for other minerals too.
Some of their reporting is inaccurate but I can forgive them. On their website they claim their target is to achieve 30 million Gold ounces by 2028. That is just a pie in the sky. Silly forecast. Start somewhere first. Previously, they claimed they have 650,000kg inferred reserves of Gold. Likely incorrect too. Now according to this article, they have 637,000 ounces inferred resources of Gold which is more likely (an ounce of Gold is about USD2500 if I'm not mistaken). Maybe it's the reporters and secretary writing rubbish sha. 100 million ounces in this article again ? They need to convert it to "Indicated" resources then Proven reserves with further drilling. Before the Gold even gets to market, the day Japaul announces successful drill results (if they are successful ni o), leave story.........your eyes will see something.
👆Thanks for your perspective constructive praise 🙏
Streetinvestor2: I will rather tell someone to buy sugar if it is only based on future hope villa of 2025 and beyond. Alhaji hope villa still has facts as per the backward integration on ground and expanding farm.Have you consider the insecurity in the North whr this major gold sites are located. And you think 20B can make significant impact with any company trying to provide its own security thr.Let me tell you the truth. This is why I want to sell my okumu oil because of what that level of insecurity can do to a business .why is tompolo being the one handling the insecurity in the delta oil region. Did you see the cost to provide such services. The one in the North is not child's play bro.If they ask you to go to those states to work.will you agree. Na which foreigner go agree go do the mining in 2025 when even the state governors are helpless. Make owner just dey use japa oil dey do jijo for now...lo. As it stands now as person way stayed over 40yrs for North. I dey fear to drive from abj-kad-zaria-katsina-zamfara-sokoto-brinin kebbi which use to be my route as per grain/car business.
Thanks for your perspective. 👆Constructive Criticism 🙏
Omooloriredade: 2. They needed this placement finalised to make progress both with drilling and completion of the acquisitions (H&H and Covenant Gem).
They have 12 sites across the country but appear to be working on only 4 at the moment. I think they have ongoing GOLD projects in Osun, Benue and Niger. Taraba is the other state but for a different mineral. They acquired H&H Mines and Covenant Gem but it appears H&H's projects are more advanced than CG's. CG is at Eti-Oni, Atakumosa LG Osun state.
I can confirm to you Japaul had staff on site just a month ago. But like I said the fund raised is important for their next steps so I can't tell how significant their current on-site activities are.
And I understand your Sugar call. It's a safer bet. I put it to you that IF Japaul is successful with their exploration activities, Sugar/Nascon/Rice returns will be child's play (I can't believe I typed that. Totally out of character ). Everyone please go for Sugar that is less risky o.
👆thanks for further constructive praise🙏
Streetinvestor2: Yes you are right. The insurity in niger delta is manageable. The one in the North dey different level. The difference is that the guys in the delta still have value for human life. The guys in the North no see life as any thing. They are ready to die and I will tell you most of them are not real Nigerians. If I tell you what my eyes see for one of the market I went to in katsina for grains for brewery. I died inside me lol. This guys to kill is not what they see as unusual. It gives them the feeling oga Agba get in the other room. And if you are to employ such services it will be extremely expensive. You see this gold matter full ground in kaduna in the brinin gwari area.Thr is this kada hotel we stay when we tried the illegal mineral stuff. If I tell you watin I see all the way to mokuwa/tegna,neky in niger state..If you want good red beans na for thr.We lost big all cash on a bad day to this guys. You go to this areas in the bush with cash no banks
Omooloriredade: I don't think it's about a particular stock.
From what you have shared so far (Mr FBI/CIA/MI6/Mossad Person no fit cross your path o), I see a positive progression.
He was probably younger with youthful exuberance. He was reckless and overconfident. His sign off (Big Smart Guy) confirms this?
Today, he's a changed man. Cautious and more risk averse. His current sign off (Be Wise) confirms this? Which may suggest he learnt some bitter lessons from those days and does not believe in taking unnecessary risks any longer. You can't fault that.
However, emotional reaction to a problem pushes you to extremism. You fit hate mosquito so teh, you go wan bomb the room so you can be sure none escapes.
I could be wrong just my 2 cents.
Aside his Modus operandi, I see his consistency in excluding newbies in his endeavour to a large extent. Calling out experienced like minds who can take responsibility for their actions to mingle with him in stocks he clearly discredits but consistently telling newbies to stay off.
DeRuggedProf: My Posts above are just to show what GEM is doing across the globe. They may be stupid/wise in giving money to Jegede. Minority and majority investors at ALL TIMES play a different game on the same pitch...
From my little research, I agree with you on this. GEM are legit investors with diverse spread.
sky2891: Re-capitalizing the FBNQuest Merchant Bank with N50bn may not be the best considering the less than 5% profit made from the merchant bank.
They need to focus on the FirstBank recapitalization whilst making huge profit from the sales of the Merchant Bank. This is just my opinion. I also believe it is a good move.
Good take.. I Didnt consider the merchant banks also need capitalisation.👍
KarlTom: Countries are making the gradual transition to renewables and I believe that they should be commended AND emulated.
Nigeria 'lost' about 20years due to non refining.
One of the major reason these IOCs are ditching their assets is a transition to renewables
I don't think we should take this 'news' as a pinch of salt because, at the end of the day, they are our buyers...
