Part 2

By the 10th day, I was lying on the sofa in the living room and I felt woozy!! (Had the same with DD’s pregnancy, but it happened while I was walking and this one happened while I was lying down??!!). Hei!! I jumped up and got dressed, dressed DD up and left for my sister’s place.

When I got to her estate, I went to a pharmacy there and bought a test strip, got to my sister’s place, said hi to her at the door and rushed into her bathroom. DD and our stuff were still in the car at this point oh . Took the test and screamed ehn!! My bro and sis rushed in to ask me what happened

I was blank...then I was sad..then I was angry..:then I was back to being blank again!!!!

Like!!!! The test line came out before the control line and it was wayyyy darker than the control line. I immediately removed the waist trainer I was wearing oh and dumped it on my sister’s bed. Waist trainer that was giving me tummy discomfort since that week but I chalked it up to “e dey work” not knowing I was compressing my expanding uterus

That’s how the next day, I carried my two left legs to my doctor, got into his office and sat down without saying a word. He asked me what was wrong and I was just moping then he asked me “obago?” (E don enter?). I lost it at that point and started bawling my eyes out lmao. Reminded him how I said I was one and done, how I wasn’t ready how he should have tied my tubes and how it was thoroughly bad timing. He counseled me and advised I kept it but left the decision up to me and the husband. Husband that I hadn’t told what’s up lol. My doc gave me a time frame to terminate if we decided to but strongly advised I do not give it a third thought (I already gave it a second thought at that point)

I went home and my doc never heard from me till my 16th week. Safe to say I even forgot I was pregnant

Picked up courage and told husband weeks after I found out and he burst out laughing because of all the one and done mouth I made (he wasn’t the only person who laughed. Siblings, inlaws, friends oh...cos I was busy making mouth ) It was like a movie, like a one hit wonder. I knew the exact day I took in cos there was no action till that particular day and nothing else after then till I found out because busy and traveling a lot

Well we talked and decided to see it to the end because my Igbo people say “mgberede nyiri dike, mgberede ka eji ama dike” (sorry, I can’t translate this one. It will be lost in translation)

Part 1

So I already made up my mind to stop breastfeeding DD after her first birthday because I never even planned on breastfeeding that long but anty had other plans for me...from 6months, she rejected every single formula I bought and turned me to formula drinker (so they don’t waste lol). Well I gave up in the 8th month and made up my mind to breastfeed her till she turns one since she needed milk and couldn’t start regular milk or even peak 123 till she turned 1. Glad she started taking solids from 6 months. In fact, she had bitterleaf soup at 7 months and finished my plate with me lol. She’s a foodie. Eats amazingly well till date.

Well, 2 days after her birthday, I started the weaning process which I did cold turkey. I gave her water when she woke up to be fed at night and by the third night, she stopped waking entirely. Mum 1: DD 0: Engorgement 100 . I have a high threshold for pain and usually do not take pain meds for any reason so frozen cabbage leaves came to the rescue.

Meanwhile, Period returned exactly 3 days before she clocked 6months after all the exclusive I did whereas my sister supplements with formula yet she is usually period free till she stops breastfeeding, usually up to 15 months. Heigawd!! Issokay!!

After the weaning process, I checked my app and saw I was 2 days late. In planning DD’s birthday and other things going on, I lost track of time. I’m never late, if anything, I’m always a day or two early. I went into panic mode because I never wanted another child; I was one and done because DD’s pregnancy and delivery almost had my head. Like I almost died after having her (this story is already long so won’t dive into this). Also, I had bad guilt after having her; I wouldn’t call it post partum blues but the guilt was real and I still get it. It makes me territorial, like I have to protect her (well, now them) at all costs, protect her from the evil world cos I feel responsible for her. I mean she never asked to be born. I think about how her generation will be, how technology will be (either for the good or worse), if humanity will lose itself, even thought about diseases and pandemics ravaging their generation. I get weird thoughts and I watch lots of sci-fi and horror movies...you can imagine the thoughts going through my head during this Covid-19 times lol

I digress...

Well, I asked Dr Google and I kept seeing, “period may be late after weaning” and “stress could cause a delay in period” but I went on to take a test and it was negative so I chilled and went about my business

My little boy arrived 1:55am this morning (after slightly passing the edd) via VB weighing 4.3kg. Mother, baby and father are doing fine.

Guys! My baby is finally here. She came in yesterday around 5:50pm via vaginal delivery through induced labour after about 10 hours of labour pain weighing 3.5kg giving me some tears.

She looks like me quite alright, but decided to go for daddy’s skin colour and hair

her last menstrual flow was 1st of march, not yet cos she has a 27 days menstrual cycle, I can't ascertain about the test stick though we bought it in the evening against using it the next morning from the pharmacy.

