fergie001: A Court of Appeal Judgement by Mohammed Garba (JCA at the time) on December 23, 2015 has voided it.
“In the later provisions, the 2nd respondent (RSJSC) is to advise the 4th respondent (NJC) on ‘suitable persons’ for nomination to the office of the Chief Judge of the state and in the earlier provisions, the 4th respondent (NJC) is to recommend to the 1st respondent (the governor) from the list of persons submitted to it by the 2nd respondent ‘person for appointment’ to the office of the Chief Judge of the state.
“It is therefore beyond reasonable argument that in the nomination of a person to the 1st respondent for the appointment in question, the 4th respondent is only bound to do so from the list of suitable persons submitted to it by the 2nd respondent and no more.

Politics › Re: Justice Beatrice Iliya Excluded From Gombe CJ-Nominee List For Being A Christian by chloride6: 7:17pm On Nov 19, 2020 |
fergie001: They will confirm it.
The law is that the State Judicial Service Commission submits to NJC and the latter recommends.
The NJC cannot recommend someone who wasn't sent to them.
In the case of CRS, they submitted her name, that is where the problem(s) lie.
Gombe State Govt knows that once they submit Justice Beatrice's name, she must be picked, been the most senior...the NJC don't have anything to do.
They will just tell her to go to Court. Painfully, she can do nothing. Allow me to refer you to the 2012 Osun State CJ issue where the NJC rejected the list of nominees sent and asked for the name of the most senior judge in the state to be sent. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vanguardngr.com/2012/11/njc-vs-aregbesola-osun-to-reject-cjs-choice/amp/Last Last, Gombe wont have a chief judge |

Fortunately it doesnt work like that.
You can't break rank in the Judiciary.
The Judicual Council will simply not conform your nominations.
Cross Rivers has been in the same situation for a while, no Chief Judge. |

nedekid: Oga, listen and learn from him. Years back, I ordered refurbished common rail injection units for a truck I owned back then from the UK. They sent me an invoice. I asked how to pay, all they said was to provide them with my card number and expiry date. I had not finished calling the number over the phone when debit alert entered. I was like how did they do it? Meanwhile I was here in Lagos oh. Transactions without 2FA such as OTP are at Vendor's risk. You understand. |

bigtt76: Its called oil bunkering because the people vandalize already established oil wells and steal oil from it. If they can afford to prospect for oil on their own and established a functional oil well without disrupting the lives of the people or existing oil wells belonging to oil companies, why not. Lmao...you are confusing illegal bunkering for bunkering. You think you can just go and start producing oil and gas? You are joking. You need to bid for a prospecting license which Artisanal miners havent done. If you strike oil, you execute an agreement with the government on sharing agreement. None of this has been done. The ministry of mines has just made the situation worse. |