Agreed they are. But how do one compare a transition to renewable that began about a decade ago to the highest barrel of crude ever transacted in the international market in just 2023? I have been expecting a significant decline.. But record sales are being broken
Streetinvestor2: That na story way the west want to dey use in buying our crude cheap. All that production happening in China is still powered by crude oil energy. Nobi only clean energy na dirty energy.
I agree as well.. Make USA first abandon their shale Oil.. I wan check sth. Germany na number one Russian-oil customer..
Streetinvestor2: If is true it is the reason behind the sel. Then God done save them because na thr family alone for buy any Po or ri from the nonsense they have been doing to shareholders
lol... I don't know the reason sha, it's just my opinion based on the timing.
Harvestock01: Do you advise that we should wait until then before buying or that those who are already inside to exit until there's PAT before re-entering?
Well he has made his stance overtime, his posts are mainly directed at newbies who may not have factored both right-hand n left-hand before making their decisions or about to make.. If you have made yours, you know the conviction you took.
Global Demands for oil crossed 100million barrels in 2023--Highest Ever!!. Yet the West n Europe dey shout Upandan-Climate Change, Electric Vehicle, Clean energy.. Who dey Demand the Crude? make dem dey decieve themselves..
. Make Africans use what they ve to develop themselves..
Na so University students don abandon research on fossil fuel development and enhancement like outdated field.. Everybody dey research and write on climate change and clean energy.
Fossil fuel ain't going nowhere even in the next generation.
kolaish: Does Oando has anything good in the past? But lately it returned more than 200% in less than 2 months. I talked about Japaul here when it was trading at 27k and people ignore it because of Japaul's past antecedents but ignoring the latest developments that tends to move it astronomically, the same stock moved from 27k to N2 under a year thereafter. Same goes to Transcorp that was recommended here by others when it was less than N1 and people ignore it, saying Tony is a cowboy that will not pay more than 1k dividend.
Same Wale that people are now calling names has returned millions to many lately in capital appreciation and I know one day Wale too will be the toast of the media who will continue to hail him as a master who turn around the fortunes of Oando. Their is no need calling anybody MH. We should always encourage each other to come up with their stock picks, and whether anyone buy it is their cup of tea and DD. We all have one way or the other to pick our stock. Besides, this forum is Nigeria Stock Exchange Market Pick Alert (NSEMPA) and not TA, FA, SA, charts pick alert only.
It will be weird if I read a full page of this thread and see just stock picks by 10-15 different monikers without reason.
Some picks are selfless genuine picks no doubt from peoples private DD and work out fine just like some stocks you mentioned. But unfortunately there's no way to differentiate them from opportunists as well.. thats usually the bone of contention here. Unfortunately, this is a faceless forum where we can't see anyone to at least ascertain their confidence level..
Some of us appreciate both the little insight and money making; both criticisms and praises are welcomed.
But I respect your decision if it's just about making money only for you. As one may also be good in other fields of endeavor and so may not really care about any insight on stocks, just walking by faith and probably brand-name of the poster on the forum.
sky2891: Does this +vely or -vely affect FBNH? I hope we find out how much the deal is worth.
I think positive: Reason. I think: 1)The profitability of fbnquest is just about 5% of FBNH, so less impact on their financials.(nairametrics) 2) Depending on the acquisition figure, they would require less capital requirements when they come to NGX floor, which may be easily subscribed too especially given that most banks already on Right issue and public offer now will already be out of the market by then.
3)less capital requirement means less dilution of Shareholders fund.. Just thinking...
thebargainhunte: It is not to their disfavour, rather to trader's disfavour. Traders would have be the one dictating the direction of those big caps if they apply 5k units threshold. Traders avoid MTN and Dangcem even with high OS.
On point. Cuz with the buzz of to-be-listed Aradel, pending acquisitions, rumours of more IOC diversification and subsequent acquisitions by indigenous firms, movement spree of classmate O&O, current trends surrounding crude availability & Dang Refinery, etc ..... There nothing stopping it having a strong sentimental-contagion effect; driving it to at least 6-7k, if more traders and even some investors were given the muzzle power far less than 100k.😁 unlike NASD..
Meaning price is dictated by the books: -If share price go down significantly means the books are down -if share price go up significantly means the books are up.
Deadlytruth: Couldn't have been better said. You won't even be surprised to discover that despite SEPLAT's very low outstanding 583 million shares, its free-float might be about the minimum 20% allowed therefore making the tradeable shares in the neighborhood of just 117m. Then one can now understand better how bad the 100K units difficulty is for the stock. My prayers are with those in SEPLAT and similar stocks.
It's 20% or 20bn. 117m is too far sef. Just about 5.5million shares is enough to meet free float @ current price.. 😂😂 So theres no how they won't meet free float.
It's a really a good paying stock for early n patient entrants.
thebargainhunte: It is not to their disfavour, rather to trader's disfavour. Traders would have be the one dictating the direction of those big caps if they apply 5k units threshold. Traders avoid MTN and Dangcem even with high OS.
A point also.. Weighted Majority owners(Major shareholders) determine the market value of their company rather than the simple majority (mostly retail investors/traders)
