most of the pictures she posted here are just random pictures. Yes you have a point. It's not compulsory to lie. Especially or Nairaland. On Nairaland, one is not compeled to divulge personal stories. Why lie now? People don't realise that for anything you do, someone smarter is watching or listening. That's how she got busted. Sad though, she is one of the great "cooks". londoner: You're talking about single headed families as if there was never a marriage. The Convo is about having children outside wedlock also known as b word children. You can be a child born to married parents ( not a b word child)and end up in a single parent household if the relationship between your parents breaks down or they get divorced or one parent dies.
Also,it is good to observe more than just one section of society or just one type of family setup or fall out.
It is not far fetched that a child born out of wedlock with no father figure whether from biological father or wider male figure will experience a similar loss to a child born to married parents who experiences the breakdown and divorce of that marriage leading to a single parent setup where there is a loss of that father figure or male figure substitute. Especially during formative years.
In both instances it's about what comes to fill the vacuum of that absence. https://www.nairaland.com/2623775/ten-reasons-why-sex-shouldSweetheart read this for interest sake. Read point 9 |

All this " I was forced to marry her " is just shitty scam. I have someone I know who was in a similar situation as you. The man promised her to divorce the first wife and marry her. He asked for a baby She fell into his trap. One month after the baby was born, the man started taking reverse steps until he completely landed back into his first wife's arms. The girl is left with the baby boy, though the man supports his child. And till today he is divorcing the wife and the baby is four years old now. I guess he cant find the pen to sign the divorce decree. Get pregnant you will see where his loyalty lies. Its your choice. |

londoner: Agreed, but how many children from divorced parents go off the rails? We are talking about people not born out of wedlock. There are families that are common law married but never got married that manage to provide a stable and loving home to their children.
Marriage itself does not equal a good home. I see we will not agree on this. Give yourself time and observe kids from single headed families. Or observe kids born of these babymamas until into their teens. In America teen mom/babymama trend was once fashion. Look at their society right now, particularly "African Americans." Majority of black men see the jail cells once in their lifetime or drug addicts etc. African American woman as well also have maladjustment issues. But lets leave it at " OBSERVATION" from your part. |

londoner: It's not just studies......look around you. Does that tally in your environment? Some will come from homes where parents were never married, some will come from families that were married some from those that are divorced which easns the parents were once married. Some happen because of the type of marriage they are seeing or experiencing. Yes it does tally. Majority of young people that I have done counselling for, come from single parent families. Alot of young men in jail would say " I did all these things because I had no father figure to show me how a man should behave." Hear me, I didn't say kids from good families do not misbehave. They do. But its easier to correct their behaviors than those from single headed families where the parents never married. |

londoner: Open your eyes and look around you. Now how many people who were children of married parents have died an early death? Be honest to yourself, how many people are living a useless and disappointing life even though their parents are married? Speak the truth of what is happening around you and shame the devil.
Nobody is encouraging having children before marriage but that does not mean we should advocate abortion. I am not sure if you were talking to me. Alot of studies have been done and show that alot of misbehaving teenagers are from broken families ( divorce, and single parents ). Alot of studies have also shown that parents have a big influence on a child's life because they copy alot from them. It has also been proven that if the parent was a teen mom, the child is likely to follow suit later in life. Same thing with single parenting and marriage. Though it doesnt mean kids from normal familes dont misbehave, but its better and easier to correct behavior when a child lives with both parents and in a normal healthy environment. |

