ThiefOfHearts:
bride price. money. same bloody difference
jennykadry:
It is not all about the money TOH. It is culture.
Jenny answered it very well, @Jenny u'r the daughter of u'r father

Da Doctor:
Oga Chines4 , you are really oblivion of your own tradition

please dont feed us nonsense , you are contradicting yourself.

IS THE SAID CHILD A naughty person OR A LEGITIMATE CHILDhuh?

In ibo land, a woman having a child before marriage isnt tolerated even if its in courtship.

and if the child has no traceable father, makes the issue worst, the child is simply a naughty person.
U'r are not a real IGBO man, maybe IBO man. BTW you just don't know the custom, better ask any elder from your place to explain to you

I don't have any problem with my wife accepting gifts from male friends. Where I have problem is friends not know to me, and gifts that am not aware of, till when she want to use it. I believe so much in being libral, but there is a limit to everything.

No I have not left my wife. I have severed communication with the other woman but I am not finding it easy.
I am trying to resist the burning urge to get back together with her
Good that the best decision that you have taken. Family is very important, and marriage is equally a hard work. Continue to resist her. Take u'r wife for shopping and buy sexy wears for her.

Chines, ,,,,tell me somethinghuh I BET YOU ARE NOT AN IBO PERSON, We have no such customs.

SO TELL ME HOW MANY CHILDREN YOUR FATHER HAS ADOPTED ON BEHALF OF YOUR SISTERhuh?

please dont dent IGBO TRADITION here o.

EXTRA MARITAL CHILDREN ARE NEVER GIVEN SAME RIGHT AND NOT TOLERATED. tHOUGH SOME MOTHERS(LIKE YOUR) WILL ACCEPT ON BEHALF OF THERE DAUGHTERS.

IDIOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
Hey no Name calling here, For u'r information I'm original Igbo man. that knows the tradition of my people. Ask your father he will tell you that we don't marry a woman off with pragnancy. And if a man marries a woman and they seperates or divorces without returning the bride price. If the woman remarries any child born of her new marriage belong to her first husband. because the bride price have not been returned. athough due to a lot reasons pple kind of play dowm on this.

Business › Re: Why Are We Not Making Money Like Dangote? by chines4(m): 4:14pm On Jun 01, 2011
I don't know why ppl just can't see something good in others, Why pple just believe that the like of Dangote, Adenuga, Otudeko,Otedola etc are just wonderful entreprenuers. and should be look at as mentors.

Someone that Alhaji Dantata gave him his seed money. Good have u asked u'r self where are the Dandata's compare with Dangote today.

Otedola is he the only son of past governor?

Adenuga is he the only son of a rich mother, etc

A book like Rich Dad, Poor Dad is an eye opener. Our educational system should encourage more entrepreneurs than book worms. For some of us that have ventured into so many ventures don't give up. Starting can never be easy, and success can not be easy, if not every Tom D1ck and Harry will be Dangote now.
Entrepreneurship is the key, it is not late start thinking outside the box. I can remember one company in Lagos"poo is Serious Business" can you beat that.

AS LONG AS I AM CONCERNED, GENNY HAS GOT A STAIN JUST LIKE ANY OTHER PERSON, BUT SHE REMAINS AN AFTER ONE,

She is from Mbaise, and go find out, there are some priviledges she can never enjoy communally for having a naughty person,

If she were proud of the baby,,,,, she would have been bold toalways showcase her, afterall it is an achievment.
In Igbo culture, any child born by single Lady takes the Lady's father surname, and the child is treated as the lady's fathers child, with all entitlement of a full born.

Are u aware that if a man, does not have a male child, that one of the daughters is required by custom to stay back and born for the father, to keep the family name. U'r yet to tell me where u'r from. or are u ashamed of your town? grin
Family › Re: Help! How Can I Deal With A Difficult Child? by chines4(m): 6:08pm On May 27, 2011
Lady T is 100% right. Be firm with her and still show her love. shipping her us to boarding school is not the best idea. The issue her is not what she want, but what is good for her. Just Imagine a child that don't want to go to school and your like no school for you today due to u'r bad behavior, do u think that child will ever change?. the child will get worse.

What is best for the child, that what you will do, even if it hurts.

Here is my list of suggestions.  smiley
[li]Be more romantic - Cook for him rather than eat out. Should you eat out, go to a place that allows the two of you to dine and be alone. [/li]
[li]Spend quality time - Take strolls together  smiley or rather than go out, spend time at his house, your house or if you live together dedicate a whole day to yourselves. Repeat this as often as possible perhaps a day of the weekend be it saturdays or sundays.[/li]
[li]Be intimate WITHOUT being physically intimate -  Show him affection without being s3xual. Hold his hand or Cuddle  smiley. Rub his back or give him a massage. Give him spontaneous kisses be it mouth to mouth or his cheek. Smile at him more.  smiley[/li]
[li]Tell him you love him more often - it might seem like it's no use considering this is the very thing he refuses to believe but you have to be consistent when you love someone. Let them know it by way of mouth and by actions.[/li]
[li]Support him - anytime he comes at you with an idea or seems ambitious about anything give him some support. Be someone he can rely on to have his corner/back and can trust.[/li]
[li]'Stroke his ego' - Compliment him. If you want you could give him pet names that make him feel good. You don't have to call him 'King' or 'Daddy' but think of his positive qualities and go from there.[/li]
[li]Show interest in his loved ones - Show interest in his family and friends. [/li]