I have a 27 day cycle as well. My urine tests come out positive just days before a missed period. Let her take another say 9-14 days past ovulation

Good day mama's and papa', please my woman tested positive to a blood pregnancy test though she saw her previous menstrual flow but when she did the test using urine it came back negative that same day, please I need to know if anyone here have encounter such a situation or have seen anyone that have encounter such. Cos we are confuse, thanks for the response

If the pregnancy is in the early stages, urine (early morning urine) may not pick it up. Blood test is your best bet cos it detects HCG as early as 2 weeks

My charming prince made his grand entry yesterday at 6:25 via vagina delivery weighing 3.5kg with serious tear.

I am not happy because I have not been able to breastmilk. I am not lactating and my baby has not taken anything since yesterday.
What can I do? Am running crazy... Am down.. Please come to my help

Everybody help me thank God for successful pregnancy journey and safe delivery.
I gave birth to my darling DD on 17th of March2020. We are all doing very well and healthy.
I no sabi put story make una no vex, but my BS is basically that I had to do emergency CS due to unrelenting high blood pressure and preeclampsia.
Everything went well. Thank God.

Please Abuja mamas, where can I do my son’s circumcision? He’s 17 days old and we are yet to do it. Gwarimpa Hospital was closed last week cos of fumigation and their circumcision is only on Fridays, got there today but thwy said we came late that we should have come by 6:30am . Meaning it’s till next week and that’s looking farrrrrr

I’m finally ready for this baby (even though I’m yet to pack my hospital bag ). I was getting worried I was no where near ready but I trusted my gut and ordered from nanasbabyessentials. I received my order the day after Mama Zaynie sent it . I have already washed the clothings, ironed them and arranged baby’s wardrobe because of the swift service.

Good day all.
A lot of children have been falling sick this period and women keep saying it's the weather
I don't know if it's just my state, cos I live in Abuja or if it's a nation wide thing.

The two general hospitals near me in bwari and kubwa are crowded with sick children on admission and there is no bed space left. This month alone my 2 year old fell ill twice with temperature, vomiting and coughing.
People keep saying it's the weather responsible for the sickness but me I don't understand.

How is the weather making children sick? Its not too hot here or too cold so how is it the weather exactly?
Or is there a spread of flu or something else we do not know of? I was thinking it's my babys creche not taking proper care of him that's why he was falling sick but the overcrowded hospitals is making me have a rethink.
Has Anyone heard any concrete reason about the many children falling sick these days?

There was cholera outbreak in the east in the past month and one child I know died..no bed spaces in hospitals as well. The one you described might be the wearher...DD had cough, cattarh and the likes the whole of January. It was so bad that mucus used to block her eyes when she wakes. She just got better this month even though her nose is still crusty and she still demands for water through the night and immediately she wakes in the morning

I slept on the 11th night with severe back pain and by morning of 12th I had serious contractions.I had to call dh from work to come take me to the hospital and by the time he came back around 9:30am we left for the hospital with my bags in the car
I was 36 weeks.
At the hospital the doctor checked me and decided to bring out the baby instead of waiting for the agreed date fixed earlier.
I was prepped and walked to the theater and spinal was applied,it took effect and within 15 minutes baby came out crying.
The doctor finished suturing me and I was wheeled to recovery room
It ended in praise.
Baby came at 36 weeks weighing 3kg.

It was a battle of life and death but the Lord won.
My second son made his grand entrance on 18th Feb weighing 4.7kg through emergency CS when I couldn't push him out during my vbac journey.

I did all the diet and exercise and scans failed me that I was carrying small baby but God did not fail me.

Some people are like that ma,I have a friend who visited me two days after CS in the hospital and throughout her 1hour stay all she talked about was my tummy and my look.
I ignored her because she does not have a child yet.

Toh! They know the kind of people they try that with. I can forgive/ignore curious kids and teenagers but not a grown adult, I would have asked her to leave if I didn’t have the strength to call her out on her behavior

Good evening sabi mamas...pls at what point should one be worried that the bcg didn’t scar? My DD had her bcg last week Friday and this is the 5th day after,still no scar. Should I take her back for vaccinations or wait for how long? Tnx mama

Yes. If your milk comes in before delivery, baby may not be able to get colostrum cos that’s the very first one to come out and it contains all the antibodies baby needs. It may leak into your bra/breastpad before baby comes

Immunization people came ti my gate on saturday as i was rushing down to attend to them i slipped on the stairs and fell flat but thankgod i landed in my bum bum,anyway,after the fall i started feeling pains on both my leg but i kept praying about my tummy.i surmonn courage to go the doctor today he checked and he said i was fine.praise the lord!!

August mama upgrade my own to xy.thankyou.

Thank you so much ma,I really feel so relieved exactly what I thought it wasn’t easy in pregnancy my tummy was so big...a family friend has no other job than to body shame me whenever she sees me that my tummy is big but I tried to ignore her always.now I eat well so I can produce enough breast milk for my babies even if they feed on formula..

Who body shames a woman who had a baby? Talk more one who had twins? A big shame on her