londoner: To be honest nobody is discouraging sex before marriage. In fact there are a few vices especially in Nigeria that has taken root long before Nadia.
We all know how many kids Tuface had before he married all but one of his kids with three women. Do we not know that Wiz kid and Davido have children? Even Timaya.......what was said against them even Peter of Psquare had his son outside of wedlock. Did we call their children b.ast Ards or do we create threads here about which one has more swag?
Whether it is the issue of childbirth, marriage or divorce.......it is only the woman that is seen negatively. Let there be a stigma on men too and let's see if trends don't change. I am not sure if we are members of the same Nairaland. But this Nairaland has always discouraged both man and woman celebrities who had babies before marriage. The same Tuface you are talking about has been mocked countless times and given a name "Father of all Nations" etc before he settled with Annie. P Square has also counteless times been an object of riducule on this forum. The Davido and Wizkid have also been mocked and discouraged on this forum. Society should jump at any opportunity to discourage behavior projected by celebrities who are influential in our societies. This Nadia girl is seeking attention, relevance and fame and she doesn't care about society and youth that she is influencing. Meanwhile if you are a parent with an 18yr old daughter, this will ruffle your feathers. On the issue of stigma, I can say society stigmatize and focuses on woman because they are the ones who get pregnant and are left with babies. No one want this for their daughter or son, regardless of who gets the stigma. |

Shebarh: Am not encouraging pre or extra marital sex... She had sex out of wedlock yh it is bad..but she is pregnant..Do u xpct her to abort the child Nope, I am not expecting her to abort. But society should discourage unmarried people flaunting their pregnancies as if its some kind of a reward, especially celebrities. That does not give wise ideas to the younger generation. If her mother kissed her tummy its their own baby, but flaunting it on social media, knowing exactly that she is a public figure and a model for some young people is absolutely wrong. If she posted the pic now, why would she even post it when she has even delivered the babies What the purpose of her photo to her fans Some younger people will think that it is a good thing to be pregnant before marriage and your mama should be rubbing your tummy. Just like some people discourage same sex marriage, sex before marriage and kids before marriage issue should be equally given the same attention. Lets not be hypocritical. |

Shebarh: Am not celebrating her.. A child is a blessing weather gotten out of wedlock or not... Which blessing? God did not bless that s.x and union. I cannot encourage and pay attention to wrong things because I did them in my past. You are one of those people that wants us to candy coat what is wrong to accommodate wrong choices made by people, abi?? Having s.x before marriage and having a child before marriage is wrong and should be totaly discouraged, period. Read this and think wisely if you are a christian Wisdom 3-4 https://www.bible.com/bible/431/wis.3But children born of adultery or of a forbidden union will die an early death. 17 Yet even if they do live a long time, they will never amount to anything. They will not be respected in their old age, 18 and if they die young, they will have no hope or comfort on Judgement Day. 19 Children born of a forbidden union suffer a miserable fate. It is better to have virtue, even if it means having no children. Your virtue will be recognized by other people and by God, and you will be remembered for it for ever. 2 Virtue provides an example for people to follow; when it is not there, they miss it. It has always been the finest prize a person can win, and it will always be so. It is the noblest of all the good qualities a person can have. 3 No matter how many children are born of a forbidden union, none of them will ever amount to anything. They are illegitimate; they can never lay a firm foundation for themselves, never take deep root. 4 Like trees with shallow roots, they put out leaves for a while, but they sway in the wind, and storms uproot them. Fear your God and stop encouraging trash. |

Kennydoc: I really hate it when you Muslims boast about how Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. Muslims are given a free hand to practice their religion in the western world, even to the point of building imposing mosques. There is no integration of Christianity into government policies in those countries. People are even free to denounce Christianity and accept Islam, which is often celebrated on the pages of newspapers and on social media.
In the Middle East however, the situation is exactly the opposite. Islam has been integrated into the government of those nations, making it very difficult to practice another religion. Renouncing of Islam has to be done in secret otherwise it will be met with death, which is the sentence for apostasy. People even go ahead to kill their siblings or children who renounce Islam, calling it honour killing. Are you aware that many Muslims are daily being converted to Christianity in Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia etc, but they can't open up on their conversion for the sake of their lives.
Why is there no freedom of choice in Islam? Why can't people be allowed to choose which lifestyle or religion they desire in the Muslim world? Until the Muslim world adopts democratic governance in their Nations, they should stop celebrating any advantage they gain from democracy in the Western (mostly Christian) Nations. Spot on. Particularly their Head Office ( Saudi Arabia ). The government/religion even bars social interaction between foreigners and locals. And as foreigners we do what is done from dressing to everything. There is no freedom to practice your own. |

husnath: Islam is the largest growing religion in the world. By 2060, Islam will be the largest religion in the world (PEW research). That means we will have an increase in American Muslims as well, which in turn means non-Muslim Americans will regularly interact with American Muslims. That means your kids and grandkids will have doctors, lawyes, engineers, etc. that are American Muslims. Do you really want to continue the ignorance? Whoever did that research for you deceived you. How does he know the minds of people who are not even born yet, and those that are living. No machine or amount or science can read a human mind. So, no one knows what 2060 religious landscape will look like. |

craziebone: @chineloSA, i understand your position perfectly, but i am disappointed at some of the things you said.
First of all, it is wrong (in my opinion) to refer to children as "baggages". They are not! Marriage or no marriage, does not make a child illegitimate. A child is legitimate, pure and ok wether he was concieved out of wedlock or not.
Secondly, you mentioned lonely life in the future as a reason why people should get married to avoid. But what about people who got married but their spouse absconded in the end? What about those whose spouse died? If loneliness is the problem, you think getting married will cure it?
A man or woman who has had a child before, is not a "less". You may not want them but that doesn't mean you are settling for less when you get married to them.
Also, priests and nuns who do not get married do feel lonely sometimes and do think of having a family too, that i agree. But we can also say the same thing about those who are currently married. Ask married people and let them be honest with you; they will tell you they sometimes feel lonely even as they are married! Some married people have confirmed this to me before. So you can see that getting married does not shield you from emotional problems later in life. Also, many priests and nuns have confirmed to me before that yes they do feel lonely sometimes but that if given the opportunity again, they would choose the same life. So not all of them regret their decisions not to be married. I am sorry if the word "baggage" hurts you. But to me its the correct word because it refers to issues brought from your past to your new partner. If you cannot leave your past in you past, that is baggage. That include past girlfriends or wives an kids conceived in your past. Well it's sad that in our modern days we have to candy coat certain anomalies to accommodate people who make wrong choices in their youths so that they feel less guilty with their past choices. If you made bad choices before getting married, you did and unfortunately you have to live with them. Having kids before marriage in our parents times used to be condemned and discouraged, now it is made to look acceptable by making people who condemn it feel guilty and bad. I cannot remember saying anything about loneliness. I do remember saying " one is incomplete without a family an you feel it towards your forties" Nevertheless God created Eve for Adam because he saw that Adam was bored an needed a helper. Yes marriage is for lifetime companionship and share love and life together. That's why people marry. So I don't see anything wrong when people marry for future companionship. |

True love is hard to find when you are single and childless and even more harder to fin when you have baggage. I am glad your ex girlfriend bounced. It is not the wisest decision for someone who doesn't have kids. I am glad her mom made sense to her. For someone in your position, a person with kids from previous relationship I bet would be the best match for you. You just blend your families from your past and add more. I learnt the hard way myself. When babymama drama started rearing it's ugly head, all started to make sense. He was a good man, but long term, my happiness was gonna be at stake because of constant compromise to accommodate his other family. I am not saying single mother/father should not find love. Some man/ woman have no problem with that. But from my past experience ,given another opportunity to choose again, I would go for a single childless man. Right now, I have no babymama drama and no compromise to make. Our families are just embracing us and instead putting us under pressure to procreate as I said. And that is absolutely bliss. We are just focusing on ourselves before kids come. Don't take it to heart, I bet you wouldn't want your daughter (without kids) to marry a man with kids from previous marriage or relationships. All the best bro. you will definitely find what God has in store for you. |
